  • Aug 28, 2026LiteSpeed Cache: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-3129 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via crafted `<img>` tag attributes in all versions up to, and including, 7.7. This is due to a flawed regular expression that is used to strip `width` and `height` attributes from images when the "Lazy Load Images" and "Add Missing Sizes" features are enabled. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

  • Aug 28, 2026LiteSpeed Cache: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-18978 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Content in all versions up to, and including, 7.8.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. A comment payload crafted exclusively from decimal numeric character references (e.g. &#34;, &#60;, &#62;) placed inside an allowed element such as &lt;code&gt; bypasses WordPress's wp_kses sanitization, as kses does not treat a data-settings="..." substring within text content as an HTML attribute, allowing the malicious payload to reach the vulnerable function. For this to be exploitable, the site must allow users with previously approved comments to write new comments, and the require_name_email setting must be disabled.

Grafana Alloy’s prometheus.operator.servicemonitors component allows a user who can create or modify ServiceMonitor resources in a watched namespace to specify an arbitrary local file through bearerTokenFile. Alloy reads the file and sends its contents as a bearer token to an attacker-controlled scrape endpoint. • Aug 26, 2026Automatisch reveals whether an address is registered through the response to its forgot-password request.CVE-2026-81033 · Other software · automatisch · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

Automatisch reveals whether an address is registered through the response to its forgot-password request. The controller at packages/backend/src/controllers/internal/api/v1/users/forgot-password.js looks the address up and chains a not-found throw onto the query, so an address with no account raises an error that the global handler renders as a not-found status, while a registered address proceeds to send the reset message and returns no-content. The route is mounted without authentication. Submitting candidate addresses and comparing the two status codes therefore establishes which addresses hold accounts, with no credential and no rate limiting in the path.

On Linux, several OpenZFS ioctl authorization checks accept a capability held only within a user-created, unprivileged namespace as equivalent to real host privilege, allowing an unprivileged local user to perform operations that should require root. Affected operations include pool-administrative operations (eg create, import, destroy), pool event log access (zpool events) and fault injection (zinject). Exploiting the problem requires only that the local user is permitted to open /dev/zfs (governed by local device permissions) and that the kernel permits unprivileged user namespace creation. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing Joomla user, including administrators, by submitting a crafted SAMLResponse containing an attacker-controlled NameID and a deliberately malformed signature value that triggers an OpenSSL processing error — bypassing verification entirely and resulting in wp_set_auth_cookie() being called for the targeted account.

Issue summary: When OpenSSL processes QUIC traffic from a peer that repeatedly sends ack-eliciting packets while not acknowledging ACK-only responses, the QUIC stack can retain ACK-only packet metadata for the lifetime of the connection. Impact summary: A remote peer that can complete a QUIC handshake can cause connection-scoped memory growth which may lead to Denial of Service through memory exhaustion, especially with sustained traffic or many concurrent QUIC connections. CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: When the OpenSSL QUIC stack sends an ACK-only packet, there is no requirement by the QUIC protocol that the peer will acknowledge that ACK-only packet (i.e. it is itself not ack-eliciting). However, the OpenSSL implementation stores the metadata about the ACK frames regardless. In and of itself that's ok, but if a malicious peer establishes a connection, and then drives the connection such that ACK-only packets are forced from the OpenSSL implementation peer (i.e., by sending numerous PING frames), and then withholding any subsequent acks for ack-eliciting data, like legitimate data, said malicious peer can force inappropriate me

Issue summary: OpenSSL CMP response validation passed an unexpected response sender distinguished name directly as the format string to `ERR_raise_data()`. Impact summary: A malicious or intercepted CMP endpoint can crash a CMP client that enforces an expected sender or uses a pinned server certificate whose subject becomes the default expected sender. CWE: CWE-134 (Use of Externally-Controlled Format String) Description: When validating a received CMP message, ossl_cmp_msg_check_update() converts the peer-supplied sender distinguished name with X509_NAME_oneline() and passes it directly as the format argument to ERR_raise_data(). Percent characters survive the conversion, so a sender DN such as "CN=%s%n" reaches BIO_vsnprintf() as an attacker-controlled format string with no matching variadic arguments. This path is only reached when the caller configures an expected sender or pins a server certificate, which is the normal configuration for a CMP client validating server responses. Since the attacker controls the format string but none of the variadic arguments, such specifiers as %s and %n dereference or write through unrelated stack contents and crash the client. The reliabl

