Aug 13, 2026rsync daemon before 3.5.0 contains an IP address spoofing vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass IP-based access controls by sendiCVE-2026-53791 · Other software · RsyncProject · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.1
rsync daemon before 3.5.0 contains an IP address spoofing vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass IP-based access controls by sending a crafted PROXY protocol header with a forged source address. Attackers who can connect directly to the rsync daemon can inject a spoofed source IP in the PROXY protocol header to circumvent hosts allow/deny rules, gaining unauthorized access that would otherwise be blocked based on their real source address.

Jul 9, 2026A Use of Multiple Resources with Duplicate Identifier vulnerability in the IKE daemon (iked) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX with SPC3 and SRX Series allows CVE-2026-57024 · Network & remote access · Juniper Networks · reported by sirt@juniper.netMedium 6.9
A Use of Multiple Resources with Duplicate Identifier vulnerability in the IKE daemon (iked) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX with SPC3 and SRX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS). On an MX with SPC3 and SRX devices configured for VPN service, when a large number of VPN negotiations fail a peer index rollover will eventually occur. As a result, new peers are assigned index values that are already in use and the iked process starts to crash repeatedly. This results in failure to establish new VPN connections and rekeying existing ones. To restore service the system must be rebooted. Please note that the index value can't be monitored, so customers should monitor tunnel up and down events and if a lot of events occur over an extended period of time it becomes likely that this issue occurs. To be exposed to this issue the system needs to run iked (vs. kmd which is not affected), which can be verified with: user@host> show system processes extensive | match "KMD|IKED" This issue affects Junos OS on MX with SPC3, SRX Series: * all versions before 23.2R2-S7, * 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S6, * 24.2 versions before

Jul 9, 2026An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allCVE-2026-33801 · Network & remote access · Juniper Networks · reported by sirt@juniper.netHigh 7.1
An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent, unauthenticated attacker sending a specific BGP update over an established BGP session to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS). Upon receipt of a specifically malformed non-inet/inet6 unicast BGP update, an RPD crash and restart is triggered, which will cause a complete service outage until routing has reconverged. The rpd crash occurs before the update can be readvertised, so there is no downstream propagation. This issue affects: * Junos OS versions 25.2 before 25.2R2; * Junos OS Evolved versions 25.2 before 25.2R2-EVO. This issue doesn't affect Junos OS versions before 25.2R1 nor Junos OS Evolved versions before 25.2R1-EVO.

Jul 9, 2026An Out-of-bounds Write vulnerability in the SNMP daemon (snmpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an authenticated network-based attackerCVE-2026-33799 · Network & remote access · Juniper Networks · reported by sirt@juniper.netMedium 5.3
An Out-of-bounds Write vulnerability in the SNMP daemon (snmpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an authenticated network-based attacker sending specific valid SNMPv3 queries to trigger a memory leak. Over time, continuous receipt of these queries will result in snmpd process memory exhaustion, resulting in a process crash and restart, impacting the ability to monitor the system via SNMP. Memory usage can be monitored using the following command: user@device> show system processes extensive | match snmpd This issue affects: Junos OS: * all versions before 21.2R3-S8; * from 21.4 before 21.4R3-S7; * from 22.1 before 22.1R3-S6; * from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S4; * from 22.3 before 22.3R3-S3; * from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S2; * from 23.2 before 23.2R2; * from 23.4 before 23.4R2. Jul 9, 2026A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the management daemon (mgd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a local, high-privileged attackCVE-2026-21901 · Network & remote access · Juniper Networks · reported by sirt@juniper.netMedium 6.7
A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the management daemon (mgd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a local, high-privileged attacker setting or deactivating a specific SSH configuration parameter to create a Denial of Service (DoS). A local high-privileged user configuring or deactivating a specific 'system services ssh' configuration parameter can exploit a null pointer dereference in one of the functions used by SSH. The function attempts to dereference a null pointer when accessing certain configuration data, resulting in an mgd process crash and restart. Continued execution of these configuration commands will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Jul 3, 2026Two off-by-one errors in the FreeIPA ipa-otpd daemon's OAuth2 device authorization handler can cause out-of-bounds memory access when processing an oversized reCVE-2026-14612 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 4.2
Two off-by-one errors in the FreeIPA ipa-otpd daemon's OAuth2 device authorization handler can cause out-of-bounds memory access when processing an oversized response from a configured external OAuth2/OIDC Identity Provider. An attacker who controls or can man-in-the-middle the IdP endpoint may be able to trigger ipa-otpd to write or read one byte past the end of a fixed-size buffer. Exploitation requires FreeIPA to be configured with an external IdP, attacker control or MITM of that IdP, and a user to initiate the OAuth2 device authorization flow. The most likely impact is limited denial of service affecting the ipa-otpd daemon.

