  • Sep 18, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: greybus: audio_helper: remove unused and wrong debugfs usage In the greybus audioCVE-2022-50400 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: greybus: audio_helper: remove unused and wrong debugfs usage In the greybus audio_helper code, the debugfs file for the dapm has the potential to be removed and memory will be leaked. There is also the very real potential for this code to remove ALL debugfs entries from the system, and it seems like this is what will really happen if this code ever runs. This all is very wrong as the greybus audio driver did not create this debugfs file, the sound core did and controls the lifespan of it. So remove all of the debugfs logic from the audio_helper code as there's no way it could be correct. If this really is needed, it can come back with a fixup for the incorrect usage of the debugfs_lookup() call which is what caused this to be noticed at all.

  • Sep 17, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: pi433: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() CVE-2023-53355 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: pi433: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() the result must have dput() called on it, otherwise the memory will leak over time. To make things simpler, just call debugfs_lookup_and_remove() instead which handles all of the logic at once. This requires saving off the root directory dentry to make creation of individual device subdirectories easier.

  • Sep 17, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: vt6655: fix some erroneous memory clean-up loops In some initialization functionsCVE-2022-50355 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: vt6655: fix some erroneous memory clean-up loops In some initialization functions of this driver, memory is allocated with 'i' acting as an index variable and increasing from 0. The commit in "Fixes" introduces some clean-up codes in case of allocation failure, which free memory in reverse order with 'i' decreasing to 0. However, there are some problems: - The case i=0 is left out. Thus memory is leaked. - In case memory allocation fails right from the start, the memory freeing loops will start with i=-1 and invalid memory locations will be accessed. One of these loops has been fixed in commit c8ff91535880 ("staging: vt6655: fix potential memory leak"). Fix the remaining erroneous loops.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: subpage: keep TOWRITE tag until folio is cleaned btrfs_subpage_set_writeback() calls folio_start_writeback() the first time a folio is written back, and it also clears the PAGECACHE_TAG_TOWRITE tag even if there are still dirty blocks in the folio. This can break ordering guarantees, such as those required by btrfs_wait_ordered_extents(). That ordering breakage leads to a real failure. For example, running generic/464 on a zoned setup will hit the following ASSERT. This happens because the broken ordering fails to flush existing dirty pages before the file size is truncated. assertion failed: !list_empty(&ordered->list) :: 0, in fs/btrfs/zoned.c:1899 ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/zoned.c:1899! In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: zloop: fix KASAN use-after-free of tag set When a zoned loop device, or zloop device, is removed, KASAN enabled kernel reports "BUG KASAN use-after-free" in blk_mq_free_tag_set(). The BUG happens because zloop_ctl_remove() calls put_disk(), which invokes zloop_free_disk(). The zloop_free_disk() frees the memory allocated for the zlo pointer. However, after the memory is freed, zloop_ctl_remove() calls blk_mq_free_tag_set(&zlo->tag_set), which accesses the freed zlo. Hence the KASAN use-after-free. zloop_ctl_remove() put_disk(zlo->disk) put_device() kobject_put() ... zloop_free_disk() kvfree(zlo) blk_mq_free_tag_set(&zlo->tag_set) To avoid the BUG, move the call to blk_mq_free_tag_set(&zlo->tag_set) from zloop_ctl_remove() into zloop_free_disk(). This ensures that the tag_set is freed before the call to kvfree(zlo).

  • Aug 19, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: media: atomisp: Fix stack buffer overflow in gmin_get_var_int() When gmin_get_conCVE-2025-38585 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: media: atomisp: Fix stack buffer overflow in gmin_get_var_int() When gmin_get_config_var() calls efi.get_variable() and the EFI variable is larger than the expected buffer size, two behaviors combine to create a stack buffer overflow: 1. gmin_get_config_var() does not return the proper error code when efi.get_variable() fails. It returns the stale 'ret' value from earlier operations instead of indicating the EFI failure. 2. When efi.get_variable() returns EFI_BUFFER_TOO_SMALL, it updates *out_len to the required buffer size but writes no data to the output buffer. However, due to bug #1, gmin_get_var_int() believes the call succeeded. The caller gmin_get_var_int() then performs: - Allocates val[CFG_VAR_NAME_MAX + 1] (65 bytes) on stack - Calls gmin_get_config_var(dev, is_gmin, var, val, &len) with len=64 - If EFI variable is >64 bytes, efi.get_variable() sets len=required_size - Due to bug #1, thinks call succeeded with len=required_size - Executes val[len] = 0, writing past end of 65-byte stack buffer This creates a stack buffer overflow when EFI variables are larger than 64 bytes. @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend is the backend for the default Backstage software templates. Prior to version 2.1.1, duplicate logging of the input values in the fetch:template action in the Scaffolder meant that some of the secrets were not properly redacted. If ${{ secrets.x }} is not passed through to fetch:template there is no impact. This issue has been resolved in 2.1.1 of the scaffolder-backend plugin. A workaround for this issue involves Template Authors removing the use of ${{ secrets }} being used as an argument to fetch:template.

tj-actions/branch-names is a Github actions repository that contains workflows to retrieve branch or tag names with support for all events. In versions 8.2.1 and below, a critical vulnerability has been identified in the tj-actions/branch-names' GitHub Action workflow which allows arbitrary command execution in downstream workflows. This issue arises due to inconsistent input sanitization and unescaped output, enabling malicious actors to exploit specially crafted branch names or tags. While internal sanitization mechanisms have been implemented, the action outputs remain vulnerable, exposing consuming workflows to significant security risks. This is fixed in version 9.0.0
