  • Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: packet: synchronize pressure clearing with ring reconfiguration packet_set_ring() updates CVE-2026-74666 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: packet: synchronize pressure clearing with ring reconfiguration packet_set_ring() updates the RX ring state under sk_receive_queue.lock, but used to publish the tpacket receive mode through po->prot_hook.func after releasing that lock. packet_poll() and packet_recvmsg() can then run the pressure clearing path after the ring has been cleared while still seeing tpacket_rcv, causing __packet_rcv_has_room() to dereference stale or NULL ring storage. Move the existing receive hook assignment into the same sk_receive_queue.lock section as the ring state update. Keep the assignment otherwise unchanged, including on TX ring reconfiguration, to avoid adding behavior changes that are not required for the fix. Serialize packet_recvmsg() pressure clearing with the same queue lock only after PACKET_SOCK_PRESSURE has been observed. If the flag is clear and the socket has moved away from tpacket_rcv, packet_set_ring() has already detached the socket and waited for synchronize_net(), so no new packet input can set the flag again. packet_poll() already holds sk_receive_queue.lock, so it uses the new unlocked helper directly.

  • Aug 21, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: clear suppressed fib6 rule result fib6_rule_suppress() drops a suppressed routeCVE-2026-74581 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: clear suppressed fib6 rule result fib6_rule_suppress() drops a suppressed route with ip6_rt_put_flags(), but leaves res->rt6 pointing at the released rt6_info. If no later rule supplies a replacement, fib6_rule_lookup() still sees res.rt6 and returns that stale dst to its caller. A suppressing rule can therefore leak a released route back to rt6_lookup(), and the next put hits rcuref_put_slowpath() from dst_release(). Clear res->rt6 when suppressing the route so suppressed lookups fall through to the null dst instead of reusing the released one.

  • Aug 20, 2026The URLS regular expression in nltk/tokenize/casual.py, compiled into TweetTokenizer.WORD_RE and applied by TweetTokenizer.tokenize, contains a naked-domain braCVE-2026-72818 · Other software · nltk · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

The URLS regular expression in nltk/tokenize/casual.py, compiled into TweetTokenizer.WORD_RE and applied by TweetTokenizer.tokenize, contains a naked-domain branch whose domain-label prefix [a-z0-9]+(?:[.\-][a-z0-9]+)* is unbounded. Input consisting of many alternating label separators can be partitioned in exponentially many ways, and because the branch also requires a trailing top-level domain that such input never supplies, the engine explores those partitions before failing at each offset. A few kilobytes of input therefore consumes seconds to minutes of single-threaded CPU, and the HANG_RE substitution performed before matching does not collapse the pattern. TweetTokenizer is intended for tokenizing untrusted social-media text, so any service that applies it, or the module-level casual_tokenize, to submitted text can be stalled per request without authentication. Version 3.10.1 bounds the label repetition.

tor before 0.4.9.9 was prone to an infinite loop when decompressing a truncated zlib/gzip stream with done=1. A truncated stream never reaches Z_STREAM_END, causing zlib to return Z_BUF_ERROR with no input remaining, which buf_add_compress() mistook for a full output buffer and retried forever. • Aug 20, 2026SecureDrop Client is a desktop app for journalists to securely communicate with sources and handle submissions on the SecureDrop Workstation.CVE-2026-49996 · Other software · freedomofpress · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

SecureDrop Client is a desktop app for journalists to securely communicate with sources and handle submissions on the SecureDrop Workstation. Prior to version 1.3.1, a malicious SecureDrop Server could bypass securedrop-proxy's origin limitation by responding with cross-origin redirects. SecureDrop Server itself has multiple layers of built-in hardening, and is a dedicated physical machine exposed on the internet only via Tor hidden services for the Source and Journalist interfaces, and optionally via remote SSH access over another Tor hidden service. A newsroom's SecureDrop Workstation communicates only with its own dedicated SecureDrop Server. Version 1.3.1 fixes the issue.

  • Aug 20, 2026The Lean 4 kernel does not verify that the structure named in a projection expression matches the type of the value being projected, and environment::add_inductCVE-2026-72844 · Other software · leanprover · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8

The Lean 4 kernel does not verify that the structure named in a projection expression matches the type of the value being projected, and environment::add_inductive in src/kernel/inductive.cpp did not type check the nested inductive applications that are replaced by auxiliary types, so their parametric arguments escaped checking. A metaprogram running in the Lean process can register an ill-typed nested inductive whose constructor applies a .proj C 0 projection to a value of the unrelated type W, and the kernel admits the declaration through the ordinary checked addDecl path at maximum kernel checking, without sorry, unsafeCast, debug.skipKernelTC, addDeclWithoutChecking, FFI, or a modified .olean file. The result is a type confusion yielding a proof of False that carries no axioms, from which any proposition can be derived. The published proof of concept additionally pads two expressions until their hashes and approximate depths collide, which defeats kernel caching; that is the technique used to reach the flaw, not its cause. Exploitation requires running a metaprogram in-process, for example by building a project or importing a malicious Lake dependency.

