In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rds: ib: use rds_conn_drop() on protocol version mismatch rds_ib_cm_connect_complete() runs from the RDMA-CM event handler with conn->c_cm_lock held. When the peer negotiates a protocol version older than RDS_PROTOCOL_COMPAT_VERSION, the handler calls rds_conn_destroy(), which is only safe in the rmmod path: it synchronously tears the connection down and flush_work()es the shutdown work cp_down_w. That shutdown work (rds_conn_shutdown()) needs cp_cm_lock, which is the very lock the event handler still holds, so the flush never completes: the two workers wait on each other and the RDS connection workqueues stall for good. All other RDMA-CM failure paths (REJECTED, CONNECT_ERROR, DISCONNECTED) use rds_conn_drop(), which marks the connection RDS_CONN_ERROR and schedules the shutdown work asynchronously. Use it here as well.

  • Oct 2, 2026Improper Validation of Certificate with Host Mismatch in the C++ and D libraries of Apache Thrift.CVE-2026-85088 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.9

Improper Validation of Certificate with Host Mismatch in the C++ and D libraries of Apache Thrift. Both libraries install a default access manager for client sockets — TSSLSocketFactory does so in C++, and the accessManager property does so in D — which compares the peer certificate against the host name that was connected to. That comparison walks the subjectAltName dNSName entries first and consults the certificate Common Name afterwards. A name that does not match yields a "skip" result rather than a rejection, so a certificate whose subjectAltName entries are all present and all non-matching falls through to the Common Name, which can then satisfy the check. RFC 6125 section 6.4.4, and RFC 9525 section 2, require that the Common Name is not consulted when a dNSName subjectAltName is present. A certificate carrying subjectAltName entries for one name and a Common Name for another is therefore accepted for a connection to the second name. Exploitation requires an attacker positioned on the network path who holds a certificate that chains to a certificate authority in the client's trust store and whose Common Name matches the connected host name. The CoAP link-format helper match_path_uri() in subsys/net/lib/coap/coap_link_format.c compares a registered resource path against the URI carried in a Uri-Query href= option. That URI is not NUL terminated, but the inner character loop advanced its index k once per path character without ever testing it against the option length len. When a registered path segment is longer than the supplied URI and the URI is a prefix of it, the loop reads uri[len] and beyond, past the end of the option value. The path is reached from coap_well_known_core_get_len() and coap_well_known_core_get() via match_queries_resource(), i.e. by any unauthenticated GET /.well-known/core?href=/<prefix> request to a device that serves /.well-known/core (for the CoAP server subsystem, CONFIG_COAP_SERVER_WELL_KNOWN_CORE, default y) and has at least one resource that declares struct coap_core_metadata attributes. The over-read does not reach the receive buffer. The well-known-core builders parse the query into a stack-local struct coap_option, whose value is a fixed array (value[12], or CONFIG_COAP_EXTENDED_OPTIONS_LEN_VALUE bytes) that the option bytes are copied into, so uri points into that copy. • Sep 27, 2026MatchTrustedPeer ignores the public key used, leading to forged CA clones passing verification.CVE-2026-93302 · Other software · wolfSSL · reported by facts@wolfssl.comHigh 8.3

MatchTrustedPeer ignores the public key used, leading to forged CA clones passing verification. Affected builds are any that enable the macro WOLFSSL_TRUST_PEER_CERT and load CA certificates with wolfSSL_CTX_trust_peer_cert() or wolfSSL_trust_peer_cert(). The peer must know the certificates being loaded to either of those APIs to take advantage of the issue. When OPENSSL_COMPATIBLE_DEFAULTS is also defined this widens the affected API to include all CA certificate loading. Both macros are defined when using autoconf builds such as (nginx, haproxy, stunnel, wpas, apache httpd, hitch, bind, rsyslog, ffmpeg, all, distro). When the certificate is listed as a trusted peer certificate the issue previously allowed for a malicious (D)TLS server to bypass authentication once knowing which CA’s the client would accept. This also affects mutual authentication cases where the client knows which CA’s the server has loaded. If building with any of these configurations and using (D)TLS where the loaded CA’s could be known and authentication of the peer is desired, users should either: update to the latest wolfSSL version, apply the fix patch, or use the configure flag --disable-openssl-compatible

