The MongoDB Rust Driver does not neutralize special characters in a caller-supplied target identifier before embedding it in the request it sends to the server. An actor able to influence that identifier in an application using the driver may cause write operations to be applied to an unintended target within the same deployment using the application's own credentials. This may result in unauthorized modification of data belonging to another logical boundary enforced by the application.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/zcrypt: Improve EP11 CPRB domain handling with ASN.1 parsing The zcrypt_msgtype6_send_ep11_cprb() function uses fragile struct overlays to access and modify the domain field in the EP11 CPRB payload, creating maintainability and security concerns: 1. Struct overlay approach (pld_hdr) assumes fixed payload structure and doesn't validate the actual ASN.1 encoding. 2. Complex length format detection logic is error-prone and doesn't properly validate bounds at each parsing step. 3. Direct struct member access bypasses proper ASN.1 validation. Fix by replacing struct overlays with explicit ASN.1 parsing that validates each field (payload tag/length, function tag/length/value, optional domain tag/length/value) with proper bounds checking at every step. Add asn1_int_encode() helper function to safely write integer values with correct endianness conversion. This makes the code consistent with the validation pattern introduced with the rework of the xcrb_msg_to_type6_ep11cprb_msgx() function.

Issue summary: When OpenSSL processes QUIC traffic from a peer that repeatedly sends ack-eliciting packets while not acknowledging ACK-only responses, the QUIC stack can retain ACK-only packet metadata for the lifetime of the connection. Impact summary: A remote peer that can complete a QUIC handshake can cause connection-scoped memory growth which may lead to Denial of Service through memory exhaustion, especially with sustained traffic or many concurrent QUIC connections. CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: When the OpenSSL QUIC stack sends an ACK-only packet, there is no requirement by the QUIC protocol that the peer will acknowledge that ACK-only packet (i.e. it is itself not ack-eliciting). However, the OpenSSL implementation stores the metadata about the ACK frames regardless. In and of itself that's ok, but if a malicious peer establishes a connection, and then drives the connection such that ACK-only packets are forced from the OpenSSL implementation peer (i.e., by sending numerous PING frames), and then withholding any subsequent acks for ack-eliciting data, like legitimate data, said malicious peer can force inappropriate me

Issue summary: OpenSSL CMP response validation passed an unexpected response sender distinguished name directly as the format string to `ERR_raise_data()`. Impact summary: A malicious or intercepted CMP endpoint can crash a CMP client that enforces an expected sender or uses a pinned server certificate whose subject becomes the default expected sender. CWE: CWE-134 (Use of Externally-Controlled Format String) Description: When validating a received CMP message, ossl_cmp_msg_check_update() converts the peer-supplied sender distinguished name with X509_NAME_oneline() and passes it directly as the format argument to ERR_raise_data(). Percent characters survive the conversion, so a sender DN such as "CN=%s%n" reaches BIO_vsnprintf() as an attacker-controlled format string with no matching variadic arguments. This path is only reached when the caller configures an expected sender or pins a server certificate, which is the normal configuration for a CMP client validating server responses. Since the attacker controls the format string but none of the variadic arguments, such specifiers as %s and %n dereference or write through unrelated stack contents and crash the client. The reliabl

The extension passes the raw value of a form field configured as "This field contains the name of the sender" directly into a Fluid View as template source, without any sanitization, and renders it. An anonymous, unauthenticated user can submit Fluid template syntax in that field to execute arbitrary Fluid ViewHelpers leading to disclosure of server configuration, environment variables and application source, and potentially remote code execution. Exploitation requires only that a form field is configured as the sender_name field, a common and default-adjacent Powermail configuration. • Aug 24, 2026Rocket.Chat exposes the sendForgotPasswordEmail Meteor method without a DDP rate limit, so an unauthenticated caller may invoke it as often as it likes.CVE-2026-75575 · Other software · RocketChat · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

Rocket.Chat exposes the sendForgotPasswordEmail Meteor method without a DDP rate limit, so an unauthenticated caller may invoke it as often as it likes. The method is reachable over DDP and over the HTTP route POST /api/v1/method.callAnon/sendForgotPasswordEmail, and it triggers a password reset message for any address that matches an account. With no DDPRateLimiter rule registered for it, a caller can drive an unbounded volume of reset mail at a chosen address from the deployment's own mail sender, and can probe addresses at scale: the method answers true for an address with no account and for a successful send, but false when the address belongs to an account that authenticates through an external provider and Accounts_AllowPasswordChangeForOAuthUsers is off, so repeated calls distinguish that class of account. Later versions register a rule permitting ten calls per minute per client address.

