Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix race in devmap on PREEMPT_RT On PREEMPT_RT kernels, the per-CPU xdp_dev_bulk_queuCVE-2026-23294 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix race in devmap on PREEMPT_RT On PREEMPT_RT kernels, the per-CPU xdp_dev_bulk_queue (bq) can be accessed concurrently by multiple preemptible tasks on the same CPU. The original code assumes bq_enqueue() and __dev_flush() run atomically with respect to each other on the same CPU, relying on local_bh_disable() to prevent preemption. However, on PREEMPT_RT, local_bh_disable() only calls migrate_disable() (when PREEMPT_RT_NEEDS_BH_LOCK is not set) and does not disable preemption, which allows CFS scheduling to preempt a task during bq_xmit_all(), enabling another task on the same CPU to enter bq_enqueue() and operate on the same per-CPU bq concurrently. This leads to several races: 1. Double-free / use-after-free on bq->q[]: bq_xmit_all() snapshots cnt = bq->count, then iterates bq->q[0..cnt-1] to transmit frames. If preempted after the snapshot, a second task can call bq_enqueue() -> bq_xmit_all() on the same bq, transmitting (and freeing) the same frames. When the first task resumes, it operates on stale pointers in bq->q[], causing use-after-free. 2. bq->count and bq->q[] corruption: co

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: vxlan: fix nd_tbl NULL dereference when IPv6 is disabled When booting with the 'ipv6.CVE-2026-23293 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: vxlan: fix nd_tbl NULL dereference when IPv6 is disabled When booting with the 'ipv6.disable=1' parameter, the nd_tbl is never initialized because inet6_init() exits before ndisc_init() is called which initializes it. If an IPv6 packet is injected into the interface, route_shortcircuit() is called and a NULL pointer dereference happens on neigh_lookup(). BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000380 Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI [...] RIP: 0010:neigh_lookup+0x20/0x270 [...] Call Trace: <TASK> vxlan_xmit+0x638/0x1ef0 [vxlan] dev_hard_start_xmit+0x9e/0x2e0 __dev_queue_xmit+0xbee/0x14e0 packet_sendmsg+0x116f/0x1930 __sys_sendto+0x1f5/0x200 __x64_sys_sendto+0x24/0x30 do_syscall_64+0x12f/0x1590 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0x7e Fix this by adding an early check on route_shortcircuit() when protocol is ETH_P_IPV6. Note that ipv6_mod_enabled() cannot be used here because VXLAN can be built-in even when IPv6 is built as a module.

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: Fix recursive locking in __configfs_open_file() In flush_write_buffer, &p->fCVE-2026-23292 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: Fix recursive locking in __configfs_open_file() In flush_write_buffer, &p->frag_sem is acquired and then the loaded store function is called, which, here, is target_core_item_dbroot_store(). This function called filp_open(), following which these functions were called (in reverse order), according to the call trace: down_read __configfs_open_file do_dentry_open vfs_open do_open path_openat do_filp_open file_open_name filp_open target_core_item_dbroot_store flush_write_buffer configfs_write_iter target_core_item_dbroot_store() tries to validate the new file path by trying to open the file path provided to it; however, in this case, the bug report shows: db_root: not a directory: /sys/kernel/config/target/dbroot indicating that the same configfs file was tried to be opened, on which it is currently working on. Thus, it is trying to acquire frag_sem semaphore of the same file of which it already holds the semaphore obtained in flush_write_buffer(), leading to acquiring the semaphore in a nested manner and a possibility of recursive locking. Fix this by modifying target_cor

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irqchip/sifive-plic: Fix frozen interrupt due to affinity setting PLIC ignores interrupt cCVE-2026-23287 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irqchip/sifive-plic: Fix frozen interrupt due to affinity setting PLIC ignores interrupt completion message for disabled interrupt, explained by the specification: The PLIC signals it has completed executing an interrupt handler by writing the interrupt ID it received from the claim to the claim/complete register. The PLIC does not check whether the completion ID is the same as the last claim ID for that target. If the completion ID does not match an interrupt source that is currently enabled for the target, the completion is silently ignored. This caused problems in the past, because an interrupt can be disabled while still being handled and plic_irq_eoi() had no effect. That was fixed by checking if the interrupt is disabled, and if so enable it, before sending the completion message. That check is done with irqd_irq_disabled(). However, that is not sufficient because the enable bit for the handling hart can be zero despite irqd_irq_disabled(d) being false. This can happen when affinity setting is changed while a hart is still handling the interrupt. This problem is easily reproducib

