  • Oct 28, 2026Functype is a family of TypeScript functional programming libraries.CVE-2026-59176 · Other software · jordanburke · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

Functype is a family of TypeScript functional programming libraries. Prior to 1.4.4, the `set_functype_version` MCP tool in `functype-mcp-server` accepts an unconstrained `version` string using only `z.string()` validation in `packages/mcp-server/src/index.ts` and interpolates it into `functype@<version>` for `pnpm add`. Package-alias syntaxes such as `file:`, `npm:`, URLs, or paths can cause an arbitrary local or remote package to be installed as functype. Immediately afterward, `initDocsData(true)` in `packages/mcp-server/src/lib/docs/data.ts` resolves `functype/cli` and dynamically imports the newly installed module, executing attacker-controlled JavaScript with the MCP server process's privileges. Any MCP client able to send a `tools/call` request invoking the tool can exploit the flaw; the tool is enabled by default without authentication in `stdio` mode. A connected AI assistant susceptible to indirect prompt injection can also be induced to invoke it from a malicious document or web page. In non-default `TRANSPORT_TYPE=httpStream` deployments, a network-accessible attacker does not require local access. Successful execution can read process secrets, modify files, or terminat

Lantronix XPress-DR and XPress-DR-I (CoBos-family) firmware through 8.1.0.0 contains a missing authentication vulnerability that allows remote attackers to read and persistently overwrite device configuration by sending crafted frames to the unauthenticated UDP configuration protocol on port 30718. Attackers can send a type 0xF8 query to read live configuration data and a type 0xFD frame with exactly 0x78 body bytes to rewrite the device IP address and serial-channel forwarding records, causing changes to commit to EEPROM and persist across reboots. The XPress-DR product series reached end-of-life/end-of-support in February 2025.

  • Oct 13, 2026H3C HDM Family-A verifies the RSA signature of a firmware image against a public key it reads from the mutable file `/conf/public.pem`.CVE-2026-65197 · Other software · H3C · reported by 44488dab-36db-4358-99f9-bc116477f914Low 3.1

H3C HDM Family-A verifies the RSA signature of a firmware image against a public key it reads from the mutable file `/conf/public.pem`. That file is writable by an authenticated Redfish client through the `UpdateService.UploadSignKey` action, which stores the uploaded body verbatim after validating only that the multipart filename ends in `.pem`. An administrator, or any account with `firmware-update` privilege, can therefore replace the trust anchor with their own key, sign a malicious image with the matching private key, and have it pass verification. Family-A has no hardware root-of-trust (no PFR) to catch the substituted key.  This was observed on H3C HDM Family-A G5 HDM 6.14.01. H3C HDM Family-A G3/G5 builds carrying the Redfish/DRE update tree appear to be affected. HDM2 uses a different update path and is not covered by this finding.

  • Oct 3, 2026In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.86, the raw JCA provider's legacy PBES1 (PKCS#5 scheme 1) and PKCS#12 PBE families ran their password-based key derivation wiCVE-2026-97873 · Other software · Legion of the Bouncy Castle Inc. · reported by 91579145-5d7b-4cc5-b925-a0262ff19630Medium 5.3

In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.86, the raw JCA provider's legacy PBES1 (PKCS#5 scheme 1) and PKCS#12 PBE families ran their password-based key derivation with an iteration count taken from untrusted input without bounding it, so a small input could dictate an arbitrary amount of work before anything could be verified. The AlgorithmParameters implementations (PKCS12PBE and its object identifier aliases, and PBKDF1) accepted any count from an encoded PKCS12PBEParams or PBEParameter, narrowing a value beyond the int range with intValue(), and every Cipher, Mac and SecretKeyFactory in these families derived with whatever count it was given, including one decoded by another provider's AlgorithmParameters, as when javax.crypto.EncryptedPrivateKeyInfo.getKeySpec() decrypts a PKCS#12 PBE-protected private key with BC. Both the parameter parse and the derivations now reject a negative or over-limit count under the org.bouncycastle.pbe.max_iteration_count property (default 10,000,000) that already bounded PBKDF2 (CVE-2026-17508), and the parse rejects a count beyond the int range rather than narrowing it. This issue also affects Bouncy Castle for Java LTS before 2.73.13.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: genetlink: pin family module during policy dump The generic netlink controller's policy dump keeps pointers to the target family's operation and policy tables in its callback state. A dump may be split across multiple skbs and remain pending after the initial request. Netlink pins the module which owns the dump callback, but in this case that is the controller's owner rather than the target family's owner. The target family can consequently be unregistered and its module unloaded while a policy dump is pending. Advancing the dump then dereferences policy memory from the unloaded module. Take a reference to the target family's module when the dump starts. Drop it from the error and done paths. This matches the lifetime for which the dump context retains the family and policy pointers.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rds: filter RDS_INFO_* getsockopt by caller's netns The RDS_INFO_* family of getsockopt(2) options reads several file-scope global lists that are not per-netns: rds_sock_info / rds6_sock_info, rds_sock_inc_info / rds6_sock_inc_info -> rds_sock_list rds_tcp_tc_info / rds6_tcp_tc_info -> rds_tcp_tc_list rds_conn_info / rds6_conn_info, rds_conn_message_info_cmn (for the *_SEND_MESSAGES and *_RETRANS_MESSAGES variants), rds_for_each_conn_info (for RDS_INFO_IB_CONNECTIONS) -> rds_conn_hash[] The handlers do not filter by the caller's network namespace. rds_info_getsockopt() has no netns or capable() check, and rds_create() has no capable() check, so AF_RDS is reachable from an unprivileged user namespace. As a result, an unprivileged caller in a fresh user_ns plus netns can read the bound address and sock inode of every RDS socket on the host, the peer address of incoming messages on every RDS socket on the host, the peer address and TCP sequence numbers of every rds-tcp connection on the host, and the peer address and RDS sequence numbe

