In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv: futex: untag the user pointer before the atomic access access_ok() checks untagged_addr(uaddr), but arch_futex_atomic_op_inuser() and futex_atomic_cmpxchg_inatomic() hand the raw uaddr to the inline asm amoswap/amoadd/.../lr.w+sc.w through the "+m" (*uaddr) operand. When the tagged address ABI is enabled (CONFIG_RISCV_ISA_SUPM, prctl PR_SET_TAGGED_ADDR_CTRL with PMLEN != 0), those two addresses differ: a user pointer whose top PMLEN bits hold a tag passes access_ok() after untagging, but the atomic is then performed on the still-tagged raw address. Supervisor-mode data accesses are not subject to the U-mode pointer masking (that is governed by menvcfg.PMM, which the kernel does not set), so hardware does not strip the tag for the kernel's own access. With Sv57 and PMLEN=16 the tag bits overlap the canonical-address bits, so a tagged pointer can name a canonical kernel virtual address (e.g. in the linear map) whose untagged form is a valid user address. An unprivileged process can thus make FUTEX_WAKE_OP perform an atomic read-modify-write on an arbitrary kernel address, with the matching FUTEX_OP_CMP_*

  • Oct 22, 2026Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in esaml in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the Erlang VM atom taCVE-2026-86696 · Other software · handnot2 · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in esaml in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the Erlang VM atom table and crash the node via unsigned LogoutResponse messages. esaml:status_code_map/1 in src/esaml.erl maps any StatusCode value it does not recognize to an atom with list_to_atom/1 on the last colon-separated segment of the URN. esaml_sp:validate_logout_response/2 verifies a signature only when the message carries one, so an unsigned LogoutResponse posted to the single-logout endpoint reaches esaml:decode_logout_response/1 and mints one permanent atom per distinct status value. Atoms are never reclaimed and the VM caps the atom table at about one million entries, so an attacker who posts that many distinct values aborts the node. This issue affects esaml: from 0.1.0 onward.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: trigger: cancel reenable_work before freeing trigger iio_trigger_notify_done_atomic() defers ->reenable() into trig->reenable_work on the system workqueue, and the worker dereferences the owning trigger through container_of(). Nothing cancels this work before iio_trig_release() frees the trigger, so a worker armed by the last in-flight IRQ can outlive the free and touch freed memory. Cancel it at the top of iio_trig_release(), which every free path reaches through the device core's final put_device(). Found by an in-house static analysis tool.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dp: skip PUSH_IDLE when the link was never enabled msm_dp_display_atomic_enable() CVE-2026-98313 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dp: skip PUSH_IDLE when the link was never enabled msm_dp_display_atomic_enable() returns early when link training fails, leaving ->power_on false and the main link down. msm_dp_display_atomic_disable() nevertheless writes DP_STATE_CTRL_PUSH_IDLE and waits for an idle-pattern completion that cannot arrive, so every failed enable is followed by "PUSH_IDLE pattern timedout". Every other step of the teardown is already gated on that flag: msm_dp_display_disable(), called from .atomic_post_disable(), returns early on !power_on. The PUSH_IDLE write is the only one that is not, so the controller's runtime-PM reference is then dropped without the link having been taken down. On glymur (Snapdragon X2 Elite) the consequence is not a warning. The SoC does not survive it: TrustZone force-stops the SOCCP and ADSP remote processors and the machine resets silently about 50 ms later, with no oops and no panic. On an ASUS Zenbook A16 (UX3607OA), whose eDP panel does not currently train, this reproduces without any compositor or GPU involvement: # eDP enable has already failed with "Failed link training (rc=-104)"

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gud: fix out-of-bounds write in gud_plane_atomic_check() The plane property loop uses CVE-2026-98181 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gud: fix out-of-bounds write in gud_plane_atomic_check() The plane property loop uses req->properties[num_properties + i] as write index while simultaneously incrementing `num_properties` inside the loop. At iteration i, num_properties has also incremented by i, so the write is done at `initial_num_properties + 2*i`, skipping every other index and advancing by 2 per iteration. With just 2 connector and 32 plane properties the last write happens at index 64, one slot past the end of the 64-slot (indices 0–63) allocation. A USB device can trigger OOB by advertising the maximum number of properties. Fix by dropping the redundant `+ i`; num_properties is already the correct running index, as gud_connector_fill_properties() fills the preceding slots.

