  • Oct 30, 2026Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry.CVE-2026-55098 · Other software · Basekick-Labs · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry. Prior to the repository-verified 26.06.2 repair, the remediation of `CVE-2026-47735` leaves a cross-database authorization bypass through DuckDB table-valued I/O functions. In `internal/database/sandbox.go`, `allowed_directories` uses `cfg.LocalStorageRoot`, configured by `storage.local_path`, while `enable_external_access=false` blocks access outside that entire multi-tenant root. `GetStoragePath` in `internal/storage/util.go` stores all databases beneath it. In `internal/api/query.go`, `extractTableReferences` skips names followed by an opening parenthesis and `checkQueryPermissions` allows queries with no extracted table references, including tokens with `permissions: []`. The `userSQLReadParquetPattern` denylist catches literal `read_parquet(` and the earlier protection also blocks `arc_partition_agg(`, but misses the `parquet_scan` alias and `glob`, `parquet_metadata`, `parquet_schema`, `read_blob`, `read_csv_auto`, `read_json` and `read_text`. A request to `POST /api/v1/query` using these unblocked functions passes `ValidateSQLRequest` and `convertSQLToStoragePaths` without tenant authorization, allowing reads and

  • Oct 28, 2026opentelemetry-java is the Java implementation of the OpenTelemetry API for recording telemetry, and SDK for managing telemetry recorded by the API.CVE-2026-118259 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

opentelemetry-java is the Java implementation of the OpenTelemetry API for recording telemetry, and SDK for managing telemetry recorded by the API. Prior to 1.67.0, W3CTraceContextPropagator.extract() uses regex delimiter processing that can exhibit quadratic backtracking while parsing tracestate headers containing long runs of spaces or tabs without a following comma. An unauthenticated attacker whose headers reach extraction can repeatedly block request or event-loop threads and cause excessive CPU consumption, with practical impact bounded by ingress header-size limits, proxy configuration, and threading. This issue is fixed in version 1.67.0.

  • Oct 28, 2026The broker-side PushTelemetry API (KIP-714) validates only the compressed size of a client's metrics payload against telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB) before dCVE-2026-111073 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

The broker-side PushTelemetry API (KIP-714) validates only the compressed size of a client's metrics payload against telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB) before decompressing it. ClientTelemetryUtils.decompress() then decompresses the payload with no limit on the decompressed output size, growing a heap buffer until the compressed input is exhausted. A small, highly compressible payload (for example gzip-compressed zeros) can therefore expand to hundreds of megabytes of broker heap. Impact: An authenticated client can send a PushTelemetry request with a small compressed payload that decompresses to a very large size, consuming broker heap out of proportion to the request size. Repeated or concurrent requests can exhaust the broker heap and cause an OutOfMemoryError, degrading or crashing the broker; a client that targets multiple brokers can affect cluster availability. PushTelemetry is available to any authenticated client and is not gated by an ACL. Mitigation: Upgrade to Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.1, or 4.4.0. On affected versions there is no configuration that fully prevents the amplification, because telemetry.max.bytes bounds only the compressed size; lowering telemetry.ma

  • Oct 27, 2026OpenTelemetry Python provides the Python API and SDK for OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-116694 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

OpenTelemetry Python provides the Python API and SDK for OpenTelemetry. Prior to 1.45.0, JaegerPropagator.extract() in opentelemetry-propagator-jaeger processes inbound uberctx-* baggage values without entry, per-entry byte, or total-byte limits. Services that enable the optional Jaeger propagator can perform unnecessary CPU work and short-lived heap allocations when an untrusted carrier supplies numerous or oversized values, contributing to denial of service when transport-level limits do not constrain the input. Common default Python HTTP server limits reduce the practical impact, while custom getters, non-HTTP transports, or raised header limits increase exposure. This issue is fixed in version 1.45.0.