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: atm: lec: fix null-ptr-deref in lec_arp_clear_vccs syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in CVE-2026-23286 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: atm: lec: fix null-ptr-deref in lec_arp_clear_vccs syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in lec_arp_clear_vccs(). This issue can be easily reproduced using the syzkaller reproducer. In the ATM LANE (LAN Emulation) module, the same atm_vcc can be shared by multiple lec_arp_table entries (e.g., via entry->vcc or entry->recv_vcc). When the underlying VCC is closed, lec_vcc_close() iterates over all ARP entries and calls lec_arp_clear_vccs() for each matched entry. For example, when lec_vcc_close() iterates through the hlists in priv->lec_arp_empty_ones or other ARP tables: 1. In the first iteration, for the first matched ARP entry sharing the VCC, lec_arp_clear_vccs() frees the associated vpriv (which is vcc->user_back) and sets vcc->user_back to NULL. 2. In the second iteration, for the next matched ARP entry sharing the same VCC, lec_arp_clear_vccs() is called again. It obtains a NULL vpriv from vcc->user_back (via LEC_VCC_PRIV(vcc)) and then attempts to dereference it via `vcc->pop = vpriv->old_pop`, leading to a null-ptr-deref crash. Fix this by adding a null check for vpriv before dereferencing it. If vpriv i

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drbd: fix null-pointer dereference on local read error In drbd_request_endio(), READ_COMPLETED_WITH_ERROR is passed to __req_mod() with a NULL peer_device: __req_mod(req, what, NULL, &m); The READ_COMPLETED_WITH_ERROR handler then unconditionally passes this NULL peer_device to drbd_set_out_of_sync(), which dereferences it, causing a null-pointer dereference. Fix this by obtaining the peer_device via first_peer_device(device), matching how drbd_req_destroy() handles the same situation.

