  • Oct 28, 2026HTTP::Body versions before 1.24_01 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded buffering of chunked request bodies.CVE-2026-117501 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

HTTP::Body versions before 1.24_01 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded buffering of chunked request bodies. In chunked mode, used when no content length is given, add() holds each chunk in memory until all of it has arrived. A line that is not a chunk-size line, a size line without CRLF, or a size too large to fit an integer leaves the parser waiting forever, and every later add() grows the buffer. A remote attacker can exhaust memory in applications that pass chunked request bodies to HTTP::Body.

  • Oct 28, 2026HTTP::Body versions before 1.23_01 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via an unbounded multipart part header block.CVE-2026-116134 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

HTTP::Body versions before 1.23_01 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via an unbounded multipart part header block. The multipart parser takes everything up to the first blank line after a boundary as the part's header block, with no limit on its size or number of lines. Every line is stored in the part's header hash, so a block of short lines costs about 60 bytes of memory per input byte. A remote attacker can exhaust worker memory with a single request.

  • Oct 25, 2026Starman versions before 0.4019 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded buffering of chunked request bodies.CVE-2026-115824 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

Starman versions before 0.4019 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded buffering of chunked request bodies. The chunked body decoder keeps each chunk in memory until the whole chunk and its CRLF have arrived, and sets no limit on the length of a chunk-size line. A client that declares a huge chunk size and streams data, or sends a chunk-size line that never ends, grows the buffer for as long as it keeps sending. • Oct 21, 2026Unbounded memory accumulation in the stream message reassembly path of Apache bRPC (version < 1.18.0) on all platforms allows remote attackers to exhaust the meCVE-2026-80463 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

Unbounded memory accumulation in the stream message reassembly path of Apache bRPC (version < 1.18.0) on all platforms allows remote attackers to exhaust the memory of a server (denial of service) by sending an endless sequence of continuation data frames. Root Cause: The streaming RPC protocol bounds every single data frame by max_body_size, but a fragmented stream message accumulates continuation frames into one buffer (_pending_buf) without any limit on the accumulated size. A malicious peer that can open a stream can therefore keep sending continuation frames to make the receiver accumulate an arbitrarily large in-memory message. Since the default flow-control settings (socket_max_streams_unconsumed_bytes=0) do not throttle the sending rate, the receiver's memory grows until the process runs out of memory and crashes or becomes unavailable. Affected Scenarios: Services that accept streams from untrusted clients (for example using brpc::StreamAccept or brpc::StreamCreate with the built-in streaming protocol) are affected. How to Fix: (Choose one of the following options) 1. Upgrade bRPC to version 1.18.0, which fixes this issue. 2. Apply this patch: https://github.com/apach

When NLnet Labs Unbound 1.0.1 up to and including version 1.26.1 is configured with both a root trust anchor and an additional 'trust-anchor:' for an island-of-security zone whose parent is provably insecure under the root chain, a malicious actor with a forged NSEC reply with the SOA bit cleared can trick Unbound to treat the configured trust island as insecure. This happens because the DNSSEC validator in Unbound accepts and caches the NSEC insecure response bypassing the RRSIG validation that the validator was supposed to do. The acceptance of the NSEC record at the trust anchor apex was allowed due to and old fix for type DS and NSEC queries from clients when trust anchor for that name existed.

  • Oct 21, 2026In NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.26.1, an observable cache-level side-channel can be exposed with 'unwanted-reply-threshold > 0' configuratiCVE-2026-109125 · Other software · NLnet Labs · reported by sep@nlnetlabs.nlMedium 5.3

In NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.26.1, an observable cache-level side-channel can be exposed with 'unwanted-reply-threshold > 0' configurations (not a default configuration). If a response-like UDP datagram reaches the upstream source port currently used by a recursive query, but its TXID does not match any pending query, Unbound counts the packet as an unwanted reply. When the accumulated count reaches the configured threshold, Unbound clears the worker's RRset cache and message cache. This cache clear action does not destroy the current upstream UDP pending query. Therefore, an external observer can distinguish whether a candidate port matches the current upstream source port by checking whether an existing cached item has been cleared. This is a cache side-channel vulnerability that can be used to probe the upstream source port. Although the attack is not feasible on default configurations and the suggested value (10 million) makes it an ureliable attack on a public resolver, in scenarios where the attacker can keep a concurrent query window alive, the attacker can first filter the source port and then perform birthday-style guessing against the TXID, making

  • Oct 20, 2026Crypt::Age versions before 0.004 for Perl allow CPU exhaustion via an unbounded number of recipient stanzas, each costing an X25519 scalar multiplication in unwCVE-2026-85783 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

Crypt::Age versions before 0.004 for Perl allow CPU exhaustion via an unbounded number of recipient stanzas, each costing an X25519 scalar multiplication in unwrap_file_key. The header parser accepts any number of recipient stanzas, and unwrap_file_key tries every identity against every X25519 stanza. Each attempt runs a scalar multiplication, an HKDF and a ChaCha20-Poly1305 open. The header MAC cannot be checked first, because its key comes from the file key, which only a successful unwrap produces. Each stanza is 98 bytes of attacker-chosen header and buys one scalar multiplication per identity held, and the file is rejected only after every one of them has run. A caller reaches this through decrypt, decrypt_file or decrypt_filehandle whenever it decrypts a file it did not write.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: synaptics-rmi4 - fix GPF in suspend and resume when unbound Transport drivers (such as rmi_i2c and rmi_spi) invoke rmi_driver_suspend() and rmi_driver_resume() on their child rmi_dev device during system power management events. However, transport drivers are fully registered and operational even if the physical RMI driver failed to bind or probe the rmi_dev device. When rmi_driver_suspend() or rmi_driver_resume() is called on an unbound rmi_dev, dev_get_drvdata() returns NULL. Calling rmi_disable_irq() or rmi_enable_irq() without driver data attached causes a NULL pointer dereference and General Protection Fault when attempting to lock data->enabled_mutex. Fix this by checking if driver data is attached to rmi_dev in rmi_driver_suspend() and rmi_driver_resume(), exiting early if no driver data is present.

