  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: hp-bioscfg: fix password encoding bounds check The password PSWD_ENCODINGS pCVE-2026-90137 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.7

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: hp-bioscfg: fix password encoding bounds check The password PSWD_ENCODINGS parser reads password_obj[elem + pos_values] while copying the supported password encodings from the ACPI package. The outer loop only guarantees that elem is within password_obj_count. The encoding count is bounded by MAX_ENCODINGS_SIZE, but that does not guarantee that the ACPI package contains enough entries for all elem + pos_values accesses. A malformed package can therefore declare a non-zero encoding count without providing enough string objects, causing the parser to read past the ACPI package array and pass an out-of-bounds string pointer and length to hp_convert_hexstr_to_str(). Add the same computed-index bounds check used by the other offset-based package parsing loops before reading password_obj[elem + pos_values].

  • Sep 17, 2026Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File vulnerability in team-alembic AshAuthentication allows disclosure of user password digests to readers of the auCVE-2026-82723 · Other software · team-alembic · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 1.8

Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File vulnerability in team-alembic AshAuthentication allows disclosure of user password digests to readers of the audit store. The audit_log add-on builds each entry's extra_data in AshAuthentication.AddOn.AuditLog.Auditor.build_extra_data/4, which takes :actor from the action callback context verbatim. Any audited action invoked with actor: set to a user record therefore deposits that record, including its hashed_password attribute, into the audit entry. The same module already collapses the audited identity to an opaque string via AshAuthentication.user_to_subject/1 and filters params against the strategy's configured allow-list, so the actor is the only stored value that reaches the audit store unfiltered. Marking the attribute sensitive?: true does not help, because that redacts inspect/1 output rather than JSON encoding or raw-term storage. There is no attacker-controlled trigger and no network disclosure path: entries accumulate from ordinary authenticated activity, and an attacker's own requests deposit only their own digest. Exploitation requires independent read access to the audit store, such as database credentials, an audit

  • Sep 16, 2026Apache Airflow FAB provider: changing a user's password through the Admin user-edit PATCH endpoint does not invalidate that user's existing database-backed sessCVE-2026-86462 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.1

Apache Airflow FAB provider: changing a user's password through the Admin user-edit PATCH endpoint does not invalidate that user's existing database-backed sessions. An attacker who already holds a copy of the victim's session cookie keeps full access as that user after the password change, so the password reset does not evict them. Affects deployments using the FAB auth manager with database-backed sessions; an administrator (or the user themselves) performing a routine password change is the trigger, and no attacker interaction with the endpoint is needed. This is a second, independent route to the outcome addressed by CVE-2026-82311, which corrected an identifier comparison in the session-invalidation helper. That fix does not repair this endpoint, because the PATCH path never calls the helper at all. Deployments that applied the CVE-2026-82311 fix must also upgrade for this one. Users of apache-airflow-providers-fab are recommended to upgrade to version 3.9.0 or later, which fixes the issue.

Apache Airflow FAB provider: resetting a user's password does not delete that user's existing database-backed sessions, despite documented behaviour that it does. The cleanup compares the string identifier Flask-Login stores in the session against the user's integer database identifier, so the comparison never matches and no session is removed. An attacker who already holds a copy of the victim's session cookie keeps access as that user after the password change, so the reset does not evict them. Affects deployments using the FAB auth manager with `[fab] session_backend=database`. The trigger is an administrator (or the user) running the supported password-reset command as a containment action after a session cookie has been compromised; the secure-cookie backend is out of scope, as it documents that it cannot centrally delete sessions. apache-airflow-providers-fab 3.9.0 also fixes CVE-2026-86462, a second, independent route to the same outcome via the Admin user-edit endpoint; a single upgrade closes both. Users of apache-airflow-providers-fab are recommended to upgrade to version 3.9.0 or later, which compares the identifiers consistently.

