    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/dax: check zero or empty entry before converting xarray entry Calling dax_to_folio() with empty entry causes kernel panic below when booting a VM with DAX enabled storage. This patch checks empty entry before calling dax_to_folio() on dax_associate_entry(), dax_disassociate_entry(), and dax_busy_page(). Commit 98c183a4fccf ("fs/dax: don't disassociate zero page entries") added guards in the associate and disassociate paths, but the guards still come after dax_to_folio(), and dax_busy_page() still has the same problem. • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: wwan: t7xx: validate the netif index in t7xx_ccmni_recv_skb() The netif index carriedCVE-2026-98238 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: wwan: t7xx: validate the netif index in t7xx_ccmni_recv_skb() The netif index carried in the DPMAIF PIT header is five bits wide, but ccmni_inst[] only has room for NIC_DEV_MAX (21) entries. t7xx_ccmni_recv_skb() indexes the array without a bounds check, so indexes 21 to 31 read past it. The out-of-bounds value lands in the callback table that follows the array, which is never NULL, so the existing !ccmni check does not catch it and the driver dereferences whatever sits there as a struct t7xx_ccmni. Drop the skb when the index is out of range. Verified in a QEMU guest with a fault injector setting the netif index to 25: the unpatched driver reads a value past ccmni_inst[], which lands in the callback table, and dereferences it far enough to queue the skb. With this check the packet is dropped. Well-formed traffic on index 0 is unaffected. Changes in v2: none.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix potential OOB read in smb3_enum_snapshots() If snapshot_array_size is smaCVE-2026-98169 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix potential OOB read in smb3_enum_snapshots() If snapshot_array_size is smaller than GMT_TOKEN_SIZE, smb3_enum_snapshots() sets ret_data_len to sizeof(struct smb_snapshot_array) without verifying the actual length of the server's reply. Because SMB2_ioctl() places no lower bound on the server-supplied OutputCount and allocates retbuf to exactly that length, a short reply results in ret_data_len exceeding the size of retbuf. The subsequent copy_to_user() then reads past the end of retbuf, leaking adjacent slab memory to userspace. The subsequent clamp check is ineffective as it only reduces ret_data_len. Fix this by rejecting replies shorter than sizeof(struct smb_snapshot_array) with -EIO. Note that the bound is set to the 12-byte struct size rather than the 16-byte MIN_SNAPSHOT_ARRAY_SIZE defined in MS-SMB2 3.3.5.15.1, because 12 bytes is exactly what copy_to_user() attempts to read.

    In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.86, the high-level OpenPGP API accepted a data signature made by a signing subkey whose Subkey Binding signature carried no embedded Primary Key Binding (cross-certification) signature, in the case where that binding omits a Key Flags subpacket. RFC 9580 sec. 5.2.1.8 and sec. 10.1.3 require the embedded Primary Key Binding signature on any subkey that can issue signatures; it is the subkey's own statement that it belongs to the primary key it is bound under. OpenPGPCertificate resolved the subkey's key flags two different ways. isSigningKey() goes through getKeyFlags() and getApplyingSubpacket(), which falls back to the primary key's direct-key or primary User ID self-signature when the binding signature omits the subpacket, so the subkey inherited the primary's SIGN_DATA and counted as signing-capable; verifyEmbeddedPrimaryKeyBinding(), which enforces the requirement, reads the binding signature's own hashed subpackets, found no SIGN_DATA there, and returned early as a non-signing key without ever demanding the back signature. The same subkey was therefore signing-capable - so its signatures were attributed to the certificate and OpenPGPSignature

  • Sep 30, 2026Integer Overflow, Improper Validation of Array Index, Uncontrolled Recursion and Memory Allocation with Excessive Size Value in the Go implementation of Apache CVE-2026-102510 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.7