Netty's HTTP/3 codec (io.netty:netty-codec-http3) from 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.17.Final retains unbounded per-stream QPACK encoder state. QpackEncoder stores a queue and a dynamic-table index tracker for every encoded field section that references the QPACK dynamic table, keyed by the peer-controlled QUIC stream ID, and these entries are released only when the remote decoder sends a Section Acknowledgment or Stream Cancellation instruction — not when the HTTP/3 stream completes. There is no limit on the number of tracked streams, field sections, or retained bytes. A remote, unauthenticated HTTP/3 client can advertise a non-zero QPACK dynamic-table capacity, acknowledge the table insertion so the server reuses a dynamically indexed response header, and then omit all mandatory Section Acknowledgments while issuing sequential requests over a single QUIC connection, bypassing concurrent-stream limits and causing unbounded heap growth until the server exhausts memory (denial of service). Fixed in 4.2.18.Final.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Don't infer non-NULL from a pointer with an unbounded offset reg_not_null() decides that a register holds a non-NULL value by looking at its type alone. For pointer types that allow arithmetic the type only guarantees a non-NULL base, in case of an unbound offset the runtime offset value might still add up to NULL. Consider the followng program: r6 = bpf_map_lookup_elem(map, &0); /* present */ if (r6 == 0) return 0; r7 = bpf_map_lookup_elem(map, &1); /* absent, NULL at runtime */ r8 = r7; r8 -= r6; /* pointer - pointer: unknown scalar, -r6 */ r8 <<= 1; r8 >>= 1; /* any non-negative offset is accepted by */ /* check_reg_sane_offset_ptr() */ r6 += r8; /* verifier: map value; runtime: zero */ if (r7 != r6) return 0; *(u8 *)(r7 + 0); /* r7 is inferred non-NULL, both are zero */ At runtime both registers are zero, the comparison is true and the load faults with NULL pointer dereference. Require the offset to be within +-BPF_MAX_VAR_OFF in reg_not_null().

luci-app-adblock-fast a WebUI for fast, lightweight DNS-based ad-blocker for OpenWrt that works with dnsmasq, smartdns, or unbound. Prior to 1.2.4-2, the luci.adblock-fast.setCronEntry RPC method accepts an entry argument containing carriage-return or line-feed characters and serializes it into /etc/crontabs/root as though it were one logical line. An authenticated delegated user with the luci-app-adblock-fast write ACL can therefore create an additional physical root cron entry through applications/luci-app-adblock-fast/root/usr/share/rpcd/ucode/luci.adblock-fast, resulting in persistent command execution as UID 0 when cron runs. The issue is not demonstrated for unauthenticated callers or users without the component write ACL. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.2.4-2.

Novel vulnerabilities to launch algorithmic complexity attacks on DNSSEC have been researched under the term 'ReTrap'. These result in degradation of service when malicious zones are used to serve the algorithmic complexity vulnerabilities. NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including 1.26.0 is vulnerable to some of them. TagTrap, where the triple(Zone, Algo, KeyTag) matching mechanism introduces a significant attack vector when resolvers handle malicious responses containing numerous mismatched DNSKEY, RRSIG, and DS record. DelegationTrap, where constructing the chain-of-trust requires iterative validation of DNSKEY and DS records from the root zone downward. For deeply nested domains, this results in significant computational overhead. NsecTrap, where responses with excessive invalid NSEC records compel the resolver to validate each one. AdditionalTrap, where Unbound by default would try to DNSSEC validate the ADDITIONAL section as well. This can be exploited to waste validation resources by malicious users.

  • Sep 16, 2026NLnet Labs Unbound 1.12.0 up to and including 1.26.0 has a use-after-free vulnerability when compiled for DNS-over-HTTPs support with '--with-libnghttp2'.CVE-2026-82720 · Other software · NLnet Labs · reported by sep@nlnetlabs.nlMedium 5.9

NLnet Labs Unbound 1.12.0 up to and including 1.26.0 has a use-after-free vulnerability when compiled for DNS-over-HTTPs support with '--with-libnghttp2'. During failure code paths (i.e., RPZ drop query, jostle due to heavy traffic), a dropped DoH stream brings down the whole DoH session and does not account properly for other DoH streams in the same session. This leads to use-after-free in those code paths. If the prerequisites are satisfied (possible RPZ drop or heavy client traffic), a malicious actor can trigger the vulnerability with a single DoH connection and the appropriate traffic. Impact is limited as the reads are not user controlled and the use-after-free leads to early returns. However, a hardened allocator can catch the use-after-free and controllably terminate the process resulting to denial of service.
