  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: reject short WMI command responses ath9k_wmi_rsp_callback() removes the validCVE-2026-98828 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: reject short WMI command responses ath9k_wmi_rsp_callback() removes the validated WMI header and copies the number of bytes expected by the waiting command into its response buffer. A device response shorter than that expectation can therefore be read beyond the skb payload. Record -EMSGSIZE for a short response, complete the waiter, and return the stored status from the command path. This also prevents callers from consuming stale response bytes as a successful reply.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Fix inquiry cache use-after-free The sync command worker holds hdev->CVE-2026-98737 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: Fix inquiry cache use-after-free The sync command worker holds hdev->req_lock, but inquiry-cache updates and flushes use hdev->lock. Both hci_acl_create_conn_sync() and hci_stop_discovery_sync() look up entries and read their fields without taking hdev->lock. After either lookup returns, a concurrent HCIINQUIRY ioctl can acquire hdev->lock and flush the cache, freeing the entry. The worker then reads the freed entry while preparing a create-connection or remote-name-cancel command. The list traversal also races with cache updates and removal. • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Keep internal commands dispatchable during error handling Commit 08b12cdaCVE-2026-98478 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Keep internal commands dispatchable during error handling Commit 08b12cda6c44 ("scsi: ufs: core: Switch to scsi_get_internal_cmd()") switched UFS internal commands to allocate requests on hba->host->pseudo_sdev->request_queue, which shares the host tagset with regular LUNs. During error recovery, ufshcd_err_handling_prepare() calls blk_mq_quiesce_tagset(&hba->host->tag_set), marking all queues in the tagset as quiesced, including pseudo_sdev->request_queue. When ufshcd_verify_dev_init() subsequently issues internal commands (e.g. NOP OUT UPIU) via blk_execute_rq(), blk_mq_run_hw_queue() skips running the quiesced queue, resulting in an unrecoverable circular wait deadlock. Keep quiescing the tagset and unquiesce the pseudo SCSI device on top of that, so internal commands stay dispatchable while the logical units remain quiesced. Re-quiesce the pseudo device before unquiescing the tagset so that quiesce_depth stays balanced. Clock scaling and ufshcd_pause_command_processing() are unaffected: they keep quiescing the whole tagset, internal commands included.

  • Oct 16, 2026WP Photo Album Plus: Authenticated Command InjectionCVE-2026-92115 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The WP Photo Album Plus plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authenticated Command Injection in all versions up to, and including, 9.3.02.002 via the `value` parameter of the `update-photo` AJAX action. This is due to insufficient shell escaping within the `wppa_image_magick_a()` function, where the attacker-controlled `value` parameter is concatenated raw — without `escapeshellarg()` — into an ImageMagick command string before being passed to `exec()`; further, `wppa_decode()` actively restores percent-encoded shell metacharacters (e.g., `%26`→`&`, `%23`→`#`) rather than stripping them, allowing crafted payloads to survive sanitization and break out of the ImageMagick argument context. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers holding the plugin-defined `wppa_upload` capability to execute arbitrary operating-system commands as the web-server user, achieving full remote code execution on the underlying server. Exploitation requires ImageMagick to be enabled on the server; the `wppa_upload` capability is a plugin-level privilege that site administrators may grant to lower-privileged WordPress roles via the plugin's Users settings, broadening the pool of potential attackers

  • Oct 14, 2026Netgate pfSense FRR package (pfSense-pkg-frr) 2.0.2_1 and source revision 2.1.2_1 contain an OS command injection vulnerability in the FRR status filter.CVE-2026-110908 · Other software · Netgate · reported by MITREHigh 8.8

Netgate pfSense FRR package (pfSense-pkg-frr) 2.0.2_1 and source revision 2.1.2_1 contain an OS command injection vulnerability in the FRR status filter. An authenticated WebGUI user with only the page-status-frr privilege can supply a filter value that breaks out of a single-quoted sed expression into which escapeshellarg() output is concatenated. Shell command substitution is then evaluated by a popen() pipeline, allowing attacker-selected commands to execute as root. There are updated FRR packages for pfSense Plus 26.07/26.03.1 and CE 2.9.0/2.8.1.

  • Oct 14, 2026MoviePilot through 3.1.5 contains a command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands by embedding malicious instructions iCVE-2026-77931 · Other software · jxxghp · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

MoviePilot through 3.1.5 contains a command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands by embedding malicious instructions in untrusted content processed through tools like browse_webpage, search_web, and torrent metadata parsers, which then get passed to the unrestricted ExecuteCommandTool via asyncio.create_subprocess_shell. Attackers can craft content that instructs the model to invoke execute_command with confirm_dangerous set to true, bypassing the validate_command_safety denylist and exploiting the admin session's is_admin context to achieve remote code execution on the host.