  • Aug 24, 2026The userspace syscall verifier z_vrfy_mbox_send() in drivers/mbox/mbox_handlers.c validated the nested msg->data/msg->size fields by reading them directly out oCVE-2026-9728 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.4

The userspace syscall verifier z_vrfy_mbox_send() in drivers/mbox/mbox_handlers.c validated the nested msg->data/msg->size fields by reading them directly out of live userspace memory, and then forwarded the original, still-mutable userspace struct mbox_msg * pointer to z_impl_mbox_send() and the underlying driver. Between the access check and the driver's use of msg->data, the validated pointer could be replaced, leaving a time-of-check/time-of-use window. On a system built with CONFIG_USERSPACE, any unprivileged userspace thread may invoke the mbox_send() system call. A second thread sharing the caller's address space can race to overwrite msg->data with a supervisor (kernel) address after the verifier's bounds check has passed but before the driver dereferences it. The driver then reads from the attacker-chosen address in supervisor context (for example memcpy(&data32, msg->data, msg->size) in the NXP mailbox driver, whose bytes are subsequently emitted to the peer mailbox endpoint). The impact is a userspace-to-supervisor access-control bypass: disclosure of kernel memory contents (high confidentiality impact), or, for an invalid/unmapped target address, a faulting kernel rea

The Infineon Airoc Wi-Fi driver's transmit callback airoc_mgmt_send() in drivers/wifi/infineon/airoc_wifi.c allocates a net_buf from the fixed airoc_pool for every outbound packet. When whd_network_send_ethernet_data() returns a synchronous failure, the underlying WHD library does not take ownership of the buffer, but the pre-fix driver returned -EIO without releasing it. Each failed transmit therefore permanently leaks one buffer from the pool. airoc_pool is small and fixed (AIROC_WIFI_TX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT + AIROC_WIFI_RX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT, default 20 buffers) and is shared by WHD's whd_host_buffer_get callback for both transmit and receive. Once enough send failures have leaked the pool dry, airoc_wifi_host_buffer_get() returns WHD_BUFFER_ALLOC_FAIL for all subsequent allocations, so both transmit and the WHD-driven receive path fail and Wi-Fi connectivity is lost until the device is rebooted. The leak occurs only on the transmit error path. A Wi-Fi-adjacent attacker can influence the conditions that cause synchronous send failures (for example by deauthenticating/disassociating the station while the local stack continues to attempt transmits), and ordinary transient failures o

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ncsi: fix heap OOB read in NCSI_CMD_SEND_CMD payload length ncsi_send_cmd_nl() takes the number of bytes to copy from the attacker-controlled ncsi_pkt_hdr.length field of the in-band packet header, while the source buffer is the NCSI_ATTR_DATA netlink attribute whose readable size is nla_len() - sizeof(ncsi_pkt_hdr). The two length sources are never cross-checked: only nla_len() >= sizeof(struct ncsi_pkt_hdr) is enforced. With hdr->length set larger than the attribute payload (up to 65535 against at most 2032 readable bytes), ncsi_cmd_handler_oem() copies past the end of the netlink attribute buffer with unsafe_memcpy(), leaking up to ~64KB of kernel heap memory into the transmitted NCSI command packet. The destination skb is sized by the declared payload, so the write side does not overflow - this is a pure OOB read / information leak, reachable with CAP_NET_ADMIN on systems with a registered NCSI device (e.g. OpenBMC on Aspeed BMC SoCs, where NET_NCSI=y is standard). Reject commands whose declared payload extends past the end of the data attribute. The issue was found by the autokbug dynamic kernel fuzze

