  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: validate device-supplied DMA indices In btintel_pcie_msix_rx_handCVE-2026-98601 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: validate device-supplied DMA indices In btintel_pcie_msix_rx_handle(), the driver processes RX completion descriptors (urbd1) written by the PCIe device into DMA-coherent memory. urbd1->frbd_tag (a 16-bit field fully controlled by the device firmware via DMA) is used directly as an array index into rxq->bufs[] without any bounds check. rxq->bufs[] has only BTINTEL_PCIE_RX_DESCS_COUNT (64) entries, while frbd_tag can be any value 0-65535. A malicious or malfunctioning device can write an out-of-range frbd_tag, causing the driver to dereference an out-of-bounds data_buf pointer. Additionally, cr_hia is read from a DMA-shared index array also writable by the device; if the device sets cr_hia >= rxq->count, the while-loop never terminates because cr_tia is wrapped via modulo rxq->count and can never equal an out-of-range cr_hia. Add bounds validation for cr_hia and frbd_tag in the RX path, and cr_hia in the TX path. Log invalid values with bt_dev_err before returning.

  • Aug 26, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: Avoid using invalid osd indices from primary_temp A corrupted osdmap received froCVE-2026-80558 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: Avoid using invalid osd indices from primary_temp A corrupted osdmap received from a Ceph monitor or OSD may contain osd indices in its pg_temp, primary_temp, pg_upmap, and pg_upmap_items parts that don't exist, i.e., that are greater than max_osd or smaller than CEPH_HOMELESS_OSD (-1). These indices are used to create the up and acting set in ceph_pg_to_up_acting_osds(), called from calc_target(). While most of these osd indices are checked, the one from primary_temp is not. Subsequently, this may lead to calc_target() returning this (potentially invalid) index as target osd for a (linger) request. Because the osd_state, osd_weight, and osd_addr arrays only contain max_osd entries (with indices 0 to max_osd -1), this leads to out-of-bounds accesses when trying to read values from these arrays. This patch fixes the issue by adding a check to get_temp_osds(), so that only valid osd indices from primary_temp are used, and it falls back to using the primary from pg_temp or the up set if it is invalid. • Aug 20, 2026DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers.CVE-2026-68921 · Other software · dicebear · reported by GitHubMedium 4.7

DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers. Prior to 9.4.3, @dicebear/core interpolates the rotate option into an SVG transform attribute without XML escaping in addRotate in packages/@dicebear/core/src/utils/svg.ts, while @dicebear/initials similarly emits fontSize and fontWeight without escaping in packages/@dicebear/initials/src/index.ts. Runtime callers can pass strings despite the numeric TypeScript types, break out of the attributes, and inject arbitrary SVG markup. Script can execute in the page origin when the generated avatar is inserted inline or served as image/svg+xml and opened directly, although exploitation requires an application to pass untrusted values into these normally developer-controlled options. This issue is fixed in @dicebear/core and @dicebear/initials version 9.4.3.

  • Jul 21, 2026Data::SpatialHash::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow out-of-bounds reads and writes via unvalidated bucket, link and free-list indices in sph_walk_cellCVE-2026-59146 · Other software · EGOR · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.8

Data::SpatialHash::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow out-of-bounds reads and writes via unvalidated bucket, link and free-list indices in sph_walk_cell and sph_alloc_slot. The attach-time validator sph_validate_header checks the header scalars and region layout against the file size, but does not validate the array contents it then trusts. sph_walk_cell reads entries[buckets[b]] and follows each entry's next link raw, and sph_alloc_slot writes through a file-stored free_head index, none bounded against the entry count (max_entries). A local peer that can write the backing file can leave the header valid while poisoning the bucket chain and free list, so a query reads through an out-of-bounds bucket and next index and an insert writes through an out-of-bounds free-list head, corrupting memory or crashing the process.

