In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: displayport: Fix OOB altmode array index The UCSI displayport driver indexes the connector's port altmode array with the GET_CURRENT_CAM response after checking it is not 0xff. The port altmode array is UCSI_MAX_ALTMODES elements long. If the PPM returns an invalid GET_CURRENT_CAM response above UCSI_MAX_ALTMODES and not equal to 0xff, the kernel may crash with an array index OOB error. Update the UCSI displayport driver to verify the current cam is less than UCSI_MAX_ALTMODES before accessing the port altmode array.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: rmi: fix OOB access with undersized RMI reports The hid-rmi driver sizes its writeReport/readReport buffer purely from the report descriptor supplied by the device, with no minimum bound: data->input_report_size = hid_report_len(input_report); data->output_report_size = hid_report_len(output_report); alloc_size = data->output_report_size + data->input_report_size; data->writeReport = devm_kzalloc(&hdev->dev, alloc_size, GFP_KERNEL); data->readReport = data->writeReport + data->output_report_size; but then reads and writes fixed offsets into it. A device declaring a 1-byte output and a 1-byte input report makes hid_report_len() return 2 for each, so alloc_size is 4, while rmi_set_page() -- reached unconditionally at probe time through rmi_input_configured() -- stores writeReport[4] and rmi_hid_read_block() stores writeReport[0..5]. Since readReport lives at writeReport + output_report_size, those stores also corrupt the window the next reply is parsed out of. The read path is worse: the copy length comes from readReport[1], which the device fills in and can be up to 255, and the copy starts at &rea

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/vfio-ap: Fix dereference matrix_mdev->kvm without checking for NULL The ap_driver structure has two fields which are function pointers to callbacks: * .on_config_changed: called at the start of the AP bus scan function to notify the device driver that the host AP configuration has changed and the associated AP devices will be added or removed accordingly. This gives the implementor a chance to evaluate the configuration changes and respond to them before the associated devices are added or removed. * .on_scan_complete: Called at the end of the AP bus scan function to notify the device driver that the host AP configuration has changed and the AP devices have been added or removed accordingly. This gives the implementor the opportunity to respond to the changes after the associated devices are added or removed. These two callbacks are implemented

Sep 16, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Guard against NULL driver_data in i915_pci_probe() pci_match_device() can returnCVE-2026-89822 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Guard against NULL driver_data in i915_pci_probe() pci_match_device() can return the dummy pci_device_id_any entry when a device is force-bound via sysfs driver_override, in which case ->driver_data is unset (NULL). i915_pci_probe() casts it to struct intel_device_info * unconditionally and dereferences intel_info->require_force_probe, causing a NULL-ptr-deref. Sep 14, 2026The ITE it51xxx I2C driver, when operating as an I2C target (slave) in buffer mode (CONFIG_I2C_TARGET + CONFIG_I2C_TARGET_BUFFER_MODE), copies host-supplied wriCVE-2026-14986 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.8
The ITE it51xxx I2C driver, when operating as an I2C target (slave) in buffer mode (CONFIG_I2C_TARGET + CONFIG_I2C_TARGET_BUFFER_MODE), copies host-supplied write data into the fixed-size data->target_in_buffer inside its target FIFO interrupt handler target_i2c_isr_fifo() in drivers/i2c/i2c_ite_it51xxx.c. The copy loop stores to target_in_buffer[i + data->w_index] and only checks data->w_index against sizeof(data->target_in_buffer) after the write has already completed, so the bounds check cannot prevent the overflow. The running index data->w_index accumulates count bytes on every FIFO-fill interrupt of an ongoing transaction and is reset to zero only on a STOP or timeout condition. An I2C host that streams a single write transaction longer than the buffer (default CONFIG_I2C_TARGET_IT51XXX_MAX_BUF_SIZE = 256 bytes) drives data->w_index past the end of the buffer, and each subsequent host byte is written out of bounds into the adjacent data->target_out_buffer and following static device data. The trigger is a malicious or misbehaving I2C master on the same bus (for example a compromised application processor or a rogue device on an exposed I2C bus); no software privilege on the