  • Aug 19, 2026TranslatePress – Translate Multilingual sites with AI Translation: Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-75981 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2

The TranslatePress – Translate Multilingual sites with AI Translation plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to and including 3.2.5. The special gettext markers '#!trpst#' and '#!trpen#' are unconditionally rewritten to '<' and '>' by translate_page() in includes/class-translation-render.php (lines 538-539). Because those markers are plain text with no HTML-special characters, an unauthenticated attacker can embed them in a comment; the markers survive wp_kses, and when the post is viewed in a secondary language the substitution turns the attacker's '#!trpst#img ... #!trpen#' into a real <img> tag. remove_tags_from_output() only strips <script>/<style>, so an <img onerror=...> executes in the visitor's browser.

The Atarim – AI Agency for WordPress: Edit Pages, Fix Code, Update Plugins, SEO & Client Feedback plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the AVCF_Abilities_Media::register (replace-media-file execute_callback) function in all versions up to, and including, 5.1.1. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). This is exploitable by first using the atarim/update-post-field ability to overwrite the _wp_attached_file meta of an attacker-owned attachment with a directory-traversal path, then invoking atarim/replace-media-file to cause get_attached_file() to resolve and unlink the targeted file.

Malcolm's upload-processing pipeline (scripts/safe-extract.py) enforces entry-count, nesting-depth, and total-uncompressed-byte limits when extracting container archives (zip/tar/rar/7z via libarchive), but those limits are not applied when the uploaded file is a single-stream compressed format (.gz, .bz2, .xz, .lzma, .lz) that isn't a .tar.*-style archive. Any authenticated user permitted to upload PCAP/log files can upload a small, highly compressible file (e.g. a gzip bomb) that decompresses to an effectively unbounded size on disk, exhausting the shared Docker volume used by OpenSearch, Logstash, Arkime, and Zeek, and disrupting the platform for all users.

  • Aug 18, 2026The tar extraction routines in moby/go-archive (Unpack, UnpackLayer, Untar/UntarUncompressed, and the ApplyLayer helpers) do not confine filesystem operations tCVE-2026-17106 · Other software · moby · reported by security@docker.comHigh 7.1

The tar extraction routines in moby/go-archive (Unpack, UnpackLayer, Untar/UntarUncompressed, and the ApplyLayer helpers) do not confine filesystem operations to the destination directory. The extractor decides where each archive entry lands using lexical string checks and then performs the filesystem operation on a path that is resolved by the OS, so links introduced by the archive can be followed out of the destination directory. An attacker who controls the contents of an archive can create or overwrite files at arbitrary paths writable by the extracting process.

Wazuh 4.4.0 before 4.14.7 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the fdecompress_files() function within cluster.py that allows authenticated cluster peers to exhaust memory by supplying a malicious synchronization archive without decompressed size limits. Attackers holding a valid cluster Fernet key can upload a small, highly compressed zip bomb archive that forces wazuh-clusterd on the master node to decompress the full payload into memory, causing memory exhaustion and service disruption.

  • Aug 18, 2026yawkat LZ4 Java provides LZ4 compression for Java.CVE-2026-59949 · Other software · yawkat · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

yawkat LZ4 Java provides LZ4 compression for Java. Prior to 1.11.1, JNI-backed XXHash implementations fail to validate the byte array object and the off and len arguments in XXHashFactory.nativeInstance().hash32().hash(), XXHashFactory.nativeInstance().hash64().hash(), XXHashFactory.nativeInstance().newStreamingHash32().update(), and XXHashFactory.nativeInstance().newStreamingHash64().update(), allowing null arrays or oversized ranges to reach native code, read outside the Java array, and fatally terminate the JVM. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.1.

  • Aug 17, 2026Zephyr's 6LoWPAN IP Header Compression (IPHC) uncompression code contains an out-of-bounds read in get_ihpc_inlined_size() (subsys/net/ip/6lo.c).CVE-2026-12630 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.3

Zephyr's 6LoWPAN IP Header Compression (IPHC) uncompression code contains an out-of-bounds read in get_ihpc_inlined_size() (subsys/net/ip/6lo.c). The destination inline size is looked up in da_inline_size_table, which has 13 entries, using an index built from the M, DAC and DAM bits of the received IPHC dispatch word (iphc & NET_6LO_IPHC_DA_MASK, a 4-bit value of 0-15). The reserved combinations 13, 14 and 15 are not bounds-checked and read past the end of the table. The iphc word is taken directly from the received frame, and get_ihpc_inlined_size() is reached on every inbound 6LoWPAN frame via net_6lo_uncompress() from the 802.15.4 receive path (subsys/net/l2/ieee802154/ieee802154_6lo.c and ieee802154_6lo_fragment.c). An unauthenticated attacker on the radio/adjacent link can therefore craft a frame whose destination addressing-mode nibble selects an out-of-range index, with no privileges or user interaction. The out-of-bounds value becomes the computed inline_size, which then drives header reconstruction before the buffer-length check: it is used to dereference *(pkt->buffer->data + sizeof(iphc) + inline_size) and to compute a size_t diff that can underflow, leading to a furth

  • Aug 16, 2026WP Compress – Instant Performance & Speed Optimization: Cross-Site Request ForgeryCVE-2026-17608 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.5

The WP Compress – Instant Performance & Speed Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 7.10.09. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the (top-level template code) function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress options, including critical ones such as siteurl, home, active_plugins, template, and stylesheet, causing site outage or a full plugin and theme reset via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