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libertas: fix use-after-free in lbs_free_adapter() The lbs_free_adapter() function uCVE-2026-23281 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libertas: fix use-after-free in lbs_free_adapter() The lbs_free_adapter() function uses timer_delete() (non-synchronous) for both command_timer and tx_lockup_timer before the structure is freed. This is incorrect because timer_delete() does not wait for any running timer callback to complete. If a timer callback is executing when lbs_free_adapter() is called, the callback will access freed memory since lbs_cfg_free() frees the containing structure immediately after lbs_free_adapter() returns. Both timer callbacks (lbs_cmd_timeout_handler and lbs_tx_lockup_handler) access priv->driver_lock, priv->cur_cmd, priv->dev, and other fields, which would all be use-after-free violations. Use timer_delete_sync() instead to ensure any running timer callback has completed before returning. This bug was introduced in commit 8f641d93c38a ("libertas: detect TX lockups and reset hardware") where del_timer() was used instead of del_timer_sync() in the cleanup path. The command_timer has had the same issue since the driver was first written.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: teql: fix NULL pointer dereference in iptunnel_xmit on TEQL slave xmit teql_master_xmit() calls netdev_start_xmit(skb, slave) to transmit through slave devices, but does not update skb->dev to the slave device beforehand. This function does: get_cpu_ptr(dev->tstats) Since teql_master_setup() does not set dev->pcpu_stat_type to NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_TSTATS, the core network stack never allocates tstats for teql0, so dev->tstats is NULL. get_cpu_ptr(NULL) computes NULL + __per_cpu_offset[cpu], resulting in a page fault. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add xmit recursion limit to tunnel xmit functions Tunnel xmit functions (iptunnel_xmit, ip6tunnel_xmit) lack their own recursion limit. When a bond device in broadcast mode has GRE tap interfaces as slaves, and those GRE tunnels route back through the bond, multicast/broadcast traffic triggers infinite recursion between bond_xmit_broadcast() and ip_tunnel_xmit()/ip6_tnl_xmit(), causing kernel stack overflow. The existing XMIT_RECURSION_LIMIT (8) in the no-qdisc path is not sufficient because tunnel recursion involves route lookups and full IP output, consuming much more stack per level. Use a lower limit of 4 (IP_TUNNEL_RECURSION_LIMIT) to prevent overflow. Add recursion detection using dev_xmit_recursion helpers directly in iptunnel_xmit() and ip6tunnel_xmit() to cover all IPv4/IPv6 tunnel paths including UDP encapsulated tunnels (VXLAN, Geneve, etc.). Move dev_xmit_recursion helpers from net/core/dev.h to public header include/linux/netdevice.h so they can be used by tunnel code. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring: ensure ctx->rings is stable for task work flags manipulation If DEFER_TASKRUN | SETUP_TASKRUN is used and task work is added while the ring is being resized, it's possible for the OR'ing of IORING_SQ_TASKRUN to happen in the small window of swapping into the new rings and the old rings being freed. Prevent this by adding a 2nd ->rings pointer, ->rings_rcu, which is protected by RCU. The task work flags manipulation is inside RCU already, and if the resize ring freeing is done post an RCU synchronize, then there's no need to add locking to the fast path of task work additions. Note: this is only done for DEFER_TASKRUN, as that's the only setup mode that supports ring resizing. If this ever changes, then they too need to use the io_ctx_mark_taskrun() helper.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: unconditionally bump set->nelems before insertion In case that the set is full, a new element gets published then removed without waiting for the RCU grace period, while RCU reader can be walking over it already. To address this issue, add the element transaction even if set is full, but toggle the set_full flag to report -ENFILE so the abort path safely unwinds the set to its previous state. As for element updates, decrement set->nelems to restore it. A simpler fix is to call synchronize_rcu() in the error path. However, with a large batch adding elements to already maxed-out set, this could cause noticeable slowdown of such batches.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: Only allow act_ct to bind to clsact/ingress qdiscs and shared blocks As Paolo said earlier [1]: "Since the blamed commit below, classify can return TC_ACT_CONSUMED while the current skb being held by the defragmentation engine. As reported by GangMin Kim, if such packet is that may cause a UaF when the defrag engine later on tries to tuch again such packet." act_ct was never meant to be used in the egress path, however some users are attaching it to egress today [2]. Attempting to reach a middle ground, we noticed that, while most qdiscs are not handling TC_ACT_CONSUMED, clsact/ingress qdiscs are. With that in mind, we address the issue by only allowing act_ct to bind to clsact/ingress qdiscs and shared blocks. That way it's still possible to attach act_ct to egress (albeit only with clsact). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix unprivileged local user can do privileged policy management An unprivileged local user can load, replace, and remove profiles by opening the apparmorfs interfaces, via a confused deputy attack, by passing the opened fd to a privileged process, and getting the privileged process to write to the interface. This does require a privileged target that can be manipulated to do the write for the unprivileged process, but once such access is achieved full policy management is possible and all the possible implications that implies: removing confinement, DoS of system or target applications by denying all execution, by-passing the unprivileged user namespace restriction, to exploiting kernel bugs for a local privilege escalation. The policy management interface can not have its permissions simply changed from 0666 to 0600 because non-root processes need to be able to load policy to different policy namespaces. Instead ensure the task writing the interface has privileges that are a subset of the task that opened the interface. This is already done via policy for confined processes, but unconfined can deleg

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: rivafb: fix divide error in nv3_arb() A userspace program can trigger the RIVA NV3 arbitration code by calling the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl on /dev/fb*. When doing so, the driver recomputes FIFO arbitration parameters in nv3_arb(), using state->mclk_khz (derived from the PRAMDAC MCLK PLL) as a divisor without validating it first. In a normal setup, state->mclk_khz is provided by the real hardware and is non-zero. However, an attacker can construct a malicious or misconfigured device (e.g. a crafted/emulated PCI device) that exposes a bogus PLL configuration, causing state->mclk_khz to become zero. Once nv3_get_param() calls nv3_arb(), the division by state->mclk_khz in the gns calculation causes a divide error and crashes the kernel. Fix this by checking whether state->mclk_khz is zero and bailing out before doing the division. The following log reveals it: rivafb: setting virtual Y resolution to 2184 divide error: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN PTI CPU: 0 PID: 2187 Comm: syz-executor.0 Not tainted 5.18.0-rc1+ #1 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.12.0-59-gc9ba5276e321-pre

