  • Oct 15, 2026In Symfony YAML prior to versions 5.4.54, 6.4.45, 7.4.18, and 8.1.6, Yaml\Parser::lexInlineStructure() recursed through lexInlineMapping() and lexInlineSequenceCVE-2026-109413 · Other software · sensiolabs · reported by 596c5446-0ce5-4ba2-aa66-48b3b757a647High 8.7

    In Symfony YAML prior to versions 5.4.54, 6.4.45, 7.4.18, and 8.1.6, Yaml\Parser::lexInlineStructure() recursed through lexInlineMapping() and lexInlineSequence() for every { and [ of an inline collection, without entering the nesting level that the rest of the parser bounds with maxNestingLevel. A document made of deeply nested inline collections, such as [[[[...]]]], exhausted the stack while it was being lexed: depending on the PHP version and its stack settings, the process crashed or the request ended with a fatal error. Any code parsing untrusted YAML is affected. That includes #[MapRequestPayload] when the Yaml component is installed and the endpoint does not restrict acceptFormat: a single unauthenticated request with a YAML content type is enough. This issue affects symfony/yaml through v5.4.53, v6.0.0-BETA1 through v6.4.44, v7.0.0-BETA1 through v7.4.17, and v8.0.0-BETA1 through v8.1.5.

  • Oct 5, 2026YAML versions before 1.27_001 for Perl allow a loaded perl/glob document to replace any package variable, which can lead to arbitrary code execution.CVE-2019-25777 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.3

    YAML versions before 1.27_001 for Perl allow a loaded perl/glob document to replace any package variable, which can lead to arbitrary code execution. A perl/glob document names a package and a symbol, and supplies the value assigned to it. Nothing restricts the name, so the target can be @INC or YAML's own load options. A perl/glob document that sets $YAML::LoadCode or $YAML::UseCode turns on code loading, which is off by default, for every later Load() in the process. A perl/code document is then passed to a string eval, so an attacker who supplies two documents to separate Load() calls in one process can execute arbitrary Perl code.

  • Oct 5, 2026YAML versions before 1.30 for Perl allow a loaded document to trigger the DESTROY method of arbitrary classes.CVE-2017-20285 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.1

    YAML versions before 1.30 for Perl allow a loaded document to trigger the DESTROY method of arbitrary classes. A perl/hash:Class tag blesses a hash into the class it names. The document supplies the object's fields, and Perl calls DESTROY when it goes out of scope. What DESTROY does depends on the classes the process has loaded. With File::Temp::Dir from core Perl, it can delete a directory tree the document names.

  • Sep 24, 2026libfyaml 0.9.6 contains a stack exhaustion vulnerability in fy_atom_iter_format().CVE-2026-88359 · Other software · reported by MITREMedium 6.5

    libfyaml 0.9.6 contains a stack exhaustion vulnerability in fy_atom_iter_format(). When processing a specially crafted YAML document containing a very large literal or folded block scalar, the function repeatedly grows an internal buffer using alloca() inside a loop. • Sep 22, 2026Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL.CVE-2026-76805 · Other software · projectdiscovery · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

    Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL. From 3.0.0 until 3.10.0, the DAST/fuzz payload path in pkg/fuzz/parts.go can evaluate substituted runtime data more than once, creating a second evaluation pass that allows response content captured by an internal: true extractor in one protocol step to be reinterpreted as template syntax in a later fuzz step. This vulnerability is an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-41645: the prior remediation made expressions.Evaluate() single-pass within one call but did not prevent DAST/fuzz callers from evaluating substituted output again. When -env-vars is enabled, a malicious scan target can return marker-shaped content that resolves against the template variable map and discloses scanner-host environment variables such as credentials, API keys, or tokens. The vulnerability requires a multi-step DAST or fuzz template, response data reused through an internal extractor, and explicit environment-variable expansion; users who do not enable -env-vars are not affected by the sensitive-information disclosure. This issue is fixed in version 3.10.0.

  • Sep 22, 2026Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL.CVE-2026-76804 · Other software · projectdiscovery · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

    Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL. From 3.0.0 until 3.10.0, the workflow template loading path does not enforce the -file capability gate when resolving file: protocol templates referenced by a workflow. An untrusted unsigned workflow can therefore load a file-protocol template and read local files from the scanner host even when the operator has not enabled file templates. The issue affects CLI users running workflows with -w and SDK integrations that accept end-user workflows while relying on the default file-access restriction. This issue is fixed in version 3.10.0.

