In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fix FITRIM range alignment ntfs_trim_fs() aligns the start of a free extent up to the device discard granularity, but derives the discard length by aligning the original extent length down. When the free extent start is not discard-aligned, adding that length to the aligned start can extend the discard past the free extent and into allocated clusters. For example, with 4 KiB clusters and 32 KiB discard granularity, the free extent [4 KiB, 36 KiB) becomes the discard range [32 KiB, 64 KiB), so 28 KiB beyond the free extent may be discarded. Align the absolute end of the free extent down and derive the length from the two aligned endpoints. Skip extents that contain no full discard unit. Reproduced with a 4 KiB-cluster NTFS filesystem on scsi_debug configured for 32 KiB discard granularity and read-zero-after-trim. Before this change, FITRIM zeroed seven allocated 4 KiB clusters following an unaligned 32 KiB hole. With this change, the same data remains intact across FITRIM and remount.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: st21nfca: validate received frame size st21nfca_hci_i2c_repack() trims a received fraCVE-2026-98582 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: st21nfca: validate received frame size st21nfca_hci_i2c_repack() trims a received frame at its EOF marker before removing byte stuffing. It then assumes the truncated frame contains the LLC header and two CRC bytes, and it unconditionally reads the byte after an escape marker. A malformed frame can place EOF immediately after the start marker or can end its data portion with an escape marker. The former leaves too few bytes for check_crc(), while the latter makes the unstuffing loop read past the current skb length. Require the minimum framing bytes both before and after unstuffing. Use separate input and output cursors while removing byte stuffing, and reject an escape marker without its encoded byte. This keeps malformed frames within the received frame boundary before CRC processing.

  • Oct 8, 2026An integer underflow in WinCursorShapeUtils::trimTransparent() in GlavSoft TightVNC Server for Windows before 2.8.88 allows a local authenticated user to crash CVE-2026-107614 · Other software · GlavSoft · reported by 33c584b5-0579-4c06-b2a0-8d8329fcab9cMedium 6.1

An integer underflow in WinCursorShapeUtils::trimTransparent() in GlavSoft TightVNC Server for Windows before 2.8.88 allows a local authenticated user to crash the server, and potentially read out-of-bounds memory, by causing a cursor shape with a width or height of zero to be processed on the DXGI capture path. The loop bound width - 1 wraps to 0xFFFFFFFF, producing an access roughly 4 GB beyond the 64 KB cursor buffer; a monochrome cursor of height 1 also becomes 0 because getCursorHeight() halves the height in place.

  • Sep 15, 2026Strimzi provides a way to run an Apache Kafka cluster on Kubernetes or OpenShift in various deployment configurations.CVE-2026-55226 · Other software · strimzi · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4

Strimzi provides a way to run an Apache Kafka cluster on Kubernetes or OpenShift in various deployment configurations. In Strimzi 1.0.0 and earlier, deploying only the Topic Operator or only the User Operator through the Kafka custom resource leaves the Entity Operator ServiceAccount with RBAC permissions for both components. The excess permissions can allow access to KafkaUser custom resources and Secrets when the User Operator is absent, or access to KafkaTopic custom resources when the Topic Operator is absent. This issue is fixed in versions 1.0.1 and 1.1.0.

Strimzi provides a way to run an Apache Kafka cluster on Kubernetes or OpenShift in various deployment configurations. In Strimzi 1.0.0 and earlier, an attacker who can create a Kafka custom resource can set Kafka.spec.entityOperator watchedNamespace to a target namespace, causing the Cluster Operator to create a Role with full Secret CRUD permissions there and bind it to the Entity Operator ServiceAccount in the attacker's namespace. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: do not repeat ceph_trim_dentries() if no progress possible ceph_cap_reclaim_work() re-queues itself for as long as ceph_trim_dentries() returns -EAGAIN, which happens whenever a lease walk exhausts its `nr_to_scan` budget. This creates a busy loop that consumes CPU without making any progress when there is nothing to reclaim: with no cap pressure (`count==0`) and every scanned lease still valid, each pass runs the full scan budget down to zero and returns `-EAGAIN`, only to be queued again immediately. The dir-lease walk made this worse. When `expire_dir_lease` is `false` (i.e. we have no intention of reclaiming dir leases), __dir_lease_check() returned `TOUCH` for every valid lease. `TOUCH` moves the dentry to the tail of the list and resets `di->time` via __dentry_dir_lease_touch(), so a walk over N valid leases pointlessly rewrote the list, refreshed the timestamps (preventing them from ever aging out) and always drained `nr_to_scan`, guaranteeing the `-EAGAIN` requeue. Fix this in three steps: - Return `KEEP` instead of `TOUCH` when `expire_dir_lease` is `false`. If we are not going to reclai

