Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: reject a read that transferred too few bytes nvme_tcp_recv_data() completes a reCVE-2026-89480 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: reject a read that transferred too few bytes nvme_tcp_recv_data() completes a request once the current C2HData PDU has been consumed. Nothing compares the total bytes received against the length the command asked for: struct nvme_tcp_request has no receive-side counter, queue->data_remaining is per queue, and blk_mq_end_request() completes for blk_rq_bytes(rq) unconditionally with no residual concept anywhere above. A controller can therefore answer a 4096-byte read with 512 bytes and have it reported as a complete read; user space then gets 4096 bytes of which 3584 are whatever was already in the page. I reproduced that with a test target. Count the bytes received and refuse to complete a successful read whose count does not match, at the two NVME_TCP_F_DATA_SUCCESS paths and in nvme_tcp_process_nvme_cqe(). The success test shifts req->status right by one, because the driver keeps the wire value there and shifts it on completion, so the check must see what the completion path will see. Only REQ_OP_READ is checked, because there the length comes from the sectors the request covers; a passthrough comma

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: fix usage of page_frag_cache nvme uses page_frag_cache to preallocate PDU for eaCVE-2026-80862 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: fix usage of page_frag_cache nvme uses page_frag_cache to preallocate PDU for each preallocated request of block device. Block devices are created in parallel threads, consequently page_frag_cache is used in not thread-safe manner. That leads to incorrect refcounting of backstore pages and premature free. That can be catched by !sendpage_ok inside network stack: WARNING: CPU: 7 PID: 467 at ../net/core/skbuff.c:6931 skb_splice_from_iter+0xfa/0x310. tcp_sendmsg_locked+0x782/0xce0 tcp_sendmsg+0x27/0x40 sock_sendmsg+0x8b/0xa0 nvme_tcp_try_send_cmd_pdu+0x149/0x2a0 Then random panic may occur. Fix that by serializing the usage of page_frag_cache.

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: pci-epf: put CQ ref on create_cq mapping failure nvmet_pci_epf_create_cq() calls nvCVE-2026-80821 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: pci-epf: put CQ ref on create_cq mapping failure nvmet_pci_epf_create_cq() calls nvmet_cq_create(), which takes a reference on the controller and installs the completion queue. If the subsequent PCI address-space mapping fails or returns a too-small partial mapping, the function jumps to err_internal / err_unmap_queue without calling nvmet_cq_put(). The matching put in nvmet_pci_epf_delete_cq() is gated on NVMET_PCI_EPF_Q_LIVE, which is only set after the mapping succeeds, so teardown never releases these references. A remote PCI host that drives Create IO CQ commands with a failing PRP1/pci_addr therefore leaks the CQ and a controller reference on each attempt. Drop the CQ reference on the mapping-failure paths. The err_internal and err_unmap_queue labels are only reachable after nvmet_cq_create() has succeeded, so this pairs the create/put correctly.

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: fix NULL pointer dereference in nvmet_execute_identify_nslist() When a host issues CVE-2026-80813 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: fix NULL pointer dereference in nvmet_execute_identify_nslist() When a host issues an Identify command with CNS 07h (Active Namespace ID List for a specific I/O Command Set), nvmet_execute_identify_nslist() is called with match_css set. The command-set filter dereferences req->ns, but this handler never calls nvmet_req_find_ns(), so req->ns is always NULL (nvmet_req_init() resets it to NULL). As soon as an enabled namespace with an NSID greater than the requested value exists, req->ns->csi dereferences a NULL pointer and oopses. Besides the crash, the comparison is logically wrong: to filter the list by command set it must test the command set of the namespace being iterated, not a single fixed value. Use the loop variable ns->csi.

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: zero the AUTH_RECEIVE response buffer nvmet_execute_auth_receive() allocates tCVE-2026-80791 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: zero the AUTH_RECEIVE response buffer nvmet_execute_auth_receive() allocates the response buffer with kmalloc() sized by the host-supplied AUTH_RECEIVE allocation length, but the DH-HMAC-CHAP builders write only a fixed-size message into it. The full allocation length is then copied to the wire by nvmet_copy_to_sgl(), so a remote initiator receives the bytes past the built message -- up to nearly a page of uninitialized slab -- during the pre-authentication handshake. Allocate the buffer with kzalloc() so the unwritten tail is zeroed before it is sent; conforming responses are unaffected.

