  • Oct 26, 2026compress provides various compression algorithms.CVE-2026-116591 · Other software · klauspost · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

compress provides various compression algorithms. Prior to 1.20.2, the zstd DecodeAll and streaming decoder paths can panic when a crafted two-block frame reaches huff0.ReadTable with an FSE normalized count of 32768 that readNCount stores in int16 as -32768. The wrapped count allows buildDtable to retain stale fse.Scratch decode-table state from the prior block, and nextFast then derives an out-of-range state and indexes beyond the table instead of returning a decode error. Both blocks are required to preserve and then reuse the stale state, allowing untrusted zstd input to crash an application. This issue is fixed in version 1.20.2.

  • Oct 21, 2026The nbconvert tool, jupyter nbconvert, converts Jupyter notebooks to various other formats via Jinja templates.CVE-2026-114140 · Other software · jupyter · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

The nbconvert tool, jupyter nbconvert, converts Jupyter notebooks to various other formats via Jinja templates. From 5.4.0 until 7.17.2, ExtractOutputPreprocessor in nbconvert/preprocessors/extractoutput.py joins the attacker-controlled cell output metadata filename to output_files_dir without limiting the result to the intended directory. When a victim converts a malicious notebook with the markdown, LaTeX, reStructuredText, or AsciiDoc exporter, path traversal in the output filename can write attacker-controlled output data to arbitrary locations accessible to the victim. Running the notebook cell again replaces the malicious output metadata, but merely converting the supplied notebook does not. This issue is fixed in version 7.17.2.

  • Oct 14, 2026Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files.CVE-2026-85714 · Other software · Stirling-Tools · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1

Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. Prior to 2.13.2, an authenticated administrator using the default H2 database and security mode can upload a crafted SQL file to POST /api/v1/database/import-database. DatabaseService.validateSqlContent() splits normalized input on semicolons and accepts a statement when it contains any allowed keyword, allowing dangerous H2 functions such as FILE_READ and CSVWRITE, plus CREATE ALIAS, to bypass the insufficient whitelist and execute side effects when RUNSCRIPT processes the file. This permits arbitrary file access. The demonstrated operating-system command execution chain writes attacker-controlled startup files to a user-site location and then triggers an application Python interpreter configured to load those startup files, resulting in command execution as the JVM service account. This issue is fixed in version 2.13.2.

  • Sep 29, 2026compress provides various compression algorithms.CVE-2026-63209 · Other software · klauspost · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

compress provides various compression algorithms. Prior to version 1.18.7, a signed integer overflow vulnerability in s2.NewDict() allows an attacker to bypass repeat index validation by supplying a dictionary with a uvarint-encoded repeat value exceeding MaxInt64. When Dict.Encode() is subsequently called, the overflowed negative repeat value causes an out-of-bounds memory access via unsafe.Pointer arithmetic, crashing the process with SIGSEGV. This issue has been patched in version 1.18.7.

  • Sep 23, 2026Streamlink is a CLI utility which pipes video streams from various services into a video player.CVE-2026-92164 · Other software · streamlink · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Streamlink is a CLI utility which pipes video streams from various services into a video player. Prior to 8.6.0, HTTPSession mounts a FileAdapter for the file scheme and inherits redirect handling from requests.Session without rejecting cross-protocol redirects. A remote server controlling an HTTP or HTTPS URL reached by Streamlink can return a redirect to a local file URL, causing HTTPSession to read the local file and return its contents to the response consumer. This bypasses the direct file URL checks added for HLS and DASH content because the manifest contains an ordinary network URL and the scheme transition occurs later during fetch handling. The flaw applies to every request made through HTTPSession, and a segment fetch can place the local file contents into stream output. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.0.

When guests are terminated, various pieces of cleanup need carrying out. The cleaning up of PCI devices which were assigned to guests, and the associated removal of tracking structures for IRQs used by the devices occurs relatively early in the process. Unfortunately after that point the guest about to be terminated could cause its device model (DM) to re-establish such tracking structures, by having it bind one or more IRQs anew. While some of those tracking structures would still be cleaned up later on, at least one would not be.

eml_parser serves as a python module for parsing eml files and returning various information found in the e-mail as well as computed information. Prior to 3.0.2, eml_parser.routing.noparenthesis in eml_parser/routing.py removes parenthesized CFWS comments from Received: headers with a regex-based fix-point loop whose running time is quadratic in the nesting depth. A single Received: header with 5,000 nested parentheses causes approximately 1.3 seconds of CPU saturation per parsed message, and doubling the nesting depth approximately quadruples the running time. An attacker can submit relatively small EML files that consume multiple seconds of processing time, causing worker latency, queue backpressure, and possible service-level outages in synchronous gateways, sandboxes, and real-time triage pipelines. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.2.

Prior to 3.0.2, eml_parser.parser.HeaderParser.header_fetch_parse in eml_parser/parser.py uses email.utils.getaddresses() to parse address-bearing e-mail headers. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: nexthop: Increase weight to u16 In CLOS networks, as link failures occur at various points in the network, ECMP weights of the involved nodes are adjusted to compensate. With high fan-out of the involved nodes, and overall high number of nodes, a (non-)ECMP weight ratio that we would like to configure does not fit into 8 bits. Instead of, say, 255:254, we might like to configure something like 1000:999. For these deployments, the 8-bit weight may not be enough. To that end, in this patch increase the next hop weight from u8 to u16. Increasing the width of an integral type can be tricky, because while the code still compiles, the types may not check out anymore, and numerical errors come up. To prevent this, the conversion was done in two steps. First the type was changed from u8 to a single-member structure, which invalidated all uses of the field. This allowed going through them one by one and audit for type correctness. Then the structure was replaced with a vanilla u16 again. This should ensure that no place was missed. The UAPI for configuring nexthop group members is that an attribute NHA_GROUP carri

Fluentd collects events from various data sources and writes them to files, RDBMS, NoSQL, IaaS, SaaS, Hadoop and so on. Prior to 1.19.3, the Fluentd out_http output plugin allows placeholders such as ${tag} in the endpoint configuration parameter, and if a placeholder value is derived from untrusted input an attacker can control the destination hostname of outbound HTTP requests and force requests to arbitrary internal services. This issue is fixed in version 1.19.3.

Prior to 1.19.3, Fluentd allows dynamically constructing file paths using the ${tag} placeholder, and insufficient validation of ${tag} in file configurations such as the path parameter of the out_file plugin allows attackers sending untrusted tags containing path traversal characters to write or overwrite arbitrary files and potentially achieve remote code execution.
