  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: stop killed, freed and out_of_sync sharing a byte The three connection state flagCVE-2026-80980 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: stop killed, freed and out_of_sync sharing a byte The three connection state flags are single-bit bitfields, so they occupy one byte of struct smc_connection and every store to one is a read-modify-write of the other two: u8 killed : 1; u8 freed : 1; u8 out_of_sync : 1; They are not written under a common lock. smc_cdc_msg_validate() sets out_of_sync from the receive tasklet, while smc_conn_kill() sets killed from process context under lock_sock(), and the receive path does not defer to the backlog when the socket is owned -- smc_cdc_msg_recv() takes only bh_lock_sock(). Give each flag its own byte so a store no longer touches its neighbours. All readers test them as booleans and are unchanged. struct smc_connection grows by two bytes.

fastify-cli starts the Node.js Inspector when a debug flag is used, but it ignores the explicit bind address the user supplies and binds the Inspector to a broadly reachable address instead of the intended loopback. As a result the debugging interface can be exposed beyond the local machine, and because the Inspector protocol allows arbitrary code evaluation, a remote party that reaches it can achieve remote code execution on the developer's machine. This affects fastify-cli from 1.5.0 up to 8.0.1. Users should upgrade to fastify-cli 8.0.1, which honors the configured Inspector bind address.

  • Sep 5, 2026grav-plugin-api versions before 1.0.20 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability in the InvitationsController where the stripSuperFlags() method only removesCVE-2026-86195 · Other software · getgrav · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

grav-plugin-api versions before 1.0.20 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability in the InvitationsController where the stripSuperFlags() method only removes nested super flags but fails to strip dot-keyed equivalents like api.super. A non-super user manager with api.access and api.users.write permissions can create an invitation with a dot-keyed super flag in the access payload that bypasses the guard and persists to the new account. Attackers can accept the invitation through the public endpoint without real invitee interaction to create a super-admin account and immediately receive a valid JWT for full site control.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: do not propagate one-packet flag to synced conns Synced connections can be created before their destination exists. When the destination is later added, ip_vs_bind_dest() copies connection flags from the destination into cp->flags. IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET connections are not synced. If a synced connection inherits IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET while it is already hashed, expiry can treat it as a one-packet connection and skip unlinking the existing conn_tab node, leaving stale hash nodes pointing at a freed struct ip_vs_conn. Drop IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET from destination flags when binding synced connections.

  • Aug 26, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: fix exchange-range reflink flag clearing issue with INO1_WRITTEN When exchanging two CVE-2026-80530 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: fix exchange-range reflink flag clearing issue with INO1_WRITTEN When exchanging two full-file ranges, xmi_can_exchange_reflink_flags() can move the reflink inode flag from the file that currently has it to the other file, as long as exactly one side is marked. This assumes that the file contents, and therefore all shared extents, are exchanged. That assumption is not true when XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is set. xfs_exchmaps_can_skip_mapping() can skip hole and unwritten mappings from file1, so an exchange can complete without moving every mapping that the earlier flag-swap decision accounted for. In that case the post-operation cleanup can clear the reflink flag from an inode that still owns shared written extents. Later writes then take the non-reflink write path and may update blocks that should still have been protected by CoW, which shows up as data corruption between reflink-related files. Fix this by disabling the reflink flag exchange whenever XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is requested. The contents exchange can still proceed; the conservative outcome is that both inodes keep the reflink flag. The

The frontend company self-service editing feature relies on a template-level visibility flag to hide the edit form for company records a visitor does not own, but the corresponding write operation does not repeat this ownership check on the server side. • Aug 24, 2026Rocq Prover does not restore the universe graph's copy of the universe checking flag when a module that locally disabled the check is closed.CVE-2026-72714 · Other software · rocq-prover · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8