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-fc: fix invalid free in LS IOD error path nvmet_fc_alloc_ls_iodlist() advances iod wCVE-2026-80790 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-fc: fix invalid free in LS IOD error path nvmet_fc_alloc_ls_iodlist() advances iod while initializing the LS IOD array. If an rqstbuf allocation or response buffer DMA mapping fails, the unwind loop decrements iod past the start of the array. The final kfree(iod) therefore frees an address before the allocated object. This can be reproduced with nvme-fcloop and failslab by setting fail-nth to 6 before creating a target port. KASAN reports: BUG: KASAN: invalid-free in nvmet_fc_register_targetport Free of addr ffff88816cf8ff48 by task nvmet_fail_nth/9552 Free the original allocation base stored in tgtport->iod instead. With this fix applied, the same sysfs write with fail-nth=6 returns -ENOMEM without any KASAN report.

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: bound SGL data length before allocating command buffers nvmet_tcp_map_data() reCVE-2026-80789 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: bound SGL data length before allocating command buffers nvmet_tcp_map_data() reads the host-controlled 32-bit sgl->length and, for the in-capsule offset descriptor (type 0x01), checks it against port->inline_data_size before use. Any other SGL descriptor type -- including the non-inline transport SGL data-block descriptor (type (NVME_TRANSPORT_SGL_DATA_DESC << 4) | NVME_SGL_FMT_TRANSPORT_A, the type a real host uses for out-of-capsule writes) skips that check entirely and falls straight through to: cmd->req.sg = sgl_alloc(len, GFP_KERNEL, &cmd->req.sg_cnt); with len taken directly from the wire, unbounded up to 4 GiB. nvmet_req_init() only parses the command and never inspects sgl->length, and nvmet_check_transfer_len() -- the only other place transfer_len is validated -- runs later, from req->execute(), after the allocation has already happened. For a write command the target responds with an R2T and parks the command waiting for the host to send the data; if the host (or an unauthenticated peer that simply never follows up) never does, the sgl_alloc() buffer stays resident for the life of the com

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: Do not WARN on remotely-controlled oversized SGL allocations When fuzzing the nvme target code, I tripped a kernel warning in nvmet_tcp_map_data() because the length passed into the allocator is controlled by the remote initiator. A remote initiator that sends a command with an SGL claiming a huge number, can create a scatterlist and iovec allocation of over 1 million entries, which causes the backing kmalloc call to exceed MAX_PAGE_ORDER and then the page allocator will trip on a WARN_ON_ONCE_GFP() message: WARNING: mm/page_alloc.c:5280 __alloc_frozen_pages_noprof Workqueue: nvmet_tcp_wq nvmet_tcp_io_work ... sgl_alloc_order nvmet_tcp_map_data nvmet_tcp_try_recv_pdu As it's never good to trip a kernel warning remotely due to many systems having panic-on-warn enabled, let's silence it by just add GFP_NOWARN to the allocation flags.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet: pci-epf: fix use-after-free in nvmet_pci_epf_exec_iod_work() nvmet_pci_epf_exec_iod_work() submits an I/O command with req->execute() and then waits for the command to complete and transfers the data back to the host. This wait is not needed for commands that do not transfer data from the device to the host. To decide whether that wait is needed, it reads iod->data_len and iod->dma_dir after calling req->execute(). However, once req->execute() is called, the command may complete asynchronously on another CPU. For commands that do not require a device-to-host data transfer, nvmet_pci_epf_queue_response() calls nvmet_pci_epf_complete_iod() directly, which can free the iod before it reads iod->data_len and iod->dma_dir, resulting in the KFENCE use-after- free: BUG: KFENCE: use-after-free read in nvmet_pci_epf_exec_iod_work+0x288/0x798 [nvmet_pci_epf] Use-after-free read at 0x00000000fdfa6d03 (in kfence-#63): nvmet_pci_epf_exec_iod_work+0x288/0x798 [nvmet_pci_epf] process_one_work+0x15c/0x4f0 worker_thread+0x18c/0x30c kthread+0x130/0x140 ret_from_fork+0x10/0x20 kfence-#63: 0x00000000e3de0e71-0