  • Sep 14, 2026Laravel MagicLink creates links for authentication without a password or for accessing private content.CVE-2026-61701 · Other software · cesargb · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

Laravel MagicLink creates links for authentication without a password or for accessing private content. From 2.0.0 until 2.25.1, MagicLink stores serialized action objects in the magic_links.action database column and deserializes them through src/MagicLink.php and src/Actions/ResponseAction.php without sufficient integrity protection, while an unsafe legacy unserialize() fallback remains reachable. An attacker who can manipulate database records, such as through a separate SQL injection or compromised administrative access, can insert a malicious serialized object graph containing executable closure behavior; visiting the associated magic link then deserializes the record and can execute arbitrary code in the application process. The affected path is restricted to manipulated action records and does not independently provide database-write access. This issue is fixed in version 2.25.1.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: hp-bioscfg: fix heap OOB read on empty password write validate_password_input() computes length = strlen(buf) and then checks buf[length - 1] to strip a trailing newline, without checking that length is nonzero first. Writing an empty string (a bare '\n') to current_password or new_password gives length == 0, and buf[length - 1] reads buf[-1], one byte before the heap allocation holding the copied input. KASAN confirms this directly: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in store_password_instance.constprop.0+0x223/0x2a0 [hp_bioscfg] Read of size 1 at addr ffff88811bd8da9f by task sh/13740 ... store_password_instance.constprop.0+0x223/0x2a0 [hp_bioscfg] current_password_store+0x14/0x20 [hp_bioscfg] ... Execution continues past the bad read (the garbage byte only affects whether "length" is decremented by one), so the write completes and returns success; this is a pure information read past the buffer, not a crash, but it is stil

WWBN AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 contains a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in plugin/Live/confirmLivePassword.php. The script interpolates the unauthenticated GET parameter u (which is not covered by $securityFilter) directly into an <img src="..."> attribute without URL- or HTML-encoding. A remote attacker can craft a link containing a double-quote character in u (with a non-empty key parameter and no valid c parameter) to close the src attribute and inject an additional tag with an onerror handler, executing arbitrary JavaScript in the site's origin in the browser of any user, including an administrator, who opens the link. • Sep 10, 2026Concrete CMS below 9.5.3 stores user validation hashes for multiple purposes (email/registration validation, password reset, and persistent login) in a single tCVE-2026-81905 · Other software · Concrete CMS · reported by ff5b8ace-8b95-4078-9743-eac1ca5451deMedium 6.3

Concrete CMS below 9.5.3 stores user validation hashes for multiple purposes (email/registration validation, password reset, and persistent login) in a single table with a type column, but the redemption path resolves a hash by value alone and does not verify its type. As a result, a hash issued for one purpose can be redeemed for another: a long-lived registration hash (60-day expiry) can be submitted to the password-change endpoint to set a new password on the target account, and a password-reset hash can be submitted to the email-validation endpoint to activate an account. Exploitation requires the attacker to first obtain a valid hash through a separate channel (for example email interception, log exposure, or SSRF against an internal mail relay), so the flaw amplifies the impact of any hash disclosure rather than creating a standalone entry point. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS v4.0 score of 6.3 with vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. AVideo through revision c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 (master, 2026-08-23) does not enforce the Live stream password check on the stats endpoint or on the HLS origin. Live::_getStats() (plugin/Live/Live.php) returns a password-protected transmission's RTMP stream key, its isPasswordProtected flag, and its HLS (m3u8) URL to unauthenticated callers, in both the public applications list and the hidden_applications branch used when canSeeLiveFromLiveKey() fails. Separately, the shipped NGINX configuration (deploy/nginx/nginx.conf) serves the .m3u8 playlist, the AES-128 key, and the transport-stream segments from the /live location without any auth_request (the auth_key_check directive in the .key location is commented out). A remote, unauthenticated attacker can therefore retrieve the stream key and decryption key and watch a password-protected live transmission without supplying the configured password. No patched version was available at the time of the advisory.