  • Oct 5, 2026Ash stores :atom-typed attributes as strings and compares them as strings.CVE-2026-94201 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2

Ash stores :atom-typed attributes as strings and compares them as strings. When such an attribute is referenced in a filter, the comparison value is coerced through Ash.Type.Atom. Because the type defined no coerce/2 callback, coercion fell back to the default (cast_input/2), which calls String.to_atom/1 when the attribute is configured with the unsafe_to_atom?: true constraint. Filtering such an attribute with attacker-controlled strings therefore interned a new, permanent atom for every distinct value. Atoms are never garbage collected and the BEAM caps the atom table, so an actor who can supply filter values for a public, filterable :atom attribute declared with unsafe_to_atom?: true can exhaust the atom table and crash the node (denial of service). AshPaperTrail is a notable example: its version resources expose a public, filterable version_action_name atom attribute with unsafe_to_atom?: true by default. The fix adds a coerce/2 to Ash.Type.Atom that never interns atoms — a comparison value is left as a string, since the type is stored and compared as a string. Setting the attribute from action input (cast_input/2, which still honors unsafe_to_atom?) is unchanged. This issue

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: dat: atomically update mac addresses When a MAC address is updated in batadv_dat_entry_add(), it is done using a simple copy function. A parallel reader might only see parts of this update. In worst case, the reader is transporting the half updated MAC address over the network or is creating an ARP response using it - poisoning the ARP cache. atomic64_t can be used to store the 48 bit of a mac address. A reader will then either see the old mac address or the new one - never a mixture of both.

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup/cpuset: Make nr_deadline_tasks an atomic_t The nr_deadline_tasks variable in the cpCVE-2026-93150 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup/cpuset: Make nr_deadline_tasks an atomic_t The nr_deadline_tasks variable in the cpuset structure was introduced by commit 6c24849f5515 ("sched/cpuset: Keep track of SCHED_DEADLINE task in cpusets"). It is reported by sashiko [1] that nr_deadline_tasks can currently be modified by inc_dl_tasks_cs() under rq->lock and by cpuset_attach() under cpuset_mutex. So if both updates happen simultaneously, the nr_deadline_tasks variable can be corrupted leading to incorrect operations down the road. Fix that by changing its type to atomic_t so that nr_deadline_tasks are always atomically updated. This fix patch is a low hanging fruit. It can handle some of the races between a concurrent sched_setscheduler() and cpuset_can_attach()/cpuset_attach() calls, but not all of them like the other issue raised by sashiko [2]. This will be handled hopefully in a future follow up patch. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, riscv: Fix extable handling for arena load_acquire emit_atomic_ld_st() returns 1 to have build_body() skip the zext after a sub-word load_acquire. The caller does "ret = ret ?: add_exception_handler(...)", which skips add_exception_handler() on any non-zero ret, so the extable entry is missing and a faulting PROBE_ATOMIC load_acquire oopses. REG_DONT_CLEAR_MARKER leaves rd stale on fault, and the verifier still thinks the load overwrote it, so a program can leak it through a map. Check ret >= 0 before calling add_exception_handler(), and pass rd for LOAD_ACQ so the fault zeroes rd like a PROBE_MEM load. Return ret unchanged for the zext skip.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: amba-pl011: keep console clock enabled for atomic writes pl011_console_write_atomic() runs from nbcon atomic context, where sleeping is not allowed. It calls clk_enable(), which takes the common-clk enable_lock. Under PREEMPT_RT that is a sleeping lock: clk_enable_lock() first tries spin_trylock_irqsave(), but on contention falls back to spin_lock_irqsave(). Therefore, an atomic-context printk on an RT kernel with a clk-backed pl011 can trip: BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at spinlock_rt.c:48 __might_resched from rt_spin_lock rt_spin_lock from clk_enable_lock clk_enable_lock from clk_enable clk_enable from pl011_console_write_atomic ... from vprintk_emit This was found and reproduced on PREEMPT_RT. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Check load-acquire src ptr type before the load check_atomic_load() calls check_load_mem() before atomic_ptr_type_ok(). For a load-acquire that fetches into its own source register (dst_reg == src_reg), check_load_mem() overwrites src_reg's type with the type of the loaded value, so the subsequent atomic_ptr_type_ok() no longer sees the source pointer and fails to reject the disallowed types (ctx, pkt, flow_keys, sock). Since bpf_convert_ctx_accesses() does not rewrite atomic loads, the raw access to the underlying kernel object is left in place. The destination type is taken from the ctx access itself, so a load-acquire of the sk field of struct __sk_buff for example leaves the register typed as PTR_TO_SOCK_COMMON_OR_NULL, which type_is_sk_pointer() does not match either, while it actually holds unconverted struct sk_buff bytes. Once the NULL check has passed this is a type confusion, not just a leak of kernel data. Validate src_reg with check_reg_arg() and check the source pointer type with atomic_ptr_type_ok() before the load again, mirroring check_atomic_rmw(). Out-of-range register numbers are already

