Contractor websites that get calls

Short answer: Homeowners searching for a contractor are often in a hurry and always nervous about who they’re letting in the house. A contractor site that wins the call shows the work, proves you’re licensed and local, and makes calling one tap.

What homeowners look for

  • That you do the specific job: a page per service, not one list.
  • That you come to their town: a clear service area and pages for the main towns.
  • That you’re legitimate: license numbers, insurance, years in business, a real address or base.
  • That others trust you: reviews with names, photos of real jobs.
  • What it might cost: price ranges or what affects the price.
  • How fast you can come, and a way to reach you now.

Pages to have

  • One page per main service (roof repair, roof replacement, storm damage, gutters), each with photos from your own jobs.
  • Emergency or storm pages if you do that work, with the number at the top.
  • A financing page if you offer it.
  • Town pages where you really work. See town pages that rank.
  • A gallery of before-and-after work, with the town named.

Little things that lose calls

  • A call button that dials the wrong number. Tap every one. Our call button guide shows how often this happens.
  • A quote form with fifteen fields. Name, phone, town and what they need is enough to call them back.
  • No mention of the towns you serve.
  • Stock photos of a roof that isn’t yours.

Questions

Should I use Google Local Services Ads?

For many trades they’re worth testing. You pay per lead rather than per click, and the badge at the top of the results carries weight with homeowners. Your website and reviews still decide whether they call.

Do you build contractor websites?

Yes, with a page per service and town, real job photos and tap-to-call everywhere. Housecall, a mobile mechanic we built for, is a good example.

A website, your marketing, a security check, an app, or the thing you've been running out of a spreadsheet for three years. A few lines is plenty.
