  • Oct 29, 2026Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions.CVE-2026-118905 · Other software · nvm-sh · reported by 7ffcee3d-2c14-4c3e-b844-86c6a321a158High 7.1

Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions. In versions 0.31.2 through 0.40.5, `nvm_ls` filters installed versions with a sed program that embeds the requested version pattern in a `\#...#` address, escaping `.` (and, since 0.40.4, `#`) but not backslash. A version string containing `#` (or `\#`) therefore closes the address early, and the rest of it is parsed as sed commands: with GNU sed, the `e` command runs a shell command as the user; with BSD sed, the `w` and `r` commands write and read files. This is reachable whenever an attacker-influenced version string is passed to `nvm use`, `nvm which`, `nvm ls`, `nvm version`, `nvm run`, or `nvm exec`, or to `nvm-exec` via `NODE_VERSION`, and at least one version is installed. nvm's own `.nvmrc` parser strips comments, so a bare `nvm use` is not affected; however, the bash `cdnvm` and zsh `load-nvmrc` auto-switch hooks documented in the README read `.nvmrc` as-is and pass it to `nvm ls` and `nvm version`, so a user with one of those hooks installed runs the attacker's command just by changing into a directory under a malicious `.nvmrc`; scripts that run `nvm use "$(cat .nvmrc)

  • Oct 28, 2026@hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js.CVE-2026-118663 · Other software · honojs · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

@hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js. From 1.19.10 until 2.1.3, serveStatic decodes a request path a second time after Hono has already decoded it for routing, so a malformed percent-encoded sequence can make route middleware evaluate an encoded path while static file resolution uses a different directory. An unauthenticated attacker can bypass middleware mounted on a protected static prefix and read a file inside the configured static root, although the flaw does not permit traversal outside that root. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.3.

  • Oct 28, 2026i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno.CVE-2026-118258 · Other software · i18next · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno. Prior to 4.0.4, interpolateUrl inserts unencoded language and namespace values into loadPath or addPath templates without rejecting ampersand (&), equals (=), or semicolon (;) query separators. When a template places lng or ns in the query string and an attacker controls that value, the attacker can add or override parameters on browser or server-side translation requests, potentially exposing other namespaces or tenants or changing backend behavior through the application's network position and credentials. This vulnerability is the result of an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-41691. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.4.

  • Oct 27, 2026dd-trace is the Datadog APM client for Node.js.CVE-2026-116693 · Other software · DataDog · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

dd-trace is the Datadog APM client for Node.js. From 2.0.0 until 5.131.1 and 6.20.1, the default DD_TRACE_OBFUSCATION_QUERY_STRING_REGEXP can perform excessive backtracking on attacker-controlled URL query strings. The expression is applied synchronously while recording HTTP URL metadata, allowing a crafted request to consume excessive CPU, stall request processing, and make the instrumented application unavailable. This issue is fixed in versions 5.131.1 and 6.20.1.

  • Oct 27, 2026follow-redirects is a Node.js HTTP and HTTPS client wrapper that automatically follows redirects.CVE-2026-116689 · Other software · follow-redirects · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9

follow-redirects is a Node.js HTTP and HTTPS client wrapper that automatically follows redirects. From 1.16.0 until 1.16.2, the documented sensitiveHeaders option is checked with value instanceof Array, so an array created in another JavaScript realm is replaced with an empty list even though Array.isArray recognizes it. When a request then follows an attacker-controlled cross-origin redirect, a custom credential header named in that discarded list can be forwarded to the redirect destination. This issue is fixed in version 1.16.2.

  • Oct 27, 2026systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js.CVE-2026-116674 · Other software · sebhildebrandt · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.33.13, networkStats(ifaces) in lib/network.js on FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and NetBSD stores per-interface data in the plain-object _network cache and indexes it with the sanitized caller-controlled interface name. Passing proto causes the inherited Object.prototype value to be used instead of creating an own cache entry, so calcNetworkSpeed() writes rx_bytes, tx_bytes, rx_sec, tx_sec, ms, last_ms, and operstate onto Object.prototype. The polluted property names are fixed and their values come from interface statistics, but inherited-name collisions and enumerable keys can corrupt application branching, serialization, configuration merging, validation, or lookup behavior. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.13.

  • Oct 27, 2026systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js.CVE-2026-116673 · Other software · sebhildebrandt · reported by GitHubLow 3.3

systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.33.14, the Linux networkStats(iface) implementation uses the caller-supplied interface value in an fs.existsSync() check and to build /sys/class/net/<iface> paths, including the operstate path, without verifying that it is a single interface-name segment or that the resolved path remains under /sys/class/net. An attacker who can control iface and create a directory containing symlinked statistics files can use parent-directory components and symlink traversal to make the API return the first line of a file readable by the Node.js process. The package does not expose a network endpoint, and the demonstrated scenario requires local filesystem setup. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.14.