  • Oct 22, 2026OpenTelemetry Python provides the Python API and SDK for OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-114603 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

OpenTelemetry Python provides the Python API and SDK for OpenTelemetry. Prior to 1.45.1, the opentelemetry-api function TraceState.from_header in opentelemetry/trace/span.py, reached through TraceContextTextMapPropagator.extract, parses inbound W3C tracestate headers with an unbounded optional-whitespace regular expression. A malformed header containing a long run of spaces or tabs without a following comma causes quadratic backtracking before the member-count limit is applied. Services using the default W3C Trace Context propagator can therefore spend excessive CPU time on one unauthenticated request when the HTTP server, parser, gateway, or custom carrier accepts a sufficiently large header. The processing can occupy a synchronous worker or delay unrelated requests on the same asynchronous event loop. The impact is limited to availability and does not expose or modify telemetry data or allow code execution. This issue is fixed in version 1.45.1.

CWE-306: Missing Authentication for Critical Function in the ait.core.server telemetry and command broker (ait-server) in NASA-AMMOS AIT-Core through 3.1.1 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker with network access to the ZeroMQ message bus to inject spacecraft command data, exfiltrate command and telemetry traffic, inject forged telemetry, or disrupt the command and telemetry bus. The ait-server ZeroMQ broker binds its XSUB and XPUB sockets to all network interfaces by default without authentication or transport security. An attacker able to reach TCP port 5559 can publish messages onto internal topics, including the __commands__ command topic. With the shipped default configuration, command messages are forwarded through command_stream and emitted on the command-uplink UDP path. An attacker able to reach TCP port 5560 can subscribe to command and telemetry traffic on the ground bus. AIT-Core 3.1.2 changes the default ZeroMQ bind addresses to loopback.

The attribute is emitted by default and is not controlled by enhancedDatabaseReporting or another opt-in setting. Configured observability backends therefore receive database account names that may expose service topology, role or environment information, and account naming patterns. This issue is fixed in versions 0.66.0, 0.65.0, 0.67.0, 0.46.0, 0.73.0, and 0.40.0 of the respective packages.

  • Sep 16, 2026OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-81872 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. Prior to version 0.21.0, the go.opentelemetry.io/otel/sdk/log BatchingProcessor can enter a tight CPU loop when attacker-driven log emission fills its asynchronous export buffer while the exporter is backpressured. NewBatchingProcessor wraps the exporter with newBufferExporter(exporter, 1), and the poll loop calls queue.TryDequeue and bufferExporter.EnqueueExport before immediately signaling pollTrigger whenever the queue remains at or above batchSize. Because a failed nonblocking EnqueueExport leaves the queue length unchanged, the processor repeatedly retries without waiting for its ticker, exhausting CPU and degrading or denying service in the embedding process. This issue is fixed in version 0.21.0.

  • Sep 16, 2026OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-81871 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. Prior to version 0.21.0, the exporters/otlp/otlplog/otlploggrpc package loads OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_LOGS_CERTIFICATE, OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_CERTIFICATE, and related client certificate environment variables through loadEnvTLS into cfg.tlsCfg, but newGRPCDialOptions does not apply cfg.tlsCfg when creating gRPC transport credentials. The environment-only TLS path instead uses credentials.NewTLS with system roots and no configured client certificate, bypassing intended private CA pinning and mutual TLS unless the application also supplies WithTLSCredentials. A network attacker able to intercept or spoof the collector connection with a system-trusted certificate can read or alter log telemetry. This issue is fixed in version 0.21.0.

  • Sep 16, 2026OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-81869 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1

OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. From version 1.10.0 until 1.33.0, the sdk/trace/span.go attribute truncation path can fail to enforce AttributeValueLengthLimit for string and string-slice attributes containing the valid Unicode replacement character U+FFFD. safeTruncateValidUTF8 treats the valid replacement rune as invalid UTF-8 and returns the original input, while strings.ToValidUTF8 leaves that valid rune unchanged, so a second safeTruncate attempt can also return the oversized value. An attacker who controls span attribute content can retain values longer than the configured limit, increasing per-span memory use and weakening denial-of-service protection in the instrumented process. This issue is fixed in version 1.33.0.