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gve: Fix stats report corruption on queue count change The driver and the NIC share a region in memory for stats reporting. The NIC calculates its offset into this region based on the total size of the stats region and the size of the NIC's stats. When the number of queues is changed, the driver's stats region is resized. If the queue count is increased, the NIC can write past the end of the allocated stats region, causing memory corruption. If the queue count is decreased, there is a gap between the driver and NIC stats, leading to incorrect stats reporting. This change fixes the issue by allocating stats region with maximum size, and the offset calculation for NIC stats is changed to match with the calculation of the NIC.

If any of the subsequent steps fail (changing the controller state, scheduling connect work, etc.), we jump to the fail_ctrl path, which tears down the controller references but never frees the admin queue/tag set. The leaked blk-mq allocations match the kmemleak report seen during blktests nvme/fc. Check ctrl->ctrl.admin_tagset in the fail_ctrl path and call nvme_remove_admin_tag_set() when it is set so that all admin queue allocations are reclaimed whenever controller setup aborts.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: liquidio: Initialize netdev pointer before queue setup In setup_nic_devices(), the netdev is allocated using alloc_etherdev_mq(). However, the pointer to this structure is stored in oct->props[i].netdev only after the calls to netif_set_real_num_rx_queues() and netif_set_real_num_tx_queues(). If either of these functions fails, setup_nic_devices() returns an error without freeing the allocated netdev. Since oct->props[i].netdev is still NULL at this point, the cleanup function liquidio_destroy_nic_device() will fail to find and free the netdev, resulting in a memory leak. Fix this by initializing oct->props[i].netdev before calling the queue setup functions. This ensures that the netdev is properly accessible for cleanup in case of errors. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add proper RCU protection to /proc/net/ptype Yin Fengwei reported an RCU stall in ptype_seq_show() and provided a patch. Real issue is that ptype_seq_next() and ptype_seq_show() violate RCU rules. ptype_seq_show() runs under rcu_read_lock(), and reads pt->dev to get device name without any barrier. At the same time, concurrent writers can remove a packet_type structure (which is correctly freed after an RCU grace period) and clear pt->dev without an RCU grace period. Define ptype_iter_state to carry a dev pointer along seq_net_private: struct ptype_iter_state { struct seq_net_private p; struct net_device *dev; // added in this patch }; We need to record the device pointer in ptype_get_idx() and ptype_seq_next() so that ptype_seq_show() is safe against concurrent pt->dev changes. We also need to add full RCU protection in ptype_seq_next(). (Missing READ_ONCE() when reading list.next values) Many thanks to Dong Chenchen for providing a repro.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: gro: fix outer network offset The udp GRO complete stage assumes that all the packets inserted the RX have the `encapsulation` flag zeroed. Such assumption is not true, as a few H/W NICs can set such flag when H/W offloading the checksum for an UDP encapsulated traffic, the tun driver can inject GSO packets with UDP encapsulation and the problematic layout can also be created via a veth based setup. Due to the above, in the problematic scenarios, udp4_gro_complete() uses the wrong network offset (inner instead of outer) to compute the outer UDP header pseudo checksum, leading to csum validation errors later on in packet processing. Address the issue always clearing the encapsulation flag at GRO completion time. Such flag will be set again as needed for encapsulated packets by udp_gro_complete().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvb-core: fix wrong reinitialization of ringbuffer on reopen dvb_dvr_open() calls dvb_ringbuffer_init() when a new reader opens the DVR device. dvb_ringbuffer_init() calls init_waitqueue_head(), which reinitializes the waitqueue list head to empty. Since dmxdev->dvr_buffer.queue is a shared waitqueue (all opens of the same DVR device share it), this orphans any existing waitqueue entries from io_uring poll or epoll, leaving them with stale prev/next pointers while the list head is reset to {self, self}. The waitqueue and spinlock in dvr_buffer are already properly initialized once in dvb_dmxdev_init(). The open path only needs to reset the buffer data pointer, size, and read/write positions. Replace the dvb_ringbuffer_init() call in dvb_dvr_open() with direct assignment of data/size and a call to dvb_ringbuffer_reset(), which properly resets pread, pwrite, and error with correct memory ordering without touching the waitqueue or spinlock.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: get rid of the xchk_xfile_*_descr calls The xchk_xfile_*_descr macros call kasprintf, which can fail to allocate memory if the formatted string is larger than 16 bytes (or whatever the nofail guarantees are nowadays). Some of them could easily exceed that, and Jiaming Zhang found a few places where that can happen with syzbot. The descriptions are debugging aids and aren't required to be unique, so let's just pass in static strings and eliminate this path to failure. Note this patch touches a number of commits, most of which were merged between 6.6 and 6.14.