  • Oct 26, 2026systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js.CVE-2026-116576 · Other software · sebhildebrandt · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

systeminformation is a System and OS information library for node.js. Prior to 5.33.16, services() in lib/processes.js inserts a caller-supplied service name into a PowerShell Get-CimInstance filter after processing it with sanitizeShellString() in lib/util.js. On Windows, the sanitizer removes ASCII quotes but permits Unicode quotation marks that PowerShell accepts as string delimiters, allowing crafted input to terminate the filter and place a PowerShell expression in the command executed by util.powerShell(). The expression runs with the Node.js process account's permissions and may read or change accessible files, alter application data, or disrupt the service. The package does not expose a network service itself, so remote reachability depends on a consuming application forwarding attacker-controlled input to services() or getDynamicData(). This issue is fixed in version 5.33.16.

  • Oct 26, 2026The MongoDB Shell (mongosh) relies on Node.js as a third-party runtime that carries its own TLS root certificate store.CVE-2026-115930 · Other software · MongoDB, Inc. · reported by cna@mongodb.comHigh 7.6

The MongoDB Shell (mongosh) relies on Node.js as a third-party runtime that carries its own TLS root certificate store. This certificate store has the recoverable eMudhra intermediate CA certificates. • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in Node.js `crypto` causes the internal entropy caches used by `crypto.randomUUID()`, `crypto.randomUUIDv7()`, and `crypto.randomInt()` to be saved into CVE-2026-106074 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comMedium 4.8

A flaw in Node.js `crypto` causes the internal entropy caches used by `crypto.randomUUID()`, `crypto.randomUUIDv7()`, and `crypto.randomInt()` to be saved into user-land startup snapshots (`--build-snapshot`) and single executable applications built with `useSnapshot`. If any of these functions, or an API that relies on them such as `URL.createObjectURL()`, is called while the snapshot is built, every process started from that snapshot returns the same values until the cache is refilled: up to 127 UUIDs and about 1,000 `randomInt()` values. Identifiers expected to be unique can collide across processes, and values issued by one process can be predicted by observing another. This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**.

  • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification allows a certificate with only a DNS SAN to authenticate an IP endpoint when the client connects using a non-canonicCVE-2026-106072 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comMedium 6.7

A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification allows a certificate with only a DNS SAN to authenticate an IP endpoint when the client connects using a non-canonical IPv4 spelling, such as `0177.0.0.1`, `0x7f.0.0.1`, `2130706433` or `127.1`. `tls.checkServerIdentity()` did not classify these hosts as IP addresses, but normalized them to their canonical form and matched the result against the certificate DNS names. A certificate containing `DNS:127.0.0.1` and no `IP Address:127.0.0.1` SAN was therefore accepted, while the same certificate is correctly rejected for `127.0.0.1`. Exploitation requires a certificate with a numeric DNS SAN issued by a CA trusted by the client, and a platform resolver that accepts these spellings, such as glibc. This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**.

  • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in Node.js Permission Model filesystem enforcement can grant access to paths that do not match a wildcard `--allow-fs-read` or `--allow-fs-write` rule.CVE-2026-106071 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comLow 3.6

A flaw in Node.js Permission Model filesystem enforcement can grant access to paths that do not match a wildcard `--allow-fs-read` or `--allow-fs-write` rule. When the requested path is shorter than the prefix of a wildcard grant, the radix tree lookup stops comparing early and treats the path as a match. For example, `--allow-fs-read=/etc/passwd.*` also allows reading `/etc/passwd`. This requires the wildcard grant to sit directly under the root of the permission tree, for example when it is the only grant for that scope. This is a different root cause from CVE-2026-58043. • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in the Node.js `zlib.ZipFile` API can cause it to return bytes that do not belong to the requested entry after the local and central header validation faCVE-2026-106070 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comLow 3.7

A flaw in the Node.js `zlib.ZipFile` API can cause it to return bytes that do not belong to the requested entry after the local and central header validation fails. When `zipEntry.modified` is read on an archive whose local header does not match its central directory, either directly or while compacting the archive, the validation error is caught but the parsed local header is left cached without a content offset. A later content read then returns attacker-controlled bytes from the start of the file instead of rejecting the archive, and CRC-32 verification still passes because the attacker controls the central directory CRC. A Node.js-based scanner can therefore approve different content from what another ZIP implementation extracts from the same archive. This vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**.

  • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification can cause a server certificate to be validated against a different IP address than the one the client connected to, CVE-2026-106069 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comHigh 7.4

A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification can cause a server certificate to be validated against a different IP address than the one the client connected to, when the host is a non-canonical IPv4 literal with a leading zero, such as `0127.0.0.1`. `tls.checkServerIdentity()` normalizes the host following the WHATWG URL rules, which read a leading-zero octet as octal (`0127.0.0.1` becomes `87.0.0.1`), while the connection is made through the operating system resolver, which on some platforms such as macOS reads it as decimal (`127.0.0.1`). • Oct 23, 2026A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification allows a certificate without a matching IP address SAN to authenticate a connection to an IPv4 address when the hostCVE-2026-105483 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comHigh 7.4

A flaw in Node.js TLS hostname verification allows a certificate without a matching IP address SAN to authenticate a connection to an IPv4 address when the host is written with non-ASCII characters, such as fullwidth digits (`127.0.0.1`). `tls.checkServerIdentity()` did not recognize such hosts as IP addresses, even though they normalize and resolve to a regular IPv4 address, and matched them against the certificate DNS names and Common Name instead. A certificate containing `DNS:127.0.0.1` or `DNS:*.0.0.1` could therefore be accepted for an IP endpoint it was not issued for. This is a regression introduced after the fix for CVE-2026-48618. A flaw in Node.js DNS resolution allows hostnames containing a NUL byte to be silently truncated by the dns.resolve*() functions and dns.reverse(). This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-48930, which only covered dns.lookup() and the net/tls host options. Because the name is passed to c-ares as a C string, resolving attacker.example\0.trusted.example queries attacker.example and returns its records without any error. A flaw in Node.js HTTP Agent connection reuse can cause a client to accept as valid a response that was sent before the client has sent the request. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2026-48931. The guard that destroys idle keep-alive sockets when unexpected data arrives only runs when the event loop polls for I/O. If an unsolicited response has already reached the socket but has not been read yet when the socket is handed to a new request, for example because the event loop was busy with synchronous work, the guard is removed without seeing it and the data is parsed as the response to the new request. • Oct 22, 2026multer is a middleware for Node.js that handles multipart/form-data file uploads.CVE-2026-113872 · Other software · multer · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5

multer is a middleware for Node.js that handles multipart/form-data file uploads. In versions from 2.0.0 before 2.5.0, when multer is configured with an asynchronous fileFilter, a single request can crash the Node.js process. If the request is aborted while one file's asynchronous fileFilter is still pending, the pending callback later resumes a parsing stream that multer has already torn down, and the underlying parser emits an error on a stream that no longer has an error listener, which Node raises as an unhandled error event so the process exits. Any application using multer with an asynchronous fileFilter is affected regardless of storage engine, while uploads using a synchronous fileFilter are not affected. The issue is fixed in multer 2.5.0, and users should upgrade to 2.5.0 or later. As a workaround, use a synchronous fileFilter.

  • Oct 22, 2026body-parser is body parsing middleware for Node.js and Express.CVE-2026-111181 · Other software · body-parser · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5

body-parser is body parsing middleware for Node.js and Express. In versions before 1.20.9 and in versions from 2.0.0 before 2.4.0, a single request can crash any application using body-parser with default options. When a request carries a Content-Encoding such as gzip, body-parser pipes it into a decompression stream and, after reading the body, leaves that stream with no error listener. A payload of one valid compressed frame followed by trailing bytes decodes and the application responds normally, but the trailing bytes then reach the already-finished decoder, which emits an error that is re-thrown as an uncaught exception and terminates the process. No matching route is required because body parsing runs before routing, so any endpoint that parses a body is affected. The issue is fixed in body-parser 2.4.0 and 1.20.9, and users should upgrade to one of those versions or later. As a workaround, disable request-body inflation (set the body-parser inflate option to false) so encoded requests are rejected before any decompression stream is created.