  • Sep 16, 2026OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry.CVE-2026-81870 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubLow 2

OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. From version 1.5.0 to 1.44.0, sdk/trace.NewTracerProvider emits a TracerProvider created internal Info-level diagnostic event whose MarshalLog implementations recursively include span processor, exporter, and client configuration. Applications that call otel.SetLogger to enable OpenTelemetry internal Info logging can therefore record OTLP gRPC and HTTP collector endpoints, the OTLP HTTP Insecure flag, and complete Zipkin collector URLs. A person or system with access to those logs can learn internal collector topology and can recover credentials or tokens embedded in Zipkin URL user information or query strings. The default OpenTelemetry logger does not emit the event, and this path does not log OTLP authentication headers, TLS key material, or span payloads. This issue is fixed in version 1.45.0.

  • Sep 15, 2026The OpenTelemetry Collector Contrib repository contains components for the OpenTelemetry Collector.CVE-2026-55701 · Other software · open-telemetry · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

The OpenTelemetry Collector Contrib repository contains components for the OpenTelemetry Collector. Prior to 0.151.0, the githubreceiver validates the receiver/githubreceiver/config.go RequiredHeaders configuration at startup, but receiver/githubreceiver/trace_receiver.go handleReq() does not check those headers on incoming webhook requests. An unauthenticated sender can therefore bypass an operator's required_headers authentication control and submit arbitrary webhook payloads. When the Secret field is empty, github.ValidatePayload also skips HMAC validation, leaving the webhook endpoint without either configured authentication mechanism. Successful exploitation can inject fabricated CI/CD trace data into the observability pipeline. This issue is fixed in version 0.151.0.

OpenTelemetry, also known as OTel, is a vendor-neutral open source Observability framework for instrumenting, generating, collecting, and exporting telemetry data such as traces, metrics, and logs. Prior to 0.154.0, the Sentry exporter reads the remote OTLP sender-controlled service.name resource attribute in exporter/sentryexporter/sentry_exporter.go through extractProjectSlug and getOrCreateProjectEndpoint, passes the raw project slug to GetOTLPEndpoints and GetProjectKeys in exporter/sentryexporter/sentry_client.go, and interpolates it into a Sentry API URL without applying projectSlugRegexp through validateRoutingConfig at runtime in exporter/sentryexporter/config.go. Special characters can turn the expected path suffix into query data in all deployments or introduce slash and dot segments that traverse paths when the Sentry deployment normalizes them, while the Collector attaches its operator-configured bearer token to the request. The OpenTelemetry Operator is a Kubernetes Operator for the OpenTelemetry Collector. Prior to 0.152.0, cmd/otel-allocator TargetAllocator instances with targetAllocator.prometheusCR.enabled set to true preserve a selected ServiceMonitor endpoint's bearerTokenFile value as HTTPClientConfig.Authorization.CredentialsFile. A tenant who can create or update a ServiceMonitor matched by serviceMonitorSelector and serviceMonitorNamespaceSelector can point bearerTokenFile at a file in the Collector pod, including /var/run/secrets/kubernetes.io/serviceaccount/token, and direct scraping to a tenant-controlled endpoint. The Collector reads that file at scrape time and sends its contents as bearer authorization on every scrape interval. Exploitation also requires the Collector service-account token or another sensitive file to be mounted and the Collector to reach the chosen target. The DenyFSAccessThroughSMs control was absent, allowing disclosure of the Collector's service-account JWT or other mounted files, and resulting Kubernetes API impact is limited by the Collector service account's permissions. • Aug 27, 2026The OpenFaaS gateway registers GET /system/telemetry in gateway/main.go and, when basic_auth is enabled, wraps each administrative /system/* handler in auth.DecCVE-2026-81664 · Other software · openfaas · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