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: don't leave a full plaintext sk_msg ring unpushed When the copy path in tls_sw_sendmsg_locked() adds the fragment that fills the plaintext sk_msg ring, it does not set full_record, so the record is left full and unpushed. A later splice() then adds to an already full ring: sk_msg_page_add() has no fullness check of its own, so sg.end wraps onto sg.start and the ring appears empty. Fragments added after that overwrite live entries, and sg.size no longer matches what is reachable between sg.start and sg.end, so pushing the record runs the scatterwalk off the end of the scatterlist. Moving skb->data back by reserve then places it before skb->head, and the following copy from userspace can attempt an out-of-bounds write. packet_sendmsg_spkt() has the same issue because it calculates its reservation and header offset from separate reads before dropping the RCU read lock to allocate the skb. Add LL_RESERVED_SPACE_EX() for callers that already saved a header length. Read hard_header_len once in packet_snd() and use it for allocation and construction. In packet_sendmsg_spkt(), preserve the allocation-time value through the device lookup retry. The separate SOCK_DGRAM consistency problem between hard_header_len and header_ops->create is not addressed here.

Lightdash stores the webhook URL supplied with a scheduled delivery and later posts to it from sendWebhook in packages/backend/src/clients/GoogleChat/GoogleChatClient.ts and in packages/backend/src/clients/MicrosoftTeams/MicrosoftTeamsClient.ts. In affected versions both call fetch on the stored URL directly. The validatePublicHttpUrl helper in packages/backend/src/utils/ssrfProtection.ts, used for MCP server URLs, is not applied on either path, and the webhook fields carry no server-side URL constraint. A user able to create or trigger a scheduled delivery can therefore direct the server to issue POST requests to private, loopback and link-local addresses, including cloud metadata endpoints, and can distinguish reachable internal services from unreachable ones through the resulting errors. The upstream response is never returned to the requester; on a failure status its body is written to the server log instead. Version 1.146.4 routes both clients through postSchedulerWebhook from packages/backend/src/utils/schedulerWebhookValidation rather than calling fetch directly.

Net::OAuth versions before 0.33 for Perl allow the sender to choose the signature algorithm in verify. verify resolves the signature method class from the signature_method parameter of the incoming message. signature_method is required on every request, so the algorithm used to check a signature is chosen by whoever sent it, and nothing lets the verifying party pin the method instead. When a message names HMAC-SHA1 or HMAC-SHA256, the key is derived from consumer_secret and token_secret rather than from the key the provider deployed. A provider deployed on RSA-SHA1 holds only the consumer public key, and RFC 5849 does not use consumer_secret for that method, so the required parameter is filled with a placeholder. A client that names HMAC-SHA1 instead has its signature checked against that placeholder, so a guessable one is enough to forge requests for any consumer key and token.