    Integer Overflow, Improper Validation of Array Index, Uncontrolled Recursion and Memory Allocation with Excessive Size Value in the Go implementation of Apache PLC4X (PLC4Go) allow a malicious device, or an attacker able to inject network traffic, to crash or exhaust the memory of the client application, causing a denial of service. The individual defects are: - Generated parsers pre-allocate arrays with the element count claimed on the wire (0.13.0 through 0.13.1). - Transport read helpers allocate buffers of the size claimed on the wire without an upper bound. - ADS and KNXnet/IP response handling indexes into received data without checking its length, causing a panic. - ADS and EIP frame-length handling accepts, or arithmetically wraps to, a length of zero, breaking message framing. - Recursive protocol types are parsed without a nesting-depth limit. The same defect in the Java implementation is covered by CVE-2026-102509 https://cveprocess.apache.org/cve5/CVE-2026-102509 . Additionally, length and position arithmetic in generated serializers was performed in 16-bit integers. An unauthenticated client can drain the RTSP server's packet pool with a couple of dozen requests that carry a Session header the parser cannot convert. The Session branch returns the raw NetX error code instead of an RTSP status code: ```c /* addons/rtsp/nx_rtsp_server.c:2754 */ status = _nx_utility_string_to_uint(field_value_ptr, field_value_length, &session_id); if (status) { return(status); /* NX_INVALID_PARAMETERS / NX_SIZE_ERROR / NX_OVERFLOW */ } ``` Every other branch of the same function maps its failure to an RTSP status first. The CSeq branch eighteen lines earlier does exactly that (line 2736 returns NX_RTSP_STATUS_CODE_BAD_REQUEST). The raw code then reaches `_nx_rtsp_server_error_response_send` (nx_rtsp_server.c:1234), which does not recognise it, takes a path that returns without releasing the response packet it already allocated, and the block never goes back to the pool. Issue summary: The QUIC stream reassembly algorithm performance deteriorates progressively as packets are arriving out of order. The worst case has a quadratic complexity proportional to the number of stream frames kept in the buffer for the received stream data. Impact summary: A remote QUIC peer that completes the handshake can create a connection-scoped CPU pressure and potentially a Denial of Service using compliant STREAM frames inside the advertised receive window, with low attacker bandwidth. CWE: CWE-407: Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity Description: OpenSSL manages received QUIC stream fragments using a doubly-linked list. While it optimizes for append operations (at the end of the list), it falls back to a head-to-tail linear search for any fragment that does not immediately follow the current `tail`. By manipulating the sequence of offsets, an attacker can force the server to perform O(n^2) operations, consuming excessive CPU time for the QUIC process. FIPS impact: no The FIPS module is not affected as the QUIC implementation is outside of the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary.

    parse_write_op() in subsys/net/lib/lwm2m/lwm2m_message_handling.c handles inbound CoAP WRITE/CREATE requests that carry a Block1 option. For the first block of a transfer it called init_block_ctx() and then immediately stored the peer-selected block size with block_ctx->ctx.block_size = block_size before inspecting the return code. init_block_ctx() sets the caller's pointer to NULL and returns -ENOMEM when no entry of the static block1_contexts[] pool is free or timed out, so that store dereferences a NULL pointer. The pool holds CONFIG_LWM2M_NUM_BLOCK1_CONTEXT entries (default 3) and an entry is only reclaimed once its transfer completes, fails, or ages past 30 seconds. A peer that reaches the client's LwM2M socket can therefore start three block-wise writes on three distinct object paths with the CoAP More bit set and leave them incomplete, then send the first block of a fourth write on a new path to reach the unguarded dereference. Reachability is gated only by the connected UDP socket's source-address filter unless CONFIG_LWM2M_DTLS_SUPPORT is enabled — which has no default — so in a NoSec deployment an on-path or address-spoofing attacker needs no credentials; the same sequen

    The CoAP link-format helper match_path_uri() in subsys/net/lib/coap/coap_link_format.c compares a registered resource path against the URI carried in a Uri-Query href= option. That URI is not NUL terminated, but the inner character loop advanced its index k once per path character without ever testing it against the option length len. When a registered path segment is longer than the supplied URI and the URI is a prefix of it, the loop reads uri[len] and beyond, past the end of the option value. The path is reached from coap_well_known_core_get_len() and coap_well_known_core_get() via match_queries_resource(), i.e. by any unauthenticated GET /.well-known/core?href=/<prefix> request to a device that serves /.well-known/core (for the CoAP server subsystem, CONFIG_COAP_SERVER_WELL_KNOWN_CORE, default y) and has at least one resource that declares struct coap_core_metadata attributes. The over-read does not reach the receive buffer. The well-known-core builders parse the query into a stack-local struct coap_option, whose value is a fixed array (value[12], or CONFIG_COAP_EXTENDED_OPTIONS_LEN_VALUE bytes) that the option bytes are copied into, so uri points into that copy. • Sep 28, 2026XS::Parse::Infix versions from 0.40 through 0.49 for Perl treat a number as an array reference.CVE-2026-85644 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5

