  • Apr 26, 2026Highland Software Custom Role Manager: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-7106 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Highland Software Custom Role Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to and including 1.0.0. This is due to insufficient authorization checks in the hscrm_save_user_roles() function, which is hooked to the personal_options_update action accessible by any authenticated user. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access or higher, to potentially modify user roles via the profile update form.

    Product
    Highland Software Custom Role Manager
    Affected
    up to 1.0.0
    What to do
Affects up to 1.0.0. Update Highland Software Custom Role Manager to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Apr 16, 2026AcyMailing: Privilege escalationCVE-2026-3614 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The AcyMailing plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions From 9.11.0 up to, and including, 10.8.1 due to a missing capability check on the `wp_ajax_acymailing_router` AJAX handler. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to access admin-only controllers (including configuration management), enable the autologin feature, create a malicious newsletter subscriber with an injected `cms_id` pointing to any WordPress user, and then use the autologin URL to authenticate as that user, including administrators.

    Product
    AcyMailing
    Affected
    up to 10.8.1
    What to do
Affects up to 10.8.1. Update AcyMailing to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Apr 16, 2026Riaxe Product Customizer: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-3596 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Riaxe Product Customizer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.2. The plugin registers an unauthenticated AJAX action ('wp_ajax_nopriv_install-imprint') that maps to the ink_pd_add_option() function. This function reads 'option' and 'opt_value' from $_POST, then calls delete_option() followed by add_option() using these attacker-controlled values without any nonce verification, capability checks, or option name allowlist. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update arbitrary WordPress options, which can be leveraged for privilege escalation by enabling user registration and setting the default user role to administrator.

    Product
    Riaxe Product Customizer
    Affected
    up to 2.1.2
    What to do
Affects up to 2.1.2. Update Riaxe Product Customizer to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Apr 15, 2026Barcode Scanner (+Mobile App) – Inventory manager, Order fulfillment system, POS (Point of Sale): Privilege escalationCVE-2026-4880 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Barcode Scanner (+Mobile App) – Inventory manager, Order fulfillment system, POS (Point of Sale) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation via insecure token-based authentication in all versions up to, and including, 1.11.0. This is due to the plugin trusting a user-supplied Base64-encoded user ID in the token parameter to identify users, leaking valid authentication tokens through the 'barcodeScannerConfigs' action, and lacking meta-key restrictions on the 'setUserMeta' action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to escalate their privileges to that of an administrator by first spoofing the admin user ID to leak their authentication token, then using that token to update any user's 'wp_capabilities' meta to gain full administrative access.

    Product
Barcode Scanner (+Mobile App) – Inventory manager, Order fulfillment system, POS (Point of Sale)
    Affected
    up to 1.11.0
    What to do

  • Apr 15, 2026Login as User: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-5617 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Login as User plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.3. This is due to the handle_return_to_admin() function trusting a client-controlled cookie (oclaup_original_admin) to determine which user to authenticate as, without any server-side verification that the cookie value was legitimately set during an admin-initiated user switch. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to escalate their privileges to administrator by setting the oclaup_original_admin cookie to an administrator's user ID and triggering the "Return to Admin" functionality.

    Product
    Login as User
    Affected
    up to 1.0.3
    What to do
Affects up to 1.0.3. Update Login as User to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Apr 10, 2026BuddyPress Groupblog: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-5144 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The BuddyPress Groupblog plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.9.3. This is due to the group blog settings handler accepting the `groupblog-blogid`, `default-member`, and `groupblog-silent-add` parameters from user input without proper authorization checks. The `groupblog-blogid` parameter allows any group admin (including Subscribers who create their own group) to associate their group with any blog on the Multisite network, including the main site (blog ID 1). The `default-member` parameter accepts any WordPress role, including `administrator`, without validation against a whitelist. When combined with `groupblog-silent-add`, any user who joins the attacker's group is automatically added to the targeted blog with the injected role. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to escalate any user (including themselves via a second account) to Administrator on the main site of the Multisite network.

    Product
    BuddyPress Groupblog
    Affected
    up to 1.9.3
    What to do
Affects up to 1.9.3. Update BuddyPress Groupblog to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Apr 8, 2026Users manager – PN: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-4003 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Users manager – PN plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation via Arbitrary User Meta Update in all versions up to and including 1.1.15. This is due to a flawed authorization logic check in the userspn_ajax_nopriv_server() function within the 'userspn_form_save' case. The conditional only blocks unauthenticated users when the user_id is empty, but when a non-empty user_id is supplied, execution bypasses this check entirely and proceeds to update arbitrary user meta via update_user_meta() without any authentication or authorization verification. Additionally, the nonce required for this AJAX endpoint ('userspn-nonce') is exposed to all visitors via wp_localize_script on the public wp_enqueue_scripts hook, rendering the nonce check ineffective as a security control. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update arbitrary user metadata for any user account, including the userspn_secret_token field.

