  • Oct 6, 2026Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications.CVE-2026-106442 · Other software · hydra-ecosystem · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. From 1.3.4 until 1.3.6 and 1.4.0.dev9, the instantiate() target blacklist introduced for CVE-2026-68508 incompletely checks the effective callable selected by the target field. Execution wrappers such as timeit.timeit, executable deserialization through pickle.loads, aliases, callable-returning helpers, generic dispatch, and deferred calls can obscure or defer the effective target and bypass name-based authorization. An attacker who causes an application to instantiate untrusted Hydra configuration can use these gaps to execute code with the application's privileges. This issue is fixed in versions 1.3.6 and 1.4.0.dev9.

  • Oct 6, 2026Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications.CVE-2026-106441 · Other software · hydra-ecosystem · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. Prior to 1.3.6 and 1.4.0.dev9, Hydra passes Python logging configuration to logging.config.dictConfig() without applying Hydra's target policy to handler class values or formatter, filter, handler, queue, and listener factories. An attacker who controls Hydra logging configuration can therefore select an importable class or factory and cause it to be invoked with the application's privileges, even in versions where instantiate() is protected because the logging path does not use instantiate(). This issue is fixed in versions 1.3.6 and 1.4.0.dev9.

  • Oct 6, 2026Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications.CVE-2026-106440 · Other software · hydra-ecosystem · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. From 1.2.0 until 1.3.0 and 1.4.0.dev10, the hydra-optuna-sweeper package accepts a configuration-controlled dotted path in hydra.sweeper.custom_search_space, resolves it with hydra.utils.get_method(), and later invokes the returned callable in the Hydra controller process. Because get_method() is a trusted-input lookup helper and does not apply the execution policy used by instantiate(), an attacker who controls Optuna sweep configuration or command-line overrides can select importable Python code for execution with the application's privileges, including bypassing a trusted execution whitelist on affected Hydra 1.4 development releases. This issue is fixed in versions 1.3.0 and 1.4.0.dev10.

  • Oct 6, 2026Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications.CVE-2026-106439 · Other software · hydra-ecosystem · reported by GitHubHigh 8.5

Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. From 1.3.4 until 1.3.7 and 1.4.0.dev10, Hydra stores legacy instantiate target blocklists and related execution-policy collections in mutable module-level state. An attacker who controls multiple sibling target entries can resolve hydra._internal.target_policy.UNCONTROLLED_EXECUTION_TARGETS.discard through instantiate(), remove a denied target, and then invoke that target because sibling nodes are processed in insertion order against the same modified policy. The mutation persists in process-global state and can enable code execution with the application's privileges, while a narrow execution whitelist supplied by trusted Python code is not bypassed by the reported direct mutation path. This issue is fixed in versions 1.3.7 and 1.4.0.dev10.

  • Aug 21, 2026Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications.CVE-2026-68508 · Other software · facebookresearch · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

Hydra is a framework for elegantly configuring complex applications. Prior to 1.3.4, hydra.utils.instantiate() resolves and calls Python objects selected by configuration through _resolve_target() in hydra/_internal/instantiate/_instantiate2.py, allowing attacker-controlled target values and arguments to choose dangerous callables. A consuming application, library, CLI workflow, or model loader that passes untrusted configuration, CLI overrides, or model metadata into hydra.utils.instantiate() can therefore execute arbitrary code in its own process, including reading or modifying files and credentials or terminating the process. Version 1.3.4 adds target blocking with an explicit HYDRA_INSTANTIATE_ALLOWLIST_OVERRIDE escape hatch. This issue is fixed in version 1.3.4.

  • Aug 15, 2026Hydra Booking — Appointment Scheduling & Booking Calendar: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-15948 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The Hydra Booking — Appointment Scheduling & Booking Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'first_name' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with host-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The tfhb_host role required to exploit this vulnerability can be self-assigned by any visitor via the plugin's public Signup shortcode, making this effectively exploitable by unauthenticated users who complete the registration flow.

