OpenBSD Kernel Multicast Routing Uninitialized Memory Information Disclosure Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of OpenBSD Kernel. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the implementation of multicast routing. The issue results from the lack of proper initialization of memory prior to accessing it. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel. . Was ZDI-CAN-16112.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/int340x_thermal: handle data_vault when the value is ZERO_SIZE_PTR In some case, the GDDV returns a package with a buffer which has zero length. Under load, synchronize_net() can last between 200 usec and 5 ms. KASAN seems to agree as well.

  • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: Fix writeback data corruption cifs writeback doesn't correctly handle the case whereCVE-2024-27036 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: Fix writeback data corruption cifs writeback doesn't correctly handle the case where cifs_extend_writeback() hits a point where it is considering an additional folio, but this would overrun the wsize - at which point it drops out of the xarray scanning loop and calls xas_pause(). The problem is that xas_pause() advances the loop counter - thereby skipping that page. What needs to happen is for xas_reset() to be called any time we decide we don't want to process the page we're looking at, but rather send the request we are building and start a new one. Fix this by copying and adapting the netfslib writepages code as a temporary measure, with cifs writeback intending to be offloaded to netfslib in the near future. This also fixes the issue with the use of filemap_get_folios_tag() causing retry of a bunch of pages which the extender already dealt with. This can be tested by creating, say, a 64K file somewhere not on cifs (otherwise copy-offload may get underfoot), mounting a cifs share with a wsize of 64000, copying the file to it and then comparing the original file and the copy: dd if=/dev/uran

  • Apr 19, 2024Owncast is an open source, self-hosted, decentralized, single user live video streaming and chat server.CVE-2024-31450 · Other software · owncast · reported by GitHubLow 2.7

Owncast is an open source, self-hosted, decentralized, single user live video streaming and chat server. The Owncast application exposes an administrator API at the URL /api/admin. The emoji/delete endpoint of said API allows administrators to delete custom emojis, which are saved on disk. The parameter name is taken from the JSON request and directly appended to the filepath that points to the emoji to delete. By using path traversal sequences (../), attackers with administrative privileges can exploit this endpoint to delete arbitrary files on the system, outside of the emoji directory. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.1.3.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/srpt: Do not register event handler until srpt device is fully setup Upon rare occasions, KASAN reports a use-after-free Write in srpt_refresh_port(). • Apr 12, 2024While an Apache Kafka cluster is being migrated from ZooKeeper mode to KRaft mode, in some cases ACLs will not be correctly enforced.CVE-2024-27309 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.4

While an Apache Kafka cluster is being migrated from ZooKeeper mode to KRaft mode, in some cases ACLs will not be correctly enforced. Two preconditions are needed to trigger the bug: 1. The administrator decides to remove an ACL 2. The resource associated with the removed ACL continues to have two or more other ACLs associated with it after the removal. When those two preconditions are met, Kafka will treat the resource as if it had only one ACL associated with it after the removal, rather than the two or more that would be correct. The incorrect condition is cleared by removing all brokers in ZK mode, or by adding a new ACL to the affected resource. Once the migration is completed, there is no metadata loss (the ACLs all remain). The full impact depends on the ACLs in use. If only ALLOW ACLs were configured during the migration, the impact would be limited to availability impact. if DENY ACLs were configured, the impact could include confidentiality and integrity impact depending on the ACLs configured, as the DENY ACLs might be ignored due to this vulnerability during the migration period.

Fix this to initialize dmactl to NULL. One could argue that modern compilers will set this to zero, but it is useful to keep this initialized as per the same way in functions __lpass_platform_codec_intf_init and lpass_cdc_dma_daiops_hw_params. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: sh: aica: reorder cleanup operations to avoid UAF bugs The dreamcastcard->timer could schedule the spu_dma_work and the spu_dma_work could also arm the dreamcastcard->timer. When the snd_pcm_substream is closing, the aica_channel will be deallocated. But it could still be dereferenced in the worker thread. The reason is that del_timer() will return directly regardless of whether the timer handler is running or not and the worker could be rescheduled in the timer handler. As a result, the UAF bug will happen. The racy situation is shown below: (Thread 1) | (Thread 2) snd_aicapcm_pcm_close() | ... | run_spu_dma() //worker | mod_timer() flush_work() | del_timer() | aica_period_elapsed() //timer kfree(dreamcastcard->channel) | schedule_work() | run_spu_dma() //worker ... | dreamcastcard->channel-> //USE In order to mitigate this bug and other possible corner cases, call mod_timer() conditionally

A vulnerability in the multicast DNS (mDNS) gateway feature of Cisco IOS XE Software for Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. This vulnerability is due to improper management of mDNS client entries. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by connecting to the wireless network and sending a continuous stream of specific mDNS packets. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the wireless controller to have high CPU utilization, which could lead to access points (APs) losing their connection to the controller and result in a DoS condition.