  • Jul 21, 2026Data::Intern::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated slot, reverse and arena indices in si_idx_find.CVE-2026-59145 · Other software · EGOR · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.1

Data::Intern::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated slot, reverse and arena indices in si_idx_find. The attach-time validator si_validate_header is thorough about the header and layout (magic, version, section offsets, total_size, count and arena_used) but does not validate the three arrays it then trusts. Every lookup in si_idx_find walks a triple indirection read straight from the mmap'd segment, arena[reverse[slots[i].id]], with no bound on slots[i].id against count, on the reverse[id] arena offset against arena_used, or on the arena record's length prefix. A local peer that can write the backing file can leave the header valid while poisoning a slot id, a reverse offset or an arena length prefix, so an id_of, intern or string lookup dereferences the chain out of bounds; because string() returns a file-controlled length of bytes from the arena, adjacent process memory can be disclosed.

Data::RadixTree::Shared versions before 0.02 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated node and arena indices in rdx_find_locked. The attach-time validator rdx_validate_header checks the header scalars and region layout against the file size, but does not validate the node records it then trusts. rdx_find_locked indexes nodes[cur].children[k] and reads each node's label_off and label_len raw from the mmap'd segment, none bounded against the node count or the arena size. Data::SortedSet::Shared versions before 0.03 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated node indices in the rank and min/max query paths. The attach-time validator ss_validate_header bounds only the root index against the node pool (node_capacity). The order-statistics and min/max queries then follow children[], leftmost and rightmost node indices read raw from the mmap'd segment without bounding them against node_capacity. A full structural check (ss_validate_tree) exists but runs only via an explicit validate method, not on attach. A local peer that can write the backing file can leave the header valid while poisoning the tree links, so the next rank, min or max query dereferences an out-of-bounds node index, reading adjacent memory or crashing the process.

  • May 27, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: reject negative CO-RE accessor indices in bpf_core_parse_spec() CO-RE accessor stringCVE-2026-45839 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: reject negative CO-RE accessor indices in bpf_core_parse_spec() CO-RE accessor strings are colon-separated indices that describe a path from a root BTF type to a target field, e.g. "0:1:2" walks through nested struct members. bpf_core_parse_spec() parses each component with sscanf("%d"), so negative values like -1 are silently accepted. The subsequent bounds checks (access_idx >= btf_vlen(t)) only guard the upper bound and always pass for negative values because C integer promotion converts the __u16 btf_vlen result to int, making the comparison (int)(-1) >= (int)(N) false for any positive N. When -1 reaches btf_member_bit_offset() it gets cast to u32 0xffffffff, producing an out-of-bounds read far past the members array. A crafted BPF program with a negative CO-RE accessor on any struct that exists in vmlinux BTF (e.g. task_struct) crashes the kernel deterministically during BPF_PROG_LOAD on any system with CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO_BTF=y (default on major distributions). The bug is reachable with CAP_BPF: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffed11818b6626 #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mo

The lookup currently indexes alts[] with data->sco_num - 1 without first constraining sco_num to the number of available table entries. While the table only defines alternate settings for up to three SCO links, data->sco_num comes from hci_conn_num() and is used directly. Cap the lookup to the last table entry before indexing it so the driver keeps selecting the highest supported alternate setting without reading past alts[].

  • Mar 24, 2026DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers.CVE-2026-33418 · Other software · dicebear · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers. Prior to version 9.4.2, the `ensureSize()` function in `@dicebear/converter` used a regex-based approach to rewrite SVG `width`/`height` attributes, capping them at 2048px to prevent denial of service. This size capping could be bypassed by crafting SVG input that causes the regex to match a non-functional occurrence of `<svg` before the actual SVG root element. When the SVG is subsequently rendered via `@resvg/resvg-js` on the Node.js code path, it renders at the attacker-specified dimensions, potentially causing out-of-memory crashes. In version 9.4.2, the regex-based approach has been replaced with XML-aware processing using `fast-xml-parser` to correctly identify and modify the SVG root element's attributes. Additionally, a `fitTo` constraint has been added to the `renderAsync` call as defense-in-depth, ensuring the rendered output is always bounded regardless of SVG content.

