  • Sep 22, 2026Netdata is an open source observability tool.CVE-2026-83597 · Other software · netdata · reported by GitHubHigh 7

Netdata is an open source observability tool. From version 2.0.0 until 2.10.4, Netdata Windows Agent MSI repair launches powershell.exe and wevtutil.exe as elevated interactive processes in the initiating user's desktop session. A low-privileged local user who triggers repair can interact with or hijack those visible process windows to execute arbitrary commands with SYSTEM privileges. This issue is fixed in stable version 2.10.4.

  • Sep 22, 2026Netdata is an open source observability tool.CVE-2026-83603 · Other software · netdata · reported by GitHubHigh 8.4

Netdata is an open source observability tool. Prior to 2.10.4, the setuid-root ndsudo helper command fail2ban-client-status-socket in src/collectors/utils/ndsudo.c accepts a caller-controlled --socket_path from the low-privileged netdata service account. The account can direct root fail2ban-client to a malicious UNIX socket, and fail2ban/client/csocket.py CSocket.receive() passes the returned data to pickle.loads(), allowing attacker-controlled code to execute as root on systems with fail2ban-client installed. This issue is fixed in version 2.10.4 and nightly build 2.10.0-782-nightly.

  • Sep 22, 2026Netdata is an open source observability tool.CVE-2026-83602 · Other software · netdata · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Netdata is an open source observability tool. From 2.0.0 until 2.11.0, Netdata registers /api/v3/settings in src/web/api/v3/web_api_v3.c with HTTP_ACL_NOCHECK and HTTP_ACCESS_ANONYMOUS_DATA, causing unauthenticated PUT requests handled by src/web/api/v3/api_v3_settings.c to bypass operator-configured allow dashboard from IP restrictions. A network-reachable caller can persist attacker-controlled JSON in {varlib}/settings/default.json, manipulate its version counter, and use repeated near-20 MiB writes to consume disk space, although the file does not control collection or security policy. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.0.

  • Sep 22, 2026Netdata is an open source observability tool.CVE-2026-83601 · Other software · netdata · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Netdata is an open source observability tool. Prior to 2.10.4, an authenticated child agent can send an oversized DIMENSION SLOT value that str2ull_encoded passes to pluginsd_rrddim_put_to_slot in src/plugins.d/pluginsd_internals.h without an upper bound. prd_array_create in src/database/rrdset-pluginsd-array.h can then wrap the size_t allocation calculation while retaining the original large array size, causing the subsequent initialization loop to write beyond the undersized heap allocation and crash the parent agent. This issue is fixed in version 2.10.4 and nightly build 2.10.0-782-nightly.

Netdata is an open source observability tool. Prior to 2.10.4, an authenticated child agent can send an oversized CHART SLOT value that str2ull_encoded passes to pluginsd_rrdset_cache_put_to_slot in src/plugins.d/pluginsd_internals.h. The accepted slot drives reallocz to request an approximately 16 GiB chart-pointer array, and allocation failure invokes fatal and aborts the parent Netdata agent, repeatedly disabling centralized monitoring while stream access persists. This issue is fixed in version 2.10.4 and nightly build 2.10.0-782-nightly.

  • Sep 22, 2026Netdata is an open source observability tool.CVE-2026-83599 · Other software · netdata · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Netdata is an open source observability tool. Prior to 2.11.0, Netdata's unauthenticated WebSocket server negotiates permessage-deflate before authentication, and src/web/websocket/websocket-compression.c allows websocket_client_decompress_message() to grow decompressed output toward WS_MAX_DECOMPRESSED_SIZE without enforcing a compressed-to-decompressed ratio. Small highly compressed frames can therefore cause large server-side allocations, and repeated concurrent connections can exhaust memory and terminate monitoring. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.0.

Netdata is an open source observability tool. From rom 2.0.0 until 2.10.4, during Netdata Windows Agent MSI repair, powershell.exe runs as SYSTEM without -NoProfile and loads %USERPROFILE%\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Microsoft.PowerShell_profile.ps1 from the low-privileged user who initiated repair. Commands placed in that profile before repair therefore execute with SYSTEM privileges. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.10.4.

  • Sep 22, 2026Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline.CVE-2026-77621 · Other software · vectordotdev · reported by GitHubCritical 9.3

Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.10.0 until 0.57.0, the file sink renders its templated path from event fields and opens the result without confining it to an intended directory. When an untrusted source supplies an event field used by the path template, the value can contain an absolute path or parent-directory traversal, causing Vector to create parent directories and create or overwrite files outside the intended location with the Vector process privileges. The resulting file write can modify sensitive files and can lead to code execution when a scheduled task, authorization file, or subsequently executed script is targeted. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.

  • Sep 22, 2026Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline.CVE-2026-77620 · Other software · vectordotdev · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.15.0 until 0.57.0, the logstash source feeds each decompressed frame back into its decoder without limiting nested compression depth. An unauthenticated remote peer that can reach the default 0.0.0.0:5044 listener can send many nested compressed frames, causing recursive decoding that exhausts the worker thread stack and aborts the process. The same nested construction amplifies decompressed input, and process termination can halt log ingestion for every tenant on a shared pipeline. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.

