  • Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blktrace: fix __this_cpu_read/write in preemptible context tracing_record_cmdline() internCVE-2026-23374 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blktrace: fix __this_cpu_read/write in preemptible context tracing_record_cmdline() internally uses __this_cpu_read() and __this_cpu_write() on the per-CPU variable trace_cmdline_save, and trace_save_cmdline() explicitly asserts preemption is disabled via lockdep_assert_preemption_disabled(). These operations are only safe when preemption is off, as they were designed to be called from the scheduler context (probe_wakeup_sched_switch() / probe_wakeup()). __blk_add_trace() was calling tracing_record_cmdline(current) early in the blk_tracer path, before ring buffer reservation, from process context where preemption is fully enabled. This triggers the following using blktests/blktrace/002: blktrace/002 (blktrace ftrace corruption with sysfs trace) [failed] runtime 0.367s ... 0.437s something found in dmesg: [ 81.211018] run blktests blktrace/002 at 2026-02-25 22:24:33 [ 81.239580] null_blk: disk nullb1 created [ 81.357294] BUG: using __this_cpu_read() in preemptible [00000000] code: dd/2516 [ 81.362842] caller is tracing_record_cmdline+0x10/0x40 [ 81.362872] CPU: 16 UID:

  • Dec 30, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix blktrace debugfs entries leakage Commit 99d055b4fd4b ("block: remove per-disk dCVE-2023-54209 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix blktrace debugfs entries leakage Commit 99d055b4fd4b ("block: remove per-disk debugfs files in blk_unregister_queue") moves blk_trace_shutdown() from blk_release_queue() to blk_unregister_queue(), this is safe if blktrace is created through sysfs, however, there is a regression in corner case. blktrace can still be enabled after del_gendisk() through ioctl if the disk is opened before del_gendisk(), and if blktrace is not shutdown through ioctl before closing the disk, debugfs entries will be leaked. Fix this problem by shutdown blktrace in disk_release(), this is safe because blk_trace_remove() is reentrant.

  • Sep 18, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: trace/blktrace: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() CVE-2023-53408 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: trace/blktrace: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() the result must have dput() called on it, otherwise the memory will leak over time. To make things simpler, just call debugfs_lookup_and_remove() instead which handles all of the logic at once.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix multipath crash caused by flush request when blktrace is enabled The flush request initialized by blk_kick_flush has NULL bio, and it may be dealt with nvme_end_req during io completion. When blktrace is enabled, nvme_trace_bio_complete with multipath activated trying to access NULL pointer bio from flush request results in the following crash: [ 2517.831677] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 000000000000001a [ 2517.835213] #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode [ 2517.838724] #PF: error_code(0x0000) - not-present page [ 2517.842222] PGD 7b2d51067 P4D 0 [ 2517.845684] Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI [ 2517.849125] CPU: 2 PID: 732 Comm: kworker/2:1H Kdump: loaded Tainted: G S 5.15.67-0.cl9.x86_64 #1 [ 2517.852723] Hardware name: XFUSION 2288H V6/BC13MBSBC, BIOS 1.13 07/27/2022 [ 2517.856358] Workqueue: nvme_tcp_wq nvme_tcp_io_work [nvme_tcp] [ 2517.859993] RIP: 0010:blk_add_trace_bio_complete+0x6/0x30 [ 2517.863628] Code: 1f 44 00 00 48 8b 46 08 31 c9 ba 04 00 10 00 48 8b 80 50 03 00 00 48 8b 78 50 e9 e5 fe ff ff 0f 1f 44 00 00 41 54 49 89 f4 55 <0f> b6 7a 1a 48 89 d5 e8 3e 1c

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