Mar 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: check for deleted cursors when revalidating two btrees The free space and inode btreeCVE-2026-23249 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: check for deleted cursors when revalidating two btrees The free space and inode btree repair functions will rebuild both btrees at the same time, after which it needs to evaluate both btrees to confirm that the corruptions are gone. However, Jiaming Zhang ran syzbot and produced a crash in the second xchk_allocbt call. His root-cause analysis is as follows (with minor corrections): In xrep_revalidate_allocbt(), xchk_allocbt() is called twice (first for BNOBT, second for CNTBT). The cause of this issue is that the first call nullified the cursor required by the second call. Let's first enter xrep_revalidate_allocbt() via following call chain: xfs_file_ioctl() -> xfs_ioc_scrubv_metadata() -> xfs_scrub_metadata() -> `sc->ops->repair_eval(sc)` -> xrep_revalidate_allocbt() xchk_allocbt() is called twice in this function. In the first call: /* Note that sc->sm->sm_type is XFS_SCRUB_TYPE_BNOPT now */ xchk_allocbt() -> xchk_btree() -> `bs->scrub_rec(bs, recp)` -> xchk_allocbt_rec() -> xchk_allocbt_xref() -> xchk_allocbt_xref_other() since sm_type is XFS_SCRUB_TYPE_BNOBT, pur is set to &sc->

Mar 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: Enable exception fixup for specific ADE subcode This patch allows the LoongArchCVE-2025-71270 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: Enable exception fixup for specific ADE subcode This patch allows the LoongArch BPF JIT to handle recoverable memory access errors generated by BPF_PROBE_MEM* instructions. When a BPF program performs memory access operations, the instructions it executes may trigger ADEM exceptions. The kernel’s built-in BPF exception table mechanism (EX_TYPE_BPF) will generate corresponding exception fixup entries in the JIT compilation phase; however, the architecture-specific trap handling function needs to proactively call the common fixup routine to achieve exception recovery. do_ade(): fix EX_TYPE_BPF memory access exceptions for BPF programs, ensure safe execution. Relevant test cases: illegal address access tests in module_attach and subprogs_extable of selftests/bpf.

Mar 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not free data reservation in fallback from inline due to -ENOSPC If we fail to cCVE-2025-71269 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not free data reservation in fallback from inline due to -ENOSPC If we fail to create an inline extent due to -ENOSPC, we will attempt to go through the normal COW path, reserve an extent, create an ordered extent, etc. However we were always freeing the reserved qgroup data, which is wrong since we will use data. Fix this by freeing the reserved qgroup data in __cow_file_range_inline() only if we are not doing the fallback (ret is <= 0).

Mar 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/core: Fix refcount bug and potential UAF in perf_mmap Syzkaller reported a refcount_tCVE-2026-23248 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/core: Fix refcount bug and potential UAF in perf_mmap Syzkaller reported a refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free warning in perf_mmap. The issue is caused by a race condition between a failing mmap() setup and a concurrent mmap() on a dependent event (e.g., using output redirection). In perf_mmap(), the ring_buffer (rb) is allocated and assigned to event->rb with the mmap_mutex held. The mutex is then released to perform map_range(). If map_range() fails, perf_mmap_close() is called to clean up. However, since the mutex was dropped, another thread attaching to this event (via inherited events or output redirection) can acquire the mutex, observe the valid event->rb pointer, and attempt to increment its reference count. If the cleanup path has already dropped the reference count to zero, this results in a use-after-free or refcount saturation warning. Fix this by extending the scope of mmap_mutex to cover the map_range() call. This ensures that the ring buffer initialization and mapping (or cleanup on failure) happens atomically effectively, preventing other threads from accessing a half-initialized o
