  • Nov 2, 2026An unprivileged application can exploit a lack of package/signature validation in SystemUI's `RemoteQCController` when resolving a hardcoded `content://` URI.CVE-2026-58930 · Computers, phones & browsers · Google · reported by security@android.com

An unprivileged application can exploit a lack of package/signature validation in SystemUI's `RemoteQCController` when resolving a hardcoded `content://` URI. This allows the attacker to squat on a specific authority if the legitimate package is absent, inject spoofed UI elements into the trusted SystemUI Quick Controls panel, and gain a Background Activity Launch (BAL) grant from SystemUI when the user interacts with the spoofed element.

An unprivileged application can bypass the `android.car.permission.CAR_DISPLAY_IN_CLUSTER` permission by registering an activity with the `android.car.cluster.NAVIGATION` category and requesting navigation app focus. The privileged `ClusterHomeSample` application, acting as a confused deputy, resolves and launches this arbitrary third-party activity on the safety-critical instrument cluster display without enforcing the necessary permission check, allowing for persistent display of potentially misleading or distracting content.

Several psqlODBC entry points use an application-supplied column number or row index as an array index without validating it. SQLBindCol with a column number above 32767 wraps the binding count negative and a later copy runs off the array. A negative SQL_DESC_COUNT on an application row descriptor unbinds columns at negative indexes. SQLColAttribute with a very large column number uses a negative index. SQLSetPos(SQL_ADD) does not check the row number against the rowset size. An application that forwards untrusted column or row numbers exposes its process to out-of-bounds reads and writes. The psqlODBC parser for ODBC escape sequences in application SQL text writes the argument offsets of a {fn} escape into a fixed 16-entry stack array without a bound and does not initialize the array. An escape with too many arguments overflows the stack, and a reference to an unsupplied argument copies arbitrary bytes into the query. The copy of a {d}, {t}, {ts}, or {escape} body also writes one byte past a 128-byte stack buffer. Apache Wicket reads texts from the application's resource bundles — a localized label, a css class name — and writes some of them into the JavaScript and the markup it generates for a component. Those texts are placed inside single-quoted JavaScript string literals and inside quoted attribute values without being escaped for that context, so a text containing a quote ends the literal or the attribute, and what follows is parsed as script or as markup in the application's origin when the page loads. A resource bundle entry is authored for the application and does not say where the framework will write it. The same key is read by the framework into element text, where Wicket escapes it, and into the contexts below, where it did not. A text containing an apostrophe, which is ordinary in several languages, is enough to break the page; a text under the influence of another party is enough to run script. In org.apache.wicket:wicket-core, org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.upload.MultiFileUploadField writes the org.apache.wicket.mfu.delete message into a JavaScript string literal, and org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.Form writes the hidden-fields css class into the class attribute of

  • Oct 30, 2026Shopify App is a Rails engine for building Shopify applications.CVE-2026-63414 · Other software · Shopify · reported by GitHubHigh 7.6

Shopify App is a Rails engine for building Shopify applications. From 22.1.0 until 23.0.3, `token-exchange` authenticated controllers can expose a request-derived `shop` context instead of the identity from a verified Shopify ID token or active Shopify session. `current_shopify_domain` can resolve to the sanitized `shop` query parameter, so a request authenticated for one `shop` can cause application code to treat a different requested `shop` as current. Affected applications use `shopify_app` `token-exchange` authentication, accept authenticated requests with a `shop` query parameter, and rely on `current_shopify_domain` or `params[:shop]` for authorization, tenant lookup, stored access-token selection or `shop`-scoped data access. An attacker with a valid Shopify session token for one `shop` can supply another `shop` in that parameter and potentially obtain unauthorized application data or perform `shop`-scoped actions, depending on the application's authorization model. This issue is fixed in version 23.0.3.

  • Oct 30, 2026Element Call is a native Matrix video conferencing application.CVE-2026-62347 · Other software · element-hq · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9

Element Call is a native Matrix video conferencing application. From 0.16.0 until 0.20.3, the standalone Element Call `SPA` logs the `password` URL query parameter. When a user submits an error report, called a rageshake, these logs are shared with the application operator. Users can therefore unintentionally disclose the shared `password` used to encrypt the call, potentially compromising call confidentiality. Avoiding submission of bug reports or debug logs prevents this disclosure path in affected versions. Upgrading does not remove secrets from previously collected `rageshakes`, which require separate cleanup by the log-server operator. This issue is fixed in version 0.20.3.