Contrast (Edgeless Systems) through 1.20.0 performs unanchored suffix matching when selecting per-registry configuration in the imagepuller. Config.registryFor strips a single trailing dot and then uses strings.HasSuffix(hostname, fqdn) without requiring a DNS label boundary, so a registry entry such as [registries."ghcr.io."] is also applied to any host whose name merely ends in that byte sequence, including attacker-registered domains such as evilghcr.io. When an image or layer is pulled from such a sibling domain, the imagepuller sends the configured Authorization header (basic auth, registry token, or identity token), trusts the configured custom CA bundle, follows the configured mirror, and honours insecure-skip-verify (disabling TLS verification) for that host. Image integrity is not affected, as image bytes remain pinned by digest in the policy and are validated after the pull. Configurations that use a leading dot (e.g., [registries.".example.registry"]) are unaffected.

Grav before 2.0.25 ships web server configuration samples whose access-control deny rules are matched case-sensitively. In webserver-configs/web.config (IIS), every deny rule (user_sensitive_folders, user_accounts, user_data, user_error_redirect, user_pages, system, vendor, ignore_folders) sets ignoreCase="false" on its URL Rewrite <match> element, overriding the IIS default of ignoreCase="true"; because these are rewrite matches rather than <requestFiltering> elements, there is no case-insensitive fallback. On IIS running over case-insensitive NTFS, an unauthenticated remote attacker can vary the case of a folder name or file extension (for example GET /user/CONFIG/system.YAML) so that no deny rule matches and the IIS static file handler resolves and returns the underlying file, disclosing sensitive data such as configuration secrets or account password hashes. Whether a bypassed file is actually returned depends on MIME registration: .json is served by default, while .yaml/.yml return HTTP 404.3 on a stock IIS unless a YAML MIME mapping has been added. The same class of gap exists in the bundled webserver-configs/lighttpd.conf, whose user/(config|env), directory, script-extension

PHP's OpenSSL stream peer verification checks the certificate's subjectAltName entries first and, whenever no entry matches, falls back to the Common Name. RFC 6125 requires the CN to be ignored once the certificate presents any service identity, so a certificate carrying a non-matching DNS SAN was still accepted when its CN matched the requested peer_name. A certificate trusted by the client for one name can therefore be used to impersonate another.

The AIL Framework (ail-project/ail-framework) contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in two Jinja2 templates that render popovers for matched, tracked, or tagged content: var/www/templates/chats_explorer/block_message.html and var/www/templates/objects/item/show_item.html. In both templates, dynamic values associated with this content, including icon color, icon style, icon glyph, subtype, identifier, name, description, and matched value, are interpolated directly into the data-content HTML attribute of Bootstrap popover elements without appropriate output encoding. Because the popovers are configured with data-html="true", the content is interpreted as HTML in the victim's browser. An authenticated attacker who can influence matched, tracked, or tagged content may inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript into these values. When a victim displays the affected popover, the injected markup may execute in the victim's session, potentially enabling data exfiltration or actions with the victim's privileges. The vulnerability is classified as stored XSS because the malicious payload can persist in the affected match, tracking, or tag-related data and be delivered to users

