In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free of share_conf in compound request smb2_get_ksmbd_tcon() reuses work->tcon in compound requests without validating tcon->t_state. ksmbd_tree_conn_lookup() checks t_state == TREE_CONNECTED on the initial lookup path, but the compound reuse path bypasses this check entirely. If a prior command in the compound (SMB2_TREE_DISCONNECT) sets t_state to TREE_DISCONNECTED and frees share_conf via ksmbd_share_config_put(), subsequent commands dereference the freed share_conf through work->tcon->share_conf. • Apr 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free in durable v2 replay of active file handles parse_durable_handleCVE-2026-23427 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free in durable v2 replay of active file handles parse_durable_handle_context() unconditionally assigns dh_info->fp->conn to the current connection when handling a DURABLE_REQ_V2 context with SMB2_FLAGS_REPLAY_OPERATION. ksmbd_lookup_fd_cguid() does not filter by fp->conn, so it returns file handles that are already actively connected. The unconditional overwrite replaces fp->conn, and when the overwriting connection is subsequently freed, __ksmbd_close_fd() dereferences the stale fp->conn via spin_lock(&fp->conn->llist_lock), causing a use-after-free. • Apr 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/logicvc: Fix device node reference leak in logicvc_drm_config_parse() The logicvc_drm_CVE-2026-23426 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/logicvc: Fix device node reference leak in logicvc_drm_config_parse() The logicvc_drm_config_parse() function calls of_get_child_by_name() to find the "layers" node but fails to release the reference, leading to a device node reference leak. Fix this by using the __free(device_node) cleanup attribute to automatic release the reference when the variable goes out of scope.

  • Apr 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Fix ID register initialization for non-protected pKVM guests In protected modeCVE-2026-23425 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Fix ID register initialization for non-protected pKVM guests In protected mode, the hypervisor maintains a separate instance of the `kvm` structure for each VM. For non-protected VMs, this structure is initialized from the host's `kvm` state. Currently, `pkvm_init_features_from_host()` copies the `KVM_ARCH_FLAG_ID_REGS_INITIALIZED` flag from the host without the underlying `id_regs` data being initialized. This results in the hypervisor seeing the flag as set while the ID registers remain zeroed. Consequently, `kvm_has_feat()` checks at EL2 fail (return 0) for non-protected VMs. This breaks logic that relies on feature detection, such as `ctxt_has_tcrx()` for TCR2_EL1 support. As a result, certain system registers (e.g., TCR2_EL1, PIR_EL1, POR_EL1) are not saved/restored during the world switch, which could lead to state corruption. Fix this by explicitly copying the ID registers from the host `kvm` to the hypervisor `kvm` for non-protected VMs during initialization, since we trust the host with its non-protected guests' features. Also ensure `KVM_ARCH_FLAG_ID_REGS_INITIALIZED` is cleared initially

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: free pages on error in btrfs_uring_read_extent() In this function the 'pages' object is never freed in the hopes that it is picked up by btrfs_uring_read_finished() whenever that executes in the future. But that's just the happy path. Along the way previous allocations might have gone wrong, or we might not get -EIOCBQUEUED from btrfs_encoded_read_regular_fill_pages(). In all these cases, we go to a cleanup section that frees all memory allocated by this function without assuming any deferred execution, and this also needs to happen for the 'pages' allocation.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dpaa2-switch: Fix interrupt storm after receiving bad if_id in IRQ handler Commit 31a7a0bbeb00 ("dpaa2-switch: add bounds check for if_id in IRQ handler") introduces a range check for if_id to avoid an out-of-bounds access. If an out-of-bounds if_id is detected, the interrupt status is not cleared. This may result in an interrupt storm. Clear the interrupt status after detecting an out-of-bounds if_id to avoid the problem. Found by an experimental AI code review agent at Google.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix constant blinding for PROBE_MEM32 stores BPF_ST | BPF_PROBE_MEM32 immediate stores are not handled by bpf_jit_blind_insn(), allowing user-controlled 32-bit immediates to survive unblinded into JIT-compiled native code when bpf_jit_harden >= 1. The root cause is that convert_ctx_accesses() rewrites BPF_ST|BPF_MEM to BPF_ST|BPF_PROBE_MEM32 for arena pointer stores during verification, before bpf_jit_blind_constants() runs during JIT compilation. The blinding switch only matches BPF_ST|BPF_MEM (mode 0x60), not BPF_ST|BPF_PROBE_MEM32 (mode 0xa0). The instruction falls through unblinded. Add BPF_ST|BPF_PROBE_MEM32 cases to bpf_jit_blind_insn() alongside the existing BPF_ST|BPF_MEM cases. The blinding transformation is identical: load the blinded immediate into BPF_REG_AX via mov+xor, then convert the immediate store to a register store (BPF_STX). The rewritten STX instruction must preserve the BPF_PROBE_MEM32 mode so the architecture JIT emits the correct arena addressing (R12-based on x86-64). Cannot use the BPF_STX_MEM() macro here because it hardcodes BPF_MEM mode; construct the instruction directly ins

