  • Oct 23, 2026odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt.CVE-2026-55606 · Other software · openwrt · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. In versions 25.12 and prior, odhcpd's DHCPv6 self-loop detection at dhcpv6.c:720 uses a network-byte-order DUID length value directly as the memcmp() size parameter. On little-endian hosts, this causes memcmp() to read far beyond the stack buffer — a single unauthenticated DHCPv6 packet triggers a 2560-byte overread from a 128-byte buffer. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.

odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. Prior to version 25.12, odhcpd's DHCPv6 IA response handler writes past the end of a fixed 512-byte stack buffer (pdbuf) when a single DHCPv6 REQUEST carries enough IA options to nearly exhaust the reply space. Two independent overflow sites exist in the same call chain, both reachable from the network via a single unauthenticated UDP packet. odhcpd runs as root on OpenWrt; embedded targets often lack stack canaries and ASLR, making code execution realistic. This issue has been patched in version 25.12.

  • Oct 23, 2026odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt.CVE-2026-53920 · Other software · openwrt · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. From version 17.01.0 to before version 25.12.3, odhcpd's DHCPv6 IA parser accepts an IA_NA or IA_PD option whose body is shorter than struct dhcpv6_ia_hdr, casts the option header to that full structure, and reads ia->iaid before proving that the IA body contains the IAID field. If an unauthenticated network-adjacent client places a zero-length or otherwise short IA option at the end of odhcpd's 8192-byte receive stack buffer, the IAID read crosses from data_buf into adjacent stack memory. The disclosed bytes are then reflected in the DHCPv6 reply IAID; prior ARM validation showed data_buf[8192:8196] disclosing the saved stack canary, and wider stack scans can leak ASLR-useful stack/process contents. This issue has been patched in version 25.12.3.

odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. Prior to version 25.12, odhcpd's DHCPv6 IA handler keeps a per-message `first` lease pointer so multiple IA options in one message reuse the same Reconfigure authentication key. A DHCPv6 REQUEST from an adjacent-network client can make the first IA set `first`, then make a later same-IAID IA fail the on-link check and free that same lease, leaving `first` dangling. A following IA in the same packet allocates a new lease and copies `first->key`, producing a 16-byte heap-use-after-free read. ASan confirms the UAF; native tracing shows the packet shape can deterministically reclaim the freed lease as the destination allocation, producing a zeroed Reconfigure key copy. The validated impact is unauthenticated adjacent-network denial of service and DHCPv6 Reconfigure/ForceRenew key confusion. Arbitrary PC control is not proven for this UAF alone. This issue has been patched in version 25.12.

odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. In commit cfddd56 and earlier, an unauthenticated host on the same link can first obtain two bindings through normal DHCPv6 SOLICIT and REQUEST exchanges and then send a crafted RENEW containing multiple IA_NA options. An earlier matched IA consumes most of the response buffer, an unmatched IA causes the build_ia() status branch to write and return a NOBINDING response larger than the remaining space, and a subsequent matched IA is processed after dhcpv6_ia_handle_IAs() subtracts that over-return from an unsigned size_t. The resulting underflow disables subsequent length checks and permits attacker-controlled IA_ADDR serialization beyond the 512-byte stack buffer pdbuf in handle_client_request(). The stack canary terminates odhcpd, and sustained packets can repeatedly disrupt DHCPv6 service while procd respawns the process. The observed configuration does not establish code execution.

  • Aug 19, 2026The IPv6 neighbor-discovery code in subsys/net/ip/ipv6_nbr.c processes the 6LoWPAN Context Option (6CO, RFC 6775) carried inside ICMPv6 Router Advertisements.CVE-2026-12633 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 8.1

