In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watch_queue: Fix note pool publication race in watch_queue_set_size() There is a race between watch_queue_set_size() and post_one_notification(). watch_queue_set_size() publishes wqueue->notes, notes_bitmap, nr_pages and nr_notes with plain stores, and post_one_notification() reads them with plain loads under a different lock, so nothing orders the four stores against the poster's loads: depending on the build, notes can be stored last (gcc 14 on x86-64 does this). Since keyctl_watch_key() lets a watch attach to a queue before it is sized, post_one_notification() can already be running on another CPU at that moment: it reads nr_notes > 0, passes its bounds check, and then reads notes while it is still NULL, dereferencing notes[0]. An unprivileged user triggers this reliably by watching one of its own keys through a notification pipe and racing ioctl(IOC_WATCH_QUEUE_SET_SIZE) on that pipe against keyctl(KEYCTL_SETPERM) on the key from another CPU, triggering: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 RIP: 0010:post_one_notification.isra.0+0xa2/0x1e0 Call Trace: __post_watch_notifi

  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: page_pool: keep frag_offset aligned for odd-sized requests page_pool_alloc_frag_netmem() rCVE-2026-99127 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: page_pool: keep frag_offset aligned for odd-sized requests page_pool_alloc_frag_netmem() rounds the requested fragment size with size = ALIGN(size, dma_get_cache_alignment()); dma_get_cache_alignment() returns 1 unless the architecture defines ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN, which DMA-coherent architectures such as x86 do not. There the ALIGN() is a no-op and pool->frag_offset advances by the raw, unrounded size. A single caller asking for an odd size then leaves frag_offset misaligned for every fragment carved out of that page afterwards. The pool is shared, so the damage is not confined to the caller that caused it. The per-cpu system_page_pool used by generic XDP hits this. skb_pp_cow_data() allocates its fragments with the raw packet length: size = min_t(u32, len, PAGE_SIZE); truesize = size; page = page_pool_dev_alloc(pool, &page_off, &truesize); leaving frag_offset odd for whatever is carved out of that page next. Its own head allocation is already aligned -- SKB_HEAD_ALIGN(size) plus the XDP_PACKET_HEADROOM its callers pass -- so it is a later user of the shared pool that pays: page_pool_dev_alloc_va() retu

  • Oct 26, 2026The Bluetooth host pre-allocates a bt_conn object (a "reservation") from the fixed acl_conns[] pool for every connectable advertising set it starts, in le_adv_sCVE-2026-81039 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.3

The Bluetooth host pre-allocates a bt_conn object (a "reservation") from the fixed acl_conns[] pool for every connectable advertising set it starts, in le_adv_start_add_conn() in subsys/bluetooth/host/adv.c. When an incoming peripheral connection completes, find_pending_connect() in subsys/bluetooth/host/hci_core.c looked that reservation up using only the identity and the peer address, with a directed-then-undirected fallback, and had no knowledge of which advertising set actually terminated. With CONFIG_BT_EXT_ADV_MAX_ADV_SET > 1, where the LE Enhanced Connection Complete event is cached until the LE Advertising Set Terminated event identifies the set, this lookup can return the reservation belonging to a different, still-running advertising set. The defect is reachable over the air by any adjacent device. If an application runs two connectable extended advertising sets on the same identity — one undirected and one directed at a peer P (the common "directed reconnect to a bonded central while still accepting new centrals" pattern) — a remote initiator whose address maps to P connecting on the undirected set causes the directed set's reservation to be consumed instead. • Oct 23, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gve: fix napi_disable deadlock when attempting to disable XSK pools When disabling XSK pooCVE-2026-99048 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gve: fix napi_disable deadlock when attempting to disable XSK pools When disabling XSK pools, GVE calls the unlocked versions of napi_disable and napi_enable. However, the netdev lock has already been acquired before ndo_bpf is called because GVE supports queue management ops. Calling the unlocked versions of napi_disable/enable results in a deadlock when attempting to disable XSK pools, as the thread attempts to re-acquire a lock it already holds. Update the NAPI calls to use the locked versions. This issue was found in production.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix missing alloc tagging of direct mempool allocations Commit 1d78d56c43ef ("netfs: Fix folio_queue ENOMEM in writeback by adding a mempool") added a mempool for the folio_queues and made the request, subrequest and folio_queue allocations distinguish between writeback and everything else. Writeback is part of memory reclaim and must not fail due to ENOMEM, so it allocates under GFP_NOFS through mempool_alloc(), which may dip into the pool's reserve and, if that runs empty, wait for elements to be returned. The GFP_KERNEL paths, which can return -ENOMEM to their callers, invoke the pool's ->alloc() callback directly instead. The direct call, however, skips the alloc_hooks() wrapper that the mempool_alloc() macro provides. The pool callbacks, mempool_alloc_slab() and mempool_kmalloc(), call kmem_cache_alloc_noprof() and kmalloc_noprof() and rely on current->alloc_tag having been set by the caller. With CONFIG_MEM_ALLOC_PROFILING_DEBUG=y this leads to current->alloc_tag not set WARNING: ./include/linux/alloc_tag.h:161 at __alloc_tagging_slab_alloc_hook alloc_tag was not set WARNING: ./