The UMP Stream responder library in lib/midi2/ump_stream_responder.c builds reply packets in a 16-byte struct midi_ump (uint32_t data[4]). The builders make_endpoint_info() and make_function_block_info() populate only the first two words (res.data[0] and res.data[1]) and, before this fix, declared their result as an uninitialised local (struct midi_ump res;). The remaining two words (res.data[2], res.data[3]) retain stale stack contents. Endpoint Info and Function Block Info notifications are UMP Stream messages (UMP_MT_UMP_STREAM), which are 4 words long, so the full 16-byte packet — including the two uninitialised words — is transmitted verbatim by cfg->send(). The responder is driven by attacker-supplied UMP Stream Endpoint-Discovery / Function-Block-Discovery requests via ump_stream_respond(). In the in-tree Network MIDI 2.0 server (subsys/net/lib/midi2/netmidi2.c) these requests arrive as UDP datagrams and, with the default no-authentication endpoint, a remote peer can establish a session and trigger the responses; the same library also serves USB MIDI 2.0 hosts. RansomLook exposed sensitive operator-side scraping configuration through multiple unauthenticated API responses. Location records associated with ransomware groups and markets were returned largely verbatim to unauthenticated callers whenever the location itself was not marked as private. These records could contain internal fields such as header, which may include authentication headers, session cookies, or other credentials used to access monitored websites; init_script, which may contain logic used to bypass CAPTCHA, anti-bot protections, or paywalls; and browser, which discloses details about the scraping environment. An unauthenticated remote attacker could query the affected API endpoints and obtain these values. Leaked authentication material could potentially be replayed against the monitored service, while disclosure of scraping and bypass logic could allow site operators or other attackers to identify and defeat RansomLook's collection mechanisms. The patch introduces an explicit allowlist of fields permitted in public location records and strips all operator-side fields before returning data to unauthenticated users. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ovl: don't warn when the mount is completed from another user namespace fsopen() records the caller's user namespace in fc->user_ns and hands back an ordinary file descriptor. Nothing ties the task that calls fsconfig(FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE) to the task that created the context. The fd is inherited across fork() and exec() and it can be passed over a unix socket. Completing a context from another user namespace is allowed on purpose. vfs_cmd_create() authorizes the create with mount_capable(), which for FS_USERNS_MOUNT checks ns_capable(fc->user_ns, CAP_SYS_ADMIN), and that succeeds for a task holding CAP_SYS_ADMIN in an ancestor of fc->user_ns. So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in ovl_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("overlay") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE. Both namespaces come from a plain unshare(1) and no capability is needed anywhere: WARNING: fs/overlayfs/super.c:1551 at ovl_fill_super+0x7b9/0x1e20 [overlay] CPU: 3 UID: 1000 PID: 3243376 Comm: fswarn Call Trace: get_tree_nodev+0x71/0xa0

So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in bm_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("binfmt_misc") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE. Both namespaces come from a plain unshare(1) and no capability is needed anywhere: WARNING: fs/binfmt_misc.c:938 at bm_fill_super+0xa2/0xc0 [binfmt_misc] CPU: 15 UID: 1000 PID: 3243382 Comm: fswarn Call Trace: get_tree_keyed+0x7

Checkmate is an open-source, self-hosted tool designed to track and monitor server hardware, uptime, response times, and incidents in real-time with beautiful visualizations. From 3.3.0 until 3.9.2, enabling the global showURL setting causes the unauthenticated GET /api/v1/status-page/:url endpoint to return complete monitor objects from server/src/controllers/statusPageController.ts. The response includes the secret field used by HttpProvider.ts as an HTTP Authorization credential, even though BaseStatusPage.tsx does not display that value, allowing visitors to extract credentials from the JSON response and use them against monitored services. This issue is fixed in version 3.9.2.

Checkmate is an open-source, self-hosted tool designed to track and monitor server hardware, uptime, response times, and incidents in real-time with beautiful visualizations. From 3.5.1 until 3.9.2, an authenticated admin or superadmin can set matchMethod to regex and place a malicious expression in the expectedValue field for advanced HTTP monitor matching. server/src/api/validation/monitorValidation.ts accepts the expression, and server/src/service/network/AdvancedMatcher.ts synchronously evaluates it against an attacker-controlled HTTP response body on the Node.js main event loop without a timeout or worker isolation, allowing catastrophic backtracking to freeze API endpoints, monitor checks, and WebSocket connections for all users. This issue is fixed in version 3.9.2.

