  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dp: skip PUSH_IDLE when the link was never enabled msm_dp_display_atomic_enable() CVE-2026-98313 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dp: skip PUSH_IDLE when the link was never enabled msm_dp_display_atomic_enable() returns early when link training fails, leaving ->power_on false and the main link down. msm_dp_display_atomic_disable() nevertheless writes DP_STATE_CTRL_PUSH_IDLE and waits for an idle-pattern completion that cannot arrive, so every failed enable is followed by "PUSH_IDLE pattern timedout". Every other step of the teardown is already gated on that flag: msm_dp_display_disable(), called from .atomic_post_disable(), returns early on !power_on. The PUSH_IDLE write is the only one that is not, so the controller's runtime-PM reference is then dropped without the link having been taken down. On glymur (Snapdragon X2 Elite) the consequence is not a warning. The SoC does not survive it: TrustZone force-stops the SOCCP and ADSP remote processors and the machine resets silently about 50 ms later, with no oops and no panic. On an ASUS Zenbook A16 (UX3607OA), whose eDP panel does not currently train, this reproduces without any compositor or GPU involvement: # eDP enable has already failed with "Failed link training (rc=-104)"

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmsmac: fix UAF in brcms_free_timer() brcms_free_timer() calls brcms_del_timer() wCVE-2026-98196 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmsmac: fix UAF in brcms_free_timer() brcms_free_timer() calls brcms_del_timer() which uses the non-synchronous cancel_delayed_work() to cancel the timer's underlying delayed work. If the work callback (_brcms_timer) is already running, cancel_delayed_work() returns false without waiting, and brcms_free_timer() proceeds to kfree(t) while the callback still accesses t through container_of(). Add an explicit cancel_delayed_work_sync() after brcms_del_timer() to guarantee that any in-flight callback has completed before the timer structure is freed.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: RCU-free the scheduler-containing ring and VM objects Both struct msm_ringbuffer CVE-2026-98180 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: RCU-free the scheduler-containing ring and VM objects Both struct msm_ringbuffer and struct msm_gem_vm embed a struct drm_gpu_scheduler. msm_ringbuffer_destroy() and the VM free callback msm_gem_vm_free() call drm_sched_fini() on the embedded scheduler and then free the containing object with plain kfree(). drm_sched_fence_get_timeline_name() returns fence->sched->name, and the scheduler fence keeps a .release callback so it is not ops-detached on signalling. A finished fence exported to userspace (the submit out-fence, or a VM_BIND fence, via sync_file / drm_syncobj) keeps pointing at the embedded scheduler after the ring/VM is freed, so a later get_timeline_name() -- reachable unprivileged through SYNC_IOC_FILE_INFO -- dereferences freed slab memory (KASAN slab-use-after-free read). Per the dma-fence lifetime contract the exporter must keep the data backing a signalled fence alive for an RCU grace period. Free the scheduler-containing objects with kfree_rcu() instead of kfree(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Recover HW before retire hung submit During recovery, it is not safe to retire the hung submit before we recover the GPU. Retiring the submit triggers BO free and that can result in GPU pagefaults since the GPU may be actively accessing those BOs. • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btqcomsmd: destroy RPMsg endpoints before freeing hci_dev The command and ACL RCVE-2026-97908 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btqcomsmd: destroy RPMsg endpoints before freeing hci_dev The command and ACL RPMsg endpoints store struct btqcomsmd as their callback private data. The receive callbacks dereference btq->hdev without taking an hci_dev reference. The current teardown order frees the hci_dev before destroying the RPMsg endpoints in both the hci_register_dev() error path and the driver remove path. If WCNSS delivers data in that window, the endpoint callback can run with an already freed hci_dev and pass it to the Bluetooth core. For qcom_smd endpoints, rpmsg_destroy_ept() closes the channel and clears the callback under the channel recv_lock. The receive path holds the same lock while invoking the callback, so destroying the endpoints first both prevents new callbacks and serializes with any callback already running. Destroy the command and ACL endpoints before hci_free_dev(). Keep hci_unregister_dev() first during remove so the HCI core stops issuing operations before the transport endpoints are shut down. In the full registration-error cleanup path, return directly after freeing the hci_dev to avoid falling through

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Only fini scheduler after successful init msm_ringbuffer_new() destroys a partialCVE-2026-93058 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Only fini scheduler after successful init msm_ringbuffer_new() destroys a partially initialized ring through msm_ringbuffer_destroy() when an allocation or scheduler setup step fails. If drm_sched_init() fails before it finishes initializing the scheduler, the failure path still calls drm_sched_fini(). That teardown path assumes the scheduler work items, lists, and workqueue state were initialized. Track successful scheduler initialization and call drm_sched_fini() only after drm_sched_init() returned 0. This issue was found by a static analysis checker and confirmed by manual source review. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: don't tear down KMS twice when KMS init fails When priv->kms_init() (mdp4_kms_init() / mdp5_kms_init()) fails partway through, both display drivers already tear their KMS state down via mdp4_destroy() / mdp5_kms_destroy() before returning the error. The common error path in msm_drm_init() then runs msm_drm_uninit() -> msm_drm_kms_uninit(), which tries to destroy the very same KMS a second time, which causes a use-after-free crash. Bring MDP4/MDP5 in line with the DPU driver whose dpu_kms_init() doesn't perform error cleanup on the failure. Let the common path own the cleanup, instead of freeing the KMS from their error paths. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/msm: Unwind probe state on registration failure msm_iommu_probe() adds its devm-managed IOMMU object to qcom_iommu_devices before adding the IOMMU sysfs device and registering it with the IOMMU core. If iommu_device_sysfs_add() fails, probe returns with the object still on qcom_iommu_devices. The driver core then releases the devm allocation, leaving a dangling list entry that later list walks may dereference. If iommu_device_register() fails, the same dangling list entry remains and the sysfs device is left registered as well. Unwind the sysfs device and global list entry in reverse setup order on the corresponding failure paths.