Rocq Prover does not restore the universe graph's copy of the universe checking flag when a module that locally disabled the check is closed. Local Unset Universe Checking inside a module is expected to last only until the module ends, and the global flag is restored, but the universe graph keeps its own copy which is left disabled. The two views then disagree: Test Universe Checking reports the check as enabled while the kernel continues to accept universe-inconsistent terms. With the constraint between two universes no longer enforced, Hurkens' paradox applies and yields a proof of False, from which any proposition follows. The proof uses no axioms, plugins or unsafe features once the module has closed, and Print Assumptions reports it as closed under the global context, so neither the assumption audit nor the flag query reflects the actual kernel state. No fix is available.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: ISO: fix leaking sk after socket release iso_sock_kill() tests !sock_flag(sk, SOCK_ZAPPED) || sk->sk_socket || sock_flag(sk, SOCK_DEAD) for early return, but this is always true since sock_orphan(sk) sets SOCK_DEAD, so the sk reference released by socket always leaks, iso_sock_destruct is never called. The socket reference also leaks when __iso_sock_close() does not set SOCK_ZAPPED, since iso_conn_del() does not call iso_sock_kill() after zapping. Fix by replacing SOCK_DEAD by BT_SK_KILLED flag that is not used for something else, and lock_sock to ensure iso_sock_kill() puts sk only after socket release only once. Release and iso_conn_del may run concurrently. Call iso_sock_kill() from iso_conn_del() to clean sk up after zapping. Remove call to iso_sock_kill() from iso_sock_close(), as it's generally no-op there.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_misc: reject a flag character as the field delimiter The registration string starts with a user chosen delimiter that separates the individual fields. So that the field parsers terminate even on a truncated string create_entry() pads the buffer with that same delimiter: memset(buf + count, del, 8); Most fields are scanned for the delimiter with strchr()/scanarg() and happily stop on the padding. The flags field is different: instead of scanning for the delimiter check_special_flags() consumes the flag characters 'P', 'O', 'C' and 'F' and stops at the first byte that is none of them, relying on the trailing delimiter to end the scan. If the delimiter is itself a flag character the padding no longer acts as a terminator. The scan swallows all eight padding bytes and keeps reading past the end of the allocation until it hits a byte that is not a flag character. For example registering PaPEPPxPPiP with 'P' as the delimiter (name "a", type extension, magic "x", interpreter "i", empty flags) leaves the flag scan running off the end of the buffer. The registration is rejected in the end because the parser

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gue: validate REMCSUM private option length GUE private flags can indicate that remote checksum offload metadata is present. The private flags field itself is accounted for by guehdr_flags_len(), but guehdr_priv_flags_len() currently returns 0 even when GUE_PFLAG_REMCSUM is set. This lets a packet with only the private flags field pass validate_gue_flags(), after which gue_remcsum() and gue_gro_remcsum() read the missing REMCSUM start/offset fields from the following bytes. Perl versions from 5.9.4 before 5.41.9 produce incorrect regular expression match results when a stale failure flag ends the Aho-Corasick prescan early in S_find_byclass. The prescan walks the subject for positions where the full pattern could match, and the engine tries it from the leftmost one recorded. A failing transition sets the failed flag, and a later successful transition does not clear it, so the prescan reads the stale flag as a failure and stops before it can record a candidate that starts earlier. It takes a subject where one candidate is recorded and a later character then forces a fallback through a fail link that succeeds. Example: "ABCDE" =~ m/ABCF|BCDE|C/; # matches C at offset 2, not BCDE "ABCDE" =~ m/ABCF|BCDE|C(G)/; # no match, BCDE missed An alternation like this can miss input it should match, or match it on the wrong branch, so an access or filtering decision made from the result can be wrong.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: don't propagate EXTENT_FLAG_LOGGING to split extent maps When btrfs_drop_extent_map_range() splits an extent map, the new split maps inherit the original map's flags through a local 'flags' variable. Commit f86f7a75e2fb ("btrfs: use the flags of an extent map to identify the compression type") changed the EXTENT_FLAG_LOGGING clearing to operate on em->flags instead of that local 'flags' copy, so a split of an extent map that is currently being logged wrongly inherits EXTENT_FLAG_LOGGING. The flag is then never cleared on the split, and when it is freed while still on the inode's modified_extents list (for example by the extent map shrinker) it trips the WARN_ON(!list_empty(&em->list)) in btrfs_free_extent_map() and leads to a use-after-free. Clear EXTENT_FLAG_LOGGING from the local 'flags' copy used for the splits and only clear EXTENT_FLAG_PINNED from em->flags, restoring the behaviour prior to f86f7a75e2fb.