Ring is a Clojure web applications library inspired by Python's WSGI and Ruby's Rack. Prior to 1.15.5, `wrap-nested-params` in the `ring.middleware.nested-params` namespace uses a backtracking regular expression to match parameter names from URL query strings and HTTP request bodies. An attacker can craft a parameter name that drives quadratic O(n^2) matching work, causing regular-expression denial of service in applications using the middleware. `Ring-Defaults` users are also exposed because nested-params is enabled by default. Applications omitting the middleware do not expose this parsing path. This issue is fixed in version 1.15.5.

Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. Prior to 3.0.0, POST /api/v1/ai/tools/create-pdf-from-html-agent accepts attacker-controlled htmlContent and passes it to WeasyPrint without CustomHtmlSanitizer, unlike the sanitized /api/v1/convert/html/pdf control path. HTTP and HTTPS resource references can make server-side requests to internal or cloud-metadata destinations, while file references can embed local content readable by the Stirling-PDF process into the generated PDF. Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. From 2.13.1 until 2.13.2, the POST /api/v1/convert/svg/pdf endpoint renders attacker-supplied SVG through Apache Batik, and a scheme-less root-relative image reference bypasses SvgSanitizer.isExternalUrl() before Batik resolves it against the file:///input.svg document base as a same-origin local file. The convert() and addSvgAsPage() paths in app/core/src/main/java/stirling/software/SPDF/utils/SvgToPdf.java can then render image-decodable server files into the returned PDF when sanitization is enabled, including without authentication on login-disabled deployments or with non-admin access when login is enabled. Prior to 1.5.7-beta.14, the `api_ns_plex` namespace in `bazarr/api/plex/oauth.py` omits `@authenticate` on its Resource handlers, while normal APIs require an API key and no global authentication hook compensates. Anonymous callers can invoke `POST /api/plex/oauth/logout` to clear credentials and disable the integration, or `POST /api/plex/apikey` to persist an attacker-selected key, without a PIN, account or state precondition. `POST /api/plex/oauth/pin` and `GET /api/plex/oauth/pin/<pin_id>/check` additionally allow an attacker who completes a PIN with an attacker-controlled Plex account to bind that account's token to the instance. `PlexPinCheck` skips state validation when `state_param` is absent and merely logs a mismatch without stopping execution. `POST /api/plex/select-server`, `POST /api/plex/oauth/servers`, `POST /api/plex/webhook/create`, `POST /api/plex/webhook/delete` and `POST /api/plex/encrypt-apikey` expose further `write_config()` operations. Campfire is a web-based chat application. In version 1.4.4 and earlier, when a Campfire message contains a link, the server fetches it to build an OpenGraph unfurl preview. `RestrictedHTTP::PrivateNetworkGuard` relied on Ruby's `IPAddr#private? `` IPAddr#loopback?`, and `IPAddr#link_local?` predicates plus IPv4-mapped and IPv4-compatible checks, which do not cover several special-use ranges. An authenticated user can post a link to a hostname resolving to CGNAT `100.64.0.0/10`, NAT64 `64:ff9b::/96` or `64:ff9b:1::/48`, or 6to4 `2002::/16` to bypass the guard and cause server-side requests to internal network resources. The NAT64 and 6to4 ranges can embed an internal IPv4 target. Confidentiality impact is limited to returned OpenGraph metadata, and most internal endpoints return none. There is no integrity or availability impact. An initial fix was released in version 1.4.5.

MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.0.0 until 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.10, the ReadableByteBuf.readLength() and ReadableByteBuf.readIntLengthEncodedNotNull() methods narrowed the protocol's unsigned 8-byte length-encoded integer to a Java int without checking that the value fit a non-negative integer. Values above Integer.MAX_VALUE could wrap to a negative or unrelated length that downstream allocation and read paths used. A malicious or compromised server, or a machine-in-the-middle attacker, could trigger NegativeArraySizeException, out-of-bounds failures, or oversized allocation behavior in client connection handling. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.10.

MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.0.0 until 3.3.7 and 3.4.5, during caching_sha2_password authentication, the authentication-more-data response was treated as a length-encoded byte array, memory was allocated from the server-declared length, and authResult[0] was accessed without ensuring a byte existed. A malicious or compromised server, or a machine-in-the-middle attacker, could declare a very large length or send an empty response before any password was transmitted. The malformed packet could cause excessive allocation or an unchecked ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException escaping from DriverManager.getConnection(). This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.7 and 3.4.5.

MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.0.0 until 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11, decoders for OK packet session-state blocks, column definition packets, text row data, or binary row data used server-declared lengths without confirming that the requested bytes remained in the receive buffer. The decoders could position reads, create sub-buffers, or decode strings beyond the packet boundary. A malicious or compromised server, or a machine-in-the-middle attacker, could trigger unchecked ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException or IllegalArgumentException failures inside JDBC calls and terminate connection handling. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11.

MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.0.0 until 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11, when CLIENT_SESSION_TRACK was negotiated, the OkPacket.parse() and OkPacket.parseWithInfo() paths allocated byte arrays using server-declared lengths for the OK packet info field and session-state variable names and values before confirming that the bytes remained in the packet. A malicious or compromised server, or a machine-in-the-middle attacker, could send a small OK packet declaring a much larger length and repeatedly force attacker-controlled heap allocations before the subsequent copy failed. This could create garbage-collection pressure or an OutOfMemoryError in the client application. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11.

MariaDB Connector/J is used to connect applications developed in Java to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.0.0 until 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11, the ClientMessage.validateLocalFileName() check used a regular expression that could match LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE text inside quoted identifiers, string literals, or comments instead of requiring a real statement. A malicious or compromised server, or a machine-in-the-middle attacker, could return crafted database or table identifiers that the connector reused in metadata or updatable-result queries, then answer with a LOCAL INFILE request for a client file. With allowLocalInfile enabled, this caused the connector to stream any readable client-host file named by the crafted text, including through DatabaseMetaData.getImportedKeys(), DatabaseMetaData.getExportedKeys(), or ResultSet.updateRow() paths. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.7, 3.4.5, and 3.5.11.

KeePassXC is a cross-platform community-driven port of the Windows application KeePass Password Safe. From 2.3.0 until 2.8.0, KeePassXC browser integration encrypts authorized responses in src/browser/BrowserMessageBuilder.cpp using a fixed 1 MiB output vector even though Botan::Sodium::crypto_box_easy() writes the plaintext length plus crypto_box_MACBYTES. A browser-protocol client that can access the per-user IPC endpoint, has a valid database association, and causes an unlocked database to generate and encrypt a sufficiently large authorized response can trigger a sequential out-of-bounds write before any response is delivered. P-Net before 1.0.3 passes the application alarm callback a data length derived from the variable part length field of a received RTA alarm frame without checking it against the length of the received frame. A short frame can make the callback receive a length of up to 65507 bytes. An application that copies the reported number of bytes reads past the end of the receive buffer. The attacker must have established an Application Relationship and requires ADJACENT network access. Applications that do not use the alarm data are not affected.

A flaw was found in the platform-mbean component of JBoss EAP, which provides management access to JVM-level metrics and configurations. The issue occurs because the handler for the read-resource operation on the runtime management resource fails to perform required Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) checks. • Oct 28, 2026InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments.CVE-2026-55561 · Other software · InvoicePlane · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

InvoicePlane is a self-hosted open source application for managing invoices, clients, and payments. Prior to 1.7.2-beta-1, guest users can approve or reject quotes belonging to any client, not just their assigned clients. The `approve()` and `reject()` methods in the Guest Quotes controller, `application/modules/guest/controllers/Quotes.php`, call `approve_quote_by_id($quote_id)` and `reject_quote_by_id($quote_id)` directly without the `where_in('ip_quotes.client_id', $this->user_clients)` scoping that sibling methods use. A guest user assigned to one client can change another client's quote status by supplying sequential integer `quote_id` values, and `email_quote_status()` also sends notification emails. Additionally, `generate_pdf()` calls `mark_viewed($quote_id)` before checking the client scope, allowing a guest user to mark another client's quote as viewed. These issues are fixed in version 1.7.2-beta-1 and the subsequent stable version 1.7.2.

AnkiMCP is an Anki addon that implements an MCP server, enabling AI assistants to interact with the Anki flashcard application. Prior to version 0.21.0, `anki_mcp_server/mcp_server.py` globally disables FastMCP DNS-rebinding protection through `TransportSecuritySettings` with `enable_dns_rebinding_protection=False`, including for the default local Streamable HTTP listener. The defaults in `anki_mcp_server/config.py` enable `http_enabled` on `127.0.0.1:3141`, with an empty `http_path` selecting the root endpoint. No bearer token, API key, session secret, strict `Host` allowlist or strict `Origin` allowlist is enforced before `initialize`, `tools/list` and `tools/call` reach MCP dispatch. A victim who visits a malicious web page while Anki and the listener are running can have browser requests rebound to loopback, allowing the attacker to `initialize` MCP, enumerate tools, read the local collection, and perform enabled non-destructive note/deck creation or updates. The attacker needs neither LAN position nor a local process. Available operations depend on enabled tool filters; destructive tools are hidden unless `enabled_destructive_tools` is opted into, limiting deletion-level impac