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mseal: update VMA end correctly on merge Previously we stored the end of the current VMA in curr_end, and then upon iterating to the next VMA updated curr_start to curr_end to advance to the next VMA. However, this doesn't take into account the fact that a VMA might be updated due to a merge by vma_modify_flags(), which can result in curr_end being stale and thus, upon setting curr_start to curr_end, ending up with an incorrect curr_start on the next iteration. Resolve the issue by setting curr_end to vma->vm_end unconditionally to ensure this value remains updated should this occur. While we're here, eliminate this entire class of bug by simply setting const curr_[start/end] to be clamped to the input range and VMAs, which also happens to simplify the logic.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: Purge async_hold in tls_decrypt_async_wait() The async_hold queue pins encrypted input skbs while the AEAD engine references their scatterlist data. Once tls_decrypt_async_wait() returns, every AEAD operation has completed and the engine no longer references those skbs, so they can be freed unconditionally. A subsequent patch adds batch async decryption to tls_sw_read_sock(), introducing a new call site that must drain pending AEAD operations and release held skbs. Move __skb_queue_purge(&ctx->async_hold) into tls_decrypt_async_wait() so the purge is centralized and every caller -- recvmsg's drain path, the -EBUSY fallback in tls_do_decryption(), and the new read_sock batch path -- releases held skbs on synchronization without each site managing the purge independently. This fixes a leak when tls_strp_msg_hold() fails part-way through, after having added some cloned skbs to the async_hold queue. tls_decrypt_sg() will then call tls_decrypt_async_wait() to process all pending decrypts, and drop back to synchronous mode, but tls_sw_recvmsg() only flushes the async_hold queue when one record has been processed

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clsact: Fix use-after-free in init/destroy rollback asymmetry Fix a use-after-free in the clsact qdisc upon init/destroy rollback asymmetry. The latter is achieved by first fully initializing a clsact instance, and then in a second step having a replacement failure for the new clsact qdisc instance. clsact_init() initializes ingress first and then takes care of the egress part. This can fail midway, for example, via tcf_block_get_ext(). Upon failure, the kernel will trigger the clsact_destroy() callback. Commit 1cb6f0bae504 ("bpf: Fix too early release of tcx_entry") details the way how the transition is happening. If tcf_block_get_ext on the q->ingress_block ends up failing, we took the tcx_miniq_inc reference count on the ingress side, but not yet on the egress side. clsact_destroy() tests whether the {ingress,egress}_entry was non-NULL. However, even in midway failure on the replacement, both are in fact non-NULL with a valid egress_entry from the previous clsact instance. What we really need to test for is whether the qdisc instance-specific ingress or egress side previously got initialized. This adds a sma

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix race between freeing data and fs accessing it AppArmor was putting the reference to i_private data on its end after removing the original entry from the file system. However the inode can aand does live beyond that point and it is possible that some of the fs call back functions will be invoked after the reference has been put, which results in a race between freeing the data and accessing it through the fs. While the rawdata/loaddata is the most likely candidate to fail the race, as it has the fewest references. If properly crafted it might be possible to trigger a race for the other types stored in i_private. Fix this by moving the put of i_private referenced data to the correct place which is during inode eviction.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix race on rawdata dereference There is a race condition that leads to a use-after-free situation: because the rawdata inodes are not refcounted, an attacker can start open()ing one of the rawdata files, and at the same time remove the last reference to this rawdata (by removing the corresponding profile, for example), which frees its struct aa_loaddata; as a result, when seq_rawdata_open() is reached, i_private is a dangling pointer and freed memory is accessed. The rawdata inodes weren't refcounted to avoid a circular refcount and were supposed to be held by the profile rawdata reference. However during profile removal there is a window where the vfs and profile destruction race, resulting in the use after free. Fix this by moving to a double refcount scheme. Where the profile refcount on rawdata is used to break the circular dependency. Allowing for freeing of the rawdata once all inode references to the rawdata are put.