  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: drain session procfs readers before dropping table references Session registration CVE-2026-99280 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: drain session procfs readers before dropping table references Session registration failure and connection cleanup can drop the table reference while the per-session procfs entry is still accessible. If a reader holds the last remaining reference, its final put calls proc_remove() from its own callback and waits for that callback to finish. Remove the procfs entry before dropping the table reference in the registration failure path. Queue sessions removed during connection cleanup and drain their procfs readers after releasing both session locks, then return their table references. Keep the global hash node unhashed while a session is queued so a concurrent unregister cannot drop the reference again. Previous-session replacement also destroys the file table before the session is finally freed. Detach the idr under the lock used by procfs file counters, and report zero files after it has been detached. This prevents a reader from accessing the idr during or after its destruction.

  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reclaim ended sessions on logoff and expiration LOGOFF and previous-session replaceCVE-2026-99279 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reclaim ended sessions on logoff and expiration LOGOFF and previous-session replacement leave sessions Expired with a zero credential expiry. Ended sessions can retain their memory and connection slots when no further setup arrives on the owning connection. Unpublish a logged-off session while the request reference keeps its response signing and encryption keys alive. Remove its procfs entry before dropping the table reference so a reader cannot remove its own entry on the last put. Clear proc_entry after removal to avoid removing it twice. Reclaim ended sessions from the global table in the existing expiration worker before it acquires conn_list_lock. Only select Expired sessions with zero credential expiry and no references beyond the table reference. Keep sessions whose Kerberos credentials expired available for reauthentication. Unlink the session from its setup connection and all channel connections, so SMB2 sessions and sessions with only secondary SMB3 channels are covered. The session already holds connection references, and sessions_table_lock prevents concurrent channel removal. Queue sessions

  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: limit sessions on each connection The pending setup limit only counts InProgress seCVE-2026-99278 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: limit sessions on each connection The pending setup limit only counts InProgress sessions. A client can complete authentication repeatedly and retain an unbounded number of Valid sessions on one connection. Reserve a connection slot before allocating a session and retain a connection reference while authentication is in progress. The first SMB3 channel takes over that reservation; binding to another connection reserves one slot there. Reauthentication and authentication continuation reuse the existing reservation. Return slots on allocation or insertion failure, channel removal, and final session destruction. Accept max_sessions_per_connection in reserved startup-request space and default to 64 when older tools leave it zero. Keep the request size and existing field offsets unchanged. Expose the configured limit in procfs. The existing connection limits bound the aggregate number of sessions without a separate global session allocation limit.

  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: hold a connection reference for each session channel ksmbd_session_unregister() remCVE-2026-99277 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: hold a connection reference for each session channel ksmbd_session_unregister() removes a session from the global and per- connection tables before dropping the table reference. A concurrent reference holder can keep the session and its channel list alive after those removals. Connection cleanup can no longer find the unpublished session to remove its channels. Since a channel only stores a raw conn pointer, the connection can be freed while another session reference holder is still accessing it, for example during SMB3.1.1 binding or a procfs read. Take a connection reference when registering a channel and release it on insertion failure, channel removal, or final session destruction. Keep the channels and signing keys until the session is destroyed so a response can still be signed after the session has been unregistered.

  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: defer connection scavenging while session locks are busy The expiration worker holdCVE-2026-99276 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: defer connection scavenging while session locks are busy The expiration worker holds conn_list_lock for reading while checking for authenticated sessions. Without this change, the check can wait for conn->session_lock or sessions_table_lock. In destroy_previous_session(), the status updates after ksmbd_conn_wait_idle_sess() run with both session locks held for writing. Both the KSMBD_SESS_GOOD error path and the KSMBD_SESS_NEED_SETUP success path call ksmbd_all_conn_set_status(), which takes conn_list_lock for reading. A writer queued on conn_list_lock can block these new read acquisitions. The worker then waits for a session lock held by destroy_previous_session(), which waits behind the writer. The writer cannot proceed until the worker releases conn_list_lock. Try both session locks instead of waiting in the scavenging check. Keep the connection when either lock is busy and let the periodic worker retry later.

  • Nov 7, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: reject short SESSION_SETUP responses smb2_check_message() accepts frames shorCVE-2026-99275 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: reject short SESSION_SETUP responses smb2_check_message() accepts frames shorter than struct smb2_pdu when the SMB2 status is non-zero, before the minimum-PDU check added by b4694f269e66d. A 64-byte STATUS_MORE_PROCESSING_REQUIRED SESSION_SETUP response is therefore accepted even though it cannot contain the SecurityBufferOffset and SecurityBufferLength fields. The parser then reads those fields from stale bytes left in the reused receive buffer by an earlier frame. With a long stale SecurityBufferLength, decode_ntlmssp_challenge() copies up to about 64 KB from beyond the receive object and sends the data back to the server in the NTLMv2 AUTHENTICATE target info. Reject short MPR SESSION_SETUP responses before the short-error path, and validate SecurityBufferOffset + SecurityBufferLength against the received response length before decoding the challenge. The ordering bypass is not new: the short-error early return predates b4694f269e66d, and the unvalidated SecurityBufferLength read predates the 2016 raw NTLMSSP split in 166cea4dc3a4, so all supported stable trees are affected. Reproduced on 6.6.8