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, s390: Clear fetch destination on faulting arena atomic Same missing register clear as on riscv64. A RMW atomic on an arena pointer is converted to BPF_PROBE_ATOMIC and gets an exception table entry, but bpf_jit_probe_atomic_pre() only fills in the arena base and the probe offset, leaving probe->reg at the -1 that bpf_jit_probe_init() set, which bpf_jit_probe_post() writes into the entry and ex_handler_bpf() then reads back as "there is nothing to clear". That is right for a plain BPF_{ADD,AND,OR,XOR}, which only writes memory, but an RMW carrying BPF_FETCH also reads the old value into a register: src_reg for BPF_{ADD,AND,OR,XOR} | BPF_FETCH and BPF_XCHG, and r0 for BPF_CMPXCHG. So on a fault over an unmapped arena page the program resumes at the landing pad with whatever that register held before the atomic instead of the 0 that every other BPF_PROBE_* access delivers. Fill probe->reg in from bpf_atomic_load_reg(). Unlike x86-64 and arm64, s390x does not report arena violations from its exception handler, so there is no access direction to correct here, only the missing register clear.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: pcm: Fix race between non-atomic ops and trigger-start We protect the races of the concurrent state transitions between atomic PCM ops, but the checks between the non-atomic ops (hw_params, hw_free and prepare) and the atomic ops aren't perfect; there is a check of the conflicting PCM state at the beginning of hw_params & co, but the atomic PCM ops can be still issued during the non-atomic PCM operations. An example such scenario is that a thread A re-issues the PREPARE or HW_PARAMS for the already prepared stream, while another thread B triggers the PCM start in the middle of the prepare operation. Although this usually doesn't lead to much serious issues, it can give some inconsistency as reported by syzkaller (such as ODEBUG warning). There are various atomic PCM ops, and basically the only problem is the PCM start as it operates from the PREPARED state. Other trigger commands (stop, etc) are for the running or the other special state, hence they are filtered as pre-condition. This patch is for preventing the PCM trigger-start during the non- atomic operations in order to address the problems above.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: ensure nfsd_file_do_acquire() does not use a non-opened file ->atomic_open is permitted to return success without actually opening the file. It indicates this by calling finish_no_open(). This means dentry_create() can return a file which hasn't been opened. This is extremely unlikely as ->atomic_open handlers typically use finish_no_open() only for already existing files, and dentry_create() isn't called in that case, and the parent being locked should prevent races. However out of an abundance of caution it seems wise to teach nfsd to only use the file returned by dentry_create() if FMODE_OPENED is set, indicating that it has in fact been opened.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openrisc: fix arbitrary kernel memory access via or1k_atomic syscall sys_or1k_atomic() (syscall 244 in the "or1k" ABI) takes two user pointers, v1 and v2, and swaps the words they point to in hand-written assembly. l.lwz r29,0(r4) l.lwz r27,0(r5) l.sw 0(r4),r27 l.sw 0(r5),r29 The pointers are not checked with access_ok(). The four memory accesses also have no exception table entries. A caller passes a kernel address as either pointer, and the syscall reads from and writes to it directly. This gives an unprivileged process a kernel read/write primitive. It overwrites kernel data such as the sys_call_table, gaining code execution in kernel context. Check both pointers before entering the critical section. Add fixups for the four memory accesses so faults on valid but unmapped user addresses return -EFAULT. [shorne@gmail.com: fix comment style]