The IPv6 neighbor-discovery code in subsys/net/ip/ipv6_nbr.c processes the 6LoWPAN Context Option (6CO, RFC 6775) carried inside ICMPv6 Router Advertisements. In handle_ra_6co() the 8-bit context_len field is taken directly from the packet and was never bounded to the RFC maximum of 128. The function computes context->context_len / 8 and then performs memset(context->prefix + context_len, 0, sizeof(context->prefix) - context_len), where context->prefix is a fixed 16-byte array. With context_len between 136 and 255 (and the option length field set to 3, which the pre-fix validation accepts), context_len / 8 evaluates to 17..31, so the memset length 16 - context_len/8 underflows the unsigned size_t argument to roughly SIZE_MAX. This produces an unbounded out-of-bounds memset that zeroes kernel memory well past the 6lo context structure. The defect is reachable from unauthenticated, link-local input: any host on the same link can send a crafted Router Advertisement with a 6CO option. The RA handler validates only the option length field before calling handle_ra_6co(), so a single packet triggers the wild write. The code is compiled when CONFIG_NET_6LO_CONTEXT is enabled. • May 5, 2026Pi-hole FTL is the core engine of the Pi-hole network-level advertisement and tracker blocker.CVE-2026-39849 · Other software · pi-hole · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Pi-hole FTL is the core engine of the Pi-hole network-level advertisement and tracker blocker. In versions before 6.6.1, the `dns.interface` configuration field in Pi-hole FTL accepted newline characters without validation, allowing an attacker to inject arbitrary directives into the generated dnsmasq configuration file. On installations with no admin password set (the default for many deployments), the configuration API is fully accessible without credentials, allowing a network-adjacent attacker to inject the payload, enable the built-in DHCP server, and achieve arbitrary command execution on the host the next time any device on the network requests a DHCP lease. The injected value is persisted to /etc/pihole/pihole.toml and survives restarts. The strncpy in the code path limits the total interface field to 31 bytes, but payloads such as wlan0\ndhcp-script=/tmp/p fit within this constraint. The dnsmasq config validation introduced in FTL 6.6 only checks syntactic validity, so valid directives injected via newline pass validation successfully. This issue has been fixed in version 6.6.1.

  • Apr 6, 2026Pi-hole is a Linux network-level advertisement and Internet tracker blocking application.CVE-2026-33727 · Other software · pi-hole · reported by GitHubMedium 6.4

Pi-hole is a Linux network-level advertisement and Internet tracker blocking application. Version 6.4 has a local privilege-escalation vulnerability allows code execution as root from the low-privilege pihole account. Important context: the pihole account uses nologin, so this is not a direct interactive-login issue. However, nologin does not prevent code from running as UID pihole if a Pi-hole component is compromised. In that realistic post-compromise scenario, attacker-controlled content in /etc/pihole/versions is sourced by root-run Pi-hole scripts, leading to root code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.4.1.

Pi-hole Admin Interface is a web interface for managing Pi-hole, a network-level advertisement and internet tracker blocking application. Pi-hole Admin Interface before 6.3 is vulnerable to Carriage Return Line Feed (CRLF) injection. When a request is made to a file ending with the .lp extension, the application performs a redirect without properly sanitizing the input. An attacker can inject carriage return and line feed characters (%0d%0a) to manipulate both the headers and the content of the HTTP response. This enables the injection of arbitrary HTTP response headers, potentially leading to session fixation, cache poisoning, and the weakening or bypassing of browser-based security mechanisms such as Content Security Policy or X-XSS-Protection. • Apr 15, 2020A vulnerability in the 802.11 Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) frame processing function of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Software could allow an unautCVE-2020-3273 · Network & remote access · Cisco · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 7.5

A vulnerability in the 802.11 Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) frame processing function of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS). The vulnerability is due to incomplete input validation of the 802.11 GAS frames that are processed by an affected device. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted 802.11 GAS frame over the air to an access point (AP), and that frame would then be relayed to the affected WLC. Also, an attacker with Layer 3 connectivity to the WLC could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious 802.11 GAS payload in a Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) packet to the device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the affected device to reload, resulting in a DoS.

  • Jul 24, 2018Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol implementations may improperly determine Link State Advertisement (LSA) recency for LSAs with MaxSequenceNumber.CVE-2017-3224 · Other software · Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) · reported by cret@cert.orgHigh 8.2

Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol implementations may improperly determine Link State Advertisement (LSA) recency for LSAs with MaxSequenceNumber. According to RFC 2328 section 13.1, for two instances of the same LSA, recency is determined by first comparing sequence numbers, then checksums, and finally MaxAge. In a case where the sequence numbers are the same, the LSA with the larger checksum is considered more recent, and will not be flushed from the Link State Database (LSDB). Since the RFC does not explicitly state that the values of links carried by a LSA must be the same when prematurely aging a self-originating LSA with MaxSequenceNumber, it is possible in vulnerable OSPF implementations for an attacker to craft a LSA with MaxSequenceNumber and invalid links that will result in a larger checksum and thus a 'newer' LSA that will not be flushed from the LSDB. Propagation of the crafted LSA can result in the erasure or alteration of the routing tables of routers within the routing domain, creating a denial of service condition or the re-routing of traffic on the network. CVE-2017-3224 has been reserved for Quagga and downstream implementations (SUSE, openSUSE, and Red Ha