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: fix page fragment cache leak in error path In nvmet_tcp_alloc_queue(), when a cCVE-2026-74386 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: fix page fragment cache leak in error path In nvmet_tcp_alloc_queue(), when a connection is closed during the allocation process (e.g., nvmet_tcp_set_queue_sock() returns -ENOTCONN), the error handling jumps to out_destroy_sq and then to out_ida_remove without draining the page fragment cache. Although nvmet_tcp_free_cmd() is called in some error paths to release individual page fragments, the underlying page cache reference held by queue->pf_cache is never released. The first allocation using pf_cache is the call to nvmet_tcp_alloc_cmd() for queue->connect, which happens after ida_alloc() returns successfully. This results in a page leak each time a connection fails during allocation, which could lead to memory exhaustion over time if connections are repeatedly opened and closed. Fix this by calling page_frag_cache_drain() before freeing the queue structure in the out_ida_remove label.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: check return value of nvmet_tcp_set_queue_sock The return value of nvmet_tcp_set_queue_sock() is currently ignored in nvmet_tcp_tls_handshake_done(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-multipath: fix flex array size in struct nvme_ns_head struct nvme_ns_head contains a flexible array member, current_path[], which is indexed using the NUMA node ID: head->current_path[numa_node_id()] The structure is currently allocated as: size = sizeof(struct nvme_ns_head) + (num_possible_nodes() * sizeof(struct nvme_ns *)); head = kzalloc(size, GFP_KERNEL); This allocation assumes that NUMA node IDs are sequential and densely packed from 0 .. num_possible_nodes() - 1. While this assumption holds on many systems, it is not always true on some architectures such as powerpc. On some powerpc systems, NUMA node IDs can be sparse. For example: NUMA: NUMA node(s): 6 NUMA node0 CPU(s): 80-159 NUMA node8 CPU(s): 0-79 NUMA node252 CPU(s): NUMA node253 CPU(s): NUMA node254 CPU(s): NUMA node255 CPU(s): That is, the possible/online NUMA node IDs are: 0, 8, 252, 253, 254, 255 In this case: num_possible_nodes() = 6 So memory is allocated for only 6 entries in current_path[]. However, the array is later indexed using the actual NUMA node ID. As a result, accesses suc

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: fix out-of-bounds access in nvme_setup_descriptor_pools nvme_setup_descriptor_pools() indexes dev->descriptor_pools[] using the numa_node forwarded from hctx->numa_node by its single caller, nvme_init_hctx_common(). On a non-NUMA kernel hctx->numa_node is NUMA_NO_NODE (-1). Because the parameter was declared 'unsigned', the value becomes UINT_MAX and the index walks off the array (sized to nr_node_ids), faulting during nvme_alloc_ns() and leaving the namespace without a /dev node. Reproduces on any NVMe controller probed by a CONFIG_NUMA=n kernel: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffff889101603d38 RIP: 0010:nvme_init_hctx_common+0x5a/0x190 [nvme] Call Trace: nvme_init_hctx+0x10/0x20 [nvme] nvme_alloc_ns+0x9e/0xa10 [nvme_core] nvme_scan_ns+0x301/0x3b0 [nvme_core] nvme_scan_ns_async+0x23/0x30 [nvme_core] Switch the parameter to int and fall back to node 0 when it is NUMA_NO_NODE; node 0 is always present.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: nVMX: Move vTPR vs. TPR Threshold consistency check into "normal" checks Move the off-by-default consistency check for vmcs12.tpr_threshold vs. the virtual APIC vTPR into the "normal" controls checks, as waiting until KVM has loaded some amount of state is unnecessary and actively dangerous. Specifically, failure to unwind vmcs01.GUEST_CR3 to KVM's value when EPT is disabled results in KVM running L1 with an L1-controlled CR3, not with KVM's CR3! Alternatively, KVM could simply reset the MMU to force a reload of vmcs01.GUEST_CR3, but the _only_ reason the check was shoved into a "late" flow was to wait until the vmcs12 pages were retrieved. Rather than build up more crusty code, simply access vTPR using a regular guest memory access (performance isn't a concern). To circumvent the restrictions that led to KVM deferring nested_get_vmcs12_pages(), (a) use a VM-scoped API to read guest memory so that it always hits non-SMM memslots (for RSM), and (b) skip the check (since its off-by-default anyways) when the vCPU doesn't want to run, i.e. when userspace is restoring/stuffing state. If reading guest memory f

