  • Aug 10, 2026Metacat is data repository software that helps researchers preserve, share, and discover data.CVE-2026-47754 · Other software · NCEAS · reported by GitHubCritical 9.3

    Metacat is data repository software that helps researchers preserve, share, and discover data. Versions 2.x through 2.19.1 and all 1.x versions contain an unauthenticated path traversal in the `archiveEntryName` parameter of the `action=read` endpoint that is part of the original 1.x Metacat API. `ArchiveHandler.readArchiveEntry()` concatenates the user-supplied parameter into a filesystem path without validation, and the surrounding `hasReadPermission()` check is commented out. An unauthenticated remote attacker can read any file accessible to the Tomcat process by sending a single GET request. Proof-of-concept exploits have been demonstrated and verified against this vulnerability, and it should be considered easily exploitable for any Metacat deployment < 3.0.0 by any user with access to the 1.x API. Through this vulnerability, production 2.x deployments are exposed to credential theft, client certificate and private key exfiltration enabling member node impersonation within the federation, embargoed research data disclosure, and broad system reconnaissance. Given Metacat's deployment footprint across the DataONE network of repositories and federally funded research programs, th

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix bo->pin leaking in amdgpu_bo_create_reserved amdgpu_bo_create_reserved() oCVE-2026-68234 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix bo->pin leaking in amdgpu_bo_create_reserved amdgpu_bo_create_reserved() only allocates a new BO when *bo_ptr (struct amdgpu_bo **bo_ptr as input parameter) is NULL, it simply skips creation when *bo_ptr is non-NULL. But it unconditionally reserves, pins, gart allocates and maps the BO afterwards. When the same non-NULL BO pointer is passed in again, for example firmware buffers that live in adev and are re-loaded on every resume / cp_resume / start under AMDGPU_FW_LOAD_DIRECT, amdgpu_bo_pin() just increases pin_count unconditionally, however the matching teardown only unpins once, so pin_count never drops to zero, so TTM is not able to move, swap or evict a BO, causing BO leaks. This commit fixes this issue by only pinning the bo once at creation, and repeated calls no longer take additional pin references. • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: reject zero bucket types in crush_decode CRUSH bucket type 0 is reserved for deviCVE-2026-68154 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: reject zero bucket types in crush_decode CRUSH bucket type 0 is reserved for devices. The mapper relies on that invariant and uses type 0 to identify leaf devices. If crush_decode() accepts a bucket with type 0, a malformed CRUSH map can make the mapper treat a negative bucket ID as a device and pass it to is_out(), which then indexes the OSD weight array with a negative value. Reject zero bucket types while decoding the CRUSH map so the invalid state never reaches the mapper.

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: preserve ACL_DONT_CACHE state in forget_cached_acl() The ACL_DONT_CACHE state is meantCVE-2026-68149 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.4

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: preserve ACL_DONT_CACHE state in forget_cached_acl() The ACL_DONT_CACHE state is meant to be a constant state for the inode for filesystems that want to opt out of posix acl caching. Commit facd61053cff1 ("fuse: fixes after adapting to new posix acl api") used this facility to opt out of posix acl caching for fuse inodes with fuse server that does not negotiate FUSE_POSIX_ACL (fc->posix_acl). The commit also takes care to gate the forget_all_cached_acls() call in fuse_set_acl() on fc->posix_acl because there is no need for it, but there are other placed in fuse code which call forget_all_cached_acls() unconditional to fc->posix_acl and those cause the loss of the ACL_DONT_CACHE state. This is not only a functional bug. Properly timed, a get_acl() from this fuse filesystem can return a stale cached value, as was observed in tests, because set_acl() does not invalidate the unintentional acl cache. We could fix this in fuse, but it actually makes no sense for the vfs helper forget_cached_acl() to invalidate the ACL_DONT_CACHE state, so let it not do that to fix fuse and future users of ACL_DONT_CACHE.