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: msm: Disable DMA for kernel console UART At the moment, concurrent writes from useCVE-2026-80886 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: msm: Disable DMA for kernel console UART At the moment, concurrent writes from userspace and the kernel to the console can trigger a race condition that results in an infinite loop of the same messages printed over and over again. This is most likely to happen during system startup or shutdown when the init system starts/stops a large number of system services that interact with various kernel code. When userspace writes to the TTY device, the driver initiates an asynchronous DMA transfer and releases the port lock. At the same moment, the kernel printk path might grab the port lock and re-configure the UART controller for PIO, without waiting for the DMA operation to complete. It seems like this collision results in zero progress being reported for the DMA engine, so the same text is printed to the console over and over again. For the kernel console, we want a reliable output path that will be functional even during crashes etc. So rather than implementing complex code to synchronize the kernel console write routines with the userspace DMA write routines, simply disable DMA for the console UART instanc

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dpu: fix mismatch between power and frequency During DPU runtime suspend, calling dev_pm_opp_set_rate(dev, 0) drops the MMCX rail to MIN_SVS while the core clock frequency remains at its original (highest) rate. When runtime resume re-enables the clock, this may result in a mismatch between the rail voltage and the clock rate. For example, in the DPU bind path, the sequence could be: cpu0: dev_sync_state -> rpmhpd_sync_state cpu1: dpu_kms_hw_init timeline 0 ------------------------------------------------> t After rpmhpd_sync_state, the voltage performance is no longer guaranteed to stay at the highest level. During dpu_kms_hw_init, calling dev_pm_opp_set_rate(dev, 0) drops the voltage, causing the MMCX rail to fall to MIN_SVS while the core clock is still at its maximum frequency. When the power is re-enabled, only the clock is enabled, leading to a situation where the MMCX rail is at MIN_SVS but the core clock is at its highest rate. In this state, the rail cannot sustain the clock rate, which may cause instability or system crash. Remove the call to dev_pm_opp

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/gem: fix error handling in msm_ioctl_gem_info_get_metadata() msm_ioctl_gem_info_get_metadata() always returns 0 regardless of errors. When copy_to_user() fails or the user buffer is too small, the error code stored in ret is ignored because the function unconditionally returns 0. This causes userspace to believe the ioctl succeeded when it did not. Additionally, kmemdup() can return NULL on allocation failure, but the return value is not checked. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference in the subsequent copy_to_user() call. Add the missing NULL check for kmemdup() and return ret instead of 0. Note that the SET counterpart (msm_ioctl_gem_info_set_metadata) correctly returns ret. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/714478/

Go ShangMi (Commercial Cryptography) Library (GMSM) is a cryptographic library that covers the Chinese commercial cryptographic public algorithms SM2/SM3/SM4/SM9/ZUC. Prior to 0.41.1, the current SM9 decryption implementation contains an infinity-point ciphertext forgery vulnerability. The root cause is that, during decryption, the elliptic-curve point C1 in the ciphertext is only deserialized and checked to be on the curve, but the implementation does not explicitly reject the point at infinity. In the current implementation, an attacker can construct C1 as the point at infinity, causing the bilinear pairing result to degenerate into the identity element in the GT group. As a result, a critical part of the key derivation input becomes a predictable constant. An attacker who only knows the target user's UID can derive the decryption key material and then forge a ciphertext that passes the integrity check. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.41.1.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Revert "drm/msm: Add missing check and destroy for alloc_ordered_workqueue" This reverts commit 643b7d0869cc7f1f7a5ac7ca6bd25d88f54e31d0. A recent patch that tried to fix up the msm_drm_init() paths with respect to the workqueue but only ended up making things worse: First, the newly added calls to msm_drm_uninit() on early errors would trigger NULL-pointer dereferences, for example, as the kms pointer would not have been initialised. (Note that these paths were also modified by a second broken error handling patch which in effect cancelled out this part when merged.) Second, the newly added allocation sanity check would still leak the previously allocated drm device. Instead of trying to salvage what was badly broken (and clearly not tested), let's revert the bad commit so that clean and backportable fixes can be added in its place. To prevent this from happening, where null-pointer dereferences typically result in a hard-to-debug platform lockup, num_blks shouldn't increase past NULL blocks and will print an error and break instead. After all, max_blks represents the static size of the maximum number of blocks whereas the actual amount varies per platform. ^1: which can happen after a git rebase ended up moving additions to _dpu_cfg to a different struct which has the same patch context. But the struct device which the devres is tied to is the DPUs (drm_dev->dev), which may be happen after the DP controller is torn down. Indications of this can be seen in the commonly seen EDID-hexdump full of zeros in the log, or the occasional/rare KASAN fault where the panel's attempt to read the EDID information causes a use after free on DP resources. It's tempting to move the devres to the DP controller's struct device, but the resources used by the device(s) on the aux bus are explicitly torn down in the error path. The KASAN-reported use-after-free also remains, as the DP aux "module" explicitly frees its devres-allocated memory in this code path. As such, explicitly depopulate the aux bus in the error path, and in the component unbind path, to avoid these issues. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/542163/

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: fix workqueue leak on bind errors Make sure to destroy the workqueue also in case of early errors during bind (e.g. a subcomponent failing to bind). Since commit c3b790ea07a1 ("drm: Manage drm_mode_config_init with drmm_") the mode config will be freed when the drm device is released also when using the legacy interface, but add an explicit cleanup for consistency and to facilitate backporting. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
