Sep 4, 2026Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a remote HTTP server to exhaust CPU on the client host and cause a denial of serviceCVE-2026-82729 · Other software · elixir-mint · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.3
Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a remote HTTP server to exhaust CPU on the client host and cause a denial of service. parse_hex_prefix/2 in lib/mint/http1/parse.ex folds each hex digit of a chunked response's chunk-size field into an arbitrary-precision accumulator with acc * 16 + digit and imposes no limit on the digit count. Because the accumulator grows without bound, the multiplication is not constant time and one pass over N digits costs O(N squared). handle_data/2 prepends conn.buffer and re-parses from the start on every socket message, so a server that dribbles the digits out in small packets makes the client pay that cost repeatedly. A run of roughly 512,000 hex digits costs over ten seconds of CPU in a single pass, measured on stock defaults. The parser reaches this state after a valid status line and a complete, valid header section, so an intermediary inspecting only headers sees an ordinary 200 response. This issue affects mint: from 1.9.3 before 1.10.0.

Signum Node is a HDD-mined cryptocurrency using an energy efficient and fair Proof-of-Commitment (PoC+) consensus algorithm. Prior to version 3.9.9, an integer overflow in BlockServiceImpl.applyBlock() allowed a miner to receive an arbitrarily inflated block reward by crafting a block with a negative totalFeeCashBackNqt value. The vulnerability was introduced when the SMART_FEES hardfork (block ~1,029,000) enabled fee cash-back and burn accounting without overflow protection. This issue has been patched in version 3.9.9.

Aug 29, 2026Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in ash-project ash_paper_trail allows a user who can submit a large array attribute to a paper-trailed create oCVE-2026-77831 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.1
Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in ash-project ash_paper_trail allows a user who can submit a large array attribute to a paper-trailed create or update action to cause a denial of service through excessive CPU and memory use. With full-diff change tracking, AshPaperTrail.ChangeBuilders.FullDiff.ListChange pairs each prior array element against the new list by rebuilding the remaining-elements accumulator with acc ++ [tuple] on every step, copying the growing list each time, so the pairing scales cubically in the array length. Nothing bounds the length and the value comes straight from action input, so one request carrying a large accepted {:array, _} attribute forces tens of seconds of CPU and multi-gigabyte allocations. An attacker that has valid credentials can select a compression algorithm for the IMAP connection whose decompression state requires a large amount of memory, and open several such connections. The memory limit of the process is reached with only a few connections, terminating the process and all connections it handles, which can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Disable IMAP compression. Alternatively limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process, though this has a performance impact. Update to non-vulnerable version. Aug 25, 2026An algorithmic complexity flaw exists in libsoup's HTTP Range header processing that persists after the CVE-2025-32907 fix.CVE-2026-77680 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3
An algorithmic complexity flaw exists in libsoup's HTTP Range header processing that persists after the CVE-2025-32907 fix. CVE-2025-32907 addressed memory amplification when a client repeated the same range many times in a single Range header. Commit 9bb92f7a corrected merge correctness in soup_message_headers_get_ranges_internal() in libsoup/soup-message-headers.c, but the coalescing loop still removes merged ranges using g_array_remove_index() for each coalesced element. Because GArray is contiguous, each mid-array removal performs an O(N) memmove. When many identical satisfiable ranges are supplied (for example bytes=0-0 repeated thousands of times), the loop performs O(N²) work coalescing them into a single range. The vulnerable path is reachable server-side from handle_partial_get() in libsoup/server/http1/soup-server-message-io-http1.c when a SoupServer handler returns HTTP 200 with a non-empty body. No authentication is required. The number of ranges is bounded only by the maximum request header size (~100 KiB), allowing roughly 25,000 ranges per request. Reporter measurements on libsoup HEAD containing the CVE-2025-32907 fix show ~90 ms single-core CPU per such request a