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix responder UAF on IB_QP_MAX_DEST_RD_ATOMIC modify_qp rxe_qp_from_attr() handles IB_QP_MAX_DEST_RD_ATOMIC outside the IB_QP_STATE path, so it holds no state_lock and runs while the responder task rxe_receiver() (recv_task on rxe_wq) is live. A modify_qp() setting only that attribute calls free_rd_atomic_resources() then alloc_rd_atomic_resources(), swapping qp->resp.resources[] while rxe_prepare_res()/find_resource() walk it; free_rd_atomic_resources() also leaves the cached pointer qp->resp.res dangling. A local unprivileged user can race the free/realloc into a use-after-free in rxe_receiver() (local DoS). Drain recv_task around the swap with rxe_disable_task()/rxe_enable_task(), as rxe_qp_reset() already does when tearing this array down, re-enabling only after alloc_rd_atomic_resources() succeeds so the responder never resumes against a NULL qp->resp.resources on the ENOMEM path. Also clear qp->resp.res in free_rd_atomic_resources(), like the rxe_resp.c completion paths. Reproduced under KASAN; the slab-use-after-free in rxe_receiver() is gone.

PikiwiDB (Pika) v3.5.7 exposes an internal protobuf replication server on a port derived from the client port plus 2000 (e.g. 11221 when the default client port 9221 is used) that does not authenticate incoming requests. Although requirepass is intended to gate replication — a slave presents it as masterauth inside its MetaSync request — only the MetaSync handler (HandleMetaSyncRequest) validates it; the frame dispatcher (DealMessage) does not require a completed or attempted MetaSync before routing other message types to their handlers. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker can connect directly to the replication port and issue TrySync, DBSync, BinlogSync, and RemoveSlaveNode requests, obtaining the full-sync snapshot and live write stream and removing replica nodes, even when requirepass is configured.

  • Sep 1, 2026Missing Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an actor to update records forbidden by resource policies through the atomic path of Ash.update_maCVE-2026-82746 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 5.9

Missing Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an actor to update records forbidden by resource policies through the atomic path of Ash.update_many/4. Ash.update_many/4 runs as a single atomic statement (a data-layer update_many, for example a SQL MERGE) whenever an atomic strategy is used and the data layer supports it. Ash.Actions.Update.UpdateMany (lib/ash/actions/update/update_many.ex) took that path even under authorize?: true without applying the resource's policies, so the statement updated every row matched by primary key regardless of the policy filter that authorization would impose. An actor could therefore update records the policies forbid, such as rows belonging to another actor or tenant. The fix restricts the atomic path to data layers supporting changeset filters when authorizing, authorizes each changeset, and merges the resulting policy filter into each changeset so the statement only touches authorized rows. This issue affects ash: from 3.29.0 before 3.32.2.