  • Oct 21, 2026toml-node is a TOML parser for Node.js and the browser.CVE-2026-114144 · Other software · BinaryMuse · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

toml-node is a TOML parser for Node.js and the browser. Prior to 5.0.1, toml.parse() passes unbounded hexadecimal, octal, binary, and decimal digit sequences from lib/parser.js to BigInt() before reduceInteger() in lib/compiler.js checks whether the resulting value fits the TOML 64-bit integer range. Converting a sufficiently long integer string consumes super-linear CPU time and synchronously blocks the Node.js event loop, allowing one attacker-supplied TOML document to deny service to concurrent work in the process. The later range check cannot prevent the conversion cost because it executes after BigInt(). This issue is fixed in version 5.0.1.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 4.33.0 of ApostropheCMS and 1.6.1 of passport-bridge, cross-host or cross-locale session migration places a single-use bearer session token in a redirect URL. A client that obtains and redeems a still-valid, unconsumed token before its first use can adopt the associated session, including through the passport-bridge cross-locale flow. This issue is fixed in ApostropheCMS 4.33.0 and passport-bridge 1.6.1.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 4.33.0, the REST route GET /api/v1/<piece-type>/:_id/locales (and the equivalent page route) does not apply the publicApiCheckAsync gate that ApostropheCMS's other read routes enforce. An unauthenticated caller can therefore query this route for any document _id and learn whether the document exists and which locales it is published in — a document-existence and locale-metadata disclosure that the read-API is otherwise supposed to gate. This issue is fixed in version 4.33.0.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 1.5.5 of the Form add-on, 1.2.1 of login-recaptcha, and 1.3.0 of login-hcaptcha, these three CAPTCHA integrations interpolate an unencoded user-supplied response token into the provider verification request. Crafted tokens can smuggle request parameters and disrupt CAPTCHA verification and CAPTCHA-gated form or login flows; automated bypass probing is possible, but a successful CAPTCHA bypass or secret disclosure is not established. This issue is fixed in Form 1.5.5, login-recaptcha 1.2.1, and login-hcaptcha 1.3.0.

  • Oct 20, 2026ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system.CVE-2026-113666 · Other software · apostrophecms · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 1.1.0 of db-connect and 4.33.0 of ApostropheCMS, an account with view-draft access can submit a projection exclusion path that traverses through a constructor prototype chain to a shared prototype member when a consumer uses a SQLite, PostgreSQL, or multipostgres adapter and has a matching document. Every editing role has view-draft access, while guestApiAccess broadens this prerequisite to any logged-in account. The unsetNestedField helper then deletes the shared runtime member, causing persistent process-wide integrity and availability effects; the default MongoDB adapter is not affected. This issue is fixed in db-connect 1.1.0 and ApostropheCMS 4.33.0.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 4.33.0, the notification module exposes PATCH and DELETE REST endpoints that perform operations directly on the underlying MongoDB collection without verifying that the requester is authenticated or owns the target notification. ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 3.7.0 of the import-export module, an authenticated importer can submit a tar entry whose normalized destination targets a directory while bypassing the literal parent-path substring guard. Opening that directory as a write stream emits an unhandled filesystem error that can terminate the Node.js process; the source establishes this static primitive but not an end-to-end exploit or controlled arbitrary file read or write. This issue is fixed in version 3.7.0.

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Prior to 3.7.0 of the import-export module, an authenticated user with import access to a target type can supply an object or operator as an update-key value, causing the import query to match an unidentified existing document that the user has generic edit permission to modify. • Oct 20, 2026follow-redirects is a Node.js HTTP and HTTPS client wrapper that automatically follows redirects.CVE-2026-111756 · Other software · follow-redirects · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

follow-redirects is a Node.js HTTP and HTTPS client wrapper that automatically follows redirects. From version 1.16.0 to before version 1.16.1, follow-redirects removes sensitive credential headers (Authorization, Proxy-Authorization, Cookie, and any caller-declared sensitiveHeaders) before following a redirect that crosses to a different host or downgrades to a less secure protocol. The removal routine iterates the caller's headers container with for...in and matches header names against a filter. This assumes the headers container is a plain object keyed by header names. Node's underlying http.request, which follow-redirects is a drop-in replacement for, also accepts headers as an alternating array of names and values. For an array, for...in yields the numeric indices "0", "1", "2" and so on, which never match a header-name filter, so nothing is removed. An application that sends array-form headers and follows an attacker-controlled cross-origin redirect therefore forwards its Authorization, Cookie, and Proxy-Authorization headers verbatim to the attacker-controlled destination, with no error or warning. The sensitiveHeaders option added to fix CVE-2026-40895 / GHSA-r4q5-vmmm-265

ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system, and sanitize-html provides a simple HTML sanitizer with a clear API. From sanitize-html 2.17.7 until 2.18.0, an application configuration that permits namespace-prefixed SVG animation elements and the relevant URL-targeting attributes can bypass the SMIL URL protection because prefixed tag names do not match the unprefixed animation-element check. ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system, and sanitize-html provides a simple HTML sanitizer with a clear API. Prior to sanitize-html 2.18.0, a non-default nonTextTags configuration that includes noscript can end its discard region early when htmlparser2 emits an implied ancestor close inside noscript.