Issue summary: OpenSSL CMP password based protection verification only checks whether the protectionAlg parameter was not NULL and not its ASN.1 type, before treating it as a PBMParameter. A crafted message can contain a parameter of a different type, which is then dereferenced as an invalid pointer. Impact summary: A remote, unauthenticated attacker can crash an application acting as a CMP server that accepts PBM-protected messages, or a CMP client talking to a malicious or intercepted CMP server, resulting in a Denial of Service. CWE: CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference Description: When verifying the password-based MAC protection of a CMP message, OpenSSL library reads the protectionAlg algorithm parameter with X509_ALGOR_get0(), which returns both the parameter type and its value pointer. The value is then cast to an ASN1_STRING and treated as the expected PBMParameter after only checking that pointer is not NULL. The parameter type returned by X509_ALGOR_get0() was never consulted. This happens during protection verification, before any MAC is computed, so no knowledge of the PBM shared secret is required; the only precondition is that PBM verification is reachable. On the s

Aug 22, 2026Mailgun for: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)CVE-2026-78003 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8
The Mailgun for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via path traversal in versions up to and including 2.2.0. This is due to insufficient input validation in the add_list() function, which accepts user-controlled array keys from $_POST['addresses'], passes them through sanitize_text_field(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to make authenticated POST requests to any Mailgun API endpoint using the WordPress site's API key, including creating inbound email-forwarding routes that can intercept password reset emails, leading to administrator account takeover.

Aug 19, 2026Algernon is a small self-contained pure-Go web server.CVE-2026-52792 · Other software · xyproto · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Algernon is a small self-contained pure-Go web server. Prior to 1.17.9, Algernon on Windows selects a file handler in engine/handlers.go by calling filepath.Ext() without first rejecting NTFS-equivalent names such as x.lua::$DATA, x.lua., and x.lua . An unauthenticated client can append one of these suffixes to a public server-side script using the .lua, .tl, .po2, .amber, or .frm extension. The request path passes through URL2filename in utils/files.go, skips the renderer and execution cases, and reaches FilePage, os.Open, ReadAndLogErrors, and ToClient, while NTFS resolves the alias to the underlying script. The server consequently returns raw script source and can expose database credentials, API keys, and the SetCookieSecret value, which may permit forged session cookies. Linux and macOS hosts are not affected by this issue. This issue is fixed in version 1.17.9.

Aug 19, 2026Net::OAuth versions before 0.33 for Perl allow the sender to choose the signature algorithm in verify.CVE-2026-72889 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.8
Net::OAuth versions before 0.33 for Perl allow the sender to choose the signature algorithm in verify. verify resolves the signature method class from the signature_method parameter of the incoming message. signature_method is required on every request, so the algorithm used to check a signature is chosen by whoever sent it, and nothing lets the verifying party pin the method instead. When a message names HMAC-SHA1 or HMAC-SHA256, the key is derived from consumer_secret and token_secret rather than from the key the provider deployed. A provider deployed on RSA-SHA1 holds only the consumer public key, and RFC 5849 does not use consumer_secret for that method, so the required parameter is filled with a placeholder. A client that names HMAC-SHA1 instead has its signature checked against that placeholder, so a guessable one is enough to forge requests for any consumer key and token.

Expat through 2.8.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability caused by quadratic algorithmic complexity in the storeAtts() function in xmlparse.c, where processing N specified attributes with non-normalized values triggers an O(N^2) linear scan of elementType->defaultAtts to determine CDATA status. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: algif_skcipher - force synchronous processing on trees without ctx->state The AIO/async path in skcipher_recvmsg() passes the socket-wide ctx->iv directly into the skcipher request. After io_submit() the socket lock is dropped and the request is processed asynchronously, so a concurrent sendmsg(ALG_SET_IV) can overwrite ctx->iv and make the in-flight request run under an attacker-controlled IV. For CTR/stream modes this is IV/keystream reuse and lets an unprivileged user recover the plaintext of a concurrent operation. Snapshotting ctx->iv into per-request storage for the async path is not sufficient. For ciphers with statesize == 0 - which includes cbc and ctr - the MSG_MORE inter-chunk IV chaining is carried solely by the in-place req->iv writeback, which a snapshot redirects into per-request memory that af_alg_free_resources() releases on completion, silently producing wrong output. Writing the IV back from the completion callback instead is not possible either: that would require lock_sock() there, but the callback can run in softirq/atomic context, so it must not sleep. Make the operation synchrono