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Require MEM_PERCPU for percpu kptr stores map_kptr_match_type() treats perm_flags as the set of register type flags that a kptr field permits. Adding MEM_PERCPU to that set for BPF_KPTR_PERCPU does not require the source register to carry it, however. The subset test consequently accepts both a plain bpf_obj_new() allocation and a referenced kernel pointer into a __percpu_kptr map field. Loads from the field are always marked MEM_PERCPU. Consumers then treat the stored value as the cookie returned by bpf_percpu_obj_new(): per-CPU pointer helpers relocate it, and map teardown selects the per-CPU free path. A plain allocation can therefore provide an arbitrary kernel read/write, while a kernel pointer can be relocated into an invalid address or sent through a missing destructor. Require the source MEM_PERCPU flag to match the destination field kind. This preserves valid bpf_percpu_obj_new() stores and rejects both the program-BTF and kernel-BTF variants.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix maximum allowed access checks The DACL permission check looks for an ACE matching the current user and falls back to the Everyone ACE. It does not consider an Authenticated Users ACE, even though an authenticated session is a member of that well-known group. As a result, opening a file whose access is granted through S-1-5-11 can incorrectly fail with STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. Treat an Authenticated Users ACE as a fallback entry alongside Everyone. The maximal access calculation also combines access masks from every ACE, regardless of whether its SID applies to the current user. This can grant rights belonging to an unrelated principal. Process only ACEs applying to the user, Everyone, or Authenticated Users, and accumulate allowed and denied masks in ACL order. Preserve explicitly requested access bits so they are validated against the resulting maximal mask. When ACCESS_SYSTEM_SECURITY is denied, report STATUS_PRIVILEGE_NOT_HELD instead of the generic STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. Access to the system ACL requires a security privilege that ksmbd does not grant. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lockd: fix swapped arguments in nlmsvc_match_ip() When releasing locks by server IP address via /proc/fs/nfsd/unlock_ip, nlmsvc_unlock_all_by_ip() calls nlm_traverse_files() with the server sockaddr as the opaque @data argument: nlm_traverse_files(server_addr, nlmsvc_match_ip, NULL); The match callback is later invoked from nlm_traverse_locks() as: match(lockhost, host); where the first argument is the nlm_host that owns the lock, and the second argument is the @data that was originally passed down (here the server sockaddr). This is the convention every other match callback relies on (nlmsvc_mark_host(), nlmsvc_same_host(), nlmsvc_is_client()): arg1 is the real nlm_host, arg2 is the caller-supplied reference value. nlmsvc_match_ip() has had these two arguments reversed ever since the unlock-by-IP feature was introduced in commit 4373ea84c84d ("lockd: unlock lockd locks associated with a given server ip"): return rpc_cmp_addr(nlm_srcaddr(host), datap); Here @host is actually the server sockaddr, so nlm_srcaddr(host) dereferences a struct sockaddr as a struct nlm_host and reads garbage at the offset of

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: svcrdma: Fix unmatched rn_unregister on failed accept When svc_rdma_accept() takes the errout path before rpcrdma_rn_register() has succeeded, the existing cleanup block calls rpcrdma_rn_unregister(dev, &newxprt->sc_rn) unconditionally. svcxprt_rdma is kzalloc'd, so on that path sc_rn.rn_index is 0 and sc_rn.rn_done is NULL; the unregister therefore xa_erase()s another caller's slot 0 and performs an unmatched kref_put() on the rpcrdma_device's rd_kref. The same errout also brackets the cleanup with svc_xprt_get()/ svc_xprt_put() around the kref_init() birth reference. The kref goes 1 -> 2 -> 1 and never reaches 0, so the svcxprt_rdma (and the net/ns_tracker it pinned) is leaked on every failed accept. rpcrdma_rn_register() writes rn->rn_done last, only after xa_alloc() and kref_get() have both succeeded, so rn_done == NULL is a natural "never registered" sentinel. Guard rpcrdma_rn_unregister() with an early return when rn_done is NULL, and clear rn_done before the matching xa_erase() so a repeated unregister is also a no-op. With that guard in place, the accept errout drops the kref_init() birth reference via