Sep 14, 2026The ITE it82xx2 USB device-controller driver initialized its bus-suspend detection work with k_work_init_delayable(&priv->suspended_work, suspended_handler) insCVE-2026-16148 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.6
The ITE it82xx2 USB device-controller driver initialized its bus-suspend detection work with k_work_init_delayable(&priv->suspended_work, suspended_handler) inside it82xx2_enable() (the driver's .enable op) in drivers/usb/udc/udc_it82xx2.c. This work item is scheduled essentially continuously while the USB bus is active: the interrupt handler reschedules it on every SOF frame and suspended_handler() reschedules itself, so its timeout node is normally linked in the kernel timeout list / a workqueue pending queue. k_work_init_delayable() (kernel/work.c) unconditionally overwrites the entire k_work_delayable structure, including its timeout and queue linkage, with no busy check. Because it82xx2_disable() does not cancel the work, a normal disable-then-enable cycle re-runs api->enable() (udc_enable() only rejects a redundant enable, not a re-enable after disable) and re-initializes the still-pending work in place, corrupting the kernel timeout/workqueue linked lists and causing a kernel panic. An external USB host — for example a host performing USB DFU detach (dfu-util --detach) or forcing repeated attach/reset/re-enumeration — drives the udc_disable()/udc_enable() transitions and c

Sep 14, 2026The ITE IT82xx2 USB device-controller driver (drivers/usb/udc/udc_it82xx2.c) mishandles multi-packet OUT transfers on non-control endpoints.CVE-2026-16147 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.8
The ITE IT82xx2 USB device-controller driver (drivers/usb/udc/udc_it82xx2.c) mishandles multi-packet OUT transfers on non-control endpoints. In work_handler_out() the active transfer buffer is obtained with udc_buf_peek() (which does not dequeue it); when a full max-packet-size packet arrives but the buffer still has tailroom (the transfer is not yet complete), the pre-fix code both re-arms the endpoint to keep filling that same buf via work_handler_xfer_continue() and simultaneously hands the same, still-being-filled buffer to the upper stack with udc_submit_ep_event(). Because udc_submit_ep_event() transfers ownership of the buffer to the USB device stack (usbd_event_carrier() appends &buf->node to uds_ctx->ep_events, after which the class handler processes and net_buf_unref()s it), the driver continues to DMA subsequent host-controlled OUT packets into a buffer the upper stack may already have freed and recycled — a use-after-free write. In addition, since the buffer was never dequeued, the completing packet runs udc_buf_get() on the same object and submits it a second time, appending &buf->node to the event slist twice (singly-linked-list corruption) and causing a double net_b

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource/drivers/nxp-pit: Fix IRQ leak on cpuhp_setup_state error path When cpuhp_setup_state fails after pit_clockevent_per_cpu_init has successfully called request_irq, the error handling jumps directly to out_pit_clocksource_unregister without freeing the registered IRQ. This leaks the IRQ line and, since kfree(pit) follows, leaves a dangling pointer registered as the interrupt handler's dev_id, potentially leading to a use-after-free if the IRQ fires afterwards. Fix it by calling pit_clockevent_per_cpu_exit to properly release the IRQ before falling through to the existing cleanup chain.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: sony: fix UAF of ghl_poke_timer / ghl_urb at driver unbind For GHL (Guitar Hero Live)CVE-2026-89625 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: sony: fix UAF of ghl_poke_timer / ghl_urb at driver unbind For GHL (Guitar Hero Live) dongles, sony_probe() arms a periodic timer: ghl_magic_poke() (the timer callback) submits sc->ghl_urb, and the URB completion ghl_magic_poke_cb() re-arms the timer with mod_timer(). sony_remove() drained the timer with timer_delete_sync() and then freed the URB with usb_free_urb(): timer_delete_sync(&sc->ghl_poke_timer); usb_free_urb(sc->ghl_urb); timer_delete_sync() does not block re-arming, and while the URB is in flight the timer is not pending, so the sync delete is a no-op. A URB completion that runs after the delete re-arms the timer, and usb_free_urb() only drops a reference -- it does not kill an in-flight URB. sc is allocated with devm_kzalloc() and freed once sony_remove() returns, so the re-armed ghl_poke_timer (embedded in sc) then fires on freed memory, a use-after-free from timer softirq. This is a disconnect/rmmod race. Poison the URB first, then shut the timer down, before freeing the URB. usb_poison_urb() kills any in-flight URB and permanently rejects further submissions, so a poke timer that is sti

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/ionic: Embed counter driver data in rdma_counter allocation Commit 7e53b31acc7f ("RDMA/core: Create and destroy rdma_counter using rdma_zalloc_drv_obj()") requires drivers implementing counter ops to embed struct rdma_counter in a driver-specific struct, register its size via INIT_RDMA_OBJ_SIZE, and provide a counter_init callback. The ionic driver was merged without this adaptation, causing a NULL pointer dereference in alloc_and_bind() since rdma_zalloc_drv_obj() allocates zero bytes when size_rdma_counter is unset. Consolidate struct ionic_counter into a new struct ionic_rdma_counter that embeds struct rdma_counter, replace the xarray with a lightweight ida for ID allocation, and add the required counter_init and INIT_RDMA_OBJ_SIZE declarations.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i3c: renesas: Check that the transfer is valid before accessing it The Renesas I3C driver uses an asynchronous model to transfer data. It prepares a struct renesas_i3c_xfer, enqueues it, and waits for completion. The interrupt handler dequeues the transfer, updates/uses it, and signals the waiting thread. If the completion times out, the waiting thread dequeues the transfer and free it. If an interrupt fires after that, the handler may access freed memory, leading to crashes. Check that the transfer is still valid before accessing it in the interrupt handler. With it clear any status flags and disable all the interrupts to avoid triggering the same interrupts again.

