Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature and Improper Certificate Validation in the OPC UA driver of Apache PLC4X (PLC4J) allows an attacker in a network position between client and server to impersonate the OPC UA server and to read, forge or modify secure-channel traffic, including user credential ssent by the client. The defect manifests differently depending on the version: - In 0.9.0 through 0.11.0 a failed message-signature check is only logged and never enforced, and there is no mechanism to verify the server certificate: it is taken from the unauthenticated GetEndpoints discovery response and used to encrypt the user's password. - In 0.12.0 through 0.13.1 the signature check is inverted (valid signatures are rejected, invalid ones accepted), and server certificates are accepted without a trust anchor by default. - In all affected versions the default security policy is None. Starting with 0.12.0 the driver additionally continues silently at a weaker security policy than the one configured, and starting with 0.13.0 endpoint selection prefers the weakest matching endpoint. Users checking only for one of these mechanisms may wrongly conclude they are unaffected. Thi

Mounting an attacker-controlled NAND flash image (`lx_nand_flash_open()`) triggers an unbounded out-of-bounds heap **write** in LevelX's NAND flash-translation-layer metadata parser that overwrites a driver function pointer in the control block, giving a demonstrated control-flow hijack — RIP set to a full 8-byte attacker-chosen value (register-verified). Two accompanying OOB reads. All reproduced verbatim under ASan at HEAD `9f1cfdc`. (The affected metadata-parser header states "Some portions generated by Copilot (Sonnet 4.6)" — an AI-generated parser with an unchecked on-flash count.)

  • Sep 28, 2026The ADC API requires each driver to reject a sampling sequence whose destination buffer is too small: the buffer_size field of struct adc_sequence in include/zeCVE-2026-18414 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 7.8

The ADC API requires each driver to reject a sampling sequence whose destination buffer is too small: the buffer_size field of struct adc_sequence in include/zephyr/drivers/adc.h documents that "the driver must ensure that samples are not written beyond the limit and it must return an error if the buffer turns out to be not large enough". The ADI MAX32 driver did not honour that contract. start_read() in drivers/adc/adc_max32.c compared buffer_size, a byte count, against a sample count ((1 + extra_samplings) channels), ignoring sizeof(uint16_t), so it accepted a buffer half the required size. The samples are then stored through the uint16_t data->buffer by Wrap_MXC_ADC_GetData(), which writes two bytes per sample and advances the pointer by one uint16_t: in adc_max32_start_channel() for synchronous reads, and in adc_max32_isr() for asynchronous ones. A sequence selecting two channels with a two-byte buffer, for example, passes the check and has its second sample written past the end of the buffer. On a build with CONFIG_USERSPACE, adc_read() and adc_read_async() are system calls. The handler in drivers/adc/adc_handlers.c copies the sequence in from user memory, verifies only tha

  • Sep 28, 2026The ADC API requires each driver to reject a sampling sequence whose destination buffer is too small: the buffer_size field of struct adc_sequence in include/zeCVE-2026-18413 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 7.8

The NXP MCUX LPADC driver did not honour that contract. mcux_lpadc_start_read() in drivers/adc/adc_mcux_lpadc.c performed no buffer-size check at all before assigning data->buffer = sequence->buffer. Each completed conversion then stores one 16-bit sample per enabled channel per sampling round through an unbounded *data->buffer++: in mcux_lpadc_isr() for interrupt-driven builds, and in mcux_lpadc_dma_callback() for DMA-driven builds on releases that have the DMA path. A sequence selecting two channels with a two-byte buffer, for example, has its second sample written past the end of the buffer. On a build with CONFIG_USERSPACE, adc_read() and adc_read_async() are system calls. The handler in drivers/adc/adc_handlers.c copies the sequence in from user memory, verifies only that [buffer, buffer + buffer_size) is writable by the calling thread, and

Path traversal in the btrfs storage driver in Canonical LXD versions 4.0.2 and later (fixed in 4.0.14, 5.0.10, 5.21.8 and 6.10) on Linux allows an authenticated client with permission to create instances in a project to delete arbitrary files on the host as root. On hosts whose root filesystem is btrfs, the client can also place attacker-controlled content at arbitrary host paths, leading to full host compromise. The client does this with a crafted subvolume path containing ../ sequences, sent in either of two ways: in the optimized_header.yaml of an optimized btrfs backup, or in the btrfs migration header sent by a malicious migration source.

  • Sep 26, 2026Adminer 6.0.0 through 6.0.1, when the official ClickHouse driver plugin (plugins/drivers/clickhouse.php, rewritten in 6.0.0) is loaded, is vulnerable to pre-autCVE-2026-100697 · Other software · vrana · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.3

Adminer 6.0.0 through 6.0.1, when the official ClickHouse driver plugin (plugins/drivers/clickhouse.php, rewritten in 6.0.0) is loaded, is vulnerable to pre-authentication server-side request forgery. An unauthenticated attacker can submit auth[driver]=clickhouse with auth[server] set to an arbitrary URL (for example http://127.0.0.1:18089), causing the Adminer server to issue an HTTP POST containing 'SELECT version()' to that host. In rootQuery(), if the target returns a status outside 200-299 (other than 401/403), the raw HTTP response body is assigned to the connection error and rendered on the login page, so the attacker receives the full response body of the internal service. This enables internal network/port reconnaissance and disclosure of sensitive information contained in internal error pages (stack traces, internal hostnames, file paths, configuration identifiers). Fixed in Adminer 6.0.2.

Adminer 4.16.0 through 6.0.1 contain a pre-authentication Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the optional Elasticsearch driver (plugins/drivers/elastic.php), fixed in 6.0.2. Because adminer/include/auth.inc.php invokes Driver::connect() before the login result is validated, an unauthenticated attacker who submits crafted auth[server], auth[username], and auth[password] parameters can cause the Adminer server to issue an HTTP GET request (via get_url()/file_get_contents()) to an arbitrary reachable host and port. The driver validates only general server syntax and does not block loopback, private, link-local, or other reserved addresses; if no port is given it appends the default 9200, and Adminer's generic port check rejects ports below 1024. Selected JSON error fields from non-2xx Elasticsearch-style responses, as well as connection failures, are rendered on the login page, providing a port-scanning oracle and enabling internal network reconnaissance and service fingerprinting. Exploitation requires that the optional Elasticsearch driver be explicitly deployed (e.g., via the adminer/elastic.php template or an adminer_object() configuration; it is not loaded in a d

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/cirrus-qemu: Validate BAR0 size during probe The `cirrus-qemu` driver relies on `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE` (4 MB) to validate framebuffer sizes. However, during PCI probe, the driver mapped BAR0 without verifying that its size matches `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE`. If a PCI device with a BAR0 smaller than 4 MB is bound to the driver, the mapped VRAM will be smaller than expected. Because validation checks assume 4 MB VRAM, framebuffers larger than the mapped memory can be created. When the display plane is updated (e.g. during release), `cirrus_primary_plane_helper_atomic_update()` copies the framebuffer to VRAM using `drm_fb_memcpy()`. Writing past the end of the mapped I/O memory causes a supervisor write page fault: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffc9000389c000 ...