  • Jul 9, 2026Hydra Booking – Appointment Scheduling & Booking Calendar: Insecure Direct Object ReferenceCVE-2026-12433 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 4.3

The Hydra Booking – Appointment Scheduling & Booking Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in versions up to, and including, 1.2.1 via the /wp-json/hydra-booking/v1/booking/details/{id} REST endpoint. This is due to the getBookingDetails() callback only enforcing the tfhb_manage_options capability via tfhb_manage_options_permission(), without verifying that the requested booking belongs to the currently authenticated host (the lookup in getBookingDetailsData() filters solely on the booking id supplied in the URL). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Hydra Host-level access and above (a role created by the plugin which grants tfhb_manage_options), to view sensitive booking records belonging to other hosts, including attendee names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, meeting details, payment method and status, transaction history, and internal notes by iterating booking IDs.

  • Mar 26, 2026Ory Hydra is an OAuth 2.0 Server and OpenID Connect Provider.CVE-2026-33504 · Other software · ory · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2

Ory Hydra is an OAuth 2.0 Server and OpenID Connect Provider. Prior to version 26.2.0, the listOAuth2Clients, listOAuth2ConsentSessions, and listTrustedOAuth2JwtGrantIssuers Admin APIs in Ory Hydra are vulnerable to SQL injection due to flaws in its pagination implementation. Pagination tokens are encrypted using the secret configured in `secrets.pagination`. If this value is not set, Hydra falls back to using `secrets.system`. An attacker who knows this secret can craft their own tokens, including malicious tokens that lead to SQL injection. This issue can be exploited when one or more admin APIs listed above are directly or indirectly accessible to the attacker; the attacker can pass a raw pagination token to the affected API; and the configuration value `secrets.pagination` is set and known to the attacker, or `secrets.pagination` is not set and `secrets.system` is known to the attacker. An attacker can execute arbitrary SQL queries through forged pagination tokens. As a first line of defense, immediately configure a custom value for `secrets.pagination` by generating a cryptographically secure random secret. Next, upgrade Hydra to the fixed version, 26.2.0 as soon as possible.

  • Feb 6, 2026EPyT-Flow is a Python package designed for the easy generation of hydraulic and water quality scenario data of water distribution networks.CVE-2026-25632 · Other software · WaterFutures · reported by GitHubCritical 10

EPyT-Flow is a Python package designed for the easy generation of hydraulic and water quality scenario data of water distribution networks. Prior to 0.16.1, EPyT-Flow’s REST API parses attacker-controlled JSON request bodies using a custom deserializer (my_load_from_json) that supports a type field. When type is present, the deserializer dynamically imports an attacker-specified module/class and instantiates it with attacker-supplied arguments. This allows invoking dangerous classes such as subprocess.Popen, which can lead to OS command execution during JSON parsing. This also affects the loading of JSON files. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.16.1.

  • Apr 22, 2024Hydra is a Continuous Integration service for Nix based projects.CVE-2024-32657 · Other software · NixOS · reported by GitHubMedium 4.6

Hydra is a Continuous Integration service for Nix based projects. Attackers can execute arbitrary code in the browser context of Hydra and execute authenticated HTTP requests. The abused feature allows Nix builds to specify files that Hydra serves to clients. One use of this functionality is serving NixOS `.iso` files. The issue is only with html files served by Hydra. The issue has been patched on https://hydra.nixos.org around 2024-04-21 14:30 UTC. The nixpkgs package were fixed in unstable and 23.11. Users with custom Hydra packages can apply the fix commit to their local installations. The vulnerability is only triggered when opening HTML build artifacts, so not opening them until the vulnerability is fixed works around the issue.