Certificate validation failures in SAML authentication in Apache CloudStack 4.20.3.0 and 4.22.1.0 on all platforms allow a malicious agent to forge a SAML response to the management server. The agent will have to spoof the ip address of the IdP or get an url of its own choosing registered in the management server, after which it can allow logging on with forged signatures. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.20.3.1 or 4.22.1.1 and above, which fix this issue.

Catalyst::Plugin::Static::Simple versions through 0.38 for Perl mark responses as publicly cacheable. The _serve_static method always sets the Cache-Control header to "public", with no means of overriding it. This advises proxies that the content may be stored in a shared cache, and may be reused in responses to requests from other users. (This includes requests with an Authorization header.) Configuring the expires time to "0" to disable caching, as documented, is ignored.

  • Aug 20, 2026Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity vulnerability in dropbox samly allows an attacker to establish an authenticated session using a SAML response theCVE-2026-53425 · Other software · dropbox · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 7.6

Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity vulnerability in dropbox samly allows an attacker to establish an authenticated session using a SAML response the service provider never requested. Samly.SPHandler.validate_authresp/3 in lib/samly/sp_handler.ex validates a SAML response for the SP-initiated flow by comparing only the RelayState value, the IdP identifier, and the presence of a target URL held in the session. It never compares SubjectConfirmationData/@InResponseTo against the ID of the AuthnRequest the service provider issued, and that request ID is never persisted, so no comparison is possible. SAML 2.0 Core section 4.1.4.3 requires a service provider to reject a response whose InResponseTo does not match a request it made. The underlying esaml library checks status, signature, recipient, audience, and staleness, but likewise never inspects InResponseTo, so nothing else closes the gap. Exploitation requires a validly signed assertion from the trusted IdP, which an attacker can obtain for their own account, and a RelayState matching the victim's session; the assertion signature itself remains intact, so this is not a signature-forgery issue. • Aug 20, 2026WebOb provides objects for HTTP requests and responses.CVE-2026-54770 · Other software · Pylons · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1

WebOb provides objects for HTTP requests and responses. Prior to 1.8.11, Response._make_location_absolute() in src/webob/response.py checks a Location value for a URI scheme or leading double slash before urllib.parse.urljoin() strips leading C0 control characters and spaces. An attacker-controlled value such as a space followed by a protocol-relative or absolute URL can therefore bypass SCHEME_RE and startswith("//") checks and be normalized to an off-host redirect. Request.relative_url() and webob.exc._HTTPMove subclasses, including HTTPFound, are also affected because they use the same unsafe URL joining behavior or bypass the earlier normalization path. An unauthenticated attacker who can influence an application's redirect target can send users to an attacker-controlled host for phishing or OAuth and SSO token theft, but exploitation requires the user to follow the redirect. This issue is fixed in version 1.8.11.

Sony XAV-9500ES AVRCP_Br_Response_Parser Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Sony XAV-9500ES devices. An attacker must first obtain the ability to pair a malicious Bluetooth device with the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the handling of AVRCP packets. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the device. Was ZDI-CAN-28995.

The HL7800 cellular modem driver's +CGCONTRDP: response handler on_cmd_atcmdinfo_ipaddr() in drivers/modem/vendor_standalone/hl7800.c parses the PDP-context dynamic parameters (local address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers) that the cellular network assigns to the device. The response is linearized into a 256-byte stack buffer, after which each address field length is computed from comma/. delimiter positions in the network-supplied data and used directly as the length argument to strncpy() into the fixed 64-byte stack buffer temp_addr_str (and the 16-byte iface_ctx.dns_v4_string). Because the field length is derived from attacker-controlled delimiter positions and was not bounded against the destination buffer, a single field can be far larger than 64 bytes. A malicious or impersonated cellular network (for example a rogue base station) can return a crafted +CGCONTRDP response with an overlong address field, causing strncpy() to write past temp_addr_str on the modem worker thread's stack, plus an out-of-bounds NUL write at temp_addr_str[addr_len]. No device-side privileges or user interaction are required: the device itself issues the AT+CGCONTRDP=1 query during normal ne

  • Aug 19, 2026Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response.CVE-2026-49441 · Other software · wazuh · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1

Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From 4.3.0 until 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta3, the non-merged branch of process_files_from_worker() in framework/wazuh/core/cluster/master.py trusts a peer-controlled file_path key from files_metadata.json. The destination is joined to WAZUH_PATH without proving that it remains inside the directory selected by cluster_item_key. A cluster peer holding the shared Fernet key can upload a crafted extra-valid archive and overwrite security-sensitive files such as /var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf. Replacing ossec.conf can configure root-executed commands and lead to code execution after a service reload. This issue is fixed in versions 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta3.