Jul 2, 2026An invalidly formatted IKEv2 fragment causes the Libreswan pluto daemon to crash and restart.CVE-2026-12413 · Other software · The Libreswan Project · reported by d42dc95b-23f1-4e06-9076-20753a0fb0dfHigh 7.5
An invalidly formatted IKEv2 fragment causes the Libreswan pluto daemon to crash and restart. Continued exploitation would cause a denial of service. The function reassemble_v2_incoming_fragments() would ignore unknown outer payloads but still store these in a fixed size array msg_digest.digest[PAYLIMIT]. An off-by-one error in the assertion PASSERT(logger, md->digest_roof < elemsof(md->digest)) causes the daemon to abort. No remote code execution is possible. Any configuration that allows IKEv2 connections that do not set fragmentation=no are vulnerable. IKEv1 is not affected.

Jun 4, 2026Moby is an open source container framework.CVE-2026-41567 · Other software · moby · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2
Moby is an open source container framework. In versions prior to 29.5.1 and in moby/moby v2 prior to v2.0.0-beta.14, when a compressed archive is uploaded to a container via `PUT /containers/{id}/archive` or piped through `docker cp -`, the daemon resolves decompression binaries (such as `xz` or `unpigz`) from the container's filesystem rather than the host's due to incorrect ordering of operations. A malicious container image containing a trojanized decompression binary can achieve arbitrary code execution with full daemon privileges, including host root UID and unrestricted capabilities, when a user uploads a compressed (xz or gzip) archive into that container. This issue is fixed in Docker Engine 29.5.1 and moby/moby v2.0.0-beta.14. Workarounds include only running containers from trusted images, using authorization plugins to restrict access to the `PUT /containers/{id}/archive` endpoint, and avoiding piping compressed archives into containers created from untrusted images

Jun 2, 2026CZ.NIC BIRD Internet Routing Daemon through 2.19.0 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in the BGP AS_PATH mask matching implementation in nest/a-path.c.CVE-2026-49943 · Other software · NIC · reported by MITREMedium 6.3
CZ.NIC BIRD Internet Routing Daemon through 2.19.0 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in the BGP AS_PATH mask matching implementation in nest/a-path.c. The as_path_match() function uses a fixed-size stack array of 2048 + 1 pm_pos entries, while parse_path() expands AS_PATH segments from a received BGP UPDATE without enforcing a corresponding capacity limit. When RFC 8654 BGP Extended Messages are enabled and a BIRD filter evaluates an AS path mask expression such as "bgp_path ~ [= ... =]", an established BGP peer can send a long AS_PATH containing more than 2048 expanded ASNs. This causes parse_path()/as_path_match() to write beyond the fixed stack buffer, resulting in a crash of the daemon. NOTE: reportedly, the Supplier's position is that a fix is not being prioritized because all network operators should already be rejecting routes with unusually long attributes.

May 27, 2026HTTP::Daemon versions before 6.17 for Perl allow OS command injection via send_file().CVE-2026-8450 · Other software · OALDERS · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.1
HTTP::Daemon versions before 6.17 for Perl allow OS command injection via send_file(). send_file() opens its string argument with Perl's 2-arg open(). The 2-arg form interprets magic prefixes: '| cmd' and 'cmd |' open a pipe to a subprocess, '> path' and '>> path' open the path for write or append. Untrusted input passed to send_file() can run OS commands at the daemon process UID. The read-pipe form ('cmd |') also leaks subprocess stdout into the HTTP response body. The write-mode forms can create or truncate files at attacker chosen paths.