Insufficient resource pool in the ACME HTTP-01 challenge responder of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a certificate issuance or renewal to fail. When the server obtains or renews a TLS certificate over ACME it runs an HTTP-01 challenge responder on port 80 for the certificate authority to read the challenge token; the responder served one connection at a time, accepting a socket, waiting up to five seconds to receive a request, answering it, and only then accepting the next. A client that connected and sent nothing held the single worker for the whole timeout, so enough idle connections during a validation keep the certificate authority's own request from being answered in time and the validation fails. Sustained across a certificate's renewals this leads to the certificate expiring, after which clients refuse the server's TLS; the mail service itself continues on its current certificate until then. No authentication is required to connect to the responder. Version 6.3.7 serves up to 64 connections at once and closes a connection past that, so that where a handful of idle connections, one after another, sufficed be

  • Oct 20, 2026One logical thread of a user-mode ThreadX module costs the Module Manager's shared object pool two allocations, not one.CVE-2026-95108 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgMedium 6.8

One logical thread of a user-mode ThreadX module costs the Module Manager's shared object pool two allocations, not one. The module asks for a `TX_THREAD` control block through `txm_module_object_allocate`; `_txm_module_manager_thread_create` then takes a second allocation of `TXM_MODULE_KERNEL_STACK_SIZE` bytes for the privileged kernel stack that thread's system calls run on, and records it in the control block. Both come from `_txm_module_manager_object_pool` and both are linked onto the module's allocation list. The Module Manager's thread-delete dispatcher released only the first. The kernel stack stayed allocated until the whole module was stopped, so a module that creates, terminates and deletes threads in a loop — every state transition valid, every service returning `TX_SUCCESS` — removed a fixed block from a finite pool shared by the manager and by every other loaded module, on every cycle, for as long as it stayed loaded. Once the pool is exhausted, no memory-protected module can create any kernel object and no user-mode module thread can be created anywhere in the system. Vulnerable function: `_txm_module_manager_tx_thread_delete_dispatch`, in `common_modules/modu