The kernel queue helper z_queue_node_peek() in kernel/queue.c dereferences a node taken from a queue's data_q list, reading the node's flag byte and, for items enqueued via k_queue_alloc_append/alloc_prepend, the data pointer of an internally allocated alloc_node struct. The implementations of z_impl_k_queue_peek_head() and z_impl_k_queue_peek_tail() performed this read-and-dereference without holding the queue's spinlock, while every other accessor of the same list — including k_queue_get(), which unlinks a node and k_free()s its backing alloc_node — operates under that lock. Because peek was unsynchronized, a concurrent k_queue_get() on the same queue (on an SMP build, or under preemption/ISR concurrency) can free the node between the moment peek obtains the node pointer and the moment it dereferences it. The peek then reads flag bits and a data pointer out of freed, potentially re-allocated heap memory and returns a stale or dangling pointer to its caller. k_fifo and k_lifo are thin wrappers over k_queue, so this affects buffer queues used throughout the net_buf, Bluetooth, USB, and networking subsystems; the peek operations are also system calls reachable from CONFIG_USERSPACE

It may prepend a 3-byte "Flags" AD structure (LE_AD_NO_BREDR on an LE-only controller) and then copies the per-instance data without checking that it still fits: memcpy(ptr, adv->adv_data, adv->adv_data_len); tlv_data_max_len() only reserves those 3 bytes when the user-supplied flags carry a managed-flags bit, so an instance added with flags == 0 is accepted with adv_data_len up to the full buffer. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix NULL pointer dereference in func_set_flag() func_set_flag() dereferences tr->current_trace_flags before verifying that the current tracer is actually the function tracer. When the active tracer has been switched away from "function" (e.g., to "wakeup_rt"), tr->current_trace_flags can be NULL, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The call chain that triggers this is: trace_options_write() -> __set_tracer_option() -> trace->set_flag() /* func_set_flag */ In func_set_flag(), the first operation is: if (!!set == !!(tr->current_trace_flags->val & bit)) This dereferences tr->current_trace_flags unconditionally. The safety check that guards against a non-function tracer: if (tr->current_trace != &function_trace) return 0; is placed *after* the dereference, which is too late. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: multitouch: fix out-of-bounds bit access on mt_io_flags mt_io_flags is a single unsigned long, but mt_process_slot(), mt_release_pending_palms() and mt_release_contacts() use it as a per-slot bitmap indexed by the slot number. That slot number is only bounded by td->maxcontacts, which is taken from the device's ContactCountMaximum feature report and can be up to 255, not by BITS_PER_LONG. As a result, a multitouch device that advertises a large contact count makes set_bit()/clear_bit() operate past the mt_io_flags word and corrupt the adjacent members of struct mt_device. The sticky-fingers release timer is the easiest way to reach this. mt_release_contacts() runs for (i = 0; i < mt->num_slots; i++) clear_bit(i, &td->mt_io_flags); with num_slots == maxcontacts. For maxcontacts around 250 the loop clears the bits that overlap td->applications.next, zeroing that list head, and the list_for_each_entry() that immediately follows then dereferences NULL. The kernel panics from timer (softirq) context. On a KASAN build this shows up as a general protection fault in mt_release_contacts() with a null-ptr-deref