Sep 10, 2026The Sierra Wireless HL78xx modem GNSS driver (drivers/modem/hl78xx/, later drivers/modem/vendor_standalone/hl78xx/) embeds a generic struct gnss_nmea0183_match_CVE-2026-15461 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 5.3
The Sierra Wireless HL78xx modem GNSS driver (drivers/modem/hl78xx/, later drivers/modem/vendor_standalone/hl78xx/) embeds a generic struct gnss_nmea0183_match_data match_data inside struct hl78xx_gnss_data. The generic NMEA0183 match helper (drivers/gnss/gnss_nmea0183_match.c) requires that context to be the first member because its callbacks cast user_data directly to struct gnss_nmea0183_match_data . In the affected releases match_data was the second member (after const struct device dev), so it sat at a non-zero offset while gnss_nmea0183_match_init() initialized it at the correct address. The registered NMEA handlers instead pass the whole device data object (data->devices.gnss->data, offset 0), producing an offset-shifted type confusion between where state is initialized and where the parse callbacks read and write it. When NMEA sentences from the GNSS receiver are parsed, the GGA/RMC callbacks write parsed fix data into the wrong location within the struct, and the GSV callback (gnss_nmea0183_match_gsv_callback, active under CONFIG_GNSS_SATELLITES) reads its satellites pointer and bound from the wrong offsets — non-pointer bytes of struct hl78xx_gnss_data — and then writes

Sep 10, 2026An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was discovered in the Bosch BME690 SensorAPI (C-driver) in version v1.0.3 and prior, specifically within the field data parsCVE-2026-42806 · Other software · Bosch Sensortec · reported by psirt@bosch.comMedium 4.3
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was discovered in the Bosch BME690 SensorAPI (C-driver) in version v1.0.3 and prior, specifically within the field data parsing logic in read_all_field_data (bme69x.c). The driver prefetches heater configuration registers into a contiguous 30-byte stack buffer (set_val) mapping IDAC, RES_HEAT, and GAS_WAIT tables. When parsing sensor field data, the gas_index is extracted using a 4-bit mask (0..15) but lacks boundary verification against the valid range (0..9). An attacker or a compromised peripheral mimicking a sensor on the I2C/SPI bus could return a payload with a gas index value of 10 or higher. This causes the driver to perform an out-of-bounds array access (set_val[20 + gas_index]), reading up to 6 bytes past the stack buffer. The leaked out-of-bounds byte is then written into the public gas_wait field, which may lead to measurement corruption or leak adjacent stack memory when telemetered or logged.

Sep 9, 2026A vulnerability in the Thesycon DPC Latency Checker driver (dpc.sys) thru 1.4.0 allows local unprivileged users to cause a denial-of-service (BSOD) condition onCVE-2025-51619 · Other software · reported by MITREMedium 5.5
A vulnerability in the Thesycon DPC Latency Checker driver (dpc.sys) thru 1.4.0 allows local unprivileged users to cause a denial-of-service (BSOD) condition on Windows systems. The driver exposes an IOCTL interface (0x81772008) that accepts user-controlled input without validating pointers before passing them to kernel APIs. Specifically, it dereferences a user-supplied pointer and uses the resulting value in a call to ExSetTimerResolution, leading to an arbitrary kernel memory access. Exploiting this flaw results in a system crash.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xhci: dbgtty: Fix unregister on tty_register_driver() failure If tty_register_driver() fails, it drops the reference, but fails to set the global dbc_tty_driver to NULL, causing the unregister to be called again when module exits. On module unload dbc_tty_exit() only gates its cleanup on the driver pointer being non-NULL, so it operates on the already-freed driver: module_init(xhci_hcd_init) xhci_hcd_init() xhci_dbc_init() [return value ignored] dbc_tty_init() tty_register_driver() fails tty_driver_kref_put() -> driver freed (dbc_tty_driver left dangling) ... module_exit(xhci_hcd_fini) xhci_hcd_fini() xhci_dbc_exit() dbc_tty_exit() if (dbc_tty_driver) -> true (dangling) tty_unregister_driver() -> use-after-free
