  • Jul 9, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add sanity checks for drm_edid_raw() When EDID is retrieved via drm_edid_CVE-2025-38254 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add sanity checks for drm_edid_raw() When EDID is retrieved via drm_edid_raw(), it doesn't guarantee to return proper EDID bytes the caller wants: it may be either NULL (that leads to an Oops) or with too long bytes over the fixed size raw_edid array (that may lead to memory corruption). The latter was reported actually when connected with a bad adapter. Add sanity checks for drm_edid_raw() to address the above corner cases, and return EDID_BAD_INPUT accordingly. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: avoid NPD when ASIC does not support DMUB ctx->dmub_srv will de NULL if the ASIC does not support DMUB, which is tested in dm_dmub_sw_init. However, it will be dereferenced in dmub_hw_lock_mgr_cmd if should_use_dmub_lock returns true. This has been the case since dmub support has been added for PSR1. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