On a Kong Mesh global control plane, resources received over the zone-to-global KDS sync are attributed using the in-band, sender-controlled ControlPlane.Identifier rather than the authenticated zone identity derived from the connection. Authenticated zones can have the global control plane store and re-distribute those resources as belonging to another zone. The result is a cross-zone isolation bypass: the holder of a single enrolled zone's credential can inject, attribute, and overwrite resources in another zone's namespace mesh-wide. The root cause lives in Kuma's open-source KDS sync code, which Kong Mesh's control plane is built on.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (nzxt-smart2) DMA-align output buffer Sashiko reports: When send_output_report() calls hid_hw_output_report(), the underlying USB HID core calls usb_interrupt_msg() which maps this buffer directly for DMA. When the DMA mapping flushes or invalidates the cacheline, it will corrupt the adjacent variables (mutex, update_interval) that were modified concurrently by the CPU. This causes memory corruption due to cacheline sharing on non-coherent CPU architectures (such as ARM or MIPS). The DMA API debugging tool (CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG) will trigger runtime warnings for this violation. Any operation that triggers send_output_report() (like setting a fan speed or updating the interval) causes the USB DMA mapping. On systems with non-coherent caches, this structural bug causes immediate and deterministic memory corruption. Align the output buffer to ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN to fix the problem.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: do not send ICMP/NDISC Redirects when peer allocation fails When inet_getpeer_v4() or inet_getpeer_v6() fails to allocate a peer entry under memory pressure or tree size caps, redirect handlers previously fell back to sending un-rate-limited ICMP/NDISC Redirect messages. In IPv4, ip_rt_send_redirect() called icmp_send() directly when peer == NULL. In IPv6, ip6_forward() and ndisc_send_redirect() passed a NULL peer into inet_peer_xrlim_allow(), which returned true when peer == NULL. Because ICMP/NDISC Redirects are not part of the default global rate limit mask (sysctl_icmp_ratemask), sending redirects when peer == NULL creates an un-rate-limited ICMP packet storm. Fix this by failing closed in ip_rt_send_redirect(), ip6_forward(), and ndisc_send_redirect() when peer is NULL.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Fix UAF when sending a message In afs_make_call(), there's a race with async call reception and destruction. If a call is dispatched that doesn't have call->write_iter set (used to specify the data content for FS.StoreData), then the first rxrpc_kernel_send_data() will not set MSG_MORE in the msghdr. Once rxrpc_send_data() queues the last request packet, the response could come in at any time and cause the call to be completed and put. However, afs_make_call() will look at the call again to see it ->write_iter should be handled - something it's only allowed to do if it has its own ref on the call. Whilst this is the case for synchronous calls, it isn't true for async calls such as FS.FetchData. There's also a potential UAF in afs_make_call() in the event that an asynchronous call is being sent, but the call fails in some way (e.g. it gets aborted from the server). The problem there is that afs_make_call() tries to abort a call if the rxrpc send fails, but the asynchronous notification from rxrpc may have caused the afs_call to be torn down. generic/650 plays games with randomly taking CPUs offline, an

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reject repeated SMB2 NEGOTIATE requests Unauthenticated client can send multiple successful SMB2 NEGOTIATE requests on one connection before SESSION_SETUP. While the connection is in KSMBD_SESS_NEED_SETUP, smb2_handle_negotiate() accepts another SMB3.1.1 NEGOTIATE and overwrites conn->preauth_info with a new allocation. Only the final allocation is freed when the connection is released, leaking one object for every additional successful request. A repeated SMB2 NEGOTIATE after a dialect has been selected is a protocol violation. MS-SMB2 section 3.3.5.4 requires the server to disconnect without replying in this case. Set the connection exiting when rejecting the request, in addition to suppressing the response. Reject SMB2 NEGOTIATE unless the connection is new or is waiting for the SMB2 NEGOTIATE that follows an SMB1 multi-protocol negotiate. Serialize both SMB1 and SMB2 negotiation paths under conn->srv_mutex, since they update connection-wide dialect and negotiation state. Move the locking contract to ksmbd_smb_negotiate_common(), where the state and dialect are selected, and add ksmbd_conn_new() for

This ordering is required by dlm_receive_ack as "before(mh->seq, seq)" will stop to check for older sequence numbers that are ordered in the tail of "node->send_queue". The side effects of not having it correct ordered regarding "before(mh->seq, seq)" are refcounting issues and use-after free. I only was able to reproduce this issue in a experimental DLM branch and a user space DLM benchmark that uses io_uring. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: fix UAF in tipc_l2_send_msg() Syzbot reported a slab-use-after-free in ipvlan_hard_header() when called from tipc_l2_send_msg(). The root cause is that tipc_disable_l2_media() calls synchronize_net() while b->media_ptr is still valid. This allows concurrent RCU readers to obtain the device pointer after synchronize_net() has finished. The pointer is cleared later in bearer_disable(), but without any subsequent synchronization, allowing the device to be freed while still in use by readers. Fix this by clearing b->media_ptr in tipc_disable_l2_media() before calling synchronize_net(). This is safe to do now because the call order in bearer_disable() was reversed in 0d051bf93c06 ("tipc: make bearer packet filtering generic") to call tipc_node_delete_links() (which needs the pointer) before disable_media(). https: //lore.kernel.org/netdev/6a2c1007.428ffe26.258b27.015d.GAE@google.com/T/#u