  • Nov 6, 2026CodeChecker's web server fails to fully invalidate a session token on logout when the server runs with more than one API worker process (the default).CVE-2026-84155 · Other software · Ericsson · reported by 85b1779b-6ecd-4f52-bcc5-73eac4659dcfMedium 5.3

CodeChecker's web server fails to fully invalidate a session token on logout when the server runs with more than one API worker process (the default). Each worker process maintains its own in-memory session cache; logout only clears the cache of the single worker that handles the request (plus the shared database record). Other workers continue to honor the destroyed token from their stale in-memory copies until the session's lifetime expires. An attacker who has captured a valid token can therefore keep impersonating the user after the user has logged out.

A flaw was found in the authentication session handling of the keycloak-services component in Keycloak. The issue occurs because the system fails to verify if an authenticator is valid for the current authentication flow when switching between the standard authentication path and the reset credentials path. The Bluetooth Classic AVDTP layer defers releasing a session's stream endpoints: bt_avdtp_l2cap_disconnected() in subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/avdtp.c ends with k_work_submit(&session->_release_work), placing the embedded struct k_work on the system work queue's pending list. When the same struct bt_avdtp object is immediately reused for a new signalling connection, the session memory is re-initialized — a2dp_get_connection() in subsys/bluetooth/host/classic/a2dp.c memset()s the whole struct bt_a2dp, and bt_avdtp_l2cap_accept() / bt_avdtp_connect() call k_work_init() on session->_release_work — while that work item is still linked into k_sys_work_q.pending. Zeroing a linked sys_snode_t truncates the list while its tail pointer keeps pointing past the truncation. The reuse window is deterministic rather than a race. All host RX processing runs on the Bluetooth RX work queue at a cooperative priority (CONFIG_BT_RX_PRIO), while _release_work is submitted to the lower-priority system work queue, so the release handler cannot run until the RX thread blocks. Improper Session Invalidation after Authentication Credential Change vulnerability in team-alembic ash_authentication allows an attacker holding a victim's session token to stay signed in after the victim resets or changes their password. With apply_on_password_change? true, AshAuthentication.AddOn.LogOutEverywhere.Transformer adds OnPasswordChange to update actions as a global change guarded by where: changing(hashed_password). That condition is evaluated before the action's before_action hooks run, but AshAuthentication.Strategy.Password.HashPasswordChange sets the new hash in a before_action hook, so for every non-atomic password change the condition is false and the user's stored tokens are not revoked. The generated password reset action and the installer's change_password action are both non-atomic. In Eclipse ThreadX NetX Duo versions 6.0 through 6.5.2.202603a, the NetX Secure DTLS server allocates a session from its fixed session pool for the first datagram from any unrecognised address and port, before the cookie exchange, and never releases a session whose handshake stalls. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exhaust the pool with one spoofed datagram per source and deny DTLS service to legitimate clients until the application resets the sessions.

A resource exhaustion issue exists in Free5GC v4.2.3 during PFCP Session Establishment failure handling. When the SMF does not receive a PFCP Session Establishment Response from the UPF, allocated UE IP address resources are not properly released. Repeated failed session establishment attempts can therefore exhaust the UE IP address pool, preventing new UEs from establishing PDU sessions and resulting in denial of service.

  • Nov 2, 2026@fastify/secure-session is a session plugin for Fastify that stores an encrypted session in a cookie.CVE-2026-117549 · Other software · @fastify/secure-session · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbMedium 4.2

@fastify/secure-session is a session plugin for Fastify that stores an encrypted session in a cookie. In versions 7.5.0 through 8.4.1, when the plugin is configured with the signed cookie option, it calls the cookie unsign routine but, when the signature check reports the value as invalid, still passes the original cookie value to the session decoder, so a session whose signature did not validate is decrypted anyway. The practical effect appears when an application supplies the cookie signing secret independently of the session encryption key and rotates only the signing secret to retire existing sessions while keeping the encryption key active, because a holder of an old session cookie can strip the now obsolete signature and keep using the session. The attacker must already possess an unexpired encrypted session cookie and needs neither secret, and cannot forge session data, extend expiry, or survive rotation of the encryption key. The issue is fixed in @fastify/secure-session 8.4.2, which no longer decodes the session when the signed cookie option is set and the signature check fails, and users should upgrade to 8.4.2 or later. As a workaround, rotate the session encryption key

  • Nov 1, 2026Session fixation in Apache Wicket.CVE-2026-82840 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.2