May 21, 2026When a fusefs file system implements extended attributes, the kernel may send a FUSE_LISTXATTR message to the userspace daemon to retrieve the list of extended CVE-2026-45252 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgMedium 5.5
When a fusefs file system implements extended attributes, the kernel may send a FUSE_LISTXATTR message to the userspace daemon to retrieve the list of extended attributes for a given file. The FUSE protocol requires the daemon to return a packed list of NUL-terminated strings. The fusefs kernel module calls strlen() on this daemon-supplied buffer without first verifying that the entire list is NUL-terminated. If a malicious daemon sends a non-NUL-terminated list, the fusefs kernel module may read beyond the end of one heap-allocated buffer and potentially write beyond the end of a second buffer. A malicious daemon could disclose up to 253 bytes of kernel heap memory, or it could inject up to 250 attacker-controlled bytes into unallocated kernel heap space.

Summarize versions through 0.14.1, fixed in commit 0cfb0fb, creates the daemon configuration directory and file with default filesystem permissions that may be world-readable on Unix-like systems, allowing local attackers to read bearer tokens and API credentials stored in ~/.summarize/daemon.json. A local attacker can exploit these permissive permissions to read the daemon bearer token and persisted provider credentials, enabling unauthorized access to the daemon or recovery of sensitive API keys.

May 1, 2026AGL app-framework-binder (afb-daemon) through v19.90.0 allows any local process to execute privileged supervision commands (Exit, Do, Sclose, Config, Trace, DebCVE-2026-37526 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linuxfoundation · reported by MITREHigh 7.8
AGL app-framework-binder (afb-daemon) through v19.90.0 allows any local process to execute privileged supervision commands (Exit, Do, Sclose, Config, Trace, Debug, Token, slist) without authentication via the abstract Unix socket @urn:AGL:afs:supervision:socket. The on_supervision_call function in src/afb-supervision.c dispatches all 8 commands without any credential verification. The abstract socket has no DAC protection, as acknowledged in the official CAUTION comment in src/afs-supervision.h. This allows a low-privileged local process to kill the daemon (DoS via Exit command), execute arbitrary API calls (via Do command), close arbitrary user sessions (via Sclose command), or leak the entire global configuration (via Config command). The vulnerability was introduced in commit b8c9d5de384efcfa53ebdb3f0053d7b3723777e1 on 2017-06-29.

May 1, 2026AGL app-framework-binder (afb-daemon) through v19.90.0 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the supervision Do command.CVE-2026-37525 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linuxfoundation · reported by MITREHigh 7.8
AGL app-framework-binder (afb-daemon) through v19.90.0 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the supervision Do command. The on_supervision_call function in src/afb-supervision.c explicitly nullifies the request credentials by calling afb_context_change_cred(&xreq->context, NULL) before dispatching an attacker-controlled API call via xapi->itf->call(xapi->closure, xreq). The NULL propagation chain through afb-context.c:110 (context->credentials = afb_cred_addref(NULL)) and afb-cred.c:163 (returns NULL when cred is NULL) confirms that credentials are zeroed before the target API executes. The attacker controls both api and verb parameters via JSON input, allowing execution of any registered API with a NULL credential context. APIs that rely on context->credentials for authorization decisions may fail open when receiving NULL credentials, enabling privilege escalation. This vulnerability was introduced in commit abbb4599f0b921c6f434b6bd02bcfb277eecf745 on 2018-02-14.

Apr 15, 2026A flaw was found in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD).CVE-2026-6245 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.5
A flaw was found in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD). The pam_passkey_child_read_data() function within the PAM passkey responder fails to properly handle raw bytes received from a pipe. Because the data is treated as a NUL-terminated C string without explicit termination, it results in an out-of-bounds read when processed by functions like snprintf(). A local attacker could potentially trigger this vulnerability by initiating a crafted passkey authentication request, causing the SSSD PAM responder to crash, resulting in a local Denial of Service (DoS).