  • Sep 22, 2026Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL.CVE-2026-76803 · Other software · projectdiscovery · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

    Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL. From 3.0.0 until 3.10.0, the nuclei/mysql JavaScript library does not enforce the local-file sandbox when a JavaScript template supplies the allowAllFiles MySQL DSN option. An untrusted javascript: template scanning an attacker-controlled MySQL-compatible endpoint can cause the server to issue LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE requests for arbitrary paths, after which the scanner's MySQL client reads the files and returns their contents to the server even though -allow-local-file-access is disabled. JavaScript templates can run unsigned and without the -code flag on affected versions, and the bypass affects CLI and SDK deployments that accept untrusted templates. This issue is fixed in version 3.10.0.

  • Sep 8, 2026The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents frCVE-2026-72923 · Computers, phones & browsers · microsoft · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

    The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents from the model. In Microsoft.OpenApi.Readers versions before 1.6.30 and Microsoft.OpenApi.YamlReader from 2.0.0-preview.11 through 2.11.0 and 3.0.0 through 3.9.0, parsing a YAML OpenAPI document with nested anchors and aliases can consume uncontrolled memory. SharpYaml represents aliases as shared nodes in a small directed acyclic graph, but conversion to independent OpenAPI or System.Text.Json.Nodes.JsonNode trees duplicates every aliased path; without a node-count or nesting-depth limit, N nested anchors referenced k times can require k^N materialized nodes and terminate the process through an out-of-memory condition. The fixed readers bound materialization to 5,000,000 nodes and a nesting depth of 64 by default and report an OpenApiDiagnostic error when a limit is exceeded. This vulnerability is fixed in Microsoft.OpenApi.Readers 1.6.30 and Microsoft.OpenApi.YamlReader 2.12.0 and 3.10.0.

  • Sep 1, 2026js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper.CVE-2026-84375 · Other software · nodeca · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

    js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper. From 3.0.0 until 3.15.2, 4.3.2, and 5.4.1, maxTotalMergeKeys in lib/js-yaml/loader.js and lib/loader.js does not count empty mapping sources while processing the merge key <<. An attacker can alias a large sequence of empty mappings into many merge targets, causing O(N * K) processing while totalMergeKeys remains unchanged and the configured resource limit is never reached. A relatively small YAML document can therefore cause prolonged CPU consumption in applications that parse untrusted YAML, and merge processing is enabled by default on these release lines. In v3 & v4, merge is enabled by default so the severity score is higher. This issue is fixed in versions 3.15.2, 4.3.2, and 5.4.1.

  • Aug 13, 2026js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper.CVE-2026-73643 · Other software · nodeca · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

    js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper. From 5.0.0 until 5.2.2, parsing a small YAML document can take exponential time when an application calls load() or loadAll() on untrusted input. In src/parser/parser.ts, readFlowCollection uses restoreState and calls parseNode a second time when a flow-sequence entry is recognized as a key: value pair. If the key is a nested flow sequence of the same shape, every level is parsed twice, causing O(2^n) work and allowing an input under 200 bytes to keep one CPU busy for minutes, block the Node.js event loop, and stall the process. No anchors, aliases, merges, tags, or nondefault options are required. This issue is fixed in version 5.2.2.

  • Jul 16, 2026YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via an unbounded newline scan in newline_len.CVE-2026-57077 · Other software · TODDR · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.7

    YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via an unbounded newline scan in newline_len. In the bundled libsyck newline_len and is_newline dereference the scan pointer, and the following byte for a "\r\n" pair, with no NUL-terminator or bounds check. During block-scalar lexing at a document boundary the scan runs one byte past the heap lexer buffer. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2025-11683, on a lexer path the earlier fix did not cover. YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a heap use-after-free via an anchor name reused as an anchors-table key in syck_hdlr_add_anchor. In the bundled libsyck an anchor name allocated by syck_strndup is stored both as node->anchor, freed when the node is freed, and as the key in the parser's anchors table. Freeing the node frees the shared key, and a later anchor redefinition makes st_delete compare against the freed key, so st_strcmp reads freed heap memory. Anchors are a standard YAML feature and need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor reaches the read of freed memory.

    YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via a signed-char lookup-table index in syck_base64dec. The base64 decoder in the bundled libsyck indexes the 256-entry static table b64_xtable with a signed char, so any !!binary byte >= 0x80 sign-extends to a negative index and reads before the table. The decoder receives the raw bytes of any !!binary node, a standard YAML type not gated by $LoadBlessed or $LoadCode, so it is reached on the default Load path. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document containing a !!binary scalar with a high-bit byte triggers the read, and the value read can surface in the decoded result.

    YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack. In the bundled libsyck, when an anchor name is redefined or removed, syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor free the node stored under that name with syck_free_node. That node can still be live on the parser's value stack, so syck_hdlr_add_node reaches it again and frees it a second time. On a normal build the 48-byte node chunk is freed twice and the interpreter aborts. Anchors need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path, and a 7-byte document that redefines an anchor triggers it. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor mid-parse crashes the interpreter, a denial of service.