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in ash-project ash_typescript allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the BEAM atom table and abort the node via client-supplied typed struct field names. resolve_typed_struct_field/2 in lib/ash_typescript/rpc/field_processing/field_selector.ex looks a client-supplied field name up in the typed struct's reverse map and, when it finds no match, falls back to String.to_atom/1. Because this runs before any field-existence check, an unresolvable name mints a permanent atom rather than being rejected as unknown. Atoms are never garbage collected, so a request carrying many distinct names on a typed struct field grows the atom table until the VM aborts at its limit. Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in ash-project ash_typescript allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the BEAM atom table and abort the node via client-supplied RPC field names. AshTypescript.FieldFormatter.convert_to_field_atom/2 in lib/ash_typescript/field_formatter.ex converts a client-supplied field name to an atom with String.to_atom/1 when no matching atom already exists. It delegates first to parse_input_field/2, which resolves the name with String.to_existing_atom/1 and falls back to returning the plain string; convert_to_field_atom/2 then mints an atom from that string rather than treating the name as unknown. RPC field selection reaches it for every requested field name through AshTypescript.Rpc.FieldProcessing.FieldSelector, which resolves each name before checking that the field exists, with no allowlist, length bound, or rate limit. Atoms are never garbage collected, so each distinct name mints a permanent one and the VM aborts once the atom table limit is reached. A field name over 255 characters additionally raises an uncaught SystemLimitError. This issue affects ash_typescript: from 0.1.0 before 0.18.0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: enforce cursor size limits for MOB cursors vmw_cursor_plane_atomic_check() bounds cursor width and height only on the legacy update path; the SVGA_CAP2_CURSOR_MOB path -- the default on modern hosts -- accepts any size. When the requested size exceeds SVGA_REG_CURSOR_MAX_DIMENSION or SVGA_REG_MOB_MAX_SIZE, vmw_cursor_mob_get() returns -EINVAL and leaves vps->cursor.mob NULL. Its return value is then discarded in vmw_cursor_plane_prepare_fb(), so the subsequent vmw_cursor_update_mob() calls vmw_bo_map_and_cache(NULL) and oopses inside vmw_bo_map_and_cache_size() on the tbo.base.size load. Reachable from any DRM master via DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CURSOR2 with a sufficiently large width or height (e.g. cursor_max_dim + 1). Reject oversized cursors in atomic_check for both MOB-backed cursor update types. The MOB byte-size limit only applies to the SVGA_CAP2_CURSOR_MOB path (vmw_cursor_mob_size() returns 0 for GB_ONLY); compute the required MOB size in 64-bit to avoid overflow when very large dimensions are requested. If media_entity_pads_init() fails, gc2235_remove() is called, which tears down the subdev and frees dev, but then still falls through to atomisp_register_i2c_module(). This results in use-after-free. If atomisp_register_i2c_module() fails, the media entity and control handler are left initialized and dev is leaked. gc2235_remove() unconditionally calls media_entity_cleanup() and v4l2_ctrl_handler_free(), but these are not initialized at every error path in gc2235_probe(). Replace gc2235_remove() calls in the probe error paths with explicit unwind labels that free only the resources initialized at each point of failure, in reverse order of initialization.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: raid1: fix nr_pending leak in REQ_ATOMIC bad-block error path In raid1_write_request(), each per-mirror loop iteration begins by incrementing rdev->nr_pending. If a REQ_ATOMIC write encounters a badblock within the requested range, the code jumps to err_handle without dropping the reference taken for the current mirror. err_handle's cleanup loop will only decrements for k < i and r1_bio->bios[k] is non-NULL. The current slot is therefore skipped, leaving its nr_pending reference leaked permanently. The reference prevents the rdev from ever being removed, since raid1_remove_conf() refuses to remove an rdev with nr_pending > 0. Fix this by calling rdev_dec_pending() before jumping to err_handle.