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: reject short AUTH_RECEIVE buffers nvmet_execute_auth_receive() trusts the AUTH_RECEIVE allocation length after checking only that it is nonzero and matches the transfer length. In the SUCCESS1 and FAILURE1/default states, that lets a remote NVMe-oF initiator reach the fixed-size DH-HMAC-CHAP response builders with a kmalloc() buffer shorter than the response, so nvmet_auth_success1() and nvmet_auth_failure1() write past the allocation; both only WARN_ON the short length and then format the message anyway. Impact: A remote NVMe-oF initiator with access to an auth-enabled target can trigger a 16-byte heap out-of-bounds write via a one-byte AUTH_RECEIVE allocation length. Compute the minimum response length for the current DH-HMAC-CHAP step in nvmet_auth_receive_data_len() and report a zero data length when the host-supplied allocation length is shorter, so the existing zero-length check in nvmet_execute_auth_receive() rejects the command before any builder runs. The SUCCESS1 minimum is sizeof(struct nvmf_auth_dhchap_success1_data) plus the HMAC hash length, because the response hash is written into th

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-rdma: handle inline data with a nonzero offset nvmet_rdma_use_inline_sg() maps the host-controlled inline data offset into the per-command inline scatterlist. The bounds check admits any offset with off + len <= inline_data_size, but the mapping still assumes the data begins in the first inline page: sg->offset = off; sg->length = min_t(int, len, PAGE_SIZE - off); When a port is configured with inline_data_size > PAGE_SIZE (settable up to max(SZ_16K, PAGE_SIZE)), an offset in (PAGE_SIZE, inline_data_size] makes "PAGE_SIZE - off" underflow, so sg->length is set to ~4 GiB and the block backend reads far past the first inline page. num_pages(len) also ignores the offset, so an in-bounds offset whose [off, off+len) span crosses a page boundary under-counts the scatterlist. Map the offset properly: split it into a page index and an in-page offset, start the scatterlist at that page, and size the page count from page_off + len. Because the request scatterlist may now start at inline_sg[page_idx] rather than inline_sg[0], generalize the inline-SGL identity test in nvmet_rdma_release_rsp() to a range test;