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: reject mapping a reserved doorbell to a new queue When creating an user-queue,CVE-2026-68103 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: reject mapping a reserved doorbell to a new queue When creating an user-queue, the user space provides a doorbell BO handle and an offset within the bo to obtain a doorbell. However current implementation using xa_store_irq() to store a doorbell, which allows a later queue created with the same BO and offset parameters to overwrite an existing queue and doorbell mapping. This can cause problems like misrouting fence IRQ processing to a wrong queue, and mislead the cleanup process of one queue erasing the mapping of another queue. This commit fixes this issue by replacing xa_store_irq with xa_insert_irq, which rejects mapping a reserved doorbell to a newly created queue (cherry picked from commit 6244eae22966350db52faf9c1369d3b2ffc5de4e)

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Preserve rq tracking across local DSQ dispatch dispatch_to_local_dsq() can run from scx_bpf_dsq_move_to_local() while ops.dispatch() has recorded the current rq. Moving a task to a local DSQ may switch to the source or destination rq before synchronously invoking ops.dequeue() through the following path: SCX_CALL_OP(dispatch, rq) ops.dispatch() scx_bpf_dsq_move_to_local() scx_flush_dispatch_buf() finish_dispatch() dispatch_to_local_dsq() scx_dispatch_enqueue() local_dsq_post_enq() call_task_dequeue() SCX_CALL_OP_TASK(dequeue, locked_rq, ...) In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs3: reject direct userspace writes to reserved $LX* xattrs NTFS3 uses $LXUID, $LXGID, $LXMOD and $LXDEV as internal WSL permission metadata and reloads them into i_uid, i_gid and i_mode from ntfs_get_wsl_perm(). Because the empty-prefix xattr handler also lets file owners call setxattr() on these names directly, an unprivileged writer on a writable ntfs3 mount can plant root ownership and S_ISUID on their own file and gain euid 0 after inode reload. Reject direct userspace writes to the reserved $LX* names. Internal ntfs3 metadata updates are unchanged because ntfs_save_wsl_perm() writes them via ntfs_set_ea() directly. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: skmsg: preserve sg.copy across SG transforms The sk_msg sg.copy bitmap is part of the scatterlist entry ownership state. A set bit tells sk_msg_compute_data_pointers() not to expose the entry through writable BPF ctx->data. This protects entries backed by pages that are not private to the sk_msg, such as splice-backed file page-cache pages. Several sk_msg transform paths move, copy, split, or compact msg->sg.data[] entries without moving the matching sg.copy bit. This can make an externally backed entry arrive at a new slot with a clear copy bit. A later SK_MSG verdict can then expose sg_virt(sge) as writable ctx->data and BPF stores can modify the original page cache. Keep sg.copy synchronized with sg.data[] whenever entries are transferred, shifted, split, or copied into a new sk_msg. Clear the bit when an entry is replaced by a newly allocated private page or freed. This covers the BPF pull/push/pop helpers, sk_msg_shift_left/right(), sk_msg_xfer(), and tls_split_open_record(), including the partial tail entry created during TLS open-record splitting.

    The Planyo Online Reservation System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery leading to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 3.0. The ulap.php file acts as an AJAX proxy and is directly accessible without WordPress bootstrapping or any authentication. The send_http_post() function validates the host of the provided URL against an allowlist that includes 'localhost', but critically fails to validate the URL scheme/protocol. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to supply a file:// URL (e.g., file://localhost/etc/passwd) which bypasses the host allowlist check because parse_url() returns 'localhost' as the host. The URL is then passed to curl_init() or fopen(), both of which support the file:// protocol, allowing the attacker to read arbitrary local files on the server and have their contents returned in the HTTP response. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive files such as /etc/passwd, wp-config.php (containing database credentials and authentication keys), and other server-side files.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Use krealloc_array() in dal_vector_reserve() [Why & How] dal_vector_reserve() computes the allocation size as "capacity * vector->struct_size" using uint32_t arithmetic, which can silently wrap to a small value on overflow. This would cause krealloc to return a smaller buffer than expected, leading to heap overflows on subsequent vector appends. Replace krealloc() with krealloc_array() which performs an internal overflow check and returns NULL on wrap, preventing the issue. 7-Zip for Windows through 26.01 fails to preserve the Mark-of-the-Web when extracting a crafted RAR5 archive, because its guard that suppresses an archive-supplied Zone.Identifier stream matches the exact name 'Zone.Identifier' while a RAR5 STM record named ':Zone.Identifier:$DATA' is not matched and NTFS canonicalizes it to the same stream, overwriting the propagated Internet-zone marker with ZoneId=0. A second STM record named '::$DATA' overwrites the extracted file's default data stream, letting an attacker defeat SmartScreen/MotW warnings and spoof file content.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/hugetlb: restore reservation on error in hugetlb folio copy paths Two sites in mm/hugetlb.c allocate a hugetlb folio via alloc_hugetlb_folio() (consuming a VMA reservation) and then call copy_user_large_folio(), which became int-returning in commit 1cb9dc4b475c ("mm: hwpoison: support recovery from HugePage copy-on-write faults") and can now fail (e.g. -EHWPOISON on a hwpoisoned source page). On the failure path, folio_put() restores the global hugetlb pool count through free_huge_folio(), but the per-VMA reservation map entry is left marked consumed: - hugetlb_mfill_atomic_pte() resubmission path (UFFDIO_COPY) - copy_hugetlb_page_range() fork-time CoW path when hugetlb_try_dup_anon_rmap() fails (rare: pinned hugetlb anon folio under fork) User-visible effect: on UFFDIO_COPY into a private hugetlb VMA where the resubmission copy fails, the reservation for that address is leaked from the VMA's reserve map. A subsequent fault at the same address takes the no-reservation path, and under hugetlb pool pressure the task is SIGBUSed at an address it had previously reserved. The fork-time CoW path le

