In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regmap: maple: free entry on mas_store_gfp() failure regcache_maple_write() allocates a new block ('entry') to merge adjacent ranges and then stores it with mas_store_gfp(). When mas_store_gfp() fails, the new 'entry' remains allocated and is never freed, leaking memory. Free 'entry' on the failure path; on success continue freeing the replaced neighbor blocks ('lower', 'upper').

Jan 13, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: shmem: fix recovery on rename failures maple_tree insertions can fail if we are seriously CVE-2025-71072 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.2
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: shmem: fix recovery on rename failures maple_tree insertions can fail if we are seriously short on memory; simple_offset_rename() does not recover well if it runs into that. The same goes for simple_offset_rename_exchange(). Moreover, shmem_whiteout() expects that if it succeeds, the caller will progress to d_move(), i.e. that shmem_rename2() won't fail past the successful call of shmem_whiteout(). Not hard to fix, fortunately - mtree_store() can't fail if the index we are trying to store into is already present in the tree as a singleton. For simple_offset_rename_exchange() that's enough - we just need to be careful about the order of operations. For simple_offset_rename() solution is to preinsert the target into the tree for new_dir; the rest can be done without any potentially failing operations. That preinsertion has to be done in shmem_rename2() rather than in simple_offset_rename() itself - otherwise we'd need to deal with the possibility of failure after successful shmem_whiteout().

Dec 24, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix potential out-of-bounds access in mas_wr_end_piv() Check the write offset CVE-2023-54135 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix potential out-of-bounds access in mas_wr_end_piv() Check the write offset end bounds before using it as the offset into the pivot array. This avoids a possible out-of-bounds access on the pivot array if the write extends to the last slot in the node, in which case the node maximum should be used as the end pivot. akpm: this doesn't affect any current callers, but new users of mapletree may encounter this problem if backported into earlier kernels, so let's fix it in -stable kernels in case of this.

Core Bot Is an Open Source discord bot made for maple hospital servers. Prior to commit dffe050, the API keys (SUPABASE_API_KEY, TOKEN) are loaded using environment variables, but there are cases in code (error handling, summaries, webhooks) where configuration summaries may inadvertently leak sensitive data (e.g., by failing to redact data in summary embeds or logs). This issue has been patched via commit dffe050.

Maple versions up to and including 13's Maplet framework allows embedded commands to be executed automatically when a .maplet file is opened. This behavior bypasses standard security restrictions that normally prevent code execution in regular Maple worksheets. The vulnerability enables attackers to craft malicious .maplet files that execute arbitrary code without user interaction.

Jul 25, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix MA_STATE_PREALLOC flag in mas_preallocate() Temporarily clear the preallocCVE-2025-38364 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix MA_STATE_PREALLOC flag in mas_preallocate() Temporarily clear the preallocation flag when explicitly requesting allocations. Pre-existing allocations are already counted against the request through mas_node_count_gfp(), but the allocations will not happen if the MA_STATE_PREALLOC flag is set. This flag is meant to avoid re-allocating in bulk allocation mode, and to detect issues with preallocation calculations. The MA_STATE_PREALLOC flag should also always be set on zero allocations so that detection of underflow allocations will print a WARN_ON() during consumption. User visible effect of this flaw is a WARN_ON() followed by a null pointer dereference when subsequent requests for larger number of nodes is ignored, such as the vma merge retry in mmap_region() caused by drivers altering the vma flags (which happens in v6.6, at least)

Dec 2, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nommu: pass NULL argument to vma_iter_prealloc() When deleting a vma entry from a maple trCVE-2024-53109 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nommu: pass NULL argument to vma_iter_prealloc() When deleting a vma entry from a maple tree, it has to pass NULL to vma_iter_prealloc() in order to calculate internal state of the tree, but it passed a wrong argument. As a result, nommu kernels crashed upon accessing a vma iterator, such as acct_collect() reading the size of vma entries after do_munmap(). This commit fixes this issue by passing a right argument to the preallocation call.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: correct tree corruption on spanning store Patch series "maple_tree: correct tree corruption on spanning store", v3. There has been a nasty yet subtle maple tree corruption bug that appears to have been in existence since the inception of the algorithm. This bug seems far more likely to happen since commit f8d112a4e657 ("mm/mmap: avoid zeroing vma tree in mmap_region()"), which is the point at which reports started to be submitted concerning this bug. We were made definitely aware of the bug thanks to the kind efforts of Bert Karwatzki who helped enormously in my being able to track this down and identify the cause of it. The bug arises when an attempt is made to perform a spanning store across two leaf nodes, where the right leaf node is the rightmost child of the shared parent, AND the store completely consumes the right-mode node. This results in mas_wr_spanning_store() mitakenly duplicating the new and existing entries at the maximum pivot within the range, and thus maple tree corruption. The fix patch corrects this by detecting this scenario and disallowing the mistaken duplicate copy. The

May 30, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix mas_empty_area_rev() null pointer dereference Currently the code calls masCVE-2024-36891 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: maple_tree: fix mas_empty_area_rev() null pointer dereference Currently the code calls mas_start() followed by mas_data_end() if the maple state is MA_START, but mas_start() may return with the maple state node == NULL. This will lead to a null pointer dereference when checking information in the NULL node, which is done in mas_data_end(). Avoid setting the offset if there is no node by waiting until after the maple state is checked for an empty or single entry state. A user could trigger the events to cause a kernel oops by unmapping all vmas to produce an empty maple tree, then mapping a vma that would cause the scenario described above.

May 30, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regmap: maple: Fix cache corruption in regcache_maple_drop() When keeping the upper end ofCVE-2024-36019 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regmap: maple: Fix cache corruption in regcache_maple_drop() When keeping the upper end of a cache block entry, the entry[] array must be indexed by the offset from the base register of the block, i.e. max - mas.index. The code was indexing entry[] by only the register address, leading to an out-of-bounds access that copied some part of the kernel memory over the cache contents. This bug was not detected by the regmap KUnit test because it only tests with a block of registers starting at 0, so mas.index == 0.