  • Sep 22, 2026Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline.CVE-2026-77619 · Other software · vectordotdev · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.15.0 until 0.57.0, the logstash source reads a 32-bit compressed-frame length from the network and uses it to size an in-memory buffer without an upper bound. An unauthenticated remote peer that can reach the default 0.0.0.0:5044 listener can send a minimal frame declaring a multi-gigabyte payload, causing an excessive allocation that can abort Vector or invoke the host OOM killer. Because the allocation follows the declared length rather than bytes transmitted, the attacker has low resource cost, and process termination can halt log ingestion for every tenant on a shared pipeline. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.

  • Sep 18, 2026Perses is an open-source dashboard and visualization project for observability data.CVE-2026-63458 · Other software · perses · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

Perses is an open-source dashboard and visualization project for observability data. Prior to 0.54.0-beta.3, an authenticated user with viewer access to one project can supply another project through the project query parameter on project-scoped list endpoints, including /api/v1/projects/{project}/dashboards and /api/v1/datasources. The request-controlled project value is used to select dashboards, datasources, and variables without enforcing the caller's authorization for that selected project, which breaks project-level tenant isolation and exposes complete resource specifications belonging to other projects. Perses is an open-source dashboard and visualization project for observability data. Prior to 0.54.0-rc.0, list endpoints used with the file-system database bind the request-controlled project query parameter into the resource Query structure without validating it against directory traversal characters, and the resulting project value is used to select database paths. • Sep 16, 2026Improper preservation of permissions in the Avast sandbox minifilter driver (aswSnx.sys) on Windows allows a local, low-privileged attacker executing inside theCVE-2026-82964 · Other software · Gen Digital · reported by security@nortonlifelock.comHigh 8.8

Improper preservation of permissions in the Avast sandbox minifilter driver (aswSnx.sys) on Windows allows a local, low-privileged attacker executing inside the sandbox to escape file isolation and escalate to SYSTEM. When the sandbox virtualizes a file it copies the original security descriptor, but the driver opened the virtualization target object with GENERIC_WRITE and FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES only, omitting WRITE_DAC. Every attempt to apply the original DACL therefore failed, and the failure was discarded silently, leaving virtualized copies of sensitive files with permissive permissions. Because the IRP_MJ_CREATE callback additionally did not strip WRITE_DAC for sensitive directories, a sandboxed process could rewrite the security descriptor of a virtualized object, read the virtualized copy of the SAM database, extract local NTLM password hashes and execute code as SYSTEM. The absence of an IRP_MJ_SET_SECURITY callback in the driver's operation registration table is a related defense-in-depth gap, but it is not the control that prevents this attack.

Prior to 7.260706.0, the JSON ingestion mapper's extractWithRegexp formula function compiled a user-supplied regular expression with the JavaScript RegExp engine in opencti-platform/opencti-graphql/src/parser/json-mapper.ts without validating its complexity. An authenticated user with JSON mapper creation permission could provide a catastrophically backtracking pattern and matching ingestion input, blocking the Node.js event loop and making the GraphQL API unavailable to all users. Scheduled ingestion could repeatedly execute the malicious mapper without additional attacker action, and recovery could require disabling the mapper and restarting the process. As a result, an organization owner can retrieve secrets intended to be administrator-only, including the system API key when it is configured. Version 2.0-M5-2605 fixes the issue.

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix missing metadata reservation for large xattrs [BUG] lsetxattr() panics the kernCVE-2026-80809 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix missing metadata reservation for large xattrs [BUG] lsetxattr() panics the kernel when setting a large xattr value on a fragmented filesystem where the file already has an external xattr block. [CAUSE] ocfs2_calc_xattr_set_need() never reserves metadata blocks for a new xattr value's extent tree when the file already has an external xattr block. The not_found path leaves meta_add at zero, so meta_ac is NULL when ocfs2_xattr_extend_allocation() runs. A new value root has room for a single extent record. On a fragmented filesystem, the allocator cannot satisfy the xattr value in one contiguous run, so each non-contiguous run requires its own extent record. When the value root's extent list is full and meta_ac is NULL, ocfs2_add_clusters_in_btree() returns RESTART_META, and ocfs2_xattr_extend_allocation() hits BUG_ON(why == RESTART_META). [FIX] The case where no xattr block exists yet already calls ocfs2_extend_meta_needed(&def_xv.xv.xr_list) to reserve value tree metadata. Add the same reservation to the case where an xattr block already exists, making the two cases consistent. Replace the BUG_ON wit

  • Sep 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Fix bandwidth group reservation indexing Valid bandwidth group IDs range fromCVE-2026-80736 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Fix bandwidth group reservation indexing Valid bandwidth group IDs range from 1 through MAX_GROUPS, while Group ID 0 is reserved. tb_consumed_dp_bandwidth() uses the Group ID directly to index its local group_reserved[] array. The array currently has MAX_GROUPS entries, so its valid indices are 0 through MAX_GROUPS - 1. Group ID MAX_GROUPS therefore accesses one element past the end, and the final group's reserved bandwidth is not included when the array is summed. Give group_reserved[] MAX_GROUPS + 1 entries so direct Group ID indexing covers the reserved ID 0 and valid IDs 1 through MAX_GROUPS.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