  • Mar 24, 2026DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers.CVE-2026-33311 · Other software · dicebear · reported by GitHubMedium 4.7

DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers. Starting in version 5.0.0 and prior to versions 5.4.4, 6.1.4, 7.1.4, 8.0.3, and 9.4.1, SVG attribute values derived from user-supplied options (`backgroundColor`, `fontFamily`, `textColor`) were not XML-escaped before interpolation into SVG output. This could allow Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) when applications pass untrusted input to `createAvatar()` and serve the resulting SVG inline or with `Content-Type: image/svg+xml`. Starting in versions 5.4.4, 6.1.4, 7.1.4, 8.0.3, and 9.4.1, all affected SVG attribute values are properly escaped using XML entity encoding. Users should upgrade to the listed patched versions. Some mitigating factors limit vulnerability. Applications that validate input against the library's JSON Schema before passing it to `createAvatar()` are not affected. The DiceBear CLI validates input via AJV and was not vulnerable. Exploitation requires that an application passes untrusted, unvalidated external input directly as option values.

  • Mar 18, 2026DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers.CVE-2026-29112 · Other software · dicebear · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

DiceBear is an avatar library for designers and developers. Prior to version 9.4.0, the `ensureSize()` function in `@dicebear/converter` read the `width` and `height` attributes from the input SVG to determine the output canvas size for rasterization (PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF). An attacker who can supply a crafted SVG with extremely large dimensions (e.g. `width="999999999"`) could force the server to allocate excessive memory, leading to denial of service. This primarily affects server-side applications that pass untrusted or user-supplied SVGs to the converter's `toPng()`, `toJpeg()`, `toWebp()`, or `toAvif()` functions. Applications that only convert self-generated DiceBear avatars are not practically exploitable, but are still recommended to upgrade. This is fixed in version 9.4.0. The `ensureSize()` function no longer reads SVG attributes to determine output size. Instead, a new `size` option (default: 512, max: 2048) controls the output dimensions. Invalid values (NaN, negative, zero, Infinity) fall back to the default. If upgrading is not immediately possible, validate and sanitize the `width` and `height` attributes of any untrusted SVG input before passing it to the converter

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-mixer: us16x08: validate meter packet indices get_meter_levels_from_urb() parses the 64-byte meter packets sent by the device and fills the per-channel arrays meter_level[], comp_level[] and master_level[] in struct snd_us16x08_meter_store. Currently the function derives the channel index directly from the meter packet (MUB2(meter_urb, s) - 1) and uses it to index those arrays without validating the range. If the packet contains a negative or out-of-range channel number, the driver may write past the end of these arrays. Introduce a local channel variable and validate it before updating the arrays. We reject negative indices, limit meter_level[] and comp_level[] to SND_US16X08_MAX_CHANNELS, and guard master_level[] updates with ARRAY_SIZE(master_level).

  • Jun 20, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: extable: fix load_unaligned_zeropad() reg indices In ex_handler_load_unaligned_zeroCVE-2022-48762 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: extable: fix load_unaligned_zeropad() reg indices In ex_handler_load_unaligned_zeropad() we erroneously extract the data and addr register indices from ex->type rather than ex->data. As ex->type will contain EX_TYPE_LOAD_UNALIGNED_ZEROPAD (i.e. 4): * We'll always treat X0 as the address register, since EX_DATA_REG_ADDR is extracted from bits [9:5]. Thus, we may attempt to dereference an arbitrary address as X0 may hold an arbitrary value. * We'll always treat X4 as the data register, since EX_DATA_REG_DATA is extracted from bits [4:0]. Thus we will corrupt X4 and cause arbitrary behaviour within load_unaligned_zeropad() and its caller. Fix this by extracting both values from ex->data as originally intended. On an MTE-enabled QEMU image we are hitting the following crash: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000000 Call trace: fixup_exception+0xc4/0x108 __do_kernel_fault+0x3c/0x268 do_tag_check_fault+0x3c/0x104 do_mem_abort+0x44/0xf4 el1_abort+0x40/0x64 el1h_64_sync_handler+0x60/0xa0 el1h_64_sync+0x7c/0x80 link_path_walk+0x150/0x344
