    Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in ueberauth guardian allows denial of service via unbounded atom creation from attacker-influenced binary input. Guardian.Plug.Keys derives connection and session namespace keys by passing arbitrary binaries to String.to_atom/1. base_key/1 in lib/guardian/plug/keys.ex converts any binary into the atom :"guardian_<input>", and the derived helpers claims_key/1, resource_key/1, and token_key/1 create a second atom on top of that. key_from_other/1 likewise converts a regex-captured binary through String.to_atom/1. The public specs advertise String.t() as a valid argument, so passing a string is documented usage, and higher-level entry points such as Guardian.Plug.current_token(conn, key: key) thread the caller-supplied key straight into these functions. String.to_atom/1 creates a brand-new atom for every previously unseen binary, atoms are never garbage collected, and the BEAM atom table is fixed at roughly 1,048,576 entries by default. An application that routes attacker-influenced data (a tenant identifier, header, or other request input) into a Guardian key therefore mints one permanent atom per distinct value. A modest stream

  • Jul 29, 2026cJSON through 1.7.19 applies RFC 6902 JSON Patch operations non-atomically in apply_patch() in cJSON_Utils.c.CVE-2026-67217 · Other software · DaveGamble · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

    cJSON through 1.7.19 applies RFC 6902 JSON Patch operations non-atomically in apply_patch() in cJSON_Utils.c. For a replace operation that is missing its value member, or a move operation whose destination path cannot be resolved, the existing target member is detached and deleted before the operation is fully validated, so the target document is mutated while cJSONUtils_ApplyPatches() or cJSONUtils_ApplyPatchesCaseSensitive() returns a failure status. An attacker who can supply the patch document can destroy addressable members of the target document even though the API reports that the patch failed, defeating the all-or-nothing behavior callers rely on to reject bad patches.

  • Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/mlx5: Fix racy bitfields and tighten struct layout Bitfield operations are not atomicCVE-2026-64472 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/mlx5: Fix racy bitfields and tighten struct layout Bitfield operations are not atomic, they use a read-modify-write pattern, therefore we should be careful not to pack bitfields that can be concurrently updated into the same storage unit. This split takes a binary approach: flags that are only modified pre/post open/close remain bitfields, flags modified from user action, including actions that reach across to another device (ex. reset) use dedicated storage units. Note mlx5_vhca_page_tracker.status is relocated to fill the alignment hole this split exposes. Bitfield justifications: migrate_cap: written only in mlx5vf_cmd_set_migratable() at probe chunk_mode: written only in mlx5vf_cmd_set_migratable() at probe mig_state_cap: written only in mlx5vf_cmd_set_migratable() at probe Dedicated storage units: mdev_detach: written in the VF attach/detach event notifier mlx5fv_vf_event() at runtime log_active: written in mlx5vf_start_page_tracker()/ mlx5vf_stop_page_tracker() during runtime dirty tracking deferred_reset: written in mlx5vf_state_mutex_unlock()/

  • Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: xhci: Fix sleep in atomic context in xhci_free_streams() When a USB device with activCVE-2026-64465 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: xhci: Fix sleep in atomic context in xhci_free_streams() When a USB device with active stream endpoints is disconnected, xhci_free_streams() is called from the hub_event workqueue to free the stream resources. It calls xhci_free_stream_info() while holding xhci->lock with irqs disabled. xhci_free_stream_info() invokes xhci_free_stream_ctx(), which calls dma_free_coherent() for large stream context arrays. dma_free_coherent() can sleep (e.g. via vunmap), triggering a BUG when called from atomic context. Call trace: dma_free_attrs+0x174/0x220 xhci_free_stream_info+0xd0/0x11c xhci_free_streams+0x278/0x37c usb_free_streams+0x98/0xc0 usb_unbind_interface+0x1b8/0x2f8 device_release_driver_internal+0x1d4/0x2cc device_release_driver+0x18/0x28 bus_remove_device+0x160/0x1a4 device_del+0x1ec/0x350 usb_disable_device+0x98/0x214 usb_disconnect+0xf0/0x35c hub_event+0xab4/0x19ec process_one_work+0x278/0x63c Fix this by saving the stream_info pointers and clearing the ep references under the lock, then calling xhci_free_stream_info() outside the lock where sleeping is allowed.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: tracepoints: fix sleep while in atomic context in btrfs_sync_file() The trace event btrfs_sync_file() is called in an atomic context (all trace events are) and its call to dput(), which is needed due to the call to dget_parent(), can sleep, triggering a kernel splat. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: Fix sleep in atomic context in netlink path Since the introduction of the netlink configuration path for bridge ports in commit 25c71c75ac87 ("bridge: bridge port parameters over netlink"), br_setport() was always called with the bridge lock held around it. Back then this decision made sense: The bridge lock protects the STP state of the bridge and its ports and at that time the function only processed three STP related netlink attributes (cost, priority and state). Nowadays, br_setport() processes a lot more attributes and most of them do not need the bridge lock: * Bridge flags: Only require RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path. Annotations can be added in net-next. * FDB port flushing: Only requires the FDB lock. * Multicast attributes: Only require the multicast lock. * Group forward mask: Only requires RTNL. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gcov: use atomic counter updates to fix concurrent access crashes GCC's GCOV instrumentation can merge global branch counters with loop induction variables as an optimization. In inflate_fast(), the inner copy loops get transformed so that the GCOV counter value is loaded multiple times to compute the loop base address, start index, and end bound. Since GCOV counters are global (not per-CPU), concurrent execution on different CPUs causes the counter to change between loads, producing inconsistent values and out-of-bounds memory writes. • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: read COW data with the original inode during atomic write When updating an atomic-wrCVE-2026-63811 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: read COW data with the original inode during atomic write When updating an atomic-write file, f2fs_write_begin() may read the previously written data back from the COW inode: prepare_atomic_write_begin() locates the block in the COW inode and sets use_cow, and the read bio is then built with the COW inode: f2fs_submit_page_read(use_cow ? F2FS_I(inode)->cow_inode : inode, ...); and f2fs_grab_read_bio() decides whether to schedule fs-layer decryption (STEP_DECRYPT) for the bio based on that inode via fscrypt_inode_uses_fs_layer_crypto(). However, the folio being filled belongs to the original inode (folio->mapping->host == inode), and the data stored in the COW block was encrypted (or left as plaintext) using the original inode's context, not the COW inode's -- see f2fs_encrypt_one_page(), which keys off fio->page->mapping->host. fscrypt_decrypt_pagecache_blocks() likewise operates on folio->mapping->host. The COW inode is created as a tmpfile in the parent directory and inherits its encryption policy from there. With test_dummy_encryption the newly created COW inode gets the dummy policy and

  • Jun 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: VFS: fix possible failure to unlock in nfsd4_create_file() atomic_create() in fs/namei.c dCVE-2026-53244 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: VFS: fix possible failure to unlock in nfsd4_create_file() atomic_create() in fs/namei.c drops the reference to the dentry when it returns an error. This behaviour was imported into dentry_create() so that it will drop the reference if an error is returned from atomic_create(), though not if vfs_create() returns an error (in the case where ->atomic_create is not supported). The caller - nfsd4_create_file() - is made aware of this by checking path->dentry, which will either be a counted reference to a dentry, or an error pointer. However the change to use start_creating()/end_creating() (which landed shortly before the dentry_create() change landed, though was likely developed around the same time) means that nfsd4_create_file() *needs* a valid dentry so that it can unlock the parent. The net result is that if NFSD exports a filesystem which uses ->atomic_create, and if a call to ->atomic_create returns an error, then nfsd4_create_file() will pass an error pointer to end_creating() and the parent will not be unlocked. Fix this by changing dentry_create() to make sure path->dentry is always a valid dentry, neve