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: validate sockaddr length per family in listener_set nfsd_sock_nl_policy declares NFSD_A_SOCK_ADDR as a bare NLA_BINARY attribute with no minimum length. A CAP_NET_ADMIN caller can send a 16-byte NFSD_A_SOCK_ADDR with sa_family=AF_INET6, causing a 12-byte OOB read across three consumers (rpc_cmp_addr_port, svc_find_listener, kernel_bind). nfsd_nl_listener_set_doit() also parsed and validated each listener entry inline in two separate loops, interleaved with mutating the running listener configuration. The validation was duplicated, used an open-coded "nla_len < sizeof(struct sockaddr)" check that was too short for AF_INET6, and handled a malformed entry inconsistently depending on which loop noticed it. Add an nfsd_nl_validate_listeners() helper that walks the entire list once and confirms each entry parses, carries both an address and a transport name, and is long enough for its address family (sizeof(struct sockaddr_in) for AF_INET, sizeof(struct sockaddr_in6) for AF_INET6, -EAFNOSUPPORT otherwise). Call it before taking nfsd_mutex or creating the serv, so a malformed request fails cleanly with no side e

  • Aug 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_nat: reject unsupported target families xt_nat SNAT and DNAT target handlersCVE-2026-80664 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.3

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_nat: reject unsupported target families xt_nat SNAT and DNAT target handlers assume IP-family conntrack state is present and can dereference a NULL pointer when instantiated from an unsupported family through nft_compat. A bridge-family compat rule can therefore trigger a NULL-dereference in nf_nat_setup_info(). Reject non-IP families in xt_nat_checkentry() so unsupported targets cannot be installed. Keep NFPROTO_INET allowed for valid inet NAT compat users and leave the runtime fast path unchanged. [ The crash was fixed via 9dbba7e694ec ("netfilter: nft_compat: ebtables emulation must reject non-bridge targets"), so this patch is no longer critical. Nevertheless, NAT is only relevant for ipv4/ipv6, so this extra family check is a good idea in any case. ]

Similar to other 'ghost domain names' attacks, an adversary needs to control a (ghost) zone and be able to query a vulnerable Unbound. A single client A/AAAA query can cause Unbound to overwrite the cached expired parent-side glue rrset and essentially extend the ghost domain window by up to one cached TTL configured value ('cache-max-ttl'). In configurations where 'harden-referral-path: yes' is used (non-default configuration), no client query is required since Unbound implicitly performs that query. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Disable AVIC IPI virtualization on Hygon Family 18h (erratum #1235) Hygon Family 18h CPUs are derived from AMD Family 17h (Zen1) silicon and share the same erratum #1235: hardware may read a stale IsRunning=1 bit during ICR write emulation and silently fail to generate an AVIC_IPI_FAILURE_TARGET_NOT_RUNNING VM-Exit on the sending vCPU. The absence of the VM-Exit causes KVM to miss the required wakeup of blocking target vCPUs, leading to hung vCPUs and unbounded delays in guest execution. Extend the existing AMD Family 17h erratum #1235 workaround to also cover Hygon Family 18h. With IPI virtualization disabled, KVM never sets IsRunning=1 in the Physical ID table, so every non-self IPI generates a VM-Exit and is correctly emulated.

fast-uri versions 2.3.1 through 3.1.2 and 4.0.0 fail to canonicalize Unicode (IDN) hostnames for HTTP-family URLs. The IDN conversion path calls a helper that does not exist on the global URL constructor, silently leaving the host in its original Unicode form while normalize() and equal() still return values that differ from a WHATWG-compatible URL parser. Applications that use fast-uri to enforce host-based policy (denylists, loopback filtering, redirect validation, outbound proxy routing) before passing the same URL to Node's URL or fetch can be bypassed when the two implementations resolve the same input to different hosts. Patches: upgrade to fast-uri 3.1.3 for the 3.x line or 4.0.1 for the 4.x line. Workarounds: enforce host policy using the same URL parser used for the actual request, or reject non-ASCII hosts before policy checks.

On this SoC the peripheral-triggered DMA start sequencing then writes one byte past the end of the caller-supplied buffer (CWE-787). The overflowed byte's value is the UART RX data supplied by the connected serial peer (adjacent attacker), while its size and location are fixed at one byte immediately after the buffer. Exploitation requires the async UART config (not enabled by default on the in-tree PIC32CM-JH boards) and a consumer that enables RX with a one-byte buffer; impact is limited single-byte memory corruption adjacent to the RX buffer (possible crash / denial of service). The defect shipped in v4.4.0. The fix reads the first byte with the CPU and, for one-byte buffers, performs no DMA at all; for larger buffers it sizes the DMA for the remaining len-1 byte

NLnet Labs Unbound 1.16.2 up to and including version 1.25.0 has a vulnerability of the 'ghost domain names' family of attacks that could extend the ghost domain window by up to one cached TTL configured value. Similar to other 'ghost domain names' attacks, an adversary needs to control a (ghost) zone and be able to query a vulnerable Unbound. A single client NS query can cause Unbound to overwrite the cached expired parent-side referral NS rrset with the child-side apex NS rrset and essentially extend the ghost domain window by up to one cached TTL configured value ('cache-max-ttl'). In configurations where 'harden-referral-path: yes' is used (non-default configuration), no client NS query is required since Unbound implicitly performs that query. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix that does not allow extension of TTLs for (parent) NS records regardless of their trust.