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: timer: Clear SNDRV_TIMER_IFLG_DEAD once the close completes snd_timer_close_locked()CVE-2026-74503 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: timer: Clear SNDRV_TIMER_IFLG_DEAD once the close completes snd_timer_close_locked() marks an instance with SNDRV_TIMER_IFLG_DEAD and returns early when the flag is already set, but the flag is never cleared again. A completed close ends in remove_slave_links(), which leaves timeri->timer NULL, so a second close is already harmless through the timer == NULL path; the early return can only be reached by an instance that was opened again in between. For such an instance the close unlinks nothing, so snd_timer_instance_free() frees an object that is still on timer->open_list_head, still on snd_timer_master_list if it was opened with a slave key, still owns any adopted slaves, and still holds its timer and module references. snd_seq_timer_open() reopens an instance exactly like that: it retries its fallback open on the same object after a failure that has already run snd_timer_close_locked() internally. An unprivileged user with access to /dev/snd/timer and /dev/snd/seq can force that failure, since snd_timer_check_master() returns -EBUSY when a pending slave matches the new master's (slave_class, slave_id)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: sun4i-ss - Remove insecure and unused rng_alg Remove sun4i_ss_rng, as it is insecure and unused: - It has multiple vulnerabilities. sun4i_ss_prng_seed() is missing locking and has a buffer overflow. sun4i_ss_prng_generate() fails to fill the entire buffer with cryptographic random bytes, because it rounds the destination length down and also doesn't actually wait for the hardware to be ready before pulling bytes from it. - No user of this code is known. It's usable only theoretically via the "rng" algorithm type of AF_ALG. But userspace actually just uses the actual Linux RNG (/dev/random etc) instead. And rng_algs don't contribute entropy to the actual Linux RNG either. (This may have been confused with hwrng, which does contribute entropy.) The sun4i_ss_prng_seed() buffer overflow was reported by Tianchu Chen and discovered by Atuin - Automated Vulnerability Discovery Engine There's no point in fixing all these vulnerabilities individually when this is unused code, so let's just remove it.

Aug 13, 2026sm-crypto provides JavaScript implementations of the Chinese cryptographic algorithms SM2, SM3, and SM4.CVE-2026-73567 · Other software · JuneAndGreen · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1
sm-crypto provides JavaScript implementations of the Chinese cryptographic algorithms SM2, SM3, and SM4. Prior to 0.5.0, the default no-argument sm2.generateKeyPairHex() path in Node.js uses the module-wide SecureRandom instance in src/sm2/utils.js, supplied by jsbn@1.1.0, which seeds an ARC4 stream from Math.random() and new Date().getTime() because window.crypto.getRandomValues is unavailable even though globalThis.crypto exists. An attacker who can observe the process's Math.random() outputs and estimate the key-generation time can reconstruct the seed, recover generated SM2 private keys, and predict signing ephemeral scalars used to forge signatures. Aug 11, 2026python-socketio is a Python implementation of the Socket.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48804 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
python-socketio is a Python implementation of the Socket.IO realtime client and server. The python-socketio server stores binary `EVENT` and `ACK` messages in memory while it waits to receive their binary attachments. Once all the attachments are received, these messages are then processed. Prior to version 5.16.4, an attacker can submit a binary message and intentionally omit sending one or more of its attachments to cause the message along with the partial list of received attachments to stay in memory for a long time. Version 5.16.4 takes the following measures to address this issue: Binary packets are only accepted from authenticated clients and, when a client disconnects, the server checks if there is a partial binary message being held for the client and deletes it.

Aug 11, 2026python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48809 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server. Versions prior to 4.13.2 have two specific configurations of the python-engineio server in which the size of incoming messages is not checked before the messages are loaded into memory. An attacker can take advantage of these to cause unnecessary memory allocations in the python-engineio server. The two cases are POST requests, when using ASGI with the long polling transport and WebSocket messages, when using Aiohttp with the WebSocket transport. Version 4.13.2 addresses this issue. ASGI severs now only load the body of incoming requests into memory after the client is confirmed to be known and authenticated, and the payload size is below the maximum allowed size. Requests that do not comply with these requirements are discarded. Aiohttp servers configure the maximum payload size in the underlying WebSocket layer from Aiohttp, so that large messages are discarded by Aiohttp before they are delivered to python-engineio.