Worse, it returns without a NACK+STOP: the next receive cycle has already started, so the target keeps holding SDA and the bus stays stuck until a power cycle for this i2c controller. Reading I2DR to obtain the count likewise arms the next byte on the count > I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX path, which also returned -EPROTO directly and left the bus held. Handle both: NACK the in-flight dummy byte (TXAK) and extend msgs->len so the existing last-byte handling emits STOP; the dummy byte is discarded. A count of 0 is a valid empty block read; a count above I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX is still reported as -EPROTO, but only after the bus has been released. The interrupt-driven path has the same flaw from a later commit and is fixed separately, as it carries a different Fixes: tag and stable range.

That improves diagnostics, but it also removes the single-writer property that made the old csd_lock() safe: multiple CPUs can now prepare the same destination CPU CSD concurrently. csd_lock() currently waits for CSD_FLAG_LOCK to clear and then sets the bit with a non-atomic read-modify-write. Two senders can both see an unlocked CSD, set the bit, overwrite the callback fields, and enqueue the same llist node. Re-adding a node that is already the queue head can make node->next point to itself, leaving the target CPU stuck walking call_single_queue. Later synchronous work, such as a TLB shootdown, can then remain queued and trigger soft-lockup warnings or panics. Keep the single csd_lock() implementation, but when CSD lock debugging is enabled, acquire CSD_FLAG_LOCK with try_cmpxchg_acquire(). This makes the destination CPU CSD a real atomic lock

Uptime Kuma's Matomo analytics integration (server/analytics/matomo-analytics.js) injects the admin-configurable Matomo value as a bare, unquoted JavaScript expression inside a <script> block rendered on every public status page. A siteId value such as , once saved by an editor/admin, executes arbitrary JavaScript for every unauthenticated visitor of the public /status/<slug> page, enabling session-cookie theft and full page takeover.

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in ueberauth guardian (Guardian.Permissions module) allows a denial of service via BEAM atom-table exhaustion. This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/guardian/permissions.ex and program routines 'Elixir.Guardian.Permissions':encode_permissions!/1, 'Elixir.Guardian.Permissions':encode_permissions_into_claims!/2, 'Elixir.Guardian.Permissions':do_encode_permissions!/2. The Guardian.Permissions mixin installs a public encode_permissions!/1 function on every module that does use Guardian.Permissions. For each key of the supplied map, encode_permissions!/1 calls String.to_atom(to_string(k)) before any validation runs. The integer-value clause of do_encode_permissions!/2 then short-circuits straight to encoding without validating the key against the configured permission set, so a key with an integer value is interned as a fresh atom with no exception raised. Atoms are never garbage collected and the BEAM atom table is a fixed-size resource (default roughly 1,048,576 entries), so each unique attacker-chosen key permanently consumes one slot. An attacker who can influence a permission map that reaches enco

  • Aug 1, 2026Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in ueberauth guardian allows denial of service via unbounded atom creation from attacker-controlled binary CVE-2026-55733 · Other software · ueberauth · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.9

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in ueberauth guardian allows denial of service via unbounded atom creation from attacker-controlled binary input. Guardian.Permissions.AtomEncoding encodes permission scopes by passing arbitrary binaries to String.to_atom/1. When encode/3 in lib/guardian/permissions/atom_encoding.ex is called with a list, each binary entry is handled by the encode_value/3 binary clause, which calls String.to_atom(value) with no allow-list check. The perm_set argument (the application's small, finite set of legitimate permission names) is discarded, so any external string flows straight into atom creation. This encoder is selected with use Guardian.Permissions, encoding: Guardian.Permissions.AtomEncoding and reached through the imported encode/3 entry point. String.to_atom/1 creates a brand-new atom for every previously unseen binary, atoms are never garbage collected, and the BEAM atom table is fixed at roughly 1,048,576 entries by default. An application that funnels attacker-influenced permission scopes (from a request body, a JWT claim, or other external input) into encode/3 therefore mints one permanent atom per distinct value. A modest str

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
