  • Aug 27, 2026openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 contain a signature verification vulnerability in gpg_runner.verify_detached that accepts revoked and expired keys by onlyCVE-2026-81700 · Other software · jahlives · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.3

    openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 contain a signature verification vulnerability in gpg_runner.verify_detached that accepts revoked and expired keys by only checking VALIDSIG status without inspecting REVKEYSIG, EXPKEYSIG, or gpg exit codes. Attackers holding compromised-then-revoked signing keys or expired project keys can bypass signature verification to execute malicious plugins in the host process.

  • Aug 27, 2026openssl_encrypt (pip package openssl-encrypt) versions <= 1.4.8 contain a CWD-relative configuration file resolution flaw in crypt_settings.py, where CONFIG_FILCVE-2026-81697 · Other software · jahlives · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

    openssl_encrypt (pip package openssl-encrypt) versions <= 1.4.8 contain a CWD-relative configuration file resolution flaw in crypt_settings.py, where CONFIG_FILE (originally the absolute per-user path ~/.crypt_settings.json) is reassigned at line 84 to the bare relative name 'crypt_settings.json'. As a result, the legacy Tk GUI's SettingsTab reads and writes KDF settings from crypt_settings.json in the process launch (current working) directory instead of the user's home directory. An attacker who plants a malicious crypt_settings.json (e.g. sha256:1 with all memory-hard KDFs disabled) can silently downgrade encryption performed in that GUI session to roughly one hash round, bypassing the weak-KDF preflight and enabling offline brute-force attacks against the resulting ciphertext. Fixed in 1.4.9.

    openssl-encrypt (pip package, versions <= 1.4.8) fails to sanitize filenames read from untrusted drive data (outside the AES-GCM authenticated manifest) before printing them in the verify-usb command's output. An attacker can plant filenames containing terminal cursor-movement and erase-line control bytes that repaint a forged PASSED verdict on screen, masking actual tamper detection. openssl_encrypt (pip: openssl-encrypt) versions 1.4.8 and earlier fail to validate the 36-bit STREAMINFO total_samples field of FLAC files before using it to size an allocation (np.random.randint(size=(total_samples, channels))). A ~50-byte crafted FLAC file declaring ~100 million samples causes a multi-gigabyte memory allocation, leading to out-of-memory denial of service during 'decrypt --stego-extract'. • Aug 27, 2026openssl-encrypt (pip package) before 1.4.9 contains a symlink-following flaw in its verify-usb v2 added-file allowlist scan.CVE-2026-81690 · Other software · jahlives · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

    openssl-encrypt (pip package) before 1.4.9 contains a symlink-following flaw in its verify-usb v2 added-file allowlist scan. The scan enumerated the drive with rglob(), which in CPython does not descend into symlinked directories and treats the symlink as an ordinary directory, while O_NOFOLLOW on the hash side binds only the final path component. An evil-maid attacker with physical access to the removable drive could replace a tool-tree directory with a symlink to a copy containing byte-identical files plus a planted __pycache__/*.pyc file (which CPython loads in preference to recompiling the clean .py). The planted file is never enumerated, added_files stays 0, and verify-usb reports PASSED, resulting in code execution when the victim runs the portable install. Fixed in 1.4.9 (affects both 1.4.x and 1.5.x lines).

    openssl_encrypt 1.4.x before 1.4.9 contains an optional D-Bus crypto service whose org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties.Set method performs neither a polkit authorization check nor value validation. Any local user on the system bus can call Set without authorization and set MaxConcurrentOperations (to 0/negative, causing the concurrency gate to refuse all subsequent operations, or to a huge value removing the limit) or the unbounded DefaultTimeout, resulting in a persistent denial of service of the root daemon. In OpenStack Keystone before 29.0.3, tokens obtained via OAuth1 access token, application credential, or trust-scoped authentication could create new long-lived credentials or authorize new delegations that persist independently of, and outlive, the credential used to obtain them. The delegation restrictions that block these operations did not consistently apply to all delegated token types, allowing an OAuth1-scoped token, for example, to create application credentials or authorize OAuth1 request tokens despite those operations being restricted for other delegated token types. • Aug 25, 2026djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance.CVE-2026-55571 · Other software · djust-org · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

    djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to 1.0.4, LiveViewConsumer.handle_mount sends a `{"type":"navigate","to":...}` frame when login_required, permission_required, or a redirecting on_mount hook denies a LiveView mount, but returns without closing the WebSocket or clearing self.view_instance. A browser follows the redirect, but a raw WebSocket client can ignore it and retain the mounted socket. Because LiveViewConsumer.handle_event does not recheck authentication or authorization, the client can send `{"type":"event",...}` frames that invoke @event_handler methods without an authenticated session, including through handle_live_redirect_mount, enabling unauthorized sensitive reads or mutations. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.4.

    The WebToffee WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes & Shipping Labels plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 4.9.8 via the get_image_src_in_base64 function. • Aug 21, 2026OliveTin gives access to predefined shell commands from a web interface.CVE-2026-53541 · Other software · OliveTin · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3

    OliveTin gives access to predefined shell commands from a web interface. The `filterToDefinedArgumentsOnly` function in the executor is intended to discard any arguments not explicitly defined in the action's configuration. However, prior to commit ebffd9f040f791208aee1db2e5a8aecd1e3e603d, a special case allows any argument whose name starts with `ot_` to bypass this filter. While two system arguments (`ot_executionTrackingId` and `ot_username`) are injected by OliveTin and overridden, all other `ot_`-prefixed arguments supplied by the user pass through unmodified. These bypassed arguments are not type-checked — the validation loop only iterates over the action's defined arguments, so `ot_`-prefixed arguments skip all type safety checks entirely; set as environment variables — via `buildEnv()`, with completely unvalidated values, and passed to the executed command; and included in the template context — available as `.Arguments.ot_*` in template rendering. Commit ebffd9f040f791208aee1db2e5a8aecd1e3e603d contains a patch.

  • Aug 20, 2026Lightdash stores the webhook URL supplied with a scheduled delivery and later posts to it from sendWebhook in packages/backend/src/clients/GoogleChat/GoogleChatCVE-2026-72846 · Other software · lightdash · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.3

    Lightdash stores the webhook URL supplied with a scheduled delivery and later posts to it from sendWebhook in packages/backend/src/clients/GoogleChat/GoogleChatClient.ts and in packages/backend/src/clients/MicrosoftTeams/MicrosoftTeamsClient.ts. In affected versions both call fetch on the stored URL directly. The validatePublicHttpUrl helper in packages/backend/src/utils/ssrfProtection.ts, used for MCP server URLs, is not applied on either path, and the webhook fields carry no server-side URL constraint. A user able to create or trigger a scheduled delivery can therefore direct the server to issue POST requests to private, loopback and link-local addresses, including cloud metadata endpoints, and can distinguish reachable internal services from unreachable ones through the resulting errors. The upstream response is never returned to the requester; on a failure status its body is written to the server log instead. Version 1.146.4 routes both clients through postSchedulerWebhook from packages/backend/src/utils/schedulerWebhookValidation rather than calling fetch directly.

  • Aug 17, 2026openssl_encrypt before 1.4.0 imports Python's non-cryptographic 'random' module (Mersenne Twister PRNG) at line 15 of openssl_encrypt/modules/pqc.py.CVE-2026-74887 · Other software · jahlives · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.3

    openssl_encrypt before 1.4.0 imports Python's non-cryptographic 'random' module (Mersenne Twister PRNG) at line 15 of openssl_encrypt/modules/pqc.py. No direct calls to random.* were present in the code, so no cryptographic operation is currently affected; however, the import creates a hazard that future code could inadvertently use random.randint() instead of a cryptographically secure alternative (secrets/os.urandom), producing predictable values since the Mersenne Twister state can be recovered from approximately 624 outputs. Fixed by removing the import in 1.4.0.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