    XS::Parse::Infix versions from 0.40 through 0.49 for Perl treat a number as an array reference. The wrapper function XS::Parse::Infix generates for a list-associative infix operator checks whether arguments are array references, but it tests using SvRV() rather than SvROK(). SvRV() reads a union slot that only holds a referent once SvROK(sv) is true, so the guard never validates that it is a reference. For an IV or NV that slot holds the number itself, SvRV() returns the caller's value and SvTYPE() dereferences it at offset 12. This will generally result in a segmentation fault. An application that hands the wrapper a list built from decoded input (for example, from JSON) lets whoever supplies a number in that list choose the address that the interpreter dereferences. An ordinary string's byte 12 is rarely SVt_PVAV so the guard croaks by luck, but an attacker-crafted string carrying 0x0b there passes, and the buffer is then used as an AV head, with AvARRAY taken from bytes 16-23 and its entries pushed onto the Perl stack as live SVs. A simple proof-of-concept uses the zip operator: use Syntax::Operator::Zip 'zip'; my @args = ([1], 2); zip(@args);

The buffer is sized as: round_up(value_size, 8) * num_possible_cpus() The update paths iterate over possible CPUs, but use the logical CPU ID to calculate the source offset: value + size * cpu This only works when possible CPU IDs are contiguous starting at zero. For example, with a possible CPU mask of 0,2-3, the buffer contains three slots corresponding to CPUs 0, 2, and 3. CPU2 is therefore expected to use slot 1 and CPU3 slot 2. Instead, the current code uses slots 2 and 3 respectively, causing incorrect per-CPU values and an out-of-bounds read from the update buffer for CPU3. The corresponding lookup paths already use a dense offset while iterating over possible CPUs. Do the same for the array, hash, and cgroup storage update paths, advancing the source offset once for each possible CPU. BPF_F_ALL_CPUS continues to use the same value for every CPU.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/amdxdna: reject a command chain that carries no commands A chain whose command_count is zero passes the payload length check, because struct_size(payload, data, 0) is just the header. The fill loop then does not run, so offset stays zero and the request is submitted with a zero-length buffer. On firmware without AIE2_NPU_COMMAND that ends at the opcode check, since op is still ERT_INVALID_CMD and aie2_get_chain_msg_op() answers MSG_OP_MAX_OPCODE. aie2_get_npu_chain_msg_op() answers MSG_OP_CHAIN_EXEC_NPU whatever it is given, so there the submission continues to drm_clflush_virt_range(cmd_buf, 0), which reads the byte before the buffer and faults on the vmap guard page. EXEC_CMD is reachable by any process that can open the render node. Reject the request instead.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Take trace_array reference when opening a tracer options file When a tracer option file is opened, it is passed a descriptor that points to an element on the trace_array's topts array. This element has information to find the trace array and other information. It uses this element to take a reference of the trace_array so that the trace_array does not get removed while this file is opened. Unfortunately, there's a race condition where the element itself could be freed by the removal of the instance the trace_array represents causing a use-after-free as this element that is used to find the trace_array to increment its reference counter is also freed when the instance is removed. To solve this, add a trace_array_tracer_options_get() helper function that will take the address of the element that is passed to the open function by the inode->i_private pointer and search all the trace_arrays under a lock to find the one that the element's address is in the range of the trace_arrays topts array elements. When a match happens, that trace_array's reference would be increased. Note, there's a race where if an