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix differential encoding verification Differential encoding allows loops to be created if it is abused. To prevent this the unpack should verify that a diff-encode chain terminates. Unfortunately the differential encode verification had two bugs. 1. it conflated states that had gone through check and already been marked, with states that were currently being checked and marked. This means that loops in the current chain being verified are treated as a chain that has already been verified. 2. the order bailout on already checked states compared current chain check iterators j,k instead of using the outer loop iterator i. Meaning a step backwards in states in the current chain verification was being mistaken for moving to an already verified state. Move to a double mark scheme where already verified states get a different mark, than the current chain being kept. This enables us to also drop the backwards verification check that was the cause of the second error as any already verified state is already marked.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix missing bounds check on DEFAULT table in verify_dfa() The verify_dfa() function only checks DEFAULT_TABLE bounds when the state is not differentially encoded. When the verification loop traverses the differential encoding chain, it reads k = DEFAULT_TABLE[j] and uses k as an array index without validation. A malformed DFA with DEFAULT_TABLE[j] >= state_count, therefore, causes both out-of-bounds reads and writes. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix side-effect bug in match_char() macro usage The match_char() macro evaluates its character parameter multiple times when traversing differential encoding chains. When invoked with *str++, the string pointer advances on each iteration of the inner do-while loop, causing the DFA to check different characters at each iteration and therefore skip input characters. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: call set_notification_done() without proc lock Consider the following sequence of events on a death listener: 1. The remote process dies and sends a BR_DEAD_BINDER message. 2. The local process invokes the BC_CLEAR_DEATH_NOTIFICATION command. 3. The local process then invokes the BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE. Then, the kernel will reply to the BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE command with a BR_CLEAR_DEATH_NOTIFICATION_DONE reply using push_work_if_looper(). However, this can result in a deadlock if the current thread is not a looper. This is because dead_binder_done() still holds the proc lock during set_notification_done(), which called push_work_if_looper(). Normally, push_work_if_looper() takes the thread lock, which is fine to take under the proc lock. But if the current thread is not a looper, then it falls back to delivering the reply to the process work queue, which involves taking the proc lock. Since the proc lock is already held, this is a deadlock. Fix this by releasing the proc lock during set_notification_done(). It was not intentional that it was held during that function to begin with. I don't think this

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/privcmd: restrict usage in unprivileged domU The Xen privcmd driver allows to issue arbitrary hypercalls from user space processes. This is normally no problem, as access is usually limited to root and the hypervisor will deny any hypercalls affecting other domains. In case the guest is booted using secure boot, however, the privcmd driver would be enabling a root user process to modify e.g. kernel memory contents, thus breaking the secure boot feature. The only known case where an unprivileged domU is really needing to use the privcmd driver is the case when it is acting as the device model for another guest. In this case all hypercalls issued via the privcmd driver will target that other guest. Fortunately the privcmd driver can already be locked down to allow only hypercalls targeting a specific domain, but this mode can be activated from user land only today. The target domain can be obtained from Xenstore, so when not running in dom0 restrict the privcmd driver to that target domain from the beginning, resolving the potential problem of breaking secure boot. After GC was replaced with the current algorithm, the cited commit removed the locking dance in unix_peek_fds() and reintroduced the same issue. This error path is rare, it should only happen by reaching the maximum number hooks or by failing to set up to hardware offload, just call synchronize_rcu(). There is a check for already used device hooks by different flowtable that could result in EEXIST at this late stage. The hook parser can be updated to perform this check earlier to this error path really becomes rarely exercised. Uncovered by KASAN reported as use-after-free from nfnetlink_hook path when dumping hooks.