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: macvlan: fix macvlan_get_size() not reserving space for IFLA_MACVLAN_BC_CUTOFF macvlan_get_size() does not account for IFLA_MACVLAN_BC_CUTOFF, but macvlan_fill_info() conditionally includes it when port->bc_cutoff != 1. This causes nla_put_s32() to fail with -EMSGSIZE when the netlink skb runs out of space, triggering a WARN_ON in rtnetlink and preventing the interface from being dumped. The bug can be reproduced with: ip link add macvlan0 link eth0 type macvlan mode bridge ip link set macvlan0 type macvlan bc_cutoff 0 ip -d link show macvlan0 # fails with -EMSGSIZE The bc_cutoff feature was added in commit 954d1fa1ac93 ("macvlan: Add netlink attribute for broadcast cutoff"), which added the nla_put_s32() call in macvlan_fill_info() but missed adding the corresponding nla_total_size(4) in macvlan_get_size(). A follow-up commit 55cef78c244d ("macvlan: add forgotten nla_policy for IFLA_MACVLAN_BC_CUTOFF") fixed the missing nla_policy entry but still did not fix the size calculation.

    vantage6 is an open-source infrastructure for privacy preserving analysis. Versions prior to 5.0.0 provide an initial user with username `root` and password `root`. This is not ideal because attackers know that almost all vantage6 servers have a user with username `root` that probably has admin rights, and the initial password is very weak and it is possible that administrators forget to reset it. Version 5.0.0 fixes the issue. As a workaround, it is possible to delete the `root` user after it has been used to create other users.

    Runtipi is a personal homeserver orchestrator. In versions 4.9.1 through 4.9.3, Runtipi serves marketplace app logos from files inside cloned app-store repositories through an unauthenticated endpoint, which leads to arbitrary file read through app-store logo symlinks. The path guard checks only the lexical path before Node reads the file, so a Git app store that contains metadata/logo.jpg as a symbolic link can cause Runtipi to read and return the symlink target. Because the endpoint is public and the symlink target may point outside the cloned repository, this can expose local files from the Runtipi container such as /data/.env, /data/state/seed, logs, or application files. This can disclose JWT secrets, service credentials, local configuration, and operational logs depending on the instance. The issue has been fixed in version 4.10.0.

    Metacat is data repository software that helps researchers preserve, share, and discover data. Versions 2.0.0 and and above contain an unauthenticated SQL injection in the /harvesterRegistration endpoint. HarvesterRegistration.dbInsert() builds an INSERT against HARVEST_SITE_SCHEDULE via string concatenation, using a quoteString() helper that performs raw single-quote wrapping without escaping. Three request parameters reach the sink: unit, contactEmail, and documentListURL. The servlet does not verify a real LDAP identity. Allowing the vulnerable insert to proceed. Since the PostgreSQL backend permits stacked queries via Statement.executeUpdate(), this vulnerability allows full read/write/execute access in the Metacat database context.