    Product
    Users manager – PN
    Affected
    up to 1.1.15
    What to do
Affects up to 1.1.15. Update Users manager – PN to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Mar 30, 2026The Debugger & Troubleshooter plugin for WordPress was vulnerable to Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation in versions up to and including 1.3.2.CVE-2026-5130 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Debugger & Troubleshooter plugin for WordPress was vulnerable to Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation in versions up to and including 1.3.2. This was due to the plugin accepting the wp_debug_troubleshoot_simulate_user cookie value directly as a user ID without any cryptographic validation or authorization checks. The cookie value was used to override the determine_current_user filter, which allowed unauthenticated attackers to impersonate any user by simply setting the cookie to their target user ID. This made it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain administrator-level access and perform any privileged actions including creating new administrator accounts, modifying site content, installing plugins, or taking complete control of the WordPress site. The vulnerability was fixed in version 1.4.0 by implementing a cryptographic token-based validation system where only administrators can initiate user simulation, and the cookie contains a random 64-character token that must be validated against database-stored mappings rather than accepting arbitrary user IDs.

    Affected
    up to 1.3.2
    Fixed in
    1.4.0
    What to do
Update the plugin to 1.4.0 or newer.
  • Mar 25, 2026Masteriyo LMS: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-4484 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Masteriyo LMS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.6. This is due to the plugin allowing a user to update the user role through the 'InstructorsController::prepare_object_for_database' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Student-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to that of an administrator.

    Product
    Masteriyo LMS
    Affected
    up to 2.1.6

  • Mar 22, 2026The Ultimate WordPress Toolkit – WP Extended: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-4314 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The 'The Ultimate WordPress Toolkit – WP Extended' plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.4. This is due to the `isDashboardOrProfileRequest()` method in the Menu Editor module using an insecure `strpos()` check against `$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']` to determine if a request targets the dashboard or profile page. The `grantVirtualCaps()` method, which is hooked into the `user_has_cap` filter, grants elevated capabilities including `manage_options` when this check returns true. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to gain administrative capabilities by appending a crafted query parameter to any admin URL, allowing them to update arbitrary WordPress options and ultimately create new Administrator accounts.

    Product
The Ultimate WordPress Toolkit – WP Extended
    Affected
    up to 3.2.4
    What to do
Affects up to 3.2.4. Update The Ultimate WordPress Toolkit – WP Extended to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.
  • Mar 21, 2026Import and export users and customers: Privilege escalationCVE-2026-3629 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.1

The Import and export users and customers plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.29.7. This is due to the 'save_extra_user_profile_fields' function not properly restricting which user meta keys can be updated via profile fields. The 'get_restricted_fields' method does not include sensitive meta keys such as 'wp_capabilities'. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to escalate their privileges to Administrator by submitting a crafted registration request that sets the 'wp_capabilities' meta key. The vulnerability can only be exploited if the "Show fields in profile" setting is enabled and a CSV with a wp_capabilities column header has been previously imported.

    Product
Import and export users and customers
    Affected

The Expire Users plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.2. This is due to the plugin allowing a user to update the 'on_expire_default_to_role' meta through the 'save_extra_user_profile_fields' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to that of an administrator.

  • Mar 21, 2026App Builder – Create Native Android & iOS Apps On The Flight: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-2375 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.5

The App Builder – Create Native Android & iOS Apps On The Flight plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 5.5.10. This is due to the `verify_role()` function in `AuthTrails.php` explicitly whitelisting the `wcfm_vendor` role alongside `subscriber` and `customer`, and assigning it directly via `wp_insert_user()` without integrating with WCFM Marketplace's vendor approval workflow. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register an account with the `wcfm_vendor` role by supplying the `role` parameter in the `/wp-json/app-builder/v1/register` REST API endpoint, bypassing the standard WCFM vendor approval process and immediately gaining vendor-level privileges (product management, order access, store management) on sites where WCFM Marketplace is active.

  • Mar 7, 2026Paid Videochat Turnkey Site – HTML5 PPV Live Webcams: Privilege EscalationCVE-2025-8899 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Paid Videochat Turnkey Site – HTML5 PPV Live Webcams plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 7.3.20. This is due to videowhisper_register_form() function not restricting user roles that can be set during registration. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to create posts/pages with the registration form and administrator set as the role and subsequently use that form to register an administrator account. This can also be exploited by contributors, but is far less likely to be successful because an administrator would need to approve the form with the administrator role for the attack to be successful.

The Membership Plugin – Restrict Content plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.20. This is due to the `rcp_setup_registration_init()` function accepting any membership level ID via the `rcp_level` POST parameter without validating that the level is active or that payment is required. Combined with the `add_user_role()` method which assigns the WordPress role configured on the membership level without status checks, this makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register with any membership level, including inactive levels that grant privileged WordPress roles such as Administrator, or paid levels that charge a sign-up fee. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 3.2.18.
