  • May 17, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: create sysfs nodes as driver's default device attribute gCVE-2024-35790 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: create sysfs nodes as driver's default device attribute group The DisplayPort driver's sysfs nodes may be present to the userspace before typec_altmode_set_drvdata() completes in dp_altmode_probe. This means that a sysfs read can trigger a NULL pointer error by deferencing dp->hpd in hpd_show or dp->lock in pin_assignment_show, as dev_get_drvdata() returns NULL in those cases. Remove manual sysfs node creation in favor of adding attribute group as default for devices bound to the driver. The ATTRIBUTE_GROUPS() macro is not used here otherwise the path to the sysfs nodes is no longer compliant with the ABI.

BlueZ Audio Profile AVRCP avrcp_parse_attribute_list Out-Of-Bounds Read Information Disclosure Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to disclose sensitive information via Bluetooth on affected installations of BlueZ. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must connect to a malicious device. The specific flaw exists within the handling of the AVRCP protocol. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of root. Was ZDI-CAN-20852.

  • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/mmu: x86: Don't overflow lpage_info when checking attributes Fix KVM_SET_MEMORY_ACVE-2024-26991 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/mmu: x86: Don't overflow lpage_info when checking attributes Fix KVM_SET_MEMORY_ATTRIBUTES to not overflow lpage_info array and trigger KASAN splat, as seen in the private_mem_conversions_test selftest. When memory attributes are set on a GFN range, that range will have specific properties applied to the TDP. A huge page cannot be used when the attributes are inconsistent, so they are disabled for those the specific huge pages. For internal KVM reasons, huge pages are also not allowed to span adjacent memslots regardless of whether the backing memory could be mapped as huge. What GFNs support which huge page sizes is tracked by an array of arrays 'lpage_info' on the memslot, of ‘kvm_lpage_info’ structs. Each index of lpage_info contains a vmalloc allocated array of these for a specific supported page size. The kvm_lpage_info denotes whether a specific huge page (GFN and page size) on the memslot is supported. These arrays include indices for unaligned head and tail huge pages. Preventing huge pages from spanning adjacent memslot is covered by incrementing the count in head and tail kvm_lpage_info when

  • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: core: Fix deadlock in usb_deauthorize_interface() Among the attribute file callback rCVE-2024-26934 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: core: Fix deadlock in usb_deauthorize_interface() Among the attribute file callback routines in drivers/usb/core/sysfs.c, the interface_authorized_store() function is the only one which acquires a device lock on an ancestor device: It calls usb_deauthorize_interface(), which locks the interface's parent USB device. The will lead to deadlock if another process already owns that lock and tries to remove the interface, whether through a configuration change or because the device has been disconnected. As part of the removal procedure, device_del() waits for all ongoing sysfs attribute callbacks to complete. But usb_deauthorize_interface() can't complete until the device lock has been released, and the lock won't be released until the removal has finished. The mechanism provided by sysfs to prevent this kind of deadlock is to use the sysfs_break_active_protection() function, which tells sysfs not to wait for the attribute callback. • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: core: Fix deadlock in port "disable" sysfs attribute The show and store callback routCVE-2024-26933 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: core: Fix deadlock in port "disable" sysfs attribute The show and store callback routines for the "disable" sysfs attribute file in port.c acquire the device lock for the port's parent hub device. This can cause problems if another process has locked the hub to remove it or change its configuration: Removing the hub or changing its configuration requires the hub interface to be removed, which requires the port device to be removed, and device_del() waits until all outstanding sysfs attribute callbacks for the ports have returned. The lock can't be released until then. But the disable_show() or disable_store() routine can't return until after it has acquired the lock. The resulting deadlock can be avoided by calling sysfs_break_active_protection(). This will cause the sysfs core not to wait for the attribute's callback routine to return, allowing the removal to proceed. The disadvantage is that after making this call, there is no guarantee that the hub structure won't be deallocated at any moment. To prevent this, we have to acquire a reference to it first by calling hub_get().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: think-lmi: Fix reference leak If a duplicate attribute is found using kset_find_obj(), a reference to that attribute is returned which needs to be disposed accordingly using kobject_put(). Move the setting name validation into a separate function to allow for this change without having to duplicate the cleanup code for this setting. As a side note, a very similar bug was fixed in commit 7295a996fdab ("platform/x86: dell-sysman: Fix reference leak"), so it seems that the bug was copied from that driver. Compile-tested only.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/mount_setattr: always cleanup mount_kattr Make sure that finish_mount_kattr() is called after mount_kattr was succesfully built in both the success and failure case to prevent leaking any references we took when we built it. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