The OpenFaaS gateway registers GET /system/telemetry in gateway/main.go and, when basic_auth is enabled, wraps each administrative /system/* handler in auth.DecorateWithBasicAuth. TelemetryHandler was left out of that wrap block from 0.27.11, which introduced the route, until 0.27.14, which added it. On an affected gateway the route therefore reaches the forwarding proxy with no credential check and returns whatever the configured provider serves for /system/telemetry, so any client that can reach the gateway port can read the provider's telemetry regardless of the basic_auth setting. The exposed content depends on the provider, and covers resource and invocation metrics for faasd and pod or cluster state for faas-netes.

OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. From version 0.11.0 through 1.44.0, the OpenTracing bridge's bridgeSpan contains an unsynchronized extraBaggageItems map which can cause a panic. Because Go maps are not safe for concurrent read/write access, concurrent SetBaggageItem and correlation.MapFromContext calls on the same hooked bridgeSpan can trigger a fatal runtime error—such as concurrent map read and map write or concurrent map iteration and map write—terminating the process and causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 1.45.0.

  • Aug 21, 2026Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry.CVE-2026-48106 · Other software · Basekick-Labs · reported by GitHubHigh 8.3

Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry. Prior to version 26.06.1, Arc Enterprise's cluster replication receiver at `internal/cluster/replication/receiver.go` validates only the wire-format envelope (length, opcode) of inbound messages. The `MsgReplicateSync` payload itself is accepted without any application-layer authentication — no HMAC, no signature, no per-message nonce. The replication stream is protected at the transport layer by TLS / mTLS, but there is no protection against application-layer message tampering or replay once a peer is on the cluster network. This is fixed in 2026.06.1. Some workarounds are available. Restrict cluster network access to known-trusted peers via strict firewall rules, audit replication logs for unexpected `MsgReplicateSync` traffic, and/or disable cluster mode until the fix is available.

Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry. Prior to version 26.06.1, Arc Enterprise's Raft FSM (`internal/cluster/raft/fsm.go:applyRegisterFile`) accepts attacker-chosen file paths in manifest-registration proposals without validating them against the configured storage backend. The only check is that the path is non-empty. There is no parent-traversal (`..`) rejection, no allowlist of legitimate prefixes, no scheme restriction (`s3://` vs local), and no length bound. This is fixed in 2026.06.1. Some workarounds are available. Restrict cluster network access to known-trusted peers via strict firewall rules, audit the cluster manifest for unexpected paths (any path not matching the configured storage backend root is suspect), and/or disable cluster mode until the fix is available.

  • Aug 21, 2026Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry.CVE-2026-48050 · Other software · Basekick-Labs · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry. Versions prior to 26.06.1 register Go's `net/http/pprof` handlers at `/debug/pprof/*` via `app.Use(pprof.New())` in `internal/api/server.go`, and `/debug/pprof` is added to `PublicPrefixes` in `cmd/arc/main.go`. The auth middleware short-circuits before the token check on prefix match, so the endpoints are reachable without any authentication. Version 26.06.1 contains a patch. Some workarounds are available. Block `/debug/pprof*` at a reverse proxy / load balancer in front of Arc, restrict Arc's API port to known-trusted networks via firewall rules, and/or patch the running build: comment out `app.Use(pprof.New())` in `internal/api/server.go` and rebuild.