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usbusx2y: fix in04_last array size mismatch with in04_buf The in04_last array in struct usx2ydev is declared as char[24], but in04_buf is allocated as sizeof(struct us428_ctls) which is 21 bytes. In i_usx2y_in04_int(), when ctl_snapshot_last == -2 (initialization path): memcpy(usx2y->in04_last, usx2y->in04_buf, sizeof(usx2y->in04_last)); This copies 24 bytes from a 21-byte slab allocation, reading 3 bytes past the end of the source object. Introduce a USX2Y_IN04_SIZE constant defined as sizeof(struct us428_ctls) and use it consistently for the in04_last array, the in04_buf allocation, the URB transfer length, and the comparison loop, replacing the bare 24 and 21 literals throughout.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/drm_exec: fix up contended obj when num_objects is 0 drm_exec_prepare_array() silently returns success without calling drm_exec_lock_contended() when num_objects is zero. This breaks the invariant upheld by drm_exec_lock_obj(), where every entry point into the locking sequence must first attempt to lock any previously contended object before proceeding. Drivers that chain multiple drm_exec_prepare_array() calls per drm_exec_until_all_locked() iteration (e.g. amdgpu's userq signal/wait ioctls, which prepare separate read and write BO arrays) can pass an empty array for one of the two calls. If contention is hit while preparing the non-empty array, exec->contended is set and the loop retries; on retry, the empty-array call preceding it is a no-op that never clears exec->contended, so drm_exec_retry_on_contention() immediately jumps back to the top of the loop without ever reaching the call that would resolve the contention. This spins forever. Fix it by having drm_exec_prepare_array() call drm_exec_lock_contended() directly when num_objects is zero, so a pending contended object dont loop infinitely.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: reject userspace cifs.idmap descriptions cifs.idmap key descriptions carry authority-bearing fields (owner and group SIDs and uid/gid values in "os:"/"gs:"/"oi:"/"gi:" form) that the cifs.idmap upcall helper treats as kernel-originating inputs. Unlike its sibling cifs.spnego, the cifs.idmap key type has no vet_description hook, so userspace can create keys of this type through request_key(2)/add_key(2) and supply those fields without CIFS origin. A request_key(2) call with a non-NULL callout then drives a root usermodehelper upcall (/sbin/request-key -> cifs.idmap) that consumes the unvetted description in root context. Only accept cifs.idmap descriptions while CIFS is using its private root_cred to request the key. id_to_sid()/sid_to_id() already run under override_creds(root_cred), so the kernel-originated path is unaffected. This mirrors commit 3da1fdf4efbc ("smb: client: reject userspace cifs.spnego descriptions"), which applied the same restriction to cifs.spnego.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: validate connectionless PSM length Connectionless L2CAP frames carry a two-byte PSM at the start of the payload. l2cap_recv_frame() currently reads that PSM unconditionally after validating only the outer L2CAP length. A malformed connectionless frame with a zero- or one-byte payload can therefore make the parser read beyond the advertised skb payload and use tailroom bytes as part of the PSM. A VHCI-backed QEMU reproducer injected a one-byte connectionless payload and reached the unchecked read. Reject connectionless frames that cannot contain the PSM before reading or pulling it. This preserves all valid connectionless frames while dropping only structurally incomplete packets.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: add missing read barrier to rpc_status_get dumpit seqcount retry The hand-rolled seqcount-like protocol in nfsd_nl_rpc_status_get_dumpit() is missing a read memory barrier (smp_rmb) before its second counter check. The standard kernel read_seqcount_retry() includes smp_rmb() to ensure that all data reads complete before the counter is re-checked. Without this barrier, on weakly-ordered architectures (ARM, POWER), the CPU may reorder field reads past the second counter check, making the retry logic ineffective: it could observe a consistent counter pair while reading fields that have been concurrently modified by the writer. Add smp_rmb() before the second counter check to order the field reads ahead of it, matching the barrier semantics of the standard seqcount read-side. The begin-side smp_load_acquire() already pairs with the smp_store_release() in nfsd_dispatch(); with the smp_rmb() now ordering the field reads, the retry check no longer needs acquire semantics and reads the counter with a plain READ_ONCE(), as read_seqcount_retry() does. [ cel: Use READ_ONCE instead of smp_load_acquire() ]

    Dancer2 versions before 2.2.0 for Perl do not strip CR and LF from response header names in headers_to_array. The routine removes CR and LF from each header value but not from the name. A name carrying them therefore reaches the PSGI server intact. A server that does not validate keys writes it to the wire, so the bytes after the CRLF arrive as their own header line. The application has to derive the header name from request data, not just the value. An attacker who controls that data adds their own headers and splits the response.

    When a request to the Airflow core API carries both a session cookie and an explicit `Authorization: Bearer` token, Airflow resolves the caller from the cookie and ignores the bearer token, inverting the intended precedence of bearer over cookie. The request then executes -- and is recorded in the audit log -- as the cookie's principal rather than the identity the client explicitly presented. Only Apache Airflow 3.3.0 and 3.3.1 are affected. Earlier releases do not contain the code path that caches the cookie-derived user, and are not vulnerable. Exploiting this requires an attacker to first place a valid session cookie of their own into the victim's browser or client: for example by cookie tossing from a sibling subdomain, through cross-site scripting in a separate application sharing a parent domain, or via a shared workstation. Deployments that host the Airflow UI on a domain shared with other applications are therefore the most exposed; a deployment on a dedicated domain with no co-hosted applications is not reachable this way. The consequence is principal confusion and misattributed audit records rather than a direct privilege escalation. Users of 3.3.0 or 3.3.1 should upgr