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: nVMX: Put vmcs12 pages if nested VM-Enter fails due to invalid guest state Put all vmcs12 pages if KVM synthesizes a nested VM-Exit due to invalid guest while emulating VMLAUNCH or VMRESUME. The invalid guest state path doesn't use nested_vmx_vmexit() as that API is intended to be used if and only if L2 is active, and the open coded equivalent neglects to put the vmcs12 pages. Failure to put the vmcs12 pages leaks any pinned pages (and/or mappings) if L1 retries VMLAUNCH/VMRESUME. Note, the !from_vmenter scenario doesn't suffer the same problem, as vmx_get_nested_state_pages() only gets/pins/maps the vmcs12 pages if L2 is active, i.e. if a "full" VM-Exit is guaranteed before KVM will retry getting vmcs12 pages.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: qca: fix NVM tag length underflow in TLV parser In the TLV_TYPE_NVM branch of qca_tlv_check_data() the tag loop bound is "while (idx < length - sizeof(struct tlv_type_nvm))". "length" is a signed int from the firmware TLV header and sizeof(struct tlv_type_nvm) is a size_t (12), so "length" is converted to size_t and any firmware-supplied "length" < 12 makes the subtraction wrap to a huge value. The loop body then reads a 12-byte struct tlv_type_nvm past the end of the short vmalloc'd firmware buffer (and the EDL_TAG_ID_* handlers can write past it). Rewrite the bound as "idx + sizeof(struct tlv_type_nvm) <= length"; both operands are non-negative, so it no longer underflows and a "length" too small for one record correctly skips the loop. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: Fix potential UAF when ddgst mismatch Shivam Kumar found via vulnerability testing: When data digest is enabled on an NVMe/TCP connection and a digest mismatch occurs on a non-final H2C_DATA PDU during an R2T-based data transfer, the digest error handler in nvmet_tcp_try_recv_ddgst() calls nvmet_req_uninit() — which performs percpu_ref_put() on the submission queue — but does NOT mark the command as completed. It does not set cqe->status, does not modify rbytes_done, and does not clear any flag. When the subsequent fatal error triggers queue teardown, nvmet_tcp_uninit_data_in_cmds() iterates all commands, checks nvmet_tcp_need_data_in() for each one, and finds that the already-uninited command still appears to need data (because rbytes_done < transfer_len and cqe->status == 0). It therefore calls nvmet_req_uninit() a second time on the same command — a double percpu_ref_put against a single percpu_ref_get.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: check INIT_FAILED before nvmet_req_uninit in digest error path In nvmet_tcp_try_recv_ddgst(), when a data digest mismatch is detected, nvmet_req_uninit() is called unconditionally. However, if the command arrived via the nvmet_tcp_handle_req_failure() path, nvmet_req_init() had returned false and percpu_ref_tryget_live() was never executed. The unconditional percpu_ref_put() inside nvmet_req_uninit() then causes a refcount underflow, leading to a WARNING in percpu_ref_switch_to_atomic_rcu, a use-after-free diagnostic, and eventually a permanent workqueue deadlock. Check cmd->flags & NVMET_TCP_F_INIT_FAILED before calling nvmet_req_uninit(), matching the existing pattern in nvmet_tcp_execute_request().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-auth: validate reply message payload bounds against transfer length nvmet_auth_reply() accesses the variable-length rval[] array using attacker-controlled hl (hash length) and dhvlen (DH value length) fields without verifying they fit within the allocated buffer of tl bytes. A malicious NVMe-oF initiator can craft a DHCHAP_REPLY message with a small transfer length but large hl/dhvlen values, causing out-of-bounds heap reads when the target processes the DH public key (rval + 2*hl) or performs the host response memcmp. With DH authentication configured, the OOB pointer is passed directly to sg_init_one() and read by crypto_kpp_compute_shared_secret(), reaching up to 526 bytes past the buffer. This is exploitable pre-authentication. Add bounds validation ensuring sizeof(*data) + 2*hl + dhvlen <= tl before any access to the variable-length fields. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) widen blackbox-info buffer to I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX adm1266_nvmem_read_blackbox() declares a 5-byte stack buffer and passes it to i2c_smbus_read_block_data() to retrieve the 4-byte BLACKBOX_INFO response. i2c_smbus_read_block_data() does not honour caller buffer sizes -- it memcpy()s data.block[0] bytes from the SMBus transaction (where data.block[0] is the length byte returned by the slave device, up to I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX = 32): memcpy(values, &data.block[1], data.block[0]); If the device returns any block length above 5, the call overflows the caller's 5-byte stack buffer before the post-call if (ret != 4) return -EIO; check has a chance to reject the response. Widen the local buffer to I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX so the helper has room for any well-formed SMBus block response, matching the convention used by the other i2c_smbus_read_block_data() callers in this driver.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) reject implausible blackbox record_count adm1266_nvmem_read_blackbox() loops over a record_count that comes straight from byte 3 of the BLACKBOX_INFO response. The destination buffer is data->dev_mem, sized for the nvmem cell's declared 2048 bytes (ADM1266_BLACKBOX_MAX_RECORDS * ADM1266_BLACKBOX_SIZE = 32 * 64). A device that reports a record_count greater than 32 -- whether due to firmware bugs, bus corruption, or a non-responsive slave returning 0xff -- would walk read_buff past the end of the dev_mem allocation on the trailing iterations. Cap record_count at ADM1266_BLACKBOX_MAX_RECORDS (introduced here) before entering the loop and return -EIO on any larger value, so a malformed BLACKBOX_INFO response cannot drive the loop out of bounds.