  • Aug 21, 2026Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry.CVE-2026-47735 · Other software · Basekick-Labs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

Arc is an open, SQL-native time-series database for telemetry. Prior to version 26.06.1, Arc's user-SQL validator (`internal/api/query.go:ValidateSQLRequest`) blocked only `read_parquet(` and `arc_partition_agg(` via regex denylist. The broader DuckDB I/O function family — `read_csv_auto`, `read_csv`, `read_json`, `read_json_auto`, `read_text`, `read_blob`, `glob`, `parquet_metadata`, `parquet_schema`, `read_xlsx`, etc. — was not blocked. RBAC table-reference extraction inspected only `FROM`/`JOIN` clauses, so scalar table functions in the `SELECT` list slipped past both layers. This is fixed in 2026.06.1 via a structural sandbox at the DuckDB layer. After lockdown, DuckDB refuses to open any file outside the allowlist and refuses further `INSTALL`/`LOAD`. Already-loaded extensions remain callable. Some workarounds are available. Restrict API access to known-trusted networks via firewall rules or, as a temporary mitigation, add `read_csv*`/`read_json*`/`glob` etc. to `dangerousSQLPattern` in `internal/api/query.go`.

Ground Station is a browser-based suite for satellite tracking, SDR reception, hardware control, and telemetry decoding. Prior to version 0.4.13, the unauthenticated configure-sdr Socket.IO command accepts a recordingPath for the sigmf-playback SDR and backend/handlers/entities/sdr.py stores it without validation before backend/hardware/sigmfprobe.py opens the path without enforcing containment. An absolute path or parent-directory escape ending in .sigmf-meta is parsed as JSON and returned in reply["data"]["metadata"] by the get-sdr-parameters flow. Exploitation requires the metadata file to be readable JSON and to have a sibling .sigmf-data file, but it can disclose contents outside backend/data/recordings without authentication. This issue is fixed in version 0.4.13.

  • Aug 19, 2026Ground Station is a browser-based suite for satellite tracking, SDR reception, hardware control, and telemetry decoding.CVE-2026-53451 · Other software · sgoudelis · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

Ground Station is a browser-based suite for satellite tracking, SDR reception, hardware control, and telemetry decoding. Prior to version 0.4.13, the unauthenticated save-waterfall-snapshot Socket.IO command passes attacker-controlled snapshotName input from backend/handlers/entities/sdr.py to backend/server/snapshots.py, where os.path.join permits an absolute path or parent-directory traversal and writes attacker-controlled base64-decoded bytes outside backend/data/snapshots. An attacker can write a logging YAML file containing a logging.config.dictConfig callable factory, use the unauthenticated update-app-config operation to set log_config to that file, and invoke restart_service. During restart, backend/common/logger.py passes the YAML through resolve_log_config_path(), yaml.safe_load(), and logging.config.dictConfig(), which executes the factory with service privileges and can also cause a persistent crash loop. This issue is fixed in version 0.4.13.

OpenTelemetry Rust is the Rust OpenTelemetry implementation. In 0.32.0 and earlier, BaggagePropagator::extract_with_context in opentelemetry_sdk did not enforce W3C Baggage size limits before parsing an inbound baggage header, so a large attacker-controlled header could cause unnecessary CPU work and short-lived heap allocations while parsing entries later discarded by the SDK's baggage storage limits. OpenTelemetry Java Instrumentation provides OpenTelemetry auto-instrumentation and instrumentation libraries for Java. In versions prior to 2.27.0, the RMI context propagation payload reader limits the number of context entries but does not limit the aggregate size of the strings read from the stream. An attacker who can reach an RMI endpoint on an instrumented JVM can send an oversized context propagation payload. This can cause excessive memory allocation while the JVM reads the payload, potentially leading to denial of service. Prior to version 0.0.17, `go.opentelemetry.io/otel/schema/v1.0` and `go.opentelemetry.io/otel/schema/v1.1` leaks one file descriptor on each successful `ParseFile` call. `ParseFile` opens the schema file and passes it to `Parse` without closing it; repeated parsing in a long-running process can exhaust the process file descriptor limit and cause denial of service. Exploitation depends on a consuming application exposing repeated schema parsing to an attacker-controlled path. Version 0.0.17 contains a patch for the issue.