The Module Manager's block-pool create dispatcher proved that two `ALIGN_TYPE` words of the extra-parameter array a memory-protected module supplies lay inside the module's data, and then used indices 0 through 3 of that array. One of the two unproved words is read by the dispatcher's own buffer check, which takes index 1 as the pool start and index 2 as the length to range-check it over. So the out-of-bounds read is performed by the validation code itself, before the kernel service is reached, and the size the caller's pool start is then validated against is a word the manager has not proved the module owns. The other unproved word is read when the service's argument list is built. The user-mode syscall verifier z_vrfy_rtio_cqe_get_mempool_buffer() in subsys/rtio/rtio_syscalls.c validated its two output parameters, buff and buff_len, with K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_READ() rather than K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE(). Both are pure out-parameters: z_impl_rtio_cqe_get_mempool_buffer() stores the mempool buffer address and its length through them. The distinction is enforced by every architecture validator — arch_buffer_validate() on RISC-V PMP explicitly accepts the global __rom_region/__rodata_region for reads only, and the ARM MPU validators accept P_RO_U_RO and P_RW_U_RO regions for reads only — so a read-validated pointer is not necessarily writable by the calling thread. An unprivileged user-mode thread that has been granted access to an RTIO context (rtio_access_grant()) can invoke the rtio_cqe_get_mempool_buffer() syscall with buff/buff_len pointing at memory it may read but not write, and with a completion-queue entry whose flags field it fully controls (only RTIO_CQE_FLAG_MEMPOOL_BUFFER in flags[7:0] is required; flags[19:8] and flags[31:20] supply the block index and count). The Bluetooth Mesh Access layer delayable-message machinery in subsys/bluetooth/mesh/delayable_msg.c manages a static pool of CONFIG_BT_MESH_ACCESS_DELAYABLE_MSG_COUNT message contexts (default 4) threaded onto a free_ctx or busy_ctx list. release_delayable_msg_ctx() returned a context to free_ctx only when sys_slist_find_and_remove() found it on busy_ctx. The chunk-exhaustion error path in bt_mesh_delayable_msg_manage() releases a context that was already popped off free_ctx but not yet inserted on busy_ctx, so the context was appended to neither list and was permanently lost from the pool. Because bt_mesh_delayable_msg_init() runs only once from bt_mesh_init(), and node reset/suspend only drain busy_ctx, the loss survives unprovision, re-provision and suspend/resume — it is cleared only by a reboot. The error path is reached when the chunk pool (CONFIG_BT_MESH_ACCESS_DELAYABLE_MSG_CHUNK_COUNT, default 40 chunks) is short of the chunks a new delayed message needs and the oldest pending message cannot be flushed because bt_mesh_access_send() returns -EBUSY or -ENOBUFS (all segmented-TX contexts busy, or advertising/segment buffers exhausted). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rtrs-clt: Fix CQ pool leak when connect is interrupted The client borrows shared CQ credits in the ADDR_RESOLVED handler via ib_cq_pool_get(), before the peer is connected. create_cm() can return -ERESTARTSYS from wait_event_interruptible_timeout() without destroying the CM ID. The init_conns() and stop-and-destroy paths then call destroy_con_cq_qp() while cq is still NULL (no PUT) and only afterwards rdma_destroy_id(). CMA serializes the handler against rdma_destroy_id() with handler_mutex, but that does not order the GET against destroy_con_cq_qp(). If ADDR_RESOLVED has already passed the DESTROYING check, it can take con_mutex, GET credits, and then lose the con to kfree. Device unregister later hits WARN_ON(cq->cqe_used) in ib_cq_pool_cleanup(). Set a per-connection flag under con_mutex before CQ/QP teardown so a racing ADDR_RESOLVED cannot borrow credits after teardown has begun.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mvpp2: prevent buffer overflow in page_pool allocation The per‑processor buffering scCVE-2026-98272 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mvpp2: prevent buffer overflow in page_pool allocation The per‑processor buffering scheme is supported only if the number of pools (nrxqs * 2) does not exceed MVPP2_BM_MAX_POOLS (8). This is already checked in mvpp2_probe() during the initial activation of percpu_pools. However, mvpp2_change_mtu() may later call mvpp2_bm_switch_buffers(priv, true) without this check, which can lead to an out-of-bounds access in the priv->page_pool array in mvpp2_bm_init(). The array is sized to hold MVPP2_PORT_MAX_RXQ entries, and mvpp2_get_nrxqs() may return exactly that value. The per-CPU scheme then doubles it to nrxqs * 2, exceeding the array bounds. Check that the hardware version is MVPP22 or newer and that the number of pools (nrxqs * 2) does not exceed MVPP2_BM_MAX_POOLS before switching to per-CPU mode. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

  • Oct 2, 2026Tinypool is a minimal Node.js worker thread pool implementation.CVE-2026-104849 · Other software · tinylibs · reported by GitHubCritical 9.5

Tinypool is a minimal Node.js worker thread pool implementation. Prior to 2.1.2, Tinypool reads filename from a caller-supplied options object in pool.run(task, options) without requiring an own property, so a polluted Object.prototype.filename can replace the intended worker module. Applications are affected only when they pass their own second-argument options object to pool.run(); calls without that argument use the trusted default options object. An attacker who can first pollute the prototype can cause the worker pool to load attacker-selected JavaScript and can read or modify task data with the host process's privileges. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.2.

Tinypool is a minimal Node.js worker thread pool implementation. Prior to 2.1.1, Tinypool constructs ThreadPool.options from a normal options object and reads the execArgv and env worker options in dist/index.js, allowing values inherited from a polluted Object.prototype to be copied into own properties and passed to worker_threads.Worker. An attacker who can first pollute either property can cause each newly spawned worker to load attacker-selected JavaScript through command-line preload arguments or NODE_OPTIONS, resulting in code execution with the host process's privileges and possible access to CI secrets, signing material, or build artifacts. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.1.

  • Sep 30, 2026piscina is a node.js worker pool implementation.CVE-2026-102992 · Other software · piscinajs · reported by GitHubCritical 9.2

piscina is a node.js worker pool implementation. Prior to 4.9.4, 5.3.2, and 6.0.0-rc.5, Piscina stores ThreadPool.options in src/index.ts as a plain object that inherits from Object.prototype. Applications with a separate prototype-pollution primitive can therefore supply inherited values for security-sensitive options that do not have own defaults. An inherited execArgv value is passed to the Node.js Worker constructor and can preload attacker-controlled code in worker threads, an inherited loadBalancer function can execute during task scheduling, and inherited env values can alter worker environments. This issue is fixed in versions 4.9.4, 5.3.2, and 6.0.0-rc.5.