In MISP, the queryEnrichment method in EventsController.php accepted a module name parameter and iterated over the list of enabled modules to find a match. If the specified module was not present in the enabled modules list, the code silently continued processing using default parameters (format set to 'simplified' and no module-specific configuration applied) rather than rejecting the request. This allowed an authenticated user to trigger enrichment or analysis processing through a module that was not explicitly enabled or available on the instance, bypassing the intended module availability controls. The lack of validation meant that module names outside the enabled set were not rejected, potentially exposing functionality or data processing paths that the administrator had not authorized for use.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: asus-wireless: Fail probe when there is no ACPI match Every platform driver can be forced to match a device that does not match its list of device IDs because of device_match_driver_override(), so platform drivers that rely on the existence of a device ACPI companion object need to verify its presence. asus_wireless_probe() returns success when acpi_match_acpi_device() finds no match, leaving behind an input device that never reports anything because the notify handler is not installed. Worse, when the driver is force-bound to a device without an ACPI companion, probe still succeeds and stores a NULL companion pointer, which asus_wireless_remove() later passes to acpi_dev_remove_notify_handler(), leading to a NULL pointer dereference on unbind. Return -ENODEV when the device does not match the ID table. This also covers the missing-companion case, because acpi_match_acpi_device() rejects a NULL device. Perform the check before allocating any driver state, instead of after the input device has already been registered.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix BUG in nilfs_copy_dirty_pages() on dirty state mismatch Syzbot reported a kernel BUG triggered within nilfs_copy_dirty_pages(), which copies dirty DAT file folios/pages to its shadow page cache. The BUG occurs when a retrieved dirty folio/page unexpectedly loses its 'dirty' status. This issue arises because, since the commit referenced below, the 'dirty' flag of a folio/page can be cleared asynchronously after the filesystem detects metadata corruption and transitions to read-only mode. Resolve the issue by returning an -EROFS error if the filesystem has transitioned to read-only mode. Also change the behavior to issue a kernel warning only once instead of triggering a kernel BUG when this unexpected 'dirty' state is detected while the filesystem is not in read-only mode.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: fix stride mismatch in mac_phy_caps_parse() Currently, in ath12k_wmi_mac_phy_caps_parse(), kzalloc() sizes the mac_phy_caps buffer as tot_phy_id * len, where len is clamped to min(firmware_len, sizeof(struct ath12k_wmi_mac_phy_caps_params)). The subsequent memcpy() destination advances by sizeof(full struct) per slot via C pointer arithmetic, not by the clamped len. When firmware sends short TLVs, the second and later slots are written past the end of the allocation. The reader in ath12k_pull_mac_phy_cap_svc_ready_ext() also indexes the buffer with full-struct pointer arithmetic, so the allocation must match that stride. Fix by using kzalloc_objs(), which derives the element size from the pointer type, making allocation size and pointer stride provably consistent regardless of what len the firmware provides. • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hinic3: Fix skb linearization mismatch and drop skb when skb_checksum_help() failed PrevioCVE-2026-90145 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hinic3: Fix skb linearization mismatch and drop skb when skb_checksum_help() failed Previously, hinic3_send_one_skb() cached the skb fragment count before calling hinic3_tx_offload(). If hinic3_tx_csum() falls back to skb_checksum_help() for unsupported tunnel packets, the skb may be linearized. Continuing to build the TX descriptor with the stale fragment count leads to a descriptor mismatch, which can trigger out-of-bounds DMA reads or IOMMU faults. Furthermore, the old code ignored the return value of skb_checksum_help(), transmitting corrupted packets with incomplete checksums upon failure. Fix this by: 1. Moving the hinic3_tx_offload() call before calculating 'num_sge' to ensure the correct fragment count is used if the SKB is linearized. 2. Propagating skb_checksum_help() errors and returning HINIC3_TX_OFFLOAD_INVALID to properly drop the skb.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l2-async: avoid deleting unlinked ASC entry on link error v4l2_async_match_notify() creates ancillary media links before adding asc->asc_subdev_entry to sd->asc_list. If ancillary link creation fails, the function jumps to err_call_unbind while asc_subdev_entry has not been linked yet. Async connections are zero-allocated, so the list entry still has NULL next and prev pointers on this path. Calling list_del() on it can therefore dereference NULL instead of returning the original link creation error. Do not delete asc_subdev_entry from err_call_unbind. There is no list insertion to undo on this path; the bound callback and sub-device registration are the operations that need to be rolled back.