  • Oct 4, 2023Hydra is the two-layer scalability solution for Cardano.CVE-2023-42449 · Other software · input-output-hk · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1

Hydra is the two-layer scalability solution for Cardano. Prior to version 0.13.0, it is possible for a malicious head initializer to extract one or more PTs for the head they are initializing due to incorrect data validation logic in the head token minting policy which then results in an flawed check for burning the head ST in the `initial` validator. This is possible because it is not checked in `HeadTokens.hs` that the datums of the outputs at the `initial` validator are equal to the real head ID, and it is also not checked in the `off-chain code`. During the `Initial` state of the protocol, if the malicious initializer removes a PT from the Hydra scripts it becomes impossible for any other participant to reclaim any funds they have attempted to commit into the head, as to do so the Abort transaction must burn all the PTs for the head, but they cannot burn the PT which the attacker controls and so cannot satisfy this requirement. That means the initializer can lock the other participants committed funds forever or until they choose to return the PT (ransom). The malicious initializer can also use the PT to spoof that they have committed a particular TxO when progressing the hea

  • Oct 4, 2023Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano.CVE-2023-42448 · Other software · input-output-hk · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1

Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano. Prior to version 0.13.0, the specification states that the contestation period in the datum of the UTxO at the head validator must stay unchanged as the state progresses from Open to Closed (Close transaction), but no such check appears to be performed in the `checkClose` function of the head validator. This would allow a malicious participant to modify the contestation deadline of the head to either allow them to fanout the head without giving another participant the chance to contest, or prevent any participant from ever redistributing the funds locked in the head via a fan-out. Version 0.13.0 contains a patch for this issue.

  • Oct 4, 2023Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano.CVE-2023-38701 · Other software · input-output-hk · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1

Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano. Users of the Hydra head protocol send the UTxOs they wish to commit into the Hydra head first to the `commit` validator, where they remain until they are either collected into the `head` validator or the protocol initialisation is aborted and the value in the committed UTxOs is returned to the users who committed them. Prior to version 0.12.0, the `commit` validator contains a flawed check when the `ViaAbort` redeemer is used, which allows any user to spend any UTxO which is at the validator arbitrarily, meaning an attacker can steal the funds that users are trying to commit into the head validator. The intended behavior is that the funds must be returned to the user which committed the funds and can only be performed by a participant of the head. The `initial` validator also is similarly affected as the same flawed check is performed for the `ViaAbort` redeemer. Due to this issue, an attacker can steal any funds that user's try to commit into a Hydra head. Also, an attacker can prevent any Hydra head from being successfully opened. It does not allow an attacker to take funds which have been successfully collected into and cu

  • Sep 21, 2023Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano.CVE-2023-42806 · Other software · input-output-hk · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Hydra is the layer-two scalability solution for Cardano. Prior to version 0.13.0, not signing and verifying `$\mathsf{cid}$` allows an attacker (which must be a participant of this head) to use a snapshot from an old head instance with the same participants to close the head or contest the state with it. This can lead to an incorrect distribution of value (= value extraction attack; hard, but possible) or prevent the head to finalize because the value available is not consistent with the closed utxo state (= denial of service; easy). A patch is planned for version 0.13.0. As a workaround, rotate keys between heads so not to re-use keys and not result in the same multi-signature participants.

  • Apr 6, 2020In Hydra (an OAuth2 Server and OpenID Certified™ OpenID Connect Provider written in Go), before version 1.4.0+oryOS.17, when using client authentication method CVE-2020-5300 · Other software · ory · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8

In Hydra (an OAuth2 Server and OpenID Certified™ OpenID Connect Provider written in Go), before version 1.4.0+oryOS.17, when using client authentication method 'private_key_jwt' [1], OpenId specification says the following about assertion `jti`: "A unique identifier for the token, which can be used to prevent reuse of the token. These tokens MUST only be used once, unless conditions for reuse were negotiated between the parties". Hydra does not check the uniqueness of this `jti` value. Exploiting this vulnerability is somewhat difficult because: - TLS protects against MITM which makes it difficult to intercept valid tokens for replay attacks - The expiry time of the JWT gives only a short window of opportunity where it could be replayed This has been patched in version v1.4.0+oryOS.17