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/dma: Cap dma_map_sg tracepoint arrays to prevent buffer overflow The dma_map_sg tracepoint can trigger a perf buffer overflow when tracing large scatter-gather lists. With devices like virtio-gpu creating large DRM buffers, nents can exceed 1000 entries, resulting in: phys_addrs: 1000 * 8 bytes = 8,000 bytes dma_addrs: 1000 * 8 bytes = 8,000 bytes lengths: 1000 * 4 bytes = 4,000 bytes Total: ~20,000 bytes This exceeds PERF_MAX_TRACE_SIZE (8192 bytes), causing: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 5497 at kernel/trace/trace_event_perf.c:405 perf buffer not large enough, wanted 24620, have 8192 Cap all three dynamic arrays at 128 entries using min() in the array size calculation. This ensures arrays are only as large as needed (up to the cap), avoiding unnecessary memory allocation for small operations while preventing overflow for large ones. The tracepoint now records the full nents/ents counts and a truncated flag so users can see when data has been capped. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Fix memory leak in ice_set_ringparam() In ice_set_ringparam, tx_rings and xdp_rings are allocated before rx_rings. If the allocation of rx_rings fails, the code jumps to the done label leaking both tx_rings and xdp_rings. Furthermore, if the setup of an individual Rx ring fails during the loop, the code jumps to the free_tx label which releases tx_rings but leaks xdp_rings. Fix this by introducing a free_xdp label and updating the error paths to ensure both xdp_rings and tx_rings are properly freed if rx_rings allocation or setup fails. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Squashfs: check metadata block offset is within range Syzkaller reports a "general protection fault in squashfs_copy_data" This is ultimately caused by a corrupted index look-up table, which produces a negative metadata block offset. This is subsequently passed to squashfs_copy_data (via squashfs_read_metadata) where the negative offset causes an out of bounds access. The fix is to check that the offset is within range in squashfs_read_metadata. This will trap this and other cases.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gve: fix incorrect buffer cleanup in gve_tx_clean_pending_packets for QPL In DQ-QPL mode, gve_tx_clean_pending_packets() incorrectly uses the RDA buffer cleanup path. It iterates num_bufs times and attempts to unmap entries in the dma array. This leads to two issues: 1. The dma array shares storage with tx_qpl_buf_ids (union). Interpreting buffer IDs as DMA addresses results in attempting to unmap incorrect memory locations. 2. num_bufs in QPL mode (counting 2K chunks) can significantly exceed the size of the dma array, causing out-of-bounds access warnings (trace below is how we noticed this issue). • Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, arm64: Force 8-byte alignment for JIT buffer to prevent atomic tearing struct bpf_pltCVE-2026-23383 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, arm64: Force 8-byte alignment for JIT buffer to prevent atomic tearing struct bpf_plt contains a u64 target field. Currently, the BPF JIT allocator requests an alignment of 4 bytes (sizeof(u32)) for the JIT buffer. Because the base address of the JIT buffer can be 4-byte aligned (e.g., ending in 0x4 or 0xc), the relative padding logic in build_plt() fails to ensure that target lands on an 8-byte boundary. This leads to two issues: 1. UBSAN reports misaligned-access warnings when dereferencing the structure. 2. More critically, target is updated concurrently via WRITE_ONCE() in bpf_arch_text_poke() while the JIT'd code executes ldr. On arm64, 64-bit loads/stores are only guaranteed to be single-copy atomic if they are 64-bit aligned. A misaligned target risks a torn read, causing the JIT to jump to a corrupted address. Fix this by increasing the allocation alignment requirement to 8 bytes (sizeof(u64)) in bpf_jit_binary_pack_alloc(). This anchors the base of the JIT buffer to an 8-byte boundary, allowing the relative padding math in build_plt() to correctly align the target field.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix WARN_ON in tracing_buffers_mmap_close When a process forks, the child process copies the parent's VMAs but the user_mapped reference count is not incremented. As a result, when both the parent and child processes exit, tracing_buffers_mmap_close() is called twice. On the second call, user_mapped is already 0, causing the function to return -ENODEV and triggering a WARN_ON. Normally, this isn't an issue as the memory is mapped with VM_DONTCOPY set. But this is only a hint, and the application can call madvise(MADVISE_DOFORK) which resets the VM_DONTCOPY flag. When the application does that, it can trigger this issue on fork. Fix it by incrementing the user_mapped reference count without re-mapping the pages in the VMA's open callback.