Aug 11, 2026python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48802 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server. Prior to version 4.13.2, an attacker can cause the creation of unnecessary background threads in the python-engineio server by exploiting the heartbeat mechanism, which launches a thread when a new connection is received, and when the client sends a PONG packet. This issue primarily affects synchronous servers. Asynchronous servers allocate background tasks instead of physical threads, which are lightweight and less likely to cause denial of service. However, the fix that was implemented was also applied to the asynchronous case. Version 4.13.2 addresses this issue as follows: The initial background thread (or async task( for heartbeat management is only launched if a client passes authentication in the `connect` handler; and the server now ensures that there is only one background heatbeat thread (or async task) per client at a given point in time. Out of sequence PONG packets are now discarded when an active heartbeat thread is already running.

TimescaleDB through 2.29.1, fixed in commit 517c13e, contains an out-of-bounds read in the Dictionary compression reverse row iterator (tsl/src/compression/algorithms/dictionary.c). The forward path validates the decoded index; the reverse path uses an assertion compiled out of release builds, leaving the 64-bit Simple8b index unvalidated and the read offset attacker-controlled. Attackers with DML access to a physical compressed relation can store a crafted datum and run a reverse-order scan. With a pass-by-value column type the out-of-bounds Datum is returned to the client as a normal column value, disclosing backend memory including the shared buffer pool, which SQL access control does not cover.

Aug 6, 2026Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in the traversal engine in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CVE-2026-68750 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in the traversal engine in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CPU and memory via a flat run of sibling elements in sanitized HTML. The list clause of HtmlSanitizeEx.Traverser.traverse/2 recurses on the tail of a sibling list and then evaluates List.flatten([head] ++ tail) over the already flattened result, so every one of n siblings copies and re-walks the entire remaining tail. The flattening is only needed for the rare case where scrub returns several replacement nodes for one node, but the cost is paid across the whole tail at every step, making traversal quadratic in sibling count. The traverser sits on every public entry point, so no particular scrubber or configuration is required and the payload needs only allowed tags. A 160 KB body of 20,000 sibling elements occupies a scheduler for roughly 1.7 seconds, and the cost grows faster than the body does. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3.

Aug 6, 2026FluentSMTP – WP SMTP Plugin with Amazon SES, SendGrid, MailGun, Postmark, Google and Any SMTP Provider: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-16636 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2
The FluentSMTP – WP SMTP Plugin with Amazon SES, SendGrid, MailGun, Postmark, Google and Any SMTP Provider plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Recipient Display Name (to.name) in Email Logs in all versions up to, and including, 2.2.95 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The payload is delivered via an attacker-controlled recipient display name (to.name) in a wp_mail() call and does not fire in the log list view — only in the detail view when an administrator uses the Prev/Next navigation controls, as that path bypasses the escapeHtml pipeline used by the list view.

Jul 29, 2026cJSON through 1.7.19 contains an inefficient algorithmic complexity flaw in cJSON_Compare().CVE-2026-67216 · Other software · DaveGamble · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.2
cJSON through 1.7.19 contains an inefficient algorithmic complexity flaw in cJSON_Compare(). When comparing objects, the function recurses into each shared subtree twice, once in each direction, with no depth guard, making the running time exponential in nesting depth. A small, deeply nested document of a few hundred bytes (depth around 40) compared for equality consumes hours of CPU, and the cost roughly doubles with each additional level of nesting. An application that calls cJSON_Compare() on attacker-influenced JSON that is structurally equal to a reference document is exposed to a denial-of-service condition.

Use of an insecure cryptographic algorithm in the cashless payment system using NFC wristbands from CasfID Servicios Tecnológicos S.L.U. (version used at Resurrection Fest 2025), which employs cards based on MIFARE Classic technology (FM11RF08S). The cryptographic weakness of the authentication algorithm allows an attacker to retrieve access keys using techniques known as Backdoored Nested Attack, read the wristband’s entire contents, and clone its credentials onto a compatible rewritable card. Exploitation of this vulnerability could enable the impersonation of other attendees, the fraudulent use of the balance associated with their wristbands, and financial losses for both the affected users and the event organizers.