This leads to a use-after-free if nvme_free_host_mem() is called twice in the same error path. This can happen during nvme_probe() when nvme_setup_host_mem() succeeds in allocating the HMB (setting dev->hmb_sgt) but nvme_set_host_mem() fails with an I/O error: nvme_setup_host_mem() nvme_alloc_host_mem_single() -> sets dev->hmb_sgt nvme_set_host_mem() -> fails with -EIO nvme_free_host_mem() -> frees hmb_sgt, but does NOT NULL it return error nvme_probe() error path: nvme_free_host_mem() -> dev->hmb_sgt is stale, use-after-free The second call dereferences the freed sgt, causing a NULL pointer dereference in iommu_dma_free_noncontiguous() when it accesses sgt->sgl->dma_address (the backing memory has been freed and zeroed). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/handshake: Use spin_lock_bh for hn_lock nvmet_tcp_state_change(), a socket callback that runs in BH context, can reach handshake_req_cancel() via nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() and tls_handshake_cancel(). handshake_req_cancel() acquires hn->hn_lock with plain spin_lock(). If a process-context thread on the same CPU holds hn->hn_lock when a softirq invokes the cancel path, the lock attempt deadlocks. This is the only caller that invokes tls_handshake_cancel() from BH context; every other consumer calls it from process context. Deferring the cancel to process context in the NVMe target is not straightforward: nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() must call tls_handshake_cancel() atomically with its state transition to DISCONNECTING. If the cancel were deferred, the handshake completion callback could fire in the window before the cancel runs, observe the unexpected state, and return without dropping its kref on the queue. Reworking that interlock is considerably more invasive than hardening the handshake lock. Convert all hn->hn_lock acquisitions from spin_lock/spin_unlock to spin_lock_bh/spin_unlock_bh

Jul 15, 2026Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions.CVE-2026-15921 · Other software · nvm-sh · reported by 7ffcee3d-2c14-4c3e-b844-86c6a321a158Low 2.1
Node Version Manager (nvm) is a POSIX-compliant shell function for managing multiple node.js versions. In versions 0.32.1 through 0.40.5, `nvm ls-remote` (and other commands that refresh remote LTS aliases, such as `nvm install --lts`) parse the node.js mirror's `index.tab` and use each release's LTS codename field as an alias filename without validating it. A malicious, compromised, or man-in-the-middled mirror can return an LTS codename containing path-traversal sequences such as `../../../.bashrc`, causing nvm to write the associated version string to a path outside `$NVM_DIR/alias`. With the default layout (`$NVM_DIR` is `~/.nvm`), this can create or overwrite files in the user's home directory, including shell startup files, which can lead to code execution in a later shell session. Exploitation requires the victim to use a hostile mirror -- via a compromised mirror or CDN, a network man-in-the-middle, or a maliciously configured `NVM_NODEJS_ORG_MIRROR`/`NVM_IOJS_ORG_MIRROR` -- and to run an affected command. Version 0.40.6 validates remote LTS codenames as safe alias filenames and rejects `..` path components when writing alias files.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: propagate nvmet_tcp_build_pdu_iovec() errors to its callers Currently, when nvmet_tcp_build_pdu_iovec() detects an out-of-bounds PDU length or offset, it triggers nvmet_tcp_fatal_error(cmd->queue) and returns early. However, because the function returns void, the callers are entirely unaware that a fatal error has occurred and that the cmd->recv_msg.msg_iter was left uninitialized. Callers such as nvmet_tcp_handle_h2c_data_pdu() proceed to blindly overwrite the queue state with queue->rcv_state = NVMET_TCP_RECV_DATA Consequently, the socket receiving loop may attempt to read incoming network data into the uninitialized iterator. Fix this by shifting the error handling responsibility to the callers.

