In Symfony Expression Language versions prior to 5.4.54, 6.4.48, 7.4.21, and 8.1.9, the parser of the ExpressionLanguage component built its node tree with no bound on its depth. An expression made of tens of thousands of nested unary operators, array literals, binary operators or property accesses crashed the PHP process, while the tree was being freed. #[Assert\ExpressionSyntax] passes the validated value to ExpressionLanguage::lint(), so an application validating expressions written by its users could be crashed by a single request, and so could any code parsing untrusted expressions. This issue affects symfony/expression-language through v5.4.53, v6.0.0-BETA1 through v6.4.47, v7.0.0-BETA1 through v7.4.20, and v8.0.0-BETA1 through v8.1.8.

Oct 14, 2026NewStatPress: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-101924 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2
The NewStatPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 1.4.5 via the 'Last referrers' meta box on the plugin's Overview admin page. This is due to insufficient output escaping of the visitor-supplied query string that the plugin records in its statistics table: the newstatpress_generate_overview_lastreferrers() function concatenates the stored urlrequested value into a single-quoted href attribute after only FILTER_SANITIZE_URL, which does not encode the apostrophe. Oct 13, 2026asteval is a Python expression evaluator designed for restricted execution.CVE-2026-102734 · Other software · lmfit · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5
asteval is a Python expression evaluator designed for restricted execution. Prior to 1.0.9, in asteval/astutils.py, the default Interpreter with numpy enabled exposes a ctypes type and permits from_address memory access. safe_getattr blocks the ctypes module but not reachable ctypes type objects, while attribute assignments use unfiltered setattr instead of safe_setattr. An attacker-controlled expression can derive an address with id, read memory through from_address, and write through an attribute assignment. The expression can read or corrupt arbitrary process memory, escape the intended sandbox, execute code, disclose secrets, or crash the host process. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.9.

N3.js before 2.11.1 contains a regular expression denial of service vulnerability in the N3Lexer number pattern that backtracks quadratically on long digit runs. Attackers can supply untrusted Turtle or N3 input containing long runs of digits that do not end a number, blocking the Node.js event loop and causing denial of service.

Oct 12, 2026Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex_core allows an untrusted repository mirror, or a server answering heCVE-2026-105274 · Other software · erlang · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.1
Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex_core allows an untrusted repository mirror, or a server answering hex_core's API requests, to exhaust the memory of the Erlang VM running hex_core. The same code is vendored in Hex (mix_hex_repo, mix_hex_api) and rebar3 (r3_hex_repo, r3_hex_api). hex_repo:get_names/1, hex_repo:get_versions/1, hex_repo:get_package/2 and hex_repo:get_policy/2 decompress the registry response with zlib:gunzip/1 and decode the signed envelope before verifying its signature. A mirror doesn't have the repository's private key, but it chooses the compressed bytes, so a small response decompresses into an envelope of any size before the signature check rejects it. hex_api decodes responses with the application/vnd.hex+erlang content type through hex_safe_binary_to_term:safe_binary_to_term/1, which calls binary_to_term(Binary, [safe]). The safe option prevents atom creation, but it accepts compressed terms and doesn't limit the size of the decoded term, and the check that rejects functions and ports runs after the term has been built. The fix for CVE-2026-21619 added the safe option and that check without bounding

Oct 12, 2026Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex allows an untrusted package mirror to exhaust the memory or disk spaCVE-2026-96618 · Other software · hexpm · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.1
Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex allows an untrusted package mirror to exhaust the memory or disk space of the machine running mix deps.get, mix deps.update, mix hex.package fetch or mix hex.docs fetch. Hex treats a mirror configured with HEX_MIRROR_URL, HEX_MIRROR or mirror_url as untrusted: it doesn't send credentials to it, and it checks registry signatures and package checksums that the mirror can't forge. Several response paths consume memory or disk in proportion to what the mirror sends before any of those checks run. Hex.HTTP.request/5 reads the whole response body into memory and decompresses it with :zlib.gunzip/1 whenever the response's Content-Encoding contains gzip, with no limit on the compressed or decompressed size. Hex doesn't ask for compressed responses, so the server decides whether this step runs. It applies to registry, package, docs and API responses. Package tarballs have no download size limit. Hex 2.5.1 holds the whole tarball in memory and writes it to the cache, and the development branch streams it to a temporary file; the 16 MiB tarball limit is checked only when the file is unpacked. Oct 11, 2026ngx_cache_purge before 3.0.4 can allow file deletion via a symlink attack in certain situations where nginx and a served application (e.g., WordPress) run underCVE-2026-108981 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by MITRELow 3.6
ngx_cache_purge before 3.0.4 can allow file deletion via a symlink attack in certain situations where nginx and a served application (e.g., WordPress) run under the same user account. The attacker must be able to create a symlink inside the cache path. Version 3.0.4 fixes this for the case of a symlink created at an arbitrary earlier time, but does not resolve an applicable TOCTOU race condition. (The ngx_cache_purge module follows symlinks while walking the cache directory tree during purge operations. The module relies on nginx's ngx_walk_tree(), which relies on stat() and therefore follows symlinks.)