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ata: libata-scsi: fix DSM TRIM for sector sizes larger than 2048 bytes ata_scsi_write_same_xlat() translates a SCSI WRITE SAME command with the UNMAP bit set into an ATA DATA SET MANAGEMENT TRIM command. The TRIM descriptor is built by ata_format_dsm_trim_descr() into the 2048-byte ata_scsi_rbuf staging buffer, and the number of bytes copied is compared against the logical sector size by the caller: size = ata_format_dsm_trim_descr(scmd, trmax, block, n_block); if (size != len) /* len == sdp->sector_size */ goto invalid_param_len; ata_format_dsm_trim_descr() clamps the copy length to ATA_SCSI_RBUF_SIZE (2048). On a device whose logical sector size exceeds that (e.g. a 4Kn device, where sector_size == 4096) the function can never return more than 2048, while the caller expects it to return sector_size. The comparison therefore always fails, so every TRIM is rejected with "Parameter list length error" and WARN_ON() splats on each attempt. TRIM / discard is thus completely broken on such devices. The descriptor was incorrectly sized from the logical sector size. A DSM TRIM payload is a list of 512-byte

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: xdr_buf_trim: clamp buf->len to avoid underflow xdr_buf_trim() trims `len` bytes fCVE-2026-89551 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: xdr_buf_trim: clamp buf->len to avoid underflow xdr_buf_trim() trims `len` bytes from the tail of an xdr_buf by walking the tail, pages, and head iovecs. Each per-section step uses min_t() so it never removes more bytes than that section holds, but the final accounting at the fix_len label subtracts the total bytes actually consumed from buf->len without any clamp: fix_len: buf->len -= (len - trim); When the caller has set buf->len to a value smaller than the sum of the iov_lens, (len - trim) can exceed buf->len and the unsigned subtraction wraps to near UINT_MAX. gss_krb5_unwrap_v2() reaches xdr_buf_trim() in exactly that state: buf->head[0].iov_len -= GSS_KRB5_TOK_HDR_LEN + headskip; buf->len = len - (GSS_KRB5_TOK_HDR_LEN + headskip); xdr_buf_trim(buf, ec + GSS_KRB5_TOK_HDR_LEN + tailskip); buf->len is a small wire-derived value while the iov_lens are at page scale, so the per-section loops legitimately consume far more bytes than buf->len records. The wrapped buf->len then propagates as the authoritative stream bound into every downstream XDR decoder. Fix by clamping

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: reject FITRIM ranges shorter than a cluster ocfs2_trim_mainbm() trims the global bitmap in cluster units, but its too-short range validation only checks sb->s_blocksize. On filesystems with a cluster size larger than the block size, a FITRIM range that is at least one block but shorter than one cluster is accepted and shifted down to len == 0. The later start + len - 1 and len -= ... arithmetic then underflows and can drive trimming past the requested range. Reject ranges shorter than s_clustersize instead. That preserves the existing -EINVAL behavior for requests that cannot discard even one allocation unit and keeps zero-cluster trims out of the group walk.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iomap: guard io_size EOF trim against concurrent truncate underflow iomap: fix zero paddinCVE-2026-72367 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iomap: guard io_size EOF trim against concurrent truncate underflow iomap: fix zero padding data issue in concurrent append writes changed ioend accounting so that io_size tracks only valid data within EOF. This trims io_size when a writeback range extends past end_pos: ioend->io_size += map_len; if (ioend->io_offset + ioend->io_size > end_pos) ioend->io_size = end_pos - ioend->io_offset; However, if end_pos ends up below ioend->io_offset, the subtraction becomes negative and is stored in size_t io_size, causing an unsigned wrap to a huge value. This can happen when writeback continues past byte-level EOF up to a block-aligned range, or when a concurrent truncate shrinks the file after end_pos was sampled in iomap_writeback_handle_eof(). A wrapped io_size can mislead append detection and corrupt completion-time size handling, since filesystem end_io paths consume io_size for decisions such as on-disk EOF updates and unwritten/COW completion ranges. Fix this by clamping io_size to zero when EOF has moved to or before the ioend start offset. This preserves the original intent of trimming io_s

In versions 0.49.0 through 0.50.0, when using a custom Cluster or Clients CA with a multistage CA chain consisting of multiple CAs, Strimzi incorrectly configures the trusted certificates for mTLS authentication on the internal as well as user-configured listeners. All CAs from the CA chain will be trusted. And users with certificates signed by any of the CAs in the chain will be able to authenticate. This issue affects only users using a custom Cluster or Clients CA with a multistage CA chain consisting of multiple CAs. It does not affect users using the Strimzi-managed Cluster and Clients CAs. It also does not affect users using custom Cluster or Clients CA with only a single CA (i.e., no CA chain with multiple CAs). This issue has been fixed in version 0.50.1. To workaround this issue, instead of providing the full CA chain as the custom CA, users can provide only the single CA that should be used.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix potential use-after-free bug when trimming caps When trimming the caps and just after the 'session->s_cap_lock' is released in ceph_iterate_session_caps() the cap maybe removed by another thread, and when using the stale cap memory in the callbacks it will trigger use-after-free crash. We need to check the existence of the cap just after the 'ci->i_ceph_lock' being acquired. And do nothing if it's already removed.
