In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acpi: nfit: vmalloc-out-of-bounds Read in acpi_nfit_ctl Fix an issue detected by syzbot with KASAN: BUG: KASAN: vmalloc-out-of-bounds in cmd_to_func drivers/acpi/nfit/ core.c:416 [inline] BUG: KASAN: vmalloc-out-of-bounds in acpi_nfit_ctl+0x20e8/0x24a0 drivers/acpi/nfit/core.c:459 The issue occurs in cmd_to_func when the call_pkg->nd_reserved2 array is accessed without verifying that call_pkg points to a buffer that is appropriately sized as a struct nd_cmd_pkg. This can lead to out-of-bounds access and undefined behavior if the buffer does not have sufficient space. To address this, a check was added in acpi_nfit_ctl() to ensure that buf is not NULL and that buf_len is less than sizeof(*call_pkg) before accessing it. This ensures safe access to the members of call_pkg, including the nd_reserved2 array.

Jirafeau normally prevents browser preview for SVG files due to the possibility that manipulated SVG files could be exploited for cross site scripting. This was done by storing the MIME type of a file and preventing the browser preview for MIME type image/svg+xml. This issue was first reported in CVE-2022-30110. However, it was still possible to do a browser preview of a SVG file by sending a manipulated MIME type during the upload, where the case of any letter in image/svg+xml had been changed (like image/svg+XML). The check for image/svg+xml has been changed to be case insensitive.

Dec 2, 2024Nanopb is a small code-size Protocol Buffers implementation.CVE-2024-53984 · Other software · nanopb · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
Nanopb is a small code-size Protocol Buffers implementation. When the compile time option PB_ENABLE_MALLOC is enabled, the message contains at least one field with FT_POINTER field type, custom stream callback is used with unknown stream length. and the pb_decode_ex() function is used with flag PB_DECODE_DELIMITED, then the pb_decode_ex() function does not automatically call pb_release(), like is done for other failure cases. This could lead to memory leak and potential denial-of-service. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.9.1.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slub/kunit: fix a WARNING due to unwrapped __kmalloc_cache_noprof 'modprobe slub_kunit' will have a warning as shown below. The root cause is that __kmalloc_cache_noprof was directly used, which resulted in no alloc_tag being allocated. This caused current->alloc_tag to be null, leading to a warning in alloc_tag_add_check. Let's add an alloc_hook layer to __kmalloc_cache_noprof specifically within lib/slub_kunit.c, which is the only user of this internal slub function outside kmalloc implementation itself. Nov 18, 2024A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business RV042 Dual WAN VPN Routers and Cisco Small Business RV042G Dual Gigabit CVE-2020-3431 · Network & remote access · Cisco · reported by psirt@cisco.comMedium 6.1
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business RV042 Dual WAN VPN Routers and Cisco Small Business RV042G Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Routers could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web-based management interface of an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the web-based management interface of the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user of the interface to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive browser-based information.Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.