Session fixation in Apache Wicket. org.apache.wicket.authroles.authentication.AuthenticatedWebSession is the authentication base class of Wicket's role-based security module, and its signIn(String, String) method is the entry point through which an application authenticates a session. Renewing the container session id at that point is the standard defence against an attacker who has fixed a session id in a victim's browser, and Wicket provides that renewal as org.apache.wicket.Session#changeSessionId(), whose documentation directs callers to invoke it on login for exactly that reason. AuthenticatedWebSession#signIn(String, String) calls it inside a guard that succeeds only on the first transition of the session's signed-in flag. The session id is therefore renewed when a session first signs in, and is not renewed when a session that is already signed in authenticates again. signIn(String, String) returns true either way, so neither the caller nor the application can tell that the renewal did not happen. An application is affected where it authenticates through AuthenticatedWebSession, which AuthenticatedWebApplication requires and which the shipped UsernamePasswordPanel uses, an

  • Nov 1, 2026Insufficient session expiration in Apache Wicket.CVE-2026-82559 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgLow 2.3

Insufficient session expiration in Apache Wicket. org.apache.wicket.protocol.ws.WebSocketSettings#newWebSocketRequest() wraps the WebSocket upgrade request in an org.apache.wicket.protocol.ws.api.ServletRequestCopy, which is kept for the life of the connection and used to build the request for every frame that arrives on it. Copying the request is deliberate and is documented as such, because the container recycles the upgrade request once the handshake is over. The container session is copied along with it, into an org.apache.wicket.protocol.ws.api.HttpSessionCopy holding the session attributes as they stood when the connection was opened. That second copy is not necessary, because a session, unlike a request, is not discarded at the end of a request. Every frame afterwards resolves its Wicket session through ISessionStore#lookup(), which reads it out of the copy, so the connection is detached from the live container session for as long as it stays open. Ending the session through the container therefore does not end the connection. After an idle timeout, an HttpSession#invalidate() call made from a filter or from a security framework, a container-managed logout, or a session re

  • Nov 1, 2026HTTP::Session versions before 0.54 for Perl allow memcached command injection via unfiltered session ids in HTTP::Session::Store::CHI.CVE-2026-13575 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

HTTP::Session versions before 0.54 for Perl allow memcached command injection via unfiltered session ids in HTTP::Session::Store::CHI. The session id from the client's cookie reaches the CHI cache unchanged. The sibling HTTP::Session::Store::Memcached rejects ids that contain control characters, but the CHI store has no such check, and CHI does not escape keys for its memcached drivers. With a memcached driver, a CR and LF in the session id end the cache command early, and the server reads the bytes after them as further commands.

WebDyne versions from 2.014 before 3.022 for Perl issue session cookies without the Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite attributes. WebDyne::Session sets its session cookie with only a name, value and path. Browsers then send the session ID over plain HTTP and with cross-site requests, and expose it to page scripts. • Oct 30, 2026pgAdmin 4 did not invalidate a user's existing sessions when their password changed, either through the user's own change password dialog or through an administCVE-2026-116251 · Other software · pgadmin.org · reported by f86ef6dc-4d3a-42ad-8f28-e6d5547a5007Low 2.3

pgAdmin 4 did not invalidate a user's existing sessions when their password changed, either through the user's own change password dialog or through an administrator resetting it in User Management. A session established before the change, for example on another device or by someone who had obtained the old password or a session cookie, therefore stayed logged in after the change, which is the step a user or administrator takes precisely to cut such access off. It remained usable until it expired. The fix rotates the user's session identifier (fs_uniquifier) whenever the password is changed, so every other session of that user is logged out. The session that made the change is logged in again and keeps its database connections. Saved server passwords, including those for shared servers, are re-encrypted under the new key; any that cannot be decrypted are cleared and the user is told. If re-encryption fails, the sessions are still revoked and the saved passwords are cleared rather than the change failing. This issue affects pgAdmin 4: before 9.19.

CallBackery versions before 0.62.0 for Perl allow session cookie forgery via a signing secret generated with rand(). The secret that signs session cookies is built from two calls to the built-in rand(), which is seeded with 32 bits. The secret therefore has at most 2**32 possible values, and one signed cookie is enough to test each candidate offline. An attacker who obtains a single session cookie can recover the secret and sign cookies for any user, including an administrator.

  • Oct 30, 2026Business::GoCardless versions before 1.01 for Perl complete redirect flows without checking the session token, letting a leaked redirect flow ID create paymentsCVE-2026-119038 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 6.1

Business::GoCardless versions before 1.01 for Perl complete redirect flows without checking the session token, letting a leaked redirect flow ID create payments against another customer's mandate. confirm_resource takes no session token from the caller. It reads the redirect flow back from the GoCardless API and completes it with the token from that response, so the check that the flow is completed by the session that started it always passes. It then creates the requested payment or subscription against the flow's mandate. Since version 1.00, a flow that already has a mandate is returned as confirmed without being completed again, so the same ID creates a new payment on every call. A remote attacker who obtains another customer's redirect flow ID can create payments or subscriptions against that customer's mandate.