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/bridge: cadence: cdns-mhdp8546-core: Set the mhdp connector earlier in atomic_enable() In case if we get errors in cdns_mhdp_link_up() or cdns_mhdp_reg_read() in atomic_enable, we will go to cdns_mhdp_modeset_retry_fn() and will hit NULL pointer while trying to access the mutex. We need the connector to be set before that. Unlike in legacy cases with flag !DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, we do not have connector initialised in bridge_attach(), so add the mhdp->connector_ptr in device structure to handle both cases with DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR and !DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, set it in atomic_enable() earlier to avoid possible NULL pointer dereference in recovery paths like modeset_retry_fn() with the DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR flag set.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/rds: fix NULL deref in rds_ib_send_cqe_handler() on masked atomic completion rds_ib_xmit_atomic() always programs a masked atomic opcode (IB_WR_MASKED_ATOMIC_CMP_AND_SWP or IB_WR_MASKED_ATOMIC_FETCH_AND_ADD) for every RDS atomic cmsg. But the completion-side switch in rds_ib_send_unmap_op() only handles the non-masked opcodes, so a masked atomic completion falls through to default and returns rm == NULL while send->s_op is left set. rds_ib_send_cqe_handler() then dereferences the NULL rm via rm->m_final_op, oopsing in softirq context. An unprivileged AF_RDS sendmsg() of an atomic cmsg over an active RDS/IB connection triggers it; on hardware that natively accepts masked atomics (mlx4, mlx5) no extra setup is needed. Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in elixir-tesla tesla allows denial of service via atom table exhaustion in Tesla.Adapter.Mint. Tesla.Adapter.Mint.open_conn/2 converts the URL scheme of every outgoing request to a BEAM atom via String.to_atom(uri.scheme) with no allow-list validation. BEAM atoms are never garbage-collected and the atom table is bounded (approximately 1,048,576 entries by default). An attacker who can influence the URL of a Tesla request — either via an application-level URL-forwarding feature (webhook, proxy, importer) or via a Location header returned by a server when Tesla.Middleware.FollowRedirects is in the pipeline — can mint one fresh permanent atom per request by varying the scheme string. After enough requests the atom table fills and the VM crashes, taking down the entire application. This issue affects tesla: from 1.3.0 before 1.18.3.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Reject non-8-byte ATOMIC_WRITE payloads atomic_write_reply() at drivers/infiniband/sw/rxe/rxe_resp.c unconditionally dereferences 8 bytes at payload_addr(pkt): value = *(u64 *)payload_addr(pkt); check_rkey() previously accepted an ATOMIC_WRITE request with pktlen == resid == 0 because the length validation only compared pktlen against resid. A remote initiator that sets the RETH length to 0 therefore reaches atomic_write_reply() with a zero-byte logical payload, and the responder reads sizeof(u64) bytes from past the logical end of the packet into skb->head tailroom, then writes those 8 bytes into the attacker's MR via rxe_mr_do_atomic_write(). That is a remote disclosure of 4 bytes of kernel tailroom per probe (the other 4 bytes are the packet's own trailing ICRC). IBA oA19-28 defines ATOMIC_WRITE as exactly 8 bytes. Anything else is protocol-invalid. Hoist a strict length check into check_rkey() so the responder never reaches the unchecked dereference, and keep the existing WRITE-family length logic for the normal RDMA WRITE path. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: greybus: gb-beagleplay: fix sleep in atomic context in hdlc_tx_frames() hdlc_append() calls usleep_range() to wait for circular buffer space, but it is called with tx_producer_lock (a spinlock) held via hdlc_tx_frames() -> hdlc_append_tx_frame()/hdlc_append_tx_u8()/etc. Sleeping while holding a spinlock is illegal and can trigger "BUG: scheduling while atomic". Fix this by moving the buffer-space wait out of hdlc_append() and into hdlc_tx_frames(), before the spinlock is acquired. The new flow: 1. Pre-calculate the worst-case encoded frame length. 2. Wait (with sleep) outside the lock until enough space is available, kicking the TX consumer work to drain the buffer. 3. Acquire the spinlock, re-verify space, and write the entire frame atomically. This ensures that sleeping only happens without any lock held, and that frames are either fully enqueued or not written at all. This bug is found by CodeQL static analysis tool (interprocedural sleep-in-atomic query) and my code review.

    Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in phenixdigital phoenix_storybook allows unauthenticated denial-of-service via BEAM atom table exhaustion. Multiple LiveView event handlers convert user-supplied event parameter strings to atoms using String.to_atom/1 without validation: 'Elixir.PhoenixStorybook.ExtraAssignsHelpers':handle_set_variation_assign/3 interns every key of the psb-assign params map; 'Elixir.PhoenixStorybook.ExtraAssignsHelpers':handle_toggle_variation_assign/3 interns the "attr" value from psb-toggle events; 'Elixir.PhoenixStorybook.ExtraAssignsHelpers':to_variation_id/2 interns elements of "variation_id"; and 'Elixir.PhoenixStorybook.ExtraAssignsHelpers':to_value/4 interns raw string values for attributes declared as :atom or :boolean. BEAM atoms are never garbage-collected, so each unique attacker-controlled string is a permanent allocation. Once the atom table ceiling (~1,048,576 atoms) is reached, the entire BEAM node aborts, taking down all applications running on it. This issue affects phoenix_storybook from 0.2.0 before 1.1.0.

    Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in absinthe-graphql absinthe allows unauthenticated denial of service via atom table exhaustion when parsing attacker-controlled GraphQL SDL. Multiple Blueprint.Draft.convert/2 implementations in Absinthe's SDL language modules call String.to_atom/1 on attacker-controlled names from parsed GraphQL SDL documents, including directive names, field names, type names, and argument names. Because atoms are never garbage-collected and the BEAM atom table has a fixed limit (default 1,048,576), each unique name permanently consumes one slot. The issue occurs because mlx5_query_mac_address() queries the hardware which involves mlx5_cmd_exec() that can sleep, but it is called from the mlx5e_ipsec_handle_event workqueue which runs in atomic context. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix incorrect pruning due to atomic fetch precision tracking When backtrack_insn encounters a BPF_STX instruction with BPF_ATOMIC and BPF_FETCH, the src register (or r0 for BPF_CMPXCHG) also acts as a destination, thus receiving the old value from the memory location. The current backtracking logic does not account for this. It treats atomic fetch operations the same as regular stores where the src register is only an input. This leads the backtrack_insn to fail to propagate precision to the stack location, which is then not marked as precise! Later, the verifier's path pruning can incorrectly consider two states equivalent when they differ in terms of stack state. Meaning, two branches can be treated as equivalent and thus get pruned when they should not be seen as such. Fix it as follows: Extend the BPF_LDX handling in backtrack_insn to also cover atomic fetch operations via is_atomic_fetch_insn() helper. When the fetch dst register is being tracked for precision, clear it, and propagate precision over to the stack slot. For non-stack memory, the precision walk stops at the atomic instruction, same as r

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/userfaultfd: fix hugetlb fault mutex hash calculation In mfill_atomic_hugetlb(), linear_page_index() is used to calculate the page index for hugetlb_fault_mutex_hash(). However, linear_page_index() returns the index in PAGE_SIZE units, while hugetlb_fault_mutex_hash() expects the index in huge page units. This mismatch means that different addresses within the same huge page can produce different hash values, leading to the use of different mutexes for the same huge page. This can cause races between faulting threads, which can corrupt the reservation map and trigger the BUG_ON in resv_map_release(). Fix this by introducing hugetlb_linear_page_index(), which returns the page index in huge page granularity, and using it in place of linear_page_index().

    When sed is invoked with both -i (in-place edit) and --follow-symlinks, the function open_next_file() performs two separate, non-atomic filesystem operations on the same path: 1. resolves symlink to its target and stores the resolved path for determining when output is written, 2. opens the original symlink path (not the resolved one) to read the file. Between these two calls there is a race window. If an attacker atomically replaces the symlink with a different target during that window, sed will: read content from the new (attacker-chosen) symlink target and write the processed result to the path recorded in step 1. This can lead to arbitrary file overwrite with attacker-controlled content in the context of the sed process. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, arm64: Force 8-byte alignment for JIT buffer to prevent atomic tearing struct bpf_plt contains a u64 target field. Currently, the BPF JIT allocator requests an alignment of 4 bytes (sizeof(u32)) for the JIT buffer. Because the base address of the JIT buffer can be 4-byte aligned (e.g., ending in 0x4 or 0xc), the relative padding logic in build_plt() fails to ensure that target lands on an 8-byte boundary. This leads to two issues: 1. UBSAN reports misaligned-access warnings when dereferencing the structure. 2. More critically, target is updated concurrently via WRITE_ONCE() in bpf_arch_text_poke() while the JIT'd code executes ldr. On arm64, 64-bit loads/stores are only guaranteed to be single-copy atomic if they are 64-bit aligned. A misaligned target risks a torn read, causing the JIT to jump to a corrupted address. Fix this by increasing the allocation alignment requirement to 8 bytes (sizeof(u64)) in bpf_jit_binary_pack_alloc(). This anchors the base of the JIT buffer to an 8-byte boundary, allowing the relative padding math in build_plt() to correctly align the target field.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