    A vulnerability has been identified in Fleet's agent-side deployer, which did not filter security-sensitive keys from namespaceLabels in fleet.yaml (or BundleDeployment.spec.options.namespaceLabels) when applying them to the target namespace. An attacker with git push access to a Fleet-monitored repository could overwrite Pod Security Standards (PSS) enforcement labels on a target namespace. This allows the attacker to weaken admission controls and deploy workloads that PSS policies would otherwise block.

  • Jun 22, 2026js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper.CVE-2026-53550 · Other software · nodeca · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

    js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper. Prior to 4.2.0 and 3.15.0, a crafted YAML document can trigger algorithmic CPU exhaustion in js-yaml merge-key processing (<<) by repeating the same alias many times in a merge sequence. This causes quadratic parse-time behavior relative to input size and can block a Node.js worker/event loop for seconds with a relatively small payload (tens of KB), resulting in denial of service. The issue is in merge handling inside lib/loader.js. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.0 and 3.15.0.

    A YAML injection vulnerability exists in the Windows.Collectors.Remapping artifact of Rapid7 Velociraptor before version 0.76.6. The hostname field in client_info.json inside a collection ZIP is inserted into a YAML template via Go's text/template without escaping. An attacker providing a crafted collection ZIP can leverage literal double quotes and newlines in the hostname to break out of the YAML quoted string and inject a new mount remapping entry. When an analyst applies the generated remapping file with --remap, arbitrary VQL executes on their machine with NullACLManager (all permissions granted, unsandboxed).

    YAML::Syck versions before 1.38 for Perl has an out-of-bounds read. The base60 (sexagesimal) parsing code in perl_syck.h has a buffer underflow bug in both int#base60 and float#base60 handlers. When processing the leftmost segment of a colon-separated value (e.g., the 1 in 1:30:45), the inner while loop can decrement a pointer past the start of the string buffer: while ( colon >= ptr && *colon != ':' ) { colon--; } if ( *colon == ':' ) *colon = '\0'; // colon may be ptr-1 here When no colon is found (final/leftmost segment), colon becomes ptr-1, and the subsequent *colon dereference reads one byte before the allocated buffer.

    Nuclei is a vulnerability scanner built on a simple YAML-based DSL. From version 3.0.0 to before version 3.8.0, a vulnerability in Nuclei's expression evaluation engine makes it possible for a malicious target server to inject and execute supported DSL expressions. This happens when HTTP response data containing helper/function syntax gets reused by multi-step templates. If the -env-vars / -ev option is explicitly enabled, this can expose host environment variables. That option is off by default, so standard configurations are not affected by the information disclosure risk. This issue has been patched in version 3.8.0.

    Kestra is an open-source, event-driven orchestration platform Versions up to and including 1.3.3 render user-supplied flow YAML metadata fields — description, inputs[].displayName, inputs[].description — through the Markdown.vue component instantiated with html: true. The resulting HTML is injected into the DOM via Vue's v-html without any sanitization. This allows a flow author to embed arbitrary JavaScript that executes in the browser of any user who views or interacts with the flow. This is distinct from GHSA-r36c-83hm-pc8j / CVE-2026-29082, which covers only FilePreview.vue rendering .md files from execution outputs. The present finding affects different components, different data sources, and requires significantly less user interaction (zero-click for input.displayName). As of time of publication, it is unclear if a patch is available.

  • Mar 26, 2026`yaml` is a YAML parser and serialiser for JavaScript.CVE-2026-33532 · Other software · eemeli · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3

    `yaml` is a YAML parser and serialiser for JavaScript. Parsing a YAML document with a version of `yaml` on the 1.x branch prior to 1.10.3 or on the 2.x branch prior to 2.8.3 may throw a RangeError due to a stack overflow. The node resolution/composition phase uses recursive function calls without a depth bound. An attacker who can supply YAML for parsing can trigger a `RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded` with a small payload (~2–10 KB). The `RangeError` is not a `YAMLParseError`, so applications that only catch YAML-specific errors will encounter an unexpected exception type. Depending on the host application's exception handling, this can fail requests or terminate the Node.js process. Flow sequences allow deep nesting with minimal bytes (2 bytes per level: one `[` and one `]`). On the default Node.js stack, approximately 1,000–5,000 levels of nesting (2–10 KB input) exhaust the call stack. The exact threshold is environment-dependent (Node.js version, stack size, call stack depth at invocation). Note: the library's `Parser` (CST phase) uses a stack-based iterative approach and is not affected. Only the compose/resolve phase uses actual call-stack recursion. All three pu

    YAML::Syck versions through 1.36 for Perl has several potential security vulnerabilities including a high-severity heap buffer overflow in the YAML emitter. The heap overflow occurs when class names exceed the initial 512-byte allocation.