Apr 12, 2026Varnish Cache 9 before 9.0.1 allows a "workspace overflow" denial of service (daemon panic) after timeout_linger.CVE-2026-40396 · Other software · varnish-software · reported by MITREMedium 4
Varnish Cache 9 before 9.0.1 allows a "workspace overflow" denial of service (daemon panic) after timeout_linger. A malicious client could send an HTTP/1 request, wait long enough until the session releases its worker thread (timeout_linger) and resume traffic before the session is closed (timeout_idle) sending more than one request at once to trigger a pipelining operation between requests. This vulnerability affecting Varnish Cache 9.0.0 emerged from a port of the Varnish Enterprise non-blocking architecture for HTTP/2. New code was needed to adapt to a more recent workspace API that formalizes the pipelining operation. In addition to the workspace change on the Varnish Cache side, other differences created merge conflicts, like partial support for trailers in Varnish Enterprise. The conflict resolution missed one code path configuring pipelining to perform a complete workspace rollback, losing the guarantee that prefetched data would fit inside workspace_client during the transition from one request to the next. This can result in a workspace overflow, triggering a panic and crashing the Varnish server.

Apr 12, 2026Varnish Enterprise before 6.0.16r12 allows a "workspace overflow" denial of service (daemon panic) for shared VCL.CVE-2026-40395 · Other software · varnish-software · reported by MITREMedium 4
Varnish Enterprise before 6.0.16r12 allows a "workspace overflow" denial of service (daemon panic) for shared VCL. The headerplus.write_req0() function from vmod_headerplus updates the underlying req0, which is normally the original read-only request from which req is derived (readable and writable from VCL). This is useful in the active VCL, after amending req, to prepare a refined req0 before switching to a different VCL with the return (vcl(<label>)) action. This is for example how the Varnish Controller operates shared VCL deployments. If the amended req contained too many header fields for req0, this would have resulted in a workspace overflow that would in turn trigger a panic and crash the Varnish Enterprise server. This could be used as a Denial of Service attack vector by malicious clients.

Varnish Cache 9 before 9.0.1 and Varnish Enterprise before 6.0.16r11 allows a "workspace overflow" denial of service (daemon panic) for certain amounts of prefetched data. The setup of an HTTP/2 session starts with a speculative HTTP/1 transport, and upon upgrading to h2 the HTTP/1 request is repurposed as stream zero. During the upgrade, a buffer allocation is made to reserve space to send frames to the client. This allocation would split the original workspace, and depending on the amount of prefetched data, the next fetch could perform a pipelining operation that would run out of workspace.

An Incorrect Synchronization vulnerability in the management daemon (mgd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a network-based attacker with low privileges to cause a complete Denial-of-Service (DoS) of the management plane. When NETCONF sessions are quickly established and disconnected, a locking issue causes mgd processes to hang in an unusable state. Mar 11, 2026flagd is a feature flag daemon with a Unix philosophy.CVE-2026-31866 · Other software · open-feature · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
flagd is a feature flag daemon with a Unix philosophy. Prior to 0.14.2, flagd exposes OFREP (/ofrep/v1/evaluate/...) and gRPC (evaluation.v1, evaluation.v2) endpoints for feature flag evaluation. These endpoints are designed to be publicly accessible by client applications. The evaluation context included in request payloads is read into memory without any size restriction. An attacker can send a single HTTP request with an arbitrarily large body, causing flagd to allocate a corresponding amount of memory. This leads to immediate memory exhaustion and process termination (e.g., OOMKill in Kubernetes environments). flagd does not natively enforce authentication on its evaluation endpoints. While operators may deploy flagd behind an authenticating reverse proxy or similar infrastructure, the endpoints themselves impose no access control by default. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.14.2.

Mar 6, 2026Internet Routing Registry daemon version 4 is an IRR database server, processing IRR objects in the RPSL format.CVE-2026-28681 · Other software · irrdnet · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1
Internet Routing Registry daemon version 4 is an IRR database server, processing IRR objects in the RPSL format. From version 4.4.0 to before version 4.4.5 and from version 4.5.0 to before version 4.5.1, an attacker can manipulate the HTTP Host header on a password reset or account creation request. The confirmation link in the resulting email can then point to an attacker-controlled domain. Opening the link in the email is sufficient to pass the token to the attacker, who can then use it on the real IRRD instance to take over the account. A compromised account can then be used to modify RPSL objects maintained by the account's mntners and perform other account actions. If the user had two-factor authentication configured, which is required for users with override access, an attacker is not able to log in, even after successfully resetting the password. This issue has been patched in versions 4.4.5 and 4.5.1.