Jun 4, 2026nvm (Node Version Manager) through 0.40.4 executes arbitrary commands from version strings supplied by the configured Node.js/io.js mirror.CVE-2026-10796 · Other software · nvm-sh · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5
nvm (Node Version Manager) through 0.40.4 executes arbitrary commands from version strings supplied by the configured Node.js/io.js mirror. Commands such as `nvm install` read the available versions from the mirror's index.tab and use the selected version, without sanitization, to build download URLs and shell/awk commands. Two sinks are affected by the same untrusted input: nvm_download() built a curl/wget command string and ran it with `eval`, so a version field containing command substitution (for example $(id)) was executed by the local shell; and nvm_get_checksum() interpolated the version-derived download slug into an awk program, so a crafted version could execute arbitrary commands via awk's system(). An attacker who controls the configured mirror, supplies mirror content to a user or CI on a non-default mirror, or machine-in-the-middles a non-TLS mirror can ∴ run arbitrary commands with the privileges of the user running nvm. The default mirror (https://nodejs.org over TLS) is not affected. Fixed on master (pending the next tagged release) by passing every argument as a literal argv element instead of using eval, by passing the value to awk as data via -v instead of interp

May 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: fix race between ICReq handling and queue teardown nvmet_tcp_handle_icreq() updCVE-2026-46135 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvmet-tcp: fix race between ICReq handling and queue teardown nvmet_tcp_handle_icreq() updates queue->state after sending an Initialization Connection Response (ICResp), but it does so without serializing against target-side queue teardown. If an NVMe/TCP host sends an Initialization Connection Request (ICReq) and immediately closes the connection, target-side teardown may start in softirq context before io_work drains the already buffered ICReq. In that case, nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() sets queue->state to NVMET_TCP_Q_DISCONNECTING and drops the queue reference under state_lock. If io_work later processes that ICReq, nvmet_tcp_handle_icreq() can still overwrite the state back to NVMET_TCP_Q_LIVE. That defeats the DISCONNECTING-state guard in nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() and allows a later socket state change to re-enter teardown and issue a second kref_put() on an already released queue. The ICResp send failure path has the same problem. If teardown has already moved the queue to DISCONNECTING, a send error can still overwrite the state with NVMET_TCP_Q_FAILED, again reopening the window for a s

May 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpt3sas: Limit NVMe request size to 2 MiB The HBA firmware reports NVMe MDTS values CVE-2026-46105 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpt3sas: Limit NVMe request size to 2 MiB The HBA firmware reports NVMe MDTS values based on the underlying drive capability. However, because the driver allocates a fixed 4K buffer for the PRP list, accommodating at most 512 entries, the driver supports a maximum I/O transfer size of 2 MiB. Limit max_hw_sectors to the smaller of the reported MDTS and the 2 MiB driver limit to prevent issuing oversized I/O that may lead to a kernel oops.

May 8, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: Fix slab-out-of-bounds in nvme_dbbuf_set dev->online_queues is a count incrementCVE-2026-43449 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: Fix slab-out-of-bounds in nvme_dbbuf_set dev->online_queues is a count incremented in nvme_init_queue. Thus, valid indices are 0 through dev->online_queues − 1. This patch fixes the loop condition to ensure the index stays within the valid range. Index 0 is excluded because it is the admin queue. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: Fix race bug in nvme_poll_irqdisable() In the following scenario, pdev can be disabled between (1) and (3) by (2). This sets pdev->msix_enabled = 0. Then, pci_irq_vector() will return MSI-X IRQ(>15) for (1) whereas return INTx IRQ(<=15) for (2). This causes IRQ warning because it tries to enable INTx IRQ that has never been disabled before. To fix this, save IRQ number into a local variable and ensure disable_irq() and enable_irq() operate on the same IRQ number. Even if pci_free_irq_vectors() frees the IRQ concurrently, disable_irq() and enable_irq() on a stale IRQ number is still valid and safe, and the depth accounting reamins balanced. task 1: nvme_poll_irqdisable() disable_irq(pci_irq_vector(pdev, nvmeq->cq_vector)) ...(1) enable_irq(pci_irq_vector(pdev, nvmeq->cq_vector)) ...(3) task 2: nvme_reset_work() nvme_dev_disable() pdev->msix_enable = 0; ...(2) crash log: ------------[ cut here ]------------ Unbalanced enable for IRQ 10 WARNING: kernel/irq/manage.c:753 at __enable_irq+0x102/0x190 kernel/irq/manage.c:753, CPU#1: kworker/1:0H/26 Modules linked in: CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 26 Comm